Clearly price manipulation in our industry is rampant, both upwards and downwards. They are typically being done to achieve different strategies, but always to make a short term profit.  It is concerning that more professional traders are involved, and the increasing use of bot trading is quite noticeable.

DNotes is positioned for the long term. Its current price clearly does not reflect the true value of DNotes. We have decided to just focus on executing our strategies and not spend much time worrying about the real time price. DNotes should only be considered as a long term high risk investment representing a small fraction of your risk capital that you can afford to lose in the worst case.

The follow article is a good point of reference:

Large Market Buy Order Drives Up Bitcoin Price on Gemini Exchange to $2,200

Hans Lombardo  November 20, 2015

Gemini, the New York City bitcoin exchange founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, experienced a large market buy order on November 13th that drove up the price of bitcoin on the exchange to as a high as $2,200, or around $1,800 above the current market price.

The exchange, after consideration decide to roll back the large trade.
Cameron Winklevoss announced:

Upon making our determination, we immediately alerted all counterparties involved and have been working diligently to ensure the most equitable resolution possible. We have also been working on building and implementing a strategy to prevent and help mitigate similar situations in the future. It has been no small undertaking, and we greatly appreciate your patience, apologize for any inconvenience and for the delay in our response communication, and understand how some may disagree with our decision. With that said, in an effort to be as transparent as possible, we will outline why we decided to unwind this trade, what we are doing to prevent this from happening in the future, and what customers can expect in the event something like this happens again.

The Winlekevoss brothers decided to reverse the trade because it was empirically disruptive to an orderly market, representing a false and misleading view of the market.

Winklevoss continued:
We did not base our decision on the reason this order was placed (though we have no evidence to believe it was intentionally malicious), only whether or not it was disruptive. Our decision was also not based on customer type, although, since it has been asked, we will share that the customer was not an institution, not a special customer, but rather an regular individual customer just like many others on our platform.

In its user agreement, Gemini does reserve the right to reverse or cancel orders that are a disruption or malfunction.

We reserve the right to reverse and/or cancel one or more Orders in the event of (i) any disruption or malfunction in the operation of any electronic communications, trading facilities, storage facilities, recording mechanisms or other components of or integral to Gemini or of Digital Assets, or (ii) any other severe business disruption to Gemini, its systems or Digital Assets, where the nullification of transactions may be necessary for the maintenance of a fair and orderly market or the protection of you and the public interest.

Gemini management also added new pre-trade controls to automatically counter disruptions going forward. This includes an automatic cancellation of the remaining portion of any order that immediately moves the market price by more than 20% in either direction. They also added a confirmation dialogue box that warns customers before placing any order that could potentially move the market price by more than 20% in either direction

In terms of post-trade adjustments, Gemini will remove records of reversed trades from the market data API and the historical trade data on the exchange website.

Customers party to such trades will still see a record of their portion of the trade and its reversal in their account history.

Great article here Edmund C. Moy (former director of the US Mint) talks at the bitcoin investor conference about how bitcoin can privatize money again.

“[One] reason why I like cryptocurrencies and where my mind has gone on all this is that when you take a look at our earliest notions of money — money was in private hands. You found electrum, which is basically a mixture of gold and silver in the ground. Sizes were important, and if you just pounded it into a mold — and you use that in trade, so money was very — it was in private hands, it was the ultimate democratization of money.”

“Well, I see bitcoin as the improvement in technology that allows money to be privatized again, back where it should be because it is my belief that one of the main uses of money is economic transactions. Why is government involved in economic transactions except for the ability to tax that transaction and get their income out of it? So, if money is primarily used in economic transactions between two people, then it makes a lot of sense to me that — if current technology allows, then money should be privatized because it’s used between two people.”

http://insidebitcoins.com/news/former-director-of-us-mint-bitcoin-allows-money-to-be-privatized-again/35866

"if money is primarily used in economic transactions between two people, then it makes a lot of sense to me." That is DNotes’ ultimate goal. I have mentioned that in a number of my previous posts, that when the vast majority of DNotes transactions are between two parties, there will be little doubt that DNotes is superior to fiat currency. Getting to that point will take years and a lot of strategic positioning and great executions.

It will be great if we can write an article about this subject for DCEBrief. DNotes is a long term large scale global project that will take years or even decades to reach its ultimate goal - to facilitate the vast majority of the transactions between two parties. If you understand our ultimate goal you will understand and appreciate all the extra work and commitments we have subjected ourselves to. It is a lot of very hard work and not always a lot of fun. We believe that for DNotes to be the trusted global digital currency for everyone world to participate, thereby gaining mass acceptance - that is what it takes.

