walletrecoveryservices.com !! 100% Recommended ! ....>>

if you ever run into trouble with your walletpassphrase (encryption)
Dave just saved my wallet and me !
there was a misspelling in my passphrase (yes things happen)
and i was officially screwed, after trying for a day and a half i started searching the net and came across

www.walletrecoveryservices.com
20% Fee of Wallet if recovered !

there is a way if you use Python where you do not actually have to send your .dat file to him,
as I have no idea about Python and was too embraced to tell anybody about this, i send him my actual wallet.dat (with 1000 DRK !!!)
the deal is 20% recovery fee if dave can work it out !
And Kaboom, 24 hours later my wallet is decrypted, i receive 800 DRK
(eventually i buy the other 200 back to get my MN on the road) and everybody happy !

AMAZING !

Trust in this crypto world is a very specially word and seldomeley used
as we are all fighting FUD and Trolls and whatnot, but Dave is a standup guy
(as he could have had decrypted my wallet, kept the 1000 DRK, i would have never found out)
and i vouch for him anytime !

Congratulations! But Waaait a minute Cheesy If any encrypted wallet.dat can be broken in 24h then don't you think crypto community have a big problem to face urgently? Cheesy Or is your new friend Dave has access to the NSA's codebreaking supercomputers? ))

he is not really breaking the encryption !

you give him the password you think you used and then he takes it from there !
and i believe his chances are around 30-40 %
without a "starting" password he would have no chance !

1st thing you do after funding a wallet - dumpprivkey! Print it out, keep it safe, tattoo it onto the tonsils of your pet assault crocodile, recover your balance easily even if all your wallet.dat backups get eaten by undead alien tentacle-horrors! Smiley

But they might just as well get a payment at block 3000. If you're moving your MN's after each payment you will be at the mercy of the variance.
If I am reading things correctly, then while gaming the system, it shouldn't ever take your MN longer to be paid than the good actors *plus 15 blocks, but would have the chance of it taking significantly shorter(*at 1000MN, you could receive payment 985 blocks sooner.)

My understanding is that the first payment will take as many blocks as is needed until it hits the 1 in N chance. This could take 1 or 10000 blocks. After the first payment, it will take N blocks to get the next one.

Quote
Each new node has a 1 in N (total number of masternodes) chance of receiving a payment each block

Correct. However, I'm going to change it to the first payment requiring confirmations > masternodes*90%. So if there's 1000 masternodes a new node will have to wait 900 confirmations to be entered into the lottery. Then after that it'll be 1 of N. All future payments beyond that will be on a schedule with -10/+10% variance.

Confirmations to start a masternode will be 15. You just can't get paid until much later. It should provide a good mix of security and stability of payments.
I thought of a similar solution while I was walking my dog just now (coupling masternode count to confirmations to allow payment). Nice work. Smiley

Another way of doing it would be to maintain a list of which nodes had been paid, and new nodes would not qualify for payment until all already-existing nodes had been paid. Evan's wait-for-mn-count-confirmations achieves the same thing with less overhead though.  Grin

So far not one of you have presented your incredible DRK laden wallets to confirm how committed you are.

edit: not sure about "Onyx" - this release sounds more like "Hammerfall" to me.

For anyone who's interested, a sneak peak at the next release of Darkcoin:

TLDR:

- Next release will go out in the next two days probably, I'm going with the community and calling it "The Onyx Release"
- It features mandatory, non-exploitable Masternode payments.
- Masternode payments are completely predictable now. I.e., if there's 2000 masternodes you can expect 1 payment every 4 days (divide the amount of nodes by the blocks per day to get your ROI).
- Masternode payments will go to 25% one week from release (non-manditory)
- Afterwards I encourage the community to find the pools still paying 20% and contact them to make sure they update their stratum before it's too late
- Masternode payments beyond that will increase to 30% in November, 35% in December and continue on until we get at least 3000 masternodes.
- Huge security updates to Darksend. It's much more robust and can take a beating.

How does the payouts work for new nodes coming online? They won't need to catch up to existing payouts, right?

Also interested in how this is done!

Even if there isn't a minimum 'age' for MNs to start receiving payments, I think the system will be pretty hard to game - you can't launch a thousand MNs without a million DRK, after all.

When that shark came in for the kill yesterday to feed of the followers and they fed him, it revealed to me it is time to move on.

Whoa, that's pretty biblical. Really needed an "unto" to nail it though.

