1441  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 09, 2023, 07:44:30 AM
No matter how early, regret always comes late. Gambling is one activity that has the highest publicity. From childhood, people hear about gambling or see elderly people winning big in gambling. And the news circulates in the neighborhood. It'll be hard to grow up in a gambling-legalized country, and won't get to know gambling. However, knowing about gambling is also different from engaging in gambling. However, people who participate in gambling and have misbehaved due to their lack of gambling control, then battle with addiction, will regret knowing about gambling. But the common circulation of regrets after losses by a gambler doesn't sound strong to me, as they'll go back to gamble again. Most gamblers only have to regret it for a few days and don't understand why they're gambling again. Hence, when people regret being gamblers, they don't stop gambling in the long run. Staying close to gamblers, even as gamblers, at some point, we regret playing gambling with the money we would have used for some other things. I think it's mainly part of the fun. Humans are like that. After a bad experience, we'll say we are not interested, anymore, in a particular habit. But find our self engaging in the same habit again.
1442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are slots hard to understand on purpose? on: December 08, 2023, 11:49:29 PM
Gamblers fight directly with the house tooth and nail in slot games, with the odds mainly against the gambler. The more you gamble the more difficult it gets to win. That's why as a slot player you must limit the time spent, gambling, as the house edge could be a 2% winning possibility for the player. So, no need to feel bad about losing too much in the slot, or the complications involved in playing slot games. In the slot, the terminology, enjoy gambling erupts. Because if you are the type who doesn't enjoy playing slot, you'll go home very sad, due to multiple losses. I experience this a lot and battle it with playing smaller amounts. The casino can try to change my strategy by offering me wins, so that I'll wager more amount. That's where we slot players test the mansion of confidence in us, whether it's well built or just vulnerable and can be swept away by the tricks of the casino. Additionally, don't switch from one slot machine to another. Try to understand a specific slot machine or slot game. Unless you know the house edge placed on a slot game by the casino, don't place too many bets on that machine or game. Most house edge is half of one percent, you can read or research on how housing edge can be calculated. It'll help you have a clearer view of what amount to expect from the casino and how much they'll make off every single bet you stake on the slot machine. I think with this information, getting the house edge right, you won't bother about the complex nature of slot games and just enjoy the fun. Like you're playing some video games expecting to win money some days.
First the difference between slot game and dice is in the luck factors and that is why,  gamblers have higher chances with dice more than slot because with dice all that the gambler need to have a winning is the luck factor and in dice the house edge is truly minimal this is why its easy for the gambler to have higher chances of winning when playing dice more than he will have with slot.

Sometimes you need some level of skill to play slot game and that is why the house have a high impact and interest in the game unlike dice where all that is needed is just to roll the dice and hit the lucky number to make a winning.

Those skills are what is been required of a gambler to know regarding the house edge and calculating how it can yield them wins, it's very crucial. I think dice are also manipulated by the casino somehow. While I was reading about using Dice rolls to create a private key, they're cases where people could predict what the outcome of a die would be, maybe the fault could be from the manufacturers; unfair die. Somehow the casino can manipulate it, but people would argue it's not possible. However, the dice games are easier to win compared to slot games. But the required skills aren't going to give us more wins compared to the number of times we'd lose money playing slots. Players will always find it difficult to enjoy slot games unless they join a comp club. Then it'll be easier for them to benefit too much while playing slot. Slot games are better played offline, in casinos, where the player would be rewarded per points and given free hotel rooms, food or even show tickets. As for online players they just have to enjoy the game win or lose.
1443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: December 08, 2023, 11:29:50 PM
Health benefits ? How about getting depression and all that dark stuff ? Gambling should be just a fun gateway where you can relax a bit , gamble some money and be on your way but nowadays people are super addicted to gambling , they are having mental health problems and this is just sad but finding benefits is really hard when you just gamble besides the dopamine effect you get when you actually win a ticket but after the effect is gone , you will chase that moment over and over again.  Cry