What has DNotes been doing differently?

1. Culture

Recognizing the fragmented and chaotic nature of our industry, we started by  creating a culture of mutual respect, cooperation, and team work resulting in a productive and rewarding community atmosphere many characterized as “refreshing”. DNotes is now a respected currency with a purpose. This has made it possible for DNotes to have its own ecosystem system without outside funding. It is quite an amazing accomplishment for anyone who knows what it takes.

2. A trusted Brand

DNotes has built a trusted brand and will continue down that path. TRUST is invaluable in financial services. A significant part of DNotes' future growth will involve financial services.

3. Dedicated Long Term Commitment

The DNotes team and many of its stakeholders are long term investors. The vast majority of them are net buyers investing for the long term. We do not participate in pump and dump. Unfortunately, trading bots including some likely operated by some exchanges are making price stability nearly impossible to achieve. We will continue to support the market but becoming very reluctant to “feed the bot”. We are less concerned about volatilities until we start promoting DNotes as a medium of exchange. By then, we believe that other mechanisms will be in place to address that issue.

4. Women’s Full Participation - CryptoMoms

We are totally committed to encourage and assist women’s participation in the digital currency space. It is most encouraging to note that CryptoMoms broke the record of 13,000 registered members today after being launched less than 1 ½ years ago. Expect us to be doing a lot more to empower women in the future. I will personally be heading up a major project to assist women small business owners. Anyone, interested to participate may contact me. Women should not be left behind in this massive emerging industry.

5. Saving For The Future – CRISP

Everything that we do for DNotes is done for strategic reasons or for a good cause; positioning DNotes to accomplish the ultimate goal of mass acceptance on a global scale. It is not how big the project is at launch, but how well positioned it is for global expansion at the appropriate time.

Our family of CRISPs for children, students, employees and retirees are designed to fulfill our mission to make DNotes available for everyone worldwide to participate. We believe that disciplined savings for the long term, done on regular bases, is a good thing for everyone. Our job is to provide for the convenience, safety, and long term appreciating value of DNotes. Consequently, DNotes is managed as a business, but not controlled as a business.

6. DNotesVault

DNotesVault is a significant service for our stakeholders, at no cost.  It is easier to open a DNotes Vault account than a bank account. It is also secure. We guarantee 100% of your deposit through a separate cold storage account, secured in a different location, with an amount always in excess of the total deposit. The guaranteed funds are verifiable any time through the blockchain.

7. DCEBrief

DCEBrief is the latest addition to our ecosystem built to provide objective, unbiased news on the latest developments in the world of digital currency, in “Executive Summary” format, with no fluff or filler. DCEBrief's mission is to ensure decision makers, busy executives and everyday people worldwide can access the information they need, to help them understand the often misunderstood Digital Currency industry.

The DNotes’ Difference:

If you are new to DNotes, we hope you got a better sense of the DNotes’ difference. Our ultimate objective is for DNotes to gain mass acceptance as the digital currency of choice in global commerce, where the vast majority of the DNotes transactions are between two parties without the control of any central authority or middleman. We are not hoping that it could happen. We have been executing multiple strategic plans to make it happen. DNotes and its ecosystem is not just a vision or a wishful business plan; it is a large scale global project with completed solid foundation and multiple functioning systems as outlined above. As we expand, there will be many opportunities in different areas. Get to know us early, if you have exceptional skill-sets and like to be a part of our team. Feel free to PM me.

All, we are starting a cancer fundraiser at our new daylily site called "Collections for Cancer". 50% of all collection sales from through 31st will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Check out or press release below:

http://www.ourmidland.com/prweb/smokey-s-daylilies-announces-collections-for-cancer-fundraiser-as-owner/article_c8f3f8d3-b148-584b-8be6-6e0921518209.html

This is a very inspiring initiative Smokey, and the story about your battle with cancer is touching. I hope you surpass your fundraising goals, while bringing awareness to a disease that millions die from every year.

That is a great story and worthy initiative. "hopes to spread the word about the importance of patients taking an active role in researching and understanding their own health options. He intends to raise funds to help the American Cancer Society give people the knowledge they need to make important decisions that can have a deep impact on their own health and survivability." I think many people put all of their trust in the doctor they are speaking to and forget that they are just people too and don't know everything. Even doctors will shun you for "googling" your own health problems, medications, and treatments. That's not the way it should be.