The anonymity of the coin in this single foolish endeavor compromises the user that bought into his self interest scheme. Your IP and address are forever intertwined.

I don't think you can do multiple NMs that way being that you need a unique IP for each node. You can, however, use that method to run multiple clients for testing purposes. Really no purpose on mainnet unless you have unique IPs not associated with you to further anon funds.
Oblox do you mean that for future MNs voting/payouts as Evan stated on dct we will have to have only t2micro instances with 1IP and T2medium + 5 EIP will not be OK Huh

No, you just can't run multiple MNs from a single IP. Your AWS setup is still good!

I just upgraded to the most recent darkcoin client.  It says that there's a security issue and I should create a new wallet and transfer my funds to it.

OK, fine.  How do I do that?  I don't see any menu options for making a new wallet.

Thanks for the help.

send all your funds from your old wallet
to your new wallet !
super easy

the you have a new .dat file
and that is what this so all about !

How do you get a new wallet? I just had this message too. Do you have to install another DarkCoin wallet program?

Close client, rename your current wallet.dat to something else, like wallet-old.dat, then fire up the client again. Because there is now no wallet.dat, it will create a new one. Copy the new address, close client, rename wallet.dat wallet-new.dat, rename wallet-old.dat back to wallet.dat, fire up the client again, send funds in old wallet to new wallet address...

lets say we reach 2000 MN's which suppose to be the Max or was it 3000? "DOESN'T MATTER" Because now even if someone know's how to have their MN they either 1. Can't because max # of MN's has been reached. 2. It's to expensive if this coin reach's Bitcoin lvl which is right now @ $360 "$360,000".

Best get one now then, eh?   Grin

Do you know how many Darkcoins gonna be in circulation in 01/ 2016?

I'd guess ~6-7 million. Why?

I am not talking about any other coin since I don't trust any other coin but Bitcoin. I also did not say anything about anonymous transactions. Please don't tell me you invested into this coin because you ONLY want to have anonymous transactions becuase most of us here to make money.

If you are here to make money and you aren't making money you have only yourself to blame.

Ok my issue is here; if this coin ever gets big how do you think whales would come if we don't have the volume for them to come? & lets assume a whale came and bought 300,000 Darkcoin's and price shoots up to $20 "I assume people won't sell to get easy profits" or else it would be more like $15. So now we have even another problem more coins locked up and price will keep going down if this whale decides to add more MN's.

I cannot lower my IQ enough to comprehend this gibberish.

another problem how do you expect normal people who have no computer skills to take the trouble and make their own MN "Yes people would have problems setting up MN's".

I can't fly an airplane, thus, I don't expect to earn a living as an airplane pilot. If I wanted to earn a living as a pilot, I'd learn how to fly a fucking plane. Luckily, learning how to run a Masternode is a lot easier than learning to pilot a 737... Millions of people mine cryptocurrencies, running a Masternode is far easier than building rigs and noodling with mining software.

Did I do something wrong with my calculations or assumptions?

Yes.

Guaranteed Masternode payment distribution... guaranteed 20%+ annual ROI.  Cool

And remember, this is the infrastructure that will bring anonymous instant transactions to the world. Doubters should go dwell on those three words for a moment or two.

Anonymous. Instant. Transactions.

I've started to see what Darkcoin is all about now. It never meant to be for every one Worldwide currency like I thought when I invested in this coin; it's a good coin but it's downfall is it's distribution + community hates negative comments about this coin and ignore you without really debating with you. Also this mess with Mintpal biggest Darkcoin exchange took out volume and it's like scattered everywhere some went to Bitfinex others to Cryptsy or Bittrex it's sad really.

Bring a vaguely thought out point to debate, we'll debate. It's difficult to have an intelligent conversation with idiots. Not a single thing you just posted makes any sense whatsoever.

Wink

Tell me why? please do because I really do want to know if there is something I am missing that you know and I don't.

I presume you invested in DRK because you believe there is a market for financial privacy, anonymous transactions... I did, and DRK is the clear leader in the field. And with upcoming InstanTX and other innovations, that lead will grow. Oh, and easily completely compatible with BTC API's.

XC is closed source, nobody knows if or how it works. All the CN clones have big technical problems and are a dead end as far as adoption goes, have you ever tried using one of them? What's left? Croak?

If you want DRK to succeed, stop complaining and do something about it. Rejoice, open source means complete freedom to contribute! Stop sitting on your arse hoping someone else's hard work is going to make you rich.

Or sell your DRK and go somewhere else? It's a free(ish) world. Smiley