Gambling benefits include critical thinking, and the importance of gambling exists, the problem here is that many people already have bad experiences with gambling, so they go about telling people about how bad gambling is to them. And since many people already have these in mind, when they go into gambling they'll be facing more troubles as well. It's good to see these benefits of gambling, being disseminated amongst gamblers. So that they'll be able to understand gambling is not only affecting human's brain. They're some good aspects of gambling. That's why many CEOs and managers also participate in gambling. Those who spoil the concept of gambling don't have enough control. Not speaking against the effect of gambling on addicts, but it's safe to say that, the whole ball was on their court. In the same way, people benefit through gambling others face difficulties as well. It's quite obvious the bad PR allocated to gambling is flying faster than the importance of gambling. If people understand they can get relief through gambling and enjoy these benefits listed in the article shared by OP. They won't bother so much about making money off gambling. This is one reason why they always get addicted to gambling. Hence, every gambler should also understand that gambling is good and adds value to a healthy life. Uninformed gamblers focus on chasing losses and seeking quick money-making methods, instead of taking it bit by bit and observing the help gambling is adding to their life. Having fun is healthy. Whatever people face in gambling is self-inflicted.
1444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: December 08, 2023, 10:52:58 PM
I have seen it only in the movies and even in that the end result wasn't good.
Nobody in their right mind will ever finance a gambler because it doesn't make any sense. Instead of financing a gambler he can gamble himself.
Let's consider someone says his luck is good but even in that case why would the gambler not use his own money.
Yes, it's true. It is better if he gambles with his money rather than lending his money to other people who will later also use it for gambling. It does not make sense to finance a gambler because, after all, the results of gambling may not be good, and they will find it difficult to win. And if they don't win, they will only lose their money and won't be able to return the money. People who want to borrow money to gamble can borrow from banks or other places, so they can't get the money if they don't provide collateral.

Such practices will only cause trouble for both friends. If the person doesn't win any money the rightful owner of the money won't feel happy about it. The other person may not be a gambler but has been convinced by the winning stories of his friend. And wants to give it a try. He may have developed some sweet syndromes, thinking about how big they'll become if his friend wins. So, to some, it's not their fault that they financed the gambler. And the gambler won't take the blame either, thereby ending the relationship. Hence, it's not advisable for a non-gambler to finance a gambler. Suggesting gambling with the money instead, it's not possible for a gambler to finance another gambler. Everyone will prefer experiencing the fun, and winning themselves. Only newbie players will prefer handing out their money to another gambler, as they don't, yet, feel familiar with gambling.

As regards to borrowing money, compulsive gamblers who look for deceitful methods of taking people's money, will not tell the money lender that they need the money for gambling. It'll reduce their chances of getting approved to receive the money. So, the gambler will need to do anything on his horizon to convince the person to lend him money. Giving meaningful reasons as to why they need the money. Most of them lose out all the borrowed money and risk their life. As they'll feel vulnerable for owing a huge amount, which they can't account for, how it vanished. Many gamblers in Australia left this world for such reasons. People are advised to conduct underground research on whom they lend money to, not to contribute to the despair of that person. He should be left with no money, then given money to gamble. Engendering his life and wasting money meant for society.

Hello everyone, as you can see I'm new here, I'm looking for recommendations for a game to bet some money that I don't mind losing, I would like recommendations and if possible a recommendation for somewhere that teaches how to play. Thank you very much. Grin

The gambler should avoid of the emotions in the gambling, you should learn this as the new gambler.Even if had loss money in the gambling, their was huge possibility for get back the loss money in the gambling. If the gambler get emotionally depressed after the loss,he will continue to the deposit from all their sources and many loans from their friends.

So finally the gambler will loss the money at each betting because of playing the gambling with emotions in the gambling site.So it was important to gamblers to be patience after their loss in the gambling sites.

By patience, do you mean waiting or continuing playing till they get a win? It sounds that way, but leaving the computer would be better advice for the gambler. Because of why they wait or screen or chat with other gamblers on the chat board. The newbie might go back to try some luck when others share their wins on the chat box. As a newbie, it's crucial he gets used to staying informed on different gambling strategies. Then practice with demo modes, when he's no longer comfortable with wagering money. Gambling only gets better when the gambler, enjoys every bit of the process. But, it requires consistent trial and error to get familiar with our gambling impulses. Gambling isn't something that needs a strong effort to control. The player only needs to always stay in control of his decision. Whenever he begins to doubt his decisions, he'll face problem gambling. About a gambling site to gamble, he can do some research on top review sites. Then choose old gambling platforms. When experiencing new challenges, the gambler needs to open threads and discuss with other gamblers regarding his new problems. He can be doing that until he feels a bit safe and responsible for every step he makes in gambling.

1447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Money laundering in crypto casino on: December 08, 2023, 09:44:32 PM
What's there to tell! Casinos has been laundering money even before the mixers came. That's why the government imposed so many rules and regulations to gambling platform and casinos. For the ultimate weapon KYC was implemented. That's how they were able to investigate suspicious activity. After all these dramas, money is still being laundered, you just didn't noticed it. For me I think casinos and mixers a very alike. In one you cannot see who got what, in one everything is exposed. But both of them are used for the same reason even though they were created for different purpose. Everyone knows it. From my experience I think the government won't shut down casinos because the casinos have the customers information which  the government can demand easily. But in mixers case what's gone is gone.