Congratulations Kevin on your remission.

Thank you, Kanus. The last five years have not been easy, but they have been the most exciting, and best five years of my life so far. The treatments and surgery have ravaged my body (I only weigh about 115 lbs), and knocked a few points off my IQ, but cancer has also been one of my best teachers, and in many ways, I would not trade these five years for anything else, but that is a chapter in a book for some other time. My "team" and I immediately sprang into action and quickly selected Mayo as the best option for me. In less than two weeks from the time the first Doctor told us I had cancer, I was taking my first treatment at Rochester, MN. Even though I had a 7% survival rate, I felt more confident than I have ever felt in my life. I was lucky to have good insurance, and one hell of a support system. My family, my employees, my church, and the entire town threw their support behind me. Their were dozens, if not hundreds of folks praying for me in accross the nation. Privately, I felt as though I had to live through this, to avoid letting down all the folks who were pulling for me. To me, that meant death was not an option. My biggest cheerleader was my wife, Rocky (I call her Shorty). She is known here as Grandmama. I also call her Nurse Ratchet (after the movie), and also call her the Soup Nazi. She is the reason I weigh 115 LBS instead of 90 LBS. She will cook anything for me, anytime.
Alan, Joe and I have been to the gates of Hell together. We have overcome health adversities. Alan had cancer right before we teamed up, and had heart surgery the year before I was diagnosed with cancer. We have also  overcome financial adversities. I sunk several hundred thousand dollars on a prime retail site, and a 20,000 square foot building in 2004, a few years before the bust. We spent several hundred thousand on a new 8000 square foot showroom in that huge building. We also had several other setbacks that would have stopped most others. Luckily, Alan had convinced me to grow Registered Daylilies during this time also. It took us less than five years to become one of the world's largest growers, all the while battling health issues, and financial issues as well. Then came DNotes, which will be our greatest accomplishment. It was "built" the same way Smokeys Gardens was, one block at a time.
We plan on writing a book about our journey together someday. It will be a book about overcoming adversities. It will be a book about hard work. It will be a book about how to motivate others. It will be a book about how to react to and overcome setbacks, both personal and in business. It will be a book about how to treat others, both friends and foes.
Thanks to all that have supported us. Thanks to the American Cancer Society. And a special thanks to my dear friend Alan, who initially signed up as a business coach. He ended up teaching me about how to live life, and how to treat others. Thank you, Yoda.

      Smokey

Thanks for a great post Kevin. There were many good days despite a few challenging ones. We were committed to success and we succeeded against all odds. This has prepared us well to make DNotes a great success.

Just to avoid unintended concern, I had very early stage prostate cancer 10 years ago and was treated immediately - totally cancer free since then. My heart trouble has been under control after a minor incident when I was going through a stress test at the hospital. That was in 2007. I have remained very healthy since than.

My secret - if you feel passionate about it, never turn down a tough job that you have to work hard or even have to struggle at times. If you can remain at your best during the best of time or the worst of time, you are the master of your destiny and will be a valuable source of inspiration giving others that vital ray of hope we all need during the darkest days of our life.

Smokeys Daylily Gardens is an amazing human interest and business success story. With the right mind-set and some guidance all businesses that provide viable goods or services can succeed.

I am passionate about helping many more like Smokeys Gardens and others who are less fortunate. Helping DNotes to be a great success story one day is the biggest challenge of my life. It is also the greatest opportunity for us all to usher the greatest positive impact for the betterment of humanity.

Kevin is an amazing human being and that makes Smokeys Daylily Gardens success story even more worthy of telling one day. I was with him all those years and watched him survive against all odds and the business continued to grow year after year - against all odds. We were obviously not dependent on good fortune or good luck. It was the unquestionable passion in what we were doing and the mind-set of wanting to be the best in class in everything we were doing. We got to the top spot three times faster than anyone else could have because we worked smarter and harder than anyone would have.

I am happy that Smokeys Daylily Gardens is doing its part to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. That is a worthy cause and I hope it will get a lot of support.

Cryptopia:

Poloniex: 2855-2977, Cryptopia: 2700-2255

Volume slowly picking up.

"DNotesVault only accepts DNotes for storage."

Good! It differentiates Dnotes as a crypto that is genuinely oriented to development as a currency, not a talk-about-currency-but-actually-really-about-trade.

