If I believe or not doesn't matter.

It does when we're discussing whether things like this are important or not. Your opinions are colored by your beliefs. You're saying that you don't think it's big news (and you're entitled to your opinions), I'm just explaining why, for some of us, it is.

... this is big news ...

now lets have Bill Gates explain to the world why bitcoin ( or somthing like it  Tongue ) is the future, mmmk?
14262  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitPay is not Bitcoin....new merchants are accepting USD, not Bitcoin. on: April 24, 2013, 02:58:32 PM
BitPay is using Bitcoins. It may be USD -> BTC -> USD, but there is still a BTC link in there.

I think of the currency war like netscape thought about the browser war. They needed navigator on the machine first even though they were offering it for free so they could then extend netscape's influence on the machine slowly. Its a lot easier to get somebody to not exchange a currency they already use rather than telling them to switch to a currency they have never heard about.

the term  "currency wars" has nothing to do with bitcoin, all it means is countries around the world are racing to find excuses to print & borrow  as much money as they can b4 its over... its almost over  Cool

14264  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: April 24, 2013, 01:57:10 AM
$145 just fell.

Bring it on $150!!! Sitting there all smug and wall-like.

150 looks all cool and shit on the outside, but on the inside hes all panicky and ready to bounce any moment.
14265  Economy / Economics / Re: Early Retirement Extreme on: April 24, 2013, 01:54:09 AM
I've paid a total of about $2k usd in rent over the last 3 years while traveling the world. It's far easier than most think.

what the fuck!!!

14267  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: April 23, 2013, 08:30:11 PM
It was not a bubble! bitcoin supply is truly drying out!!! its almost over AHHHHHH!

as you can see from them color full graph, during the climb up, we had 2 stable periods each lasting over 30 hours. these stable periods have very low volume. both these  stable periods were preceded by, a crash and fast rebound.

so what does it all mean?

there are no more bitcoins to be bought! pure and simple!

"But adam look at all the volume when it dropped below 140, most of the volume happened below 90 fuck! clearly there isn't any shortage of bitcoins"

What we saw there was panic selling on a massive scale, something the market is not likely to repeat ever again! we had ~30% of the total bitcoin supply traded in less than 2 weeks! kinda crazy prices didn't fall to 30 if you ask me.

now these panic sellers are goign to be BUT HURT as bitcoin move along leaving them behind with their money, they may decide to take their $ profits and go, and i hope they do, demand is only growing, and its not like it will be raining 3,000,000BTC every 2 week....

IMHO, BUY BUY BUY  Grin
14268  Economy / Speculation / Re: mtgox claims $5 to $20 million per day incoming funds... on: April 23, 2013, 07:19:33 PM
Man, the fact that that money's not going out means people are thinking about putting it back in.

I think we're on the verge of another bubble... already!

This time I'm betting we'll be going up, up, up, without the nasty crash of last time.

The fact that there is so little delay between those bubbles makes me think that this time we will have higher highs and probably higher lows then during the last bubble but not that much difference in between. Maybe we'll top out at 350$/BTC or so but we wont go to 1000$ straight away because not much has changed during the last bubble. Infrastructure still has to be built, money has to flow in, people have to wrap their heads around it before they invest.
After the coming bubble's burst we shoud be able to see the big underlying trend and trend channel that all the coming bubbles will follow for some time.
I envision something like that:

lol yes this is what i'm expecting as well.

its going to be a wild ride!
14269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Greed will catch up with you. on: April 23, 2013, 07:16:45 PM
In my opinion anyone with 1 million dollars to invest doesn't need to do so in the first place. I mean, with that much money it really is nothing else but greed.

I'd think it's the opposite. I'd think with a million bucks, Bitcoin would look like a liability of loonitarians, and would *only* be due to pure unadulterated curiosity and boredom from being too wealthy. There are of course people with lots of money who would believe in the tenants of Bitcoin, but bitcoin itself...hmm..that's a tough one.

I agree. If I had a million dollars, and ONLY a million dollars. I would hoard that fiat like a muther fuzzer. Maybe $50K into bitcoin, but no more.

if had a million dollars, and ONLY a million dollars.... i'd keep my day job...

Everyone needs to watch this Mark Karpeles interview!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LLjlOw3TVc8#!

Key takeaways...
1) Most of the EUR and USD raised during the selloff is still at Mt Gox
2) 5M-20M USD coming in daily, only 300K-1M leaving

That's IMHO the real cause of the recent price uptake over 130 ... Not sure if I like disclosing such information ...

Is it just me or does MT.Gox use Clarkmoody to check the market?!?!?!

its not like they can afford btchcarts  Tongue
14271  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: April 23, 2013, 05:35:09 PM
Consolidation time? Or another rally soon? I think people are still cautious so I vote for consolidation and building support for a little while before starting another rally.

Nan, panic buy time  Grin

I'm sure this won't count as proof to many of you, the proof you need is my corpse.  Alas, this is all I can offer you at this time.

I drew this about two years ago, I didn't draw much, but I was able to pull this one off.

You have the choice to believe what I say or continue doubting.  I'm sharing this because I want as many people to believe when my time does come, for the transition will be easier among everyone.

Plus, if you believe in my death, you will believe in the enormous BTC price spike that goes along with it.  It will be after 4/20, now is a good time to buy BTC.

heydank!

you didmt kill yourself ic

I think its important we let everyone know about bitcoin
smart people will invest and start using bitcoin
and dumb people will buy high and sell low

I will be creating hype and spread awareness of bitcoin in montreal
then i will be  presenting bitcoin to 100's of not 1000's of merchants in montreal

If you want to help PM me
we will make & distribute printable posters
give away phy. bit coins
create some real interest in btc

and then give a really good 3 hour presentation on the bitcoin world and why it matters. in montreal!

Major party after word!

I will be inviting Max kizzer, pirate40, Gavin, and everyone else!

this maybe the biggest after hours bitcoin party Ever!

Please consider coming to montreal and party with us!

Meet up is next weekend!

I may have to push it back to next next weekend depending on everyones availability, there will be drinking and partying but this is a serious meetup and i have some important information to relay to all bitcoiner in montreal, so its important we get everyone together.

I'm working closely with https://bips.me/ to make the persentation for introducing bitcoin to merchants in montreal. Things are progressing and https://bips.me/ now allows quick, easy and automatic convertion of BTC to CAD for mercehents, but my persentation is not yet complete. So obviously this meetup will not be at  Dawson College Auditorium... we will be meeting up on the hill like last time, and then hitting the bars.

I will have some flyers and physical bitcoins with me, which i will give away to everyone who attends this meet up. The plan is to have you Montrealer bitcoiners give away these flyers and physical bitcoins to random people you meet during the summer, in order to help  to create a Buzz about bitcoin before I give my epic presentation at  Dawson College Auditorium.

Obviously this meetup is sure to be A LOT of fun ( there will be free weed, flyers and physical bitcoins!!!... if you like that shit, you know i do!!!  Cheesy ) ! i look forward to seeing everyone from the last meet up and maybe a few newcomers.

Bring your friends!

I will PM everyone soon and post more details below soon.

Thanks everyone!

same rules apply...

i will be waiting out side of Mont-Royal metro station at ~3:00 wearing my Bud Light lime Hat, i'm 6"3' you can't miss me..... ( i really fucking need to get a bitcoin hat... anyway)

We will walk up Mont-Royal, and then we will meet up with everyone else at Madhatters bar downtown, at ~5:00  we party hard till ~12:00, and then go home...
This time i feel RICH so i will be buying everyone a round, and some nachos!!

PM me if interested
Thanks