The government didn't shut down mixers in the first place. Hence, no need to wonder if the government will shut down casinos. Gambling is legalized in most countries, and the government earns lots of money through them. They may be hunting mixers because they don't make much money through those mixers. As everything happens hidden. The government is mainly focused on what they'll profit from any business or technology. If a business is successful and the government doesn't have a way of earning through it, the government will find a way of shutting it down. Don't you think that government officials also launder money using these mixers? Any business or body can be used to launder money. It's not a surprise to see you mentioned casinos as a way money launderers use to move or rinse money with no available traces. KYC only reduced the rate of money laundering, but imagine if a casino is owned by a team of money launderers will they need to bother about anything before laundering money? Many organized crime families make their money through casinos and launder money with the help of their member who owns the casino. I've read of crime families that use a member's gold business to launder money to Mexico. Does it mean that gold stores would be closed down because one store was found guilty of money laundering? Every niche has its downside because people in the business consist of both good and bad intentions. Mixers are great for maintaining privacy, which is the main aim of cryptocurrency. But, it's been misused, alongside bitcoin. So, the government will keep on hunting them to seize the money they've made through the business. Then resell the seized bitcoin for profits.
1448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Crypto gambling on: December 08, 2023, 09:26:47 PM
Playing gambling is not bad as long as someone can use gambling well and not exceed their limits. But what happens is that many people forget to control themselves and instead spend a lot of money gambling because they want to win big.
Nothing is bad if it's not done excessively, which is also the case with gambling. As long as you are gambling for fun, not spending all your time and money on it, and just keeping it as an activity instead of making it a habit and giving it the time and money you need for something else, that is when things start to become worse and you lose control of yourself and your emotions and the worse part of it all, you don't realize what you are doing until you completely ruin everything.

As people always say, gambling addiction is a curse, and when people call something that, it means you should stay away from it. So, it's true that gambling isn't very bad but only until you have it under control, not when it has you under control because in that case, you are not you anymore.

Online casinos may have increased the rate of gambling addiction, but it all relies on the gambler. Just like social media users who are constantly reading posts on Facebook and Instagram. Aren't these people addicted to social media? Whatever is gluing them on social media is also meddling with gamblers. The only difference is that gamblers have to wager money while staying glued to their gadget. And whenever someone is losing so much money, they tend to get angrier. Because lots of responsibilities are left untouch, and it piles up. When they try to solve some problems the urge to gamble with the money calls on the phone. The addict doesn't have any reason to ignore it, as it seems to be a source of happiness to them. Hence, the addicted player fails to understand that the money they've lost in gambling is messing with their mental health. Think about a broke man, he stays hungry and angry at the same time. He doesn't think straight until he's back on money. When a gambler goes broke, he won't be happy, back on funds, he'll be happy for a few seconds until gambling sweeps the whole money off. They now live in complete sadness, not being able to help it.

Waste of money is the only difference between an addicted gambler and a social media addict. Meaning that our gadgets come with easy accessibility, putting humans completely dependent on the gadgets for fun, information and even work. Billions of people can't go a day without spending significant time on a specific website. So, in terms of a gambler, it gets to a point when the gambler won't stay a minute without paying a visit to his online gambling site. Then he participates in gambling. He'll lose out time management, and also money management, which should be the major concern. The problem with gamblers is almost every social media user's cup of tea. How do people feel when they lose their phone? The self-control is almost removed, we'll only stay safe when the money management is intact. Gambling is good, but addiction is bad when the money is wasted putting the player in a deeper anger and emotional challenge.
1449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 08, 2023, 08:55:06 PM
The issue about loneliness make someone gamble more is of a fact and I have indeed experience this myself. We tend to do crazy and stupid things when we are void and have the thought of doing things to keep ourselves occupied. Gambling is one of those activities that keeps so many people occupied, especially when the session of gambling favours you, I mean you can go all out gambling morning to night just because you don't have nothing to do and because the gamble you are playing is occupying your mind.

You are absolutely right, @DaNNy001. Like I said before, it depends on the individual and what their actual drive is. So people have the rest for different things and what actually drives them so easily. Loneliness can make some people addicted to social media, movies, watching TV, and so many other things, and for those who are gamblers, they can get addicted to gambling if they are lonely and also have the funds to gamble with. For example, I could be a gambler, but I might not have the funds to gamble with, so even if I am lonely, there's no way I could get addicted because I don't have the money to do so.

It is true that you can be addicted to anything when you experience loneliness and you do it to get rid of the pain you feel, the sadness that surrounds your heart in other words to forget even for a little while. You do that thing because he fills the sadness you feel. There are many people who are addicted to gambling and drinking alcohol and the bad thing about that is that if you don't have control over yourself, it can ruin your life.