Mark (IndiaMikeZulu), Australia

Seems like DNotes is doing quite well at Cryptopia. I have not been able to participate so far and certainly appreciate the support from everyone else.

DNotesVault is a very important part of DNotes infrastructure or ecosystem. Once we start promoting our family of CRISPs next year its value will become much more apparent.

Here is a great article by Evander Smart, which some of you may recognize as an author from articles in our industry. We have appreciated his worked and pleased that he agreed to write for us.

I have always been a fan of Evander Smart, especially, his Op-Eds. He has the uncanny abilities to see beyond the smoke screen and recall the distance past in the financial and digital currency arena. He can see the hidden agenda of bankers, and called them out. We appreciated the great article he wrote for DCEBrief and certainly hope that he will write a few more. Thank you, Evander.

Sure - I'll write about my experience (it is not easy to buy bitcoin). question: can I store my bitcoin in the dnotes site's wallet (Dnotes Vault)?

Dear Friends, I wish to bye Bitcoins and exchange it into Dnotes, what is the best and reliable site to do so (I'm going to pay by credit card in USD). Thank You  (ok now i see there are instructions on Dnotes's site)

Found a pretty interesting article that grabbed my attention when looking for news for the DC recap.  "Smart Business Owners Embrace Bitcoin" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jamil-bouchareb/smart-business-owners-emb_b_8535524.html

"Bitcoin is the answer we've been waiting for to our monetary problems, especially internationally. When purchasing, selling, or transferring money between countries, big fees always stand in the way. We're forced to stalk exchange rates to hopefully get the best deal. Hell, even when we keeping our money within the country, big banks always find a way to slap us with fees. They need to make money too, right?

That's where the beauty of Bitcoin shines. People aren't at the center of this ingenious structure; instead, a powerful network of computers and complicated algorithms run the entire system. Thus, there is no entity, like a bank or government, running the system. Bitcoin is run completely by its users. This will help us take back our control over the money we work hard for. We will be able to use our funds to our best capabilities, without paying the middleman."

Thought about this the other day, how many times do products are exchanged for money before a product reaches the consumer, and how much of that final price is the result of transaction fees. The impact on the price of products is probably fairly significant. From material harvesting, to manufacturing and the potential chain of manufacturing and transportation, to all the middle men along the way, and finally to consumer sales.

"Many see Bitcoin's main downfall as its unpredictability, especially in its value converted to U.S. dollars. At the moment, it stands just over $350 for one Bitcoin, but it has fluctuated from $7 to over $1,000. Bitcoin is a risk, I won't deny that -- but, as an entrepreneur, I'm used to taking risks. I have to, just like every other investor. And once Bitcoin stabilizes, the rewards will be worth the ride."

This is one of the biggest issues we see as well, minimizing unreliability will be an important part of strategy.

Coinbase may not be available in your area to obtain bitcoin. It would be interesting to let us know how your experience goes though. You may want to check into the credibility of this site for obtaining bitcoin:

Below is what I found as places where you can buy Bitcoin in Israel. I strongly recommend that you narrow them down to a couple and check them out first.

DNotesVault only accepts DNotes for storage. Our 100% coin matching guarantee commitment will become very costly if we accept other coins, including Bitcoin. We are doing it for DNotes as a unique feature not offered by anyone else. Consistent with DNotes' philosophy, we offer an array of services and ecosystem because of our long term commitment for the best interest of our industry.

I understand that you want to use the purchased Bitcoin to buy DNotes. If that is the case, you need to setup an account at Poloniex Exchange: https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_note
and generate a Bitcoin deposit address where you can send your Bitcoin to once you purchased them.

Another Canadian bank weighs in on the changes facing the banking industry:

BMO chief says banking industry may face a ‘decade of change’

Sweeping changes to the financial sector driven by new technology and shifting consumer behaviour will take years to play out, Bank of Montreal chief executive officer Bill Downe says.

“I can see a decade of change,” he said in an interview, suggesting banks have more time to adjust to increasing competition than some observers believe. “The art in this is going to be moving very quickly in the areas that have a rapid payback and not trying to introduce 100 new features if five matter.”

Canada’s big banks are making large investments in technology at a time when they are cutting expenses in many of the more traditional areas of banking as revenue growth slows and consumers do more of their day-to-day transactions online or with smartphones.

