1421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SINGULARDTV (ETHEREUM) - Launch Completed! on: April 11, 2017, 12:46:26 PM
They are on bittrex, hopefully polo will add SNGLS to ETH trading pairs soon. Untill then the price will be moderate, after on polo, it usually sky rockets...

There seems to be a valid development team with SingularDTV and Millions of SNGLS tokens are locked for 2 years at least and then they will decide how to use them. For more promoting, developing, etc...
So it's an incentive to work harder developing this.

Lot's of good things coming..

Keep working devteam! I wish I didn't buy more when it was about 1k..
And I wonder why this coin has such weak interest..  not many people in this thread.. not on major exchange (polo)
Where we will have update on Sngls webpage?

Who are golem competitors?

You can find some information here
http://www.elastic-project.com/comparison_with_other_solutions

That's about Elastic's competitors, but Golem is there too :-)

Those are always from one sided view coming from Elastic.
but there are many issues that are going to be addressed in future releases, there is a public roadmap for Golem...

Alpha Golem is working already?

Yes, alpha was released month ago, it is working well.

Great!

I installed it to give it a go.

Dead in the water.

Can't connect to any networks and I forwarded some ports from my router to the machine, still nothing.

Same thing here.

I think the pre built docker images are a little behind from the github source. There seems to be multiple daily updates to the source code, they are rapidly developing golem. Try compiling from source, instructions seems to be on the github wiki.

Got working and connected to network,
seed address 181.88.176.28 and port 40102
seed address: 194.181.80.71 & seed port: 40112

I was also thinking it would be great if we had a Virtual Machine image of golem. that would be easy to deploy around datacenters and on your own machine. for example one single OVF file, just boot and run.

Is there any idea who or how will use Golem supercomputer's computing power? Will it be a "general" supercomputer or will it have niche or niches? Providing supercomputing power is nice, but I think most niches could use some application examples or design-pattern, at least.

The first milestone for Golem is the Brass Golem, in which there will be a integration with Blender rendering, so 3D artists can buy computing power to render their work.

But in the end i think it's Golem's goal so that basically anyone can buy and sell their computing resources for any use.

Going to be CPU and/or GPU capacity?

POLONIEX Golem/GNT going in nice uptrend. This is the chance to get into DASH kind of unique coin early...

Golem | Introduction
The Golem Network is an accessible-to-everyone, distributed, supercomputer that reduces costs (sometimes by over 10x) of scientific research, big data analysis, graphics rendering, machine learning, AI… just about anything that requires heavy computational power. Those why buy computational power off the Golem Network are called Requesters.
All while bringing CPU cycles into the sharing economy so anyone with a computer can rent their computing power out on the Golem Network and make an automated income. These people are called Providers.
It also provides software developers and owners of software (including microservices & dApps) a decentralized medium for distributing and monetizing their software. Software hosted on the Golem network will never experience downtime, cannot be DDoS’d, and will usually be cheaper than running your own servers.

Golem’s alpha is already live and operating on the Morden testnet. You can get access to it here: https://github.com/imapp-pl/golem

Golem | Whitepaper

Golem | Crowdfunding
The crowdfunding of Golem & the creation of Golem Network Tokens (GNT), which will serve as a secure medium for all transactions within the Golem Network, is organized around an Ethereum smart contract.

It will go up very soon.

Would love see more exhanges carrying golem.
Where the examples on providing resources to golem network? What are the resources Computing CPU? GPU? Storage?
Also is the work going out to be encrypted somehow?
1429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: March 15, 2017, 05:07:36 PM
Be aware of this

EUROPOL starts investigating coin mixers and may keep records of the coin mixers aka masternode IP's
meaning all masternode owners will be at RISK.

as a prevention of money loundering, cybercrime etc.
https://www.parlament.gv.at/PAKT/EU/XXV/EU/13/63/EU_136328/imfname_10703661.pdf

"Virtual currencies
In addition, the widening criminal use of decentralised virtual currencies and the increased use of
tumbler/mixer services, effectively prevent law enforcement to ‘follow the money’ and
significantly complicate the possibilities for asset recovery and the prevention of fraudulent
transactions. The lack of (minimum) standards for due diligence and Know-Your-Customer for
such services and the non-application of existing regulations compound to the problem. In 2016, a
growing number of cybercrime investigations involved cryptocurrencies and blockchain analytics in
order to progress the criminal business model, which is indicative of the need to ensure that law
enforcement and judicial authorities have the expertise, tools and legislative and regulatory means
at their disposal to ‘follow the money’. "

as you know with TOR, the TOR exit nodes can be prosecuted, like masternode owners.

DASH=Winning team...enough sad!  Cool

I've built an update script for 32/64bit linux masternode owners.
It pulls and installs directly from dashpay.io distributed tarballs.
I may support compiling at some point.

First version, but it seems reasonably well behaved.
Let me know if you run into any bugs and I'll push fixes.

https://github.com/moocowmoo/dashman

I'll add more utilities over time, this is just a starting point.