This thread is a reminder that something triggers the urge to get addicted to gambling. In the situation of the guy in Op's story, he began when his wife left. He needed a companion to stay completely clear from gambling, when he had none, the urge to gamble erupted and within a few weeks he became a victim of gambling addiction. Gambling too many times due to loneliness, the habit can be crossed to video games. Instead of wasting money on the process and at the same time risking mental health. And if the person doesn't gamble to his satisfaction he won't stop for the day. Then, first thing in the morning they'll need to finish up, where they stopped the previous day. It's quite impossible to have control over gambling addiction. The addict is now vulnerable to gambling and will keep up with it, gambling now feels like the air he breaths. A times when with no money, the gambler can be pushed to take loans to finance his habit. Not everyone will stop when the money is exhausted. Emplacing gambling as a companion sounds boring, a responsible player will easily get fed up. Nothing stops us from meeting new people and engaging with them. Building our social skills is very important, as it'll help us avoid some bad habits loneliness can cause when we are lonely.
1450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Aspect of Sports Betting or Casino Gambling Posed a Challenge for You? on: December 08, 2023, 08:34:38 PM
Playing slots has always been a challenge, tried it with my girlfriend and figured she is quite good in slot games. Her numerous wins in demo modes, helped me to try out slot games. Although in different forms, not exactly the one she played. Moving further, I read a book on slot games, and how slot machines can be manipulated to eat up the gambler's money without returning any win, how gamblers can take advantage of a bad slot machine and the house edge. These factors helped to reduce the challenges I had in gambling. Never was good in sports gambling, due to the odds. And I prefer watching matches with a free mind.

While trying to master Roulette games, choosing the right number indeed posed a threat to me, I normally skipped them and went for a slot with a higher winning chance. Picking the red and black sides of the table helped me to stay winning in roulette games. Card games like Joker posed a threat because I feel people at the same table as me play better than myself. But, sooner I started winning, even to the championship stage, where I'd have to compete with the last man standing in the tournament. At the initial stage, every single game, normally, posed a threat, but continuing and trying again helped us to pose a threat to the game. While we try again, we must be conscious of our money or bankroll.
1451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: December 08, 2023, 08:18:36 PM
In my opinion making cash from gambling is not a good option and the statistical probability that you will win every game at every casino is very low. I think winning or losing every game is completely in your head, so your individual tricks are not there. However, we all have some kind of luck so we should strive for what is possible for us.

There is nothing wrong if you want to earn from gambling as long as you have a budget for it and it should be only 3%-5%, you should not exceed your budget. Always set a limit.
We all want to win in gambling and that will not be lost to a gambler. I believe that there are people out there who win a lot of money in gambling, not only do we know when we will win big, it is also true that gambling is all about luck, you never know when you will get lucky.

Winning and losing in gambling depends on how people manage risks and predict games. It's stressful to think gambling is mainly on luck. We gain authority in gambling when we feel in control of the game by devising a strategy to follow the house. Playing solely on luck wouldn't yield us enough profits. But, a gambler can have few observations on the game they normally play as gamblers. Given time, they'll be able to follow their instincts and try to win some more. Because we ain't sure whether we'll win or not, doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to win. Gambling to win money, isn't bad, abusing it is wrong. So, if a gambler turns losses to be win and win losses what would his reactions be? I think more happiness. As awkward as it may sound, the more we are celebrating losses we tend to win due to the benefits of a relaxed mind is calculated predictions. Playing games just because we want to gamble, can be different for individual gamblers. Some stake without calculating, for the fun. While others try to understand why their instinct suggests they play a specific game. Hence as gamblers, we have different motives and perspectives. Figuring out the unique reasons why people engage in gambling differs, but a good number play for the money. And also many gamblers have won big money via gambling. Where the game gets more interesting is, winning big more often. There the players don't solely depend on luck, but techniques and valid moves that'll help them stay rolling as gamblers.
1452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: December 08, 2023, 06:16:44 PM
Never set limits on win and wager for it. Next thing be careful with wagering contests, because those contest could end your wallet balance and what you win at the end used to be nothing. Never chase loss, take time and spend. When you were in loss you'll never know what you were doing. The mind will be completely focused on recovering the loss and the same could end up losing more. Take breaks, and make a comeback. At any cost never borrow money to spend. If you don't have money just keep rolling with no bet amount.
Everything you say is something that we should avoid when we gamble because that is what can make us control ourselves when gambling. We may experience a decrease in our level of self-control along with our gambling activities. However, if we are still aware and feel that we have had enough gambling, we can immediately stop gambling because if not, we could experience loss and it will not stop before we run out of all the money. When we experience loss, there will be an urge to recover from that loss by continuing to gamble. But we must be able to control our emotions and think clearly whether it is worth continuing or whether it is better for us just to stop gambling. And with the experience we have gained, we can think about stopping the gambling game and leaving the casino before we experience more losses.