A recent study from global consultancy McKinsey & Co. said banks could lose up to 60 per cent of their retail profits over the next decade as tech-savvy players drive down the cost of many traditional financial services and capture market share.

"... banks “face a material threat to their most profitable business line, Canadian personal and commercial banking, from innovators who intend to fleece their golden geese.”

True or False:

All of the three following statements are "True"

A lot of bankers will be looking for new jobs. This will be the longest down trend in the history of banking. It will be a long tough ride.

Another area of interest that I have been thinking about is an ecommerce site that will be useful for DNotes and upcoming company. We have some ideas to make it attractive for using DNotes, but we also need to consider making it easier to use, less burdensome, and high traffic. If you have any ideas regarding:
Where can we start that will be easily scaleable into a full blown ecommerce site?
What can we do to make it easy for merchants to participate?
How can we make it more attractive to merchants over using eBay/Amazon?
If you prefer to email your ideas, rather than make them public you can shoot me an email as well.

Well, as an ebay seller and buyer and frequent user of Amazon, only one thing REALLY stands out in my mind: Keep It Simple! There are so many rules covering selling on those sites that you really don't know what you have agreed to when you sign up and it's even worse if you actually sell something.

Also, am I right in thinking we are not focusing on making a large profit from the sellers and buyers but looking push DNotes acceptance and value with these sites? If so, keep any fees low and simple with easy to understand terms. Pretend it's a face to face meeting place where one person sells something to another. No multi page agreements, no escape clauses, no endless protective wording and required formats, etc.

Keep the structure flexible, not rigid. Let parties agree to their own terms and don't limit them to only a few payment methods. Some of the things ebay got wrong include: (some items below apply to auction style listings)

1. Limited payment options. Still no Crypto and Paypal hasn't included it either.

2. Pages of legal terms that you agree to without realizing what have agreed to.

3. Rigid selling and buying structure. If you don't fit the mold, you will not have a good experience.

4. Required structure for resolving disputes. Sometimes nothing applies. Would rather work it out outside of ebay at times. ebay is not my mother, I can work with the other guy and resolve as we see fit.

5. Seller and buyer ratings. This may sound like a good thing but, it really isn't. Most feedback is crap and if some doesn't like you they can make real trouble for you.

6. High selling fees and a percentage of the final sale can really kill you on marginal items with expensive shipping. Flat rates would be fine if we are pushing DNotes use.

7. Easy and simple site. It doesn't need to complicated. People should be able to get in and out quickly.

8. Have some form of reporting system for bad actors but allow (if you are considering auctions) but keep it simple and personal. No "feedback scores" Perhaps an overall satisfaction rating.

On the other hand, Amazon does a pretty good job of selling without much BS involved. Following the basic structure of their business model would not hurt.  Smiley

My 2 cents...

Thanks RJF, that is a very well thought out post and I agree on every point, being an eBay/Amazon seller myself. It will be for profit and rolled into the upcoming company, but it shouldn't require such hefty fees. If fact, the profit model has been an ongoing topic of discussion, how it should be structured without hindering business while making it make sense as a business and for potential investors.

There are many aspects of why. To support and continue growing the company which will in turn help support DNotes the currency. Help grow the DNotes economy in multiple ways. Build relationships with small business and help them grow with DNotes and our programs. We also have a passion for commerce, small business, and optimization.

Thank you, RJF. You have covered a lot of excellent points. Ebay was a great revenue channel for many small business owners years ago. From our own experience, they have progressively turned into a nightmare till the point we just gave up on them. To say the least we will have a different model. Ideally a win/win model. We will treat small business owners, our customers, like they are our best friends.

Our philosophy is quite simple. We are passionately committed to help small business owners to be successful. In turn, they will help DNotes to be successful and they will use DNotes as a medium of exchange one day. However, good things do not happen overnight. We are very disciplined in positioning DNotes and our ecosystem correctly. A lot are being planned for 2016. We can go slow or scale up rapidly, depending on many different factors. Flawless execution at the most opportune time is instrumental to business success. Of course, there are many other contributing factors. That is what my book will be about.

Personally, I would like to see it cover more college football news as well. For instance, have I mentioned that my Iowa Hawkeyes are 10-0?

I would have enjoyed some coverage on Democratic primary debate on CBS last night. I don't believe that I could beat Bernie Sanders' entertainment value. He might be thinking that Jamie Dimon of JP Morgan Chase should not keep more that 10% of his earning for wishing Bitcoin not to survive.