Very nice, maybe add MD5 or SHA256 sum checking for the tarball?

SuchPool
FYI:

Recently we came across a bad situation; block stats were really ugly on DASH and START pool. After a thorough investigation that took quite a while we found out several users were spamming duplicate shares. Amongst them are regular users who are having outdated miners which were not doing it on purpose.

We have fixed out stratum code against this and banned the top offenders. Their account and workers were deleted on sight. There MAY have been 2 or 3 legitimate users being deleted because of the amount of duplicate shares involved; basically everyone who submitted over 12 duplicate shares per block were erased on sight. We are sorry for any false positives but as there were several dozens accounts (over 70) we have had to go the automated way to get rid of all those workers and accounts.

The block stats on all our pools will therefore improve in the next couple of days starting immediatly (this fixed was applied 15 minutes ago). We deeply apologise for not seeing this sooner but this issue was hidden deep and quite hard to notice at first glance.

@minersday

Yes, you already can enable 2FA at Dashwhale.org

Very nice indeed!

Although i really your site  Smiley, i dont like the whale with the hat, sigar and mouchtache. I think it gives the wrong message to the broader public who enter Dash.

Its about monetary freedom worldwide, not about getting rich. The masternode owners support this idea by owning one and thus contributing to this cause.

@fuzzyduck Thank you for your comment and kind words. There are several websites out there in cryptocurrency field, which are pale. They are streamlined with reduced logos, engaging no emotions, having no real identity. We activly decided against a pale brand.

People love DASH, love running masternodes and love discussing things until their heads smoke. The interaction of the community with DASH is very emotional. The logo (bit arrogant looking whale with tophat, monocle and cigar) ironically plays with the innate whale-money theme in the cryptocurrency community. We want the people to identify with the Dashwhale brand. We want the people to remember it. The platform is open to everybody and therefore should not devide the community. It is one of the few places where regular user can voice their opinions, which are heard by masternode owners, which then will vote, taking these opinions into account.

https://www.dashwhale.org

(comprehensive masternode monitoring and budget proposal voting/discussion)

Can I get google two-factor authentication to this? =)

Also, how can enforcement be on when there is still unpaid blocks (jmma) and paid to older versions.

We turned it off, the cycle is way too small due to only a few masternodes being updated when v12 came out at first. When it settles down we'll enable it again. In the mean time I asked coinmine to pay random masternodes rather than using the winners list which will work till enforcement is enabled. We'll fix this so it doesn't happen in the next update.

Evan, could you clarify this a bit? The way I read your post at dashtalk, it sounded like the first to get upgraded end up first in line, and everybody else goes to the back of the line. That would imply that as soon as the first masternodes to upgrade get paid, everybody else will too, essentially in order of upgrade. The way I'm reading your above comment is that essentially late-to-update masternodes are "banned" for a period of time, and the cycle continues with first-to-update masternodes for some time before allowing the later masternodes to receive a payment? Or am I misreading?

Also, what conditions are you waiting for before turning back on enforcement? By "settling down" do you mean that you are waiting for these "bans" to expire, or for more masternodes to update, or what exactly?

Just trying to understand the process better...thanks!!

Anyone knows how to run the latest version of Dash on Ubuntu 14.04?

I get these files and can't open them. I'm kind of an ubuntu noob...

Just  go to directory where qt is using terminal and execute it.
For instance, i keep my dash-qt on a desktop.
So open terminal and type

cd /home/Desktop
./dash-qt --reindex

Hi. I tried the above suggestion and I get the error: No such file or directory
Any ideas what's causing that?

Wild guess, you are using 32-binaries on a 64-bit system?
if so, you need to have 32-libraries present to run them.
1437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: August 19, 2015, 11:46:52 AM
Masternode operators MUST be running 0.12.0.46 or greater!

as per dashninja.pl, when did .46 happen?  Roll Eyes

edit: typo probably

It's in the oven! Elbereth used a sniper scope to snoop on the recipe and baked his own cake.  Wink

well there are more chiefs cooking the same recipe, already 11% of the MNs are on it.

Its the beauty of github. Anyone is free to compile their own

So do we update again? Or should i just wait for a final update?

I would say that if you are having problems -> Update. (CPU/MEM/Network-usage is much much lower with 0.46), what I have been observing half-a-day.
1438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: August 18, 2015, 04:36:56 PM
V12.0.45 is working great for me, really impressive work, all the new tools, wallet repair, backups,  syncing budgets, sporks, everything is super slick. It feels like a huge step forward, looking forward to what we can do with the budget system.  Cool

v12.0.45 crashed all my MNs every two days. Still can't find the problem. Very frustrating. Since 8 days without any payment for all my  MNs.

Nope, my masternodes are fine v12.0.45.
going on: 2d12h that's since .45 release with the newer protocol.

Oh yeah V12

or masternodes could mine with only one core instead of all cpu cores. Most of our servers have 4 or more cores.
3000 decentralised more cores of hashing power sounds good to me.

Hmm, this sounds interesting, all pointed to a closest p2pool +1 for this!