Gamblers should easily avoid taking loans while gambling because it gets too difficult along the line when their payment is due. They have nothing to gain out of it, as only a few would win big using borrowed money. The idea isn't acceptable. If the need to gamble insists, they can easily play the demo mode. Chasing loss is becoming common amongst gamblers and the number of gamblers who make this mistake, fail to figure out how to stop it. Because they get tired when the money in their bankroll gets exhausted. A lot more things to avoid while gambling, include; unlimited gambling sessions, lack of self-control, not knowing when to stop, expecting quick money, etc. Those who gamble every single time, don't perform well in gambling. As their brain isn't settled, it keeps getting worked out till the gambler is stressed to the extent of not being able to control himself. Putting lots of load on the brain derails a good performance of the brain. Such players also forget about their daily activities, financial responsibilities, and hobbies. All-day gambling, apart from the waste of funds, contributes to addiction. The gambler rarely goes out to discuss with humans; friends or family. Soon the person can't get himself out of the developed habit. They start to struggle with changing themselves.

Knowing when to stop gambling is more like giving ourselves a few days or weeks' break from gambling. Recovering with our inner selves, calculating how much was spent in gambling, and taking a full rest, is crucial in reviving a gambler's sense of making good predictions. Nothing dwindles the life of a gambler like not being able to stop. I prefer the gambling strategy which requires a gambler to gamble for 4 days, then rest for at least 2 days before going back to gamble. Then while on vacation we can gamble for a few months and then rest for another 2 weeks. Preparing the mind for a better gambling session. However, whenever we fail to practice these things, the brain gets so worked up that, the gambler gets confused about his new development. But, it then seems like an involuntary action, where the gambler is aware of his inabilities, but can't help it. Even when offered help, he can get offensive and blame his helper. It has a huge bad psychological effect on the player. Opening up would be his worst struggle. Battling with the therapist, and resisting therapy sessions. What would become of such a gambler if his actions were fueled initially, by borrowed money? wouldn't that be a double trouble? Gambling responsibly is excellent for us all. Everyone should stay clear of borrowing money to gamble. It isn't worth the mental disorder walking behind it.
1453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Math and Gambling on: December 08, 2023, 05:40:07 PM
You can't win gambling if you only know math. Gambling requires luck to win. Because we have seen that sometimes strong teams lose to weak teams. So it is wrong to say that only maths is required to win at gambling, you need both luck, maths and skill to win at gambling.
Not all gamblers know complicated maths but many knows only the basic like knowing the odds and calculating if how much rolls they can do to their designated capital. Despite of that, they can still be able to win because all of us has a luck and luck can come naturally. Maybe some are also skilful. That can contribute as well.

Skills and maths are I think more important in some gambling games, or gambling categories (e.g sports betting). While for the other, luck is the one that is more important. This is why it is being preferred by the many because it is effortless. And we know that it's natural for us humans to be lazy and poor in critical thinking Cheesy.

Yeah, mathematics has a gambling formula, in which mathematicians use probability to decide whether to place a bet or not. Especially in sports games. I've been around some mathematical forums where dice are manipulated using mathematical formulas. The odds are also calculated using math. This shows how glued gambling is to mathematics. It only gets better for intelligent mathematicians who can apply simple formulas before staking bets. Although not all games like blackjack can be won using mathematical methods. However, it requires time to become an expert in using those formulas. Not every gambler can utilize such an advantage in gambling. But, like Op said many gamblers quite have higher chances of winning big in gambling, using math. Luck is for nonmathematical experts, who still comprise of a huge number of gamblers across the world. However, those math experts still lose out in gambling, not that their formulas always predict games the right way.
1454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 08, 2023, 05:00:14 PM
Every gambler has experienced that. If you do/shown negative behaviour in front of your kid just because you lose in gambling, other gamblers can do much worse than that. I know someone who completely lost himself after having a huge loss. He unintentionally destroyed his laptop due to his anger.

Having a change in our behaviour is completely normal, we just have to realise that we should always control our emotions to avoid unnecessary bad things around us. I know it's not that easy, but it is also not easy if we possibly hurt someone physically or emotionally due to our anger. We can also unintentionally destroy our expensive things which is no one likes to happen.

Transfer of aggression is common amongst humans, not just gamblers. Displaced anger can be caused from the childhood stage, how parents treat a child can leave such a bad emotional behavior in them, when they get to adulthood. Many people who transfer aggression, lose good relationships and end up becoming sad people. It's good Op has noticed his disorder, and seeks help, as most people won't figure it out. Gambling can be a catalyst that triggers displaced anger. Which disorder, affects the people they're ushering the anger to. The recipient won't understand why their friend or brother is harsh on them. Therefore it develops confusion in the recipient's brain, asking themselves too many questions, what could be wrong, how did I go wrong? Now that Op is aware of his emotional disorder, he needs some rest, to deal with stress. He may have invested too many hours in gambling and figuring out analyses and strategies that'll work.

People who destroy their devices like you mentioned, should be suffering from a different stage of displaced anger, they are getting too aggressive. And need adequate attention, before it gets out of control. They can easily hurt loved ones in the process. Taking them to a hospital or a psychologist would be a good idea. I normally say that gambling contributes a little to most of the problem people think is caused by gambling. Anxiety and heartbreak cause addiction to gambling. You see that emotionally stable gamblers rarely get addicted to gambling, as their losses don't affect their joy or happiness. If you are close to such a person, send them a letter to visit a psychotherapist. What actually, led them to lose much money in gambling is mainly the problem not gambling. People also have purchasing problems, they don't know why they bought a problem. It's also a sign of psychological problems. Which needs to be looked into, and solved immediately. As they blame it on gambling if they venture into gambling and begin to spend their money on slot games.