"I'm Not Much Of A Socialist Compared To Eisenhower" “We have not come up with an exact number, but it will not be as high as the number under Dwight Eisenhower which was 90 percent,” Bernie Sanders said during the Democratic primary debate on CBS.

We need a lot more testimony like this one.

"Bitcoin is the new worldwide currency. … Bitcoin is the answer we've been waiting for to our monetary problems, especially internationally.….. We will be able to use our funds to our best capabilities, without paying the middleman. …The elimination of hefty fees alone is enough for businesses to want to get involved with Bitcoin. Less transaction fees and more availability for customers around the world only opens up windows for your business that other competitors may not have even thought about.”

And best of all he is using it as a merchant. “Restaurantware, accepts Bitcoin through PayPal, an easy and painless process for our Bitcoin-using customers and us. As entrepreneurs, staying on top of the latest technology and developments is vital for success -- and Bitcoin is the hottest trend right now. Adopting Bitcoin in your business is by far the smartest decision you can make today."

We believe education of the masses is key to bringing digital currency to the mainstream and the DNotes Educational Guide is a great place to start learning…

Do not look to your bank or some other financial institution for advice or education, they do not really like the idea of a decentralized digital currency and are doing their best to downplay Bitcoin right now… If you want accurate information from a well respected and trusted source in the community the DNotes Educational Guide can provide you with all of the information you need to get started with digital currency.

Royal Bank of Canada Exploring Blockchain Loyalty Program

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) president and CEO Dave McKay called bitcoin's underlying distributed ledger a "quantum innovation" during a roundtable discussion today.

At the RBC Capital Markets conference in New York, McKay discussed RBC’s ongoing experimentations with the blockchain, stating that the bank may seek to launch a loyalty program that uses the technology sometime in 2016, American Banker reports.

In his remarks, McKay indicated he believes the bank’s experiments with the blockchain need to be introduced with "caution", echoing statements made by the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) commissioner earlier this week.

"It is a brand-new technology, and what do we really know about it? How cyber-secure is it? We are going to learn a lot more about it," McCay said. "Given what is at stake, it is not something you can rush to market with and fix as you go. You want it to work."

According to American Banker, McKay suggested that RBC was currently looking for low-risk ways to introduce its customers to the technology, and that it felt a loyalty program was the best fit at this time.

He stated:

"It would be a nice hybrid step. A loyalty account is a good, safe currency to start with."

McCay was less interested in bitcoin’s use case as a digital currency, according to the report, noting that he doesn’t believe this application solves consumer problems.

Notably, RBC was one of 13 major banks that announced a partnership with distributed ledger startup R3CEV this September. R3 that has so far attracted 25 of the world's largest financial institutions.

As such, McKay stressed that a collaborative approach was perhaps the best way for the technology to reach mass market.

According to company estimates, RBC is the largest bank in Canada by assets and market capitalization, employing 78,000 workers and boasting $343bn in assets under management as of the end of 2014.

I agree with the "quantum innovation" statement and starting off with a loyalty program sounds like a good idea, but there is one statement that simply isn't true.

"McCay was less interested in bitcoin’s use case as a digital currency, according to the report, noting that he doesn’t believe this application solves consumer problems."

What are the consumer's problems with banks?  There are the high fees and high interest rates on borrowed money, but virtually non-existant interest paid on savings.  What about the loss of purchasing power because the banks / governments inflate the supply of fiat, and since the banks deal only in fiat, everything they touch diminishes the consumer's savings held there.  What are they going to do to give the 2.5 billion unbanked people access to the global economy??  Nothing!  The unbanked will not "qualify" for banking services, but digital currencies like bitcoin and DNotes do not discriminate against the poor and allow anyone access to them.  A blockchain loyalty program isn't going to address any of these issues!

RBC using the blockchain is about RBC and the little spin that it is in the consumer's best interest not to use digital currency is garbage!!

Chase, I share your frustration of RBC and other banks’ “little spin that it is in the consumer's best interest not to use digital currency” and “Bitcoin’s use case … does not solve consumer problems.” Yet, they are impressed by the “quantum innovation” and ready to embrace it. I am never convinced that bankers ever act in the best interest of the consumers. That is so beyond them. I wish that they can at least be honest about.

Their stripped down approach in using just the blockchain component of the technology will give them some limited efficiency improvement at best, but could have a lot of unintended consequences. Bankers are inherently greedy and will exploit any leverage they can get away with. I am just not comfortable with their “semi transparent permission chain” concept. I got the feeling that they are not comfortable with it either and hence proceeding cautiously.