It could be a challenge to the workers but that’s if they don’t know how to be committed to work. Your boss doesn’t have to be around you for you to focus or get your work done. Like I said, when one wants to work remotely, you have to respect your working hours because you’re paid for it, additionally, you should be committed to it whether it’s paid or free service. For those who can’t do the proper thing on their own, there are some company that won’t supervise you, but will fire you if they don’t see the due result.
If someone is responsible for their work, they will certainly complete their tasks well even if their boss is not near them because they are not doing work that is their responsibility to get recognition from other people because they are responsible for the work given by their boss.
I agree with you, being far from where we work, we have to be very disciplined in terms of time, because it takes time to get to where we work, so we have to be early to move to the place to work so that we don't get late to get to the place of work. If we cannot discipline ourselves during this time, our boss will certainly look for someone else to take our place at work.

Working from home should be a choice for some staff who are close to their place of work. However, some job openings are strictly remote. Many companies tend to send a few staff, maybe the techies, to work from home. There won't be any need for them to come to the office every day if their task can be achieved remotely. In a few conditions or scenarios, the staff can decide to work in the office if they choose to work remotely. With the excuse that he won't be able to work efficiently at home. Unless he's mandated to work from home regardless of his excuses, then he may have some grace period if he doesn't perform well, as he already submitted a request stating his reasons earlier. The company can be strict on those who accept to work from home but don't deliver a good job or miss work hours or Zoom meetings. Hence, it's crucial to open up to the company, if we can't be disciplined enough to do the work-from-home program. As cool as it may sound, working from home is not simple. We always need a supervisor present to perform a great job. Working from home is like becoming a semi-boss, who decides when to work or rest. The journey gets difficult every day, as the staff has been acquainted with working in the office. Being disciplined for a long, can be problematic when we do one thing for long.

I think your suggestion will be the best for a newbie to gamble on instead seeking for a gambling platform on the forum. There are of gambling platforms that are very easy to understand for a newbie to perfectly use them especially online betting companies.
That being said, I also want to suggest that you don't dive in to gambling without getting the basic knowledge of the activity as well as knowing the best precautions that'll help keep you in check as a newbie. A lot gambling addicts today are people who started gambling without a prior knowledge of how gambling works and and when to draw the curtain especially during the moments of loss. So if a gambler doesn't have the basic knowledge of gambling, it's absolutely unwise to start gambling without seeking proper basic knowledge.

They are not in the best place where they can learn a lot of information so maybe the next thing they need to do is to read more information base on the suggestion and discussion made here. And if they are consistently trying to learn a lot of things about gambling for sure in short time span they can easily understand how gambling really works. There are so many newbies got easily addicted without knowing anything since they are the one who's easily to get fooled and they didn't even realized that they are been caught up with the trap set by those people trying to influence them to gamble.

That's why for newbies to avoid any huge mistake they should gamble when they get enough experience since this could bring them more exciting feeling especially if they are familiar on the casino and its games then play casino games smoothly without encountering any issues.

I was having this conversation on a different thread and would like to say that knowing gambling is great, but its application is greater. Addiction most times isn't caused by lack of knowledge, anybody can become addicted to anything, despite being fully aware of the safety routines attached to it. Some safety methods of gambling when practiced will reduce the rate of addiction, yet I don't understand why most people don't follow instructions. Because in this forum, gamblers frequent this gambling section, and what is mainly discussed is gambling addiction. But, members still become addicted. Depression and hopelessness can push somebody into gambling addiction. Instead of tracing the root of the problem, they'll blame it on gambling. Then, the problem gambling boosts as the gambler tries to reverse the addiction or get cured. Gambling experience can be gotten by reading alone. Playing games often helps newbies to get experience in gambling.

Once the person, doesn't get addicted after some time, he can be said to have been experienced in gambling. Those who don't engage in gambling, but study every day about gambling and how to manage money will easily become addicted the season they engage in gambling activities. Unless they talk to people who are quite knowledgeable in gambling, they may not be able to control what's up for them at the time of gambling. A lot of them, lose huge amounts in gambling because it's not all about reading or studying the disadvantages of gambling. During gambling, lots of factors come into play, which can mislead the gambler to make the wrong decision. Some get disappointed as they don't seem to understand gambling. From what they've read, all the strategies don't seem to work.

A sympathetic gambler is deeply disturbed and needs mental help. Because they are close to becoming addicts and with no proper repercussions the person will continue to lose more in gambling.
They are already addicted and that is the reason why they are sympathetic, they wouldn't be that way if they weren't addicted to gambling or had already spent and lost everything they had. A sympathetic gambler is someone who has gambled and lost everything and is now gaining sympathy either through his condition or facial expressions as said by OP.

Do you know that, most gamblers don't read or research about the effect of gambling and why it was made? Only a few understand that it's for fun, millions of gamblers go there for the money. And end up disappointed.
Yes, I know, and I also know that those who do research and understand the consequences of excessive gambling also become excessive gamblers sometimes, it's not what they want but it's what happens because they lack the required level of patience and self-control to stay out of that red zone.

Assuming addicts researched before gambling and followed the strategies that help in avoiding addictions, they wouldn't have turned addicts.
As I said above, it's not just about knowledge or understanding, sometimes people become addicted even after knowing that they will get addicted if they do certain things and that is because they don't have a patient and disciplined nature.

After a few discoveries I found that you're right. Anybody can be addicted to gambling depending on different factors. Not just self-control, therapists say that we can get addicted without being aware. Maybe after some moments, the brain begins to act in unusual ways. The gambler now discovers he's addicted to gambling. But, won't have the courage to inform anybody or open up to family or others on the outside. In this stage of addiction, the gambler gets exposed to more problem gambling. Spending money without calculating and ends up becoming a sympathetic gambler. Then it could be a serious stage of addiction according to your context. It doesn't seem like the first stage of gambling addiction, where the player still enjoys gambling thrills and invests more time into gambling, and avoiding other social activities. Why I said something about sympathetic gambling as a way towards gambling addiction, before you changed my perspective, is that even newbie gamblers experience the same thing. Most people who we see wearing angry faces are new gamblers. Who have been disappointed, or carried away by thinking that they've not lost enough money like the other guy who just left. Hence, they'll trust trying more luck could bring a change to their current losing spree.

Then in the next process, the player will get desperate, seeking more wins, and hopelessness erupts in the life of the gambler. He won't see things the good way anymore. Gambling will be the priority on their daily list. So, not being aware of these things or the disadvantages of gambling doesn't make any difference for those who do? Don't you think a percentage of gamblers who do their research, escape addiction? regardless of the whole odds being against the player. I mean not everyone gets addicted, after discovering the importance of money management and practicing it. That is creating a strategy for limiting how money is spent. May be having a daily transaction limit on the bank account. At least the gambler is one step ahead of getting addiction, because his money gets cut, whenever he tries to gamble more than his daily limit. In my first response, reading and practicing what we've read is still effective. You're right, for those who don't practice what they've read about escaping addiction.
1458  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people ever get tired of trading bitcoin? on: December 07, 2023, 07:27:06 PM
People's interest can change in the market. Which is what balances the market. Difference in utilities.

No fud! just reasoning like an economists. Using their mathematical science. You can contribute or share you insights on Pareto principles; Pareto optimal and Pareto superior trades.
Why do people think that it is boring? I mean in order to ask if you could get tired of it, you must think that it is boring, I think it is one of the most exciting things ever and I do not think that it would be all that much of a difference in the end. I believe that we are going to end up with something that would be a bit more like fun thing to do for people.

People will trade more and more, because it's fun, did we get tired of trading in the stock market? We did not, it existed and will exist for times to come, I think crypto is like that too, and people should be happy about that, I think that's an important thing. I get that not everyone may think the same way, but majority of the people think of it like it is a fun thing. When the topic of discussion (in this case trading bitcoin) is this much fun, then it means that people will not get tired of it and that is why it is not going to be tiring anyone and people will not stop doing it at all.

Due to the fact it's money the idea behind the technology is unique, vast, and different from any other monetary system. So, saying people can't get tired of money. We always need money for our everyday life. Closely looking at the trend, many people ain't in the stock market like it was during the last decades. In the days of Warren Buffets. Gen Z is not interested in buying stocks compared to the previous generations. You'll notice that when new technologies appear in the market. People can move on depending on the interest we get in the technology. Nobody knows what's next. The market is open and large, many people have a lot money in Bitcoin. They are patiently waiting for a technology that'll substitute bitcoin, to invest money.
1459  Economy / Economics / Re: How to be more effective working remotely. on: December 07, 2023, 06:46:14 PM
The last line in your second paragraph is quite confusing. Could it be elaborated more, regarding the impact malicious people can have on the advantages of working from home? And how malicious people who work for a specific company from home, can affect the rules of their company. While you've got a nice regulation of your working hours at home, there should be a possibility of fewer distractions in your vicinity. Kids are my biggest challenge, whenever I work from home. Unless they are sleeping, I wouldn't have enough time to focus. Late hours are my best time, but I'd cherish to sleep better. The advantages you've mentioned are true, especially the house chores and the extended sleeping hours. Yet it depends on the volume of the work on our desk. Sometimes it gets too hectic that, those working in the office will have enough time than staff working from home. Especially during double-tasking. It usually feels like working from home changes the hand of the clock for such staff, but time still flies and they get caught up with lots of activities including the house chores.