Even in the best case, they are still using a centralized fiat currency and not a decentralized digital currency like Bitcoin and DNotes, where the owners are their own bankers. They can bank directly with one another without the control of the bank, the middleman. Yet they do not need to know one another - their peer to peer distributed consensus ledger is always verifiable and cannot be shut down by any bank or government. Everything is totally predictable, visible, and verifiable with nearly zero cost.

Sure, there are similarities. But one can argue that a bicycle and a car have similarities too. They can both be used as a mode of transport. They both have wheels. In this case the “permission chain” or a stripped down version of Bitcoin, is clearly the bicycle and DNotes is the car. I was perfectly happy to use a bicycle during the early years of my life. By today’s standard, it’s out dated.

Scams and pyramid Scheme such as MMM are very damaging to our industry.
Although the market value of Bitcoin coin has gone up, the vast majority of altcoins, including DNotes have declined.

Long term stakeholders should just wait it out. Being a decentralized currency the impact is even more significant in a confused market caused by manipulated supply and demand. Over time it will adjust to the level it deserves. DNotes is significantly undervalued at the current price, even though it has remained to be one of the top 30s according to CoinMarketCap.

Russia Warns About MMM Collapse In China

Yury Chikhanchin, the Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service inRussia warned about the future collapse of the MMM Pyramid Scheme of Sergei Mavrodi in China. Mr. Chikhanchin explained the risks at the conference "Risks and Challenges for the economies of the BRICS", wrote TASS.

Yury Chikhanchin commented:

"From the media, we know that MMM, with Sergei Mavrodi in charge, is currently expanding its activity in China. Russia has witnessed the collapse of a similar system by Mavrodi in the past, and thousands of defrauded investors still cannot recover their money until this day. I'm afraid our Chinese friends will face the same outcome."

According to Mr. Chikhanchin, the low level of financial literacy within the population often leads to the growth of economic crimes and frauds. However, he believes that this is a problem not only for developing countries but also for mature economies.

MMM also works in Indonesia, South Africa, India, Bangladesh, and Ukraine. On August 1, Sergei Mavrodi held a presentation of MMM in the Kingdom of Lesotho, South Africa.
Fool me twice

MMM China presents itself as a "community of ordinary people who selflessly help each other" and not as an "investment fund with higher stakes" which it used to be in Russia, wrote TASS. The organization promises 30% profit per month as new fund investors send bitcoins as a means of "mutual assistance" to those who became the members of the pyramid before them.

Previously Sergei Mavrodi stated in the interview to Finance Today’s Izabella Kaminska that he is the man behind the Bitcoin rally in the beginning of November. She's not the only one, as there are some other experts whosuppose that the recent Bitcoin price fluctuation could be caused by MMM activity in China.
Yury Chikhanchin from Russia’s Federal Financial Monitoring Service is not the only person to warn citizens of China and other countries targeted by MMM about the dangers coming from this “transparent” Ponzi scheme. Bobby Lee, the CEO at BTCC issued a warning to his customers and bitcoinCT r:  3investors that BTCC is in no way affiliated with such schemes.

Some people don't change
MMM company founded by Mavrodi has been recognized as one of the largest pyramid schemes in Russia. According to experts it had about 10-15 million depositors in 1989-1994. After the company's collapse in February 1994, at least 50 people who deposited their money in MMM have committed suicide. The investigation recognized more than 10 thousand people to be the victims of this Ponzi scheme company, but according to some experts the number of defrauded investors is actually closer to 10 million.
Mavrodi tried to escape the investigation but was caught in Moscow with a fake ID and arrested in January 2003. In April 2007, the court found him guilty of fraud and sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison.
CoinTelegraph recommends everyone to stay away from MMM Global, a suspected scam company being run by a known convict.

Bad ideas are not uncommon, yet projects based on bad ideas are launched all the time, often with very costly results. MintChip was an interesting but still a bad idea. At least the Canadian government recognized it early enough and humble enough to give it up. Scotland will not be the last nation tempted to create their own digital currency. It is a very tempting concept for politicians to create money at the push of a button. Personally, I believe that the associated risk for any single nation to create their own digital currency is so high, taking it seriously should be construe as irresponsible. Any significant mishap could cause its citizens to lose their life savings.