Then inter-switching favorable habits won't help some staff, wonder how you're able to enjoy your habit alongside the tasks awaiting you every day to deliver to the office. I've noticed that staff who engage in recurring habits that require taking more sticks than one, end up falling asleep and running out of time. Thereby postponing the delivery hours on their schedule list or to-do list. Being able to control the urge to engage in such habits while in an environment where the person is allowed to practice it, is quite a higher level of self-control. Don't know if you understand what I mean, but it'd be great if you shared more, if you don't mind, about how your intake of sticks every day contribute in staying efficient while working from home. To many it'll be one big disadvantage, surprised you also turned it into an advantage.
I understand your problem with work-from-home distractions, especially with kids. A common challenge, right? Working from home is flexible yet blurs personal and business life. Malicious actors can exploit these blurred lines. They may use a remote worker's flexible schedule to overwork them because they're always available. This undermines work-life balance and creates unreasonable goals. We must defend defined boundaries and not confuse flexibility with availability. How about using technology to manage time? Setting office hours at home or using time-tracking apps might change everything.

I understand your concern about productivity despite constant distractions. It's difficult yet doable. Self-discipline and a good work environment are crucial. Can we design a temptation-free workspace? We must learn to equate that area with productivity. Moderation and careful decision-making are key to the stick habit. Though enticing, what if we used these pauses as incentives after completing tasks? This turns distractions into motivation. Finding the balance between discipline and indulgence that boosts productivity is key

Working around an environment with such distractions as kids and roommates doesn't have any solution to setting office hours with phones or laptops. The possible solution could be discipline as you said. Sometimes I'll put on headsets to notify people around that I'm not in for discussions or to avoid noises from kids. But, nothing is more effective like leaving the home to a nearby library or coffee shop. Where quietness and focus can be attained. Think of the fun we can get from kids, as similar to or above the distractions they can offer us at home. They can easily take away the headset or cry till we attend to them. Sometimes moving away from the house to a work conducive space is better. The second paragraph of your response is inspiring. The bigger distraction is our habits. Inbuilt behaviors control us from the inside. But when one applies the use of the habit as an incentive after completing our task has a huge advantage on the worker. It'll facilitate his energy during work so that they'll go and take sticks or do what pleases them.

I'm sure everyone must have experienced the disadvantage of such self control method. Humans who are deeply rooted in the habit can offer quantity over quality or inferior outputs to quickly end the tasks given to them and rush into the habit. Things like that can escape completely in an environment we are not allowed to practice it, like a shared office space. Otherwise, one day we can be carried away by the joy of the habit and perform below average. Thereby risking productivity in the long run, if the person now normalizes delivering low-quality results. And remember the boss may not complain, they'll think the low quality is fine with the company, hence it keeps getting worse day by day until their boss can't take it anymore. Some of these habits like smoking, sex, and tv shows can consume lots of time. Leaving the worker with little time to battle with the loads of tasks sitting on his table watching him enjoy his habit. I'm not generalizing this, but we can't determine when we'll be victim of such things, while trying to enjoy our habits at home where we work.

And only by limiting their gambling can they reduce the amount they lose. We must understand that gambling is not a way to make money. We can only use it as a way to get entertainment and nothing more.
Yes, limit gambling and limit your budget so that you don't play beyond your limits. Sometimes people always gamble beyond their limits because they don't limit their gambling budget. That's why gamblers often play uncontrollably and spend a lot of their money until they lose consciousness and become bankrupt because an addiction they never knew they had.

If people want to think like that, consider gambling as entertainment, maybe they won't play recklessly and beyond their limits, of course they will choose to gamble responsibly, therefore, never gamble if you can't control yourself because gambling is not a place for you. looking for money, when you experience defeat you should stop playing, not continue the game which will result in big losses. that's what gamblers must understand.

Sympathetic gambling is not encouraged in the first instance. Limiting money or playtime is a bit of advice for gamblers who need it. A sympathetic gambler is deeply disturbed and needs mental help. Because they are close to becoming addicts and with no proper repercussions the person will continue to lose more in gambling. Surprised to see such gamblers do exist, or is it just a normal way of gambling that ends up putting anger on the faces of those gamblers we see leaving in a hurry? They'll never value gambling as entertainment. Do you know that, most gamblers don't read or research about the effect of gambling and why it was made? Only a few understand that it's for fun, millions of gamblers go there for the money. And end up disappointed. Assuming addicts researched before gambling and followed the strategies that help in avoiding addictions, they wouldn't have turned addicts. Players go to the extent of taking huge loans to gamble. Limiting budgets wouldn't sound like good advise to them, because they need the winning to come so big. The reverse now becomes the case, as they'll be seeing the losses in huge amounts.