Whether it is Bitcoin, DNotes, or another digital currency, being a decentralized digital currency not owned by a single nation or entity is the commanding characteristic that makes it potentially superior to fiat currency. Being a global, instead of a localized currency, makes a world of difference in spreading its value and risk, avoiding the possibility of a catastrophic collapse.

We, at DNotes, strongly believe that the best solution is to create a privately held company with sufficient self-interest to promote and protect the best interest of DNotes as a trusted global decentralized currency for everyone worldwide to participate. DNotes will own up to 25% of this company. This is our mission and we are passionately committed to DNotes to be worthy as a supplement to any national or fiat currency.

Chris did an excellent job. A must read for everyone:

“But while MintChip had many positive attributes, it rather missed the point of true cryptocurrencies. First, value was injected into the system, and controlled by, the Royal Canadian Mint at all stages. This value was not inherent to the cryptocurrency, but was subject to the fluctuations and exchange controls of the Canadian Dollar. MintChip’s utility was therefore limited to being a digital medium of exchange for use within Canada’s borders. True digital currencies, however, represent a store of value and medium of exchange that is independent of the prohibitive transaction costs and the many issues associated with exchange rates. Thus, true cryptocurrencies go a long way to circumventing the barriers presented by national borders, globalizing small-scale transactions and representing an opportunity to make international trade cheaper, easier and more democratic. Without these global advantages, MintChip could only offer a small sample of the advantages associated with Bitcoin, DNotes and other cryptocurrencies.”

No one can say with certainty why the price of Bitcoin shot up to $500 and fell back to $300 almost as quickly. Personally, I believe that it is mainly due to the Russian/Chinese pyramid scheme, MMM, Bobby Lee of BTC China warned about on Oct 18-2015:  BTCC CEO Bobby Lee Warns Bitcoin Investors about MMM Ponzi Scheme - http://cointelegraph.com/news/115425/btcc-ceo-bobby-lee-warns-bitcoin-investors-about-mmm-ponzi-scheme

This is very damaging to the entire industry and will slow down mass acceptance of digital currency as a medium of exchange. The endless parade of get rich schemes is quite troubling. It makes it significantly more difficult for other coins to maintain stability as reflected in CoinMarket Cap. This is a short term setback and should not come as a surprise.

We recognize this as the biggest hurdle to overcome before DNotes can be viable as a medium of exchange, and elected not to push it until we are better positioned to do so. Hence, we have been investing in building our own ecosystem which we believe is instrumental to our long term success. Our strategic plans and execution are proving us to be correct at every turn. Our phrase II plan that includes the launching of a for-profit company will paint a much clearer picture.

I am a big fan of Brian Armstrong and Coinbase. I will be just as happy if his wish for Bitcoin would come true but I am of the opinion that because of the uncontrollable and highly speculative nature of Bitcoin, mass acceptance of Bitcoin continues to remain remote.

{Brian Armstrong—the CEO of Coinbase “ultimate aim is to turn bitcoin into something that anyone can use to more easily store, send, and receive money. “We want the world to have an open payment network,” an Internet for money ….

He very much believes that alternative uses for the blockchain are just a stepping stone to the adoption of bitcoin as a currency.

"Whatever I can do to help on Cryptopia, just let me know."

[Warning: Mark is the beginner-est crypto trader on the planet, but he has competent partners.]

One of two things happens when a new pair goes up.

The first is that enough 'outsiders' buy and sell at the initially too-high and too-low prices to bring the buy-sell split in line with that cryptos' other exchanges. At that point, that crypto is 'primed' on that exchange (and those community members who sold and bought at those too-high and too-low prices make a penny out of newcomers to the coin -- ahh! an insight into the moralities of coin communities!)

[E.g.: at this second, NOTE is 2797-2661 on Poloniex, but 2900-2211 on Cryptopia.]

The second is that committed members of the community pile in on the new exchange, and buy and sell themselves at those too-high and too-low* prices, thus closing the gap.

[Tee hee] I've been watching and waiting; but [sigh] okay, I'll go this second, and start 'packing the gap.'

Mark (IndiaMikeZulu), Australia

*The 'too-low-ness' depends on whether you have available at this second Dnotes that you paid less than 2900 for.

Thanks, for helping out, Mark. We appreciate that very much. I wish I have more time to post but I am committed to get my book completed by the end of the year. It is written to be of significant help for small business owners, including women small business owners and their employees. We will gear up to start working with many different groups beginning early next year.
