14441  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Are Faucets Useful Now? on: December 27, 2017, 10:22:07 AM
With the bitcoin value sky rocketing, have faucets become useful and worth the time spent now?
And not only bitcoin faucets but altcoin faucets too, I think with such high value of every coin in terms of dollars, faucets can no longer be considered as a wastage of time.
What do you think?

As price of BTC and others coins go up rewards on faucets are going down,it is normal thing and only way how to keep them alive.People are tell that faucets are waste of time from time when price of BTC was just few $ and they tell same thing today.

I start with faucets when price is around 200-250$ and with one great rotator which allow you have refs I make 300 000 - 500 000 satoshi day,so calculate how much time I waste in those days. Also many popular altcoins like LTC or DASH was only 3-4$ a year ago and you can make very nice amounts of that coins from faucets.

Today faucets pay very low if you watch only number of reward, but in long term every satoshi can worth xx or xxx time more then is today.Just take my example,300k satoshi back in 2014 is worth less then 1$,today that amount is worth around 48$.

How much 100 satoshi BTC will be worth in next 5-10 years?
14442  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: BTC Electrum and BCH Electron Cash on: December 27, 2017, 10:00:16 AM
Hi guys, so from what I understand, these 2 softwares clash with each other initially when Electron Cash just launched.
I'm not talking about transferring woes but rather the technicality of these 2 wallets existing on the very same PC.

This was also one of the reason why most users who was using Electrum for their BTC didn't use Electron Cash for their BCH (Most chose some other wallet for their BCH at the start).

Is there still any sort of issue after Electron Cash actually actively update their code to the current latest version?

I can tell you from personal experience that there there is no problems with using Electrum and ElectronCash wallets on same PC.If something was wrong with ElectronCash in first version they fix it,and for version 3.0 of ElectronCash I can say it work 100% correctly. What most people do wrong is that they download fake BCH wallets and lost their coins, some others lost also BTC because they using seed/private keys with BTC balance.

Can it be any issue with ElectronCash latest version and Electrum 3 versions maybe I do not know because I am not using Electrum 3 for now.

I know it will not be confirmed for days because of small fee,so I will try your service or use CPFP option later Smiley
14444  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-26] Chinese Programmer Arrested Over ¥20 Million Bitcoin Theft on: December 26, 2017, 02:55:30 PM
Interesting story, people lose their BTC every day in various ways and this is certainly a very ingenious way to steal BTC,but still not brilliant because hacker made a big mistake by not hiding his tracks.I have to admit it's pretty strange to me that Dai was a programmer who can hack genuine wallet and steal such big amount of money, but in same time did not take measures to remain anonymous.

This story only confirms that people should trust only wallets download from legitimate page which provide ways to check signature and checksum files. In this case police find and probably will return stolen coins to owners, but most of time this is just one way direction-hacker steal-hacker keep.

Bitcoin 500k in Three Years   Predictions with Gold and Growth
https://youtu.be/AwgpkzCyvtI

Too optimistic speculation for me in this moment when we are at 15k$ level. This year was great for BTC in terms of price growth, the question is whether at least part of this growth happen in next year-if not then 500k$ in three years is just a nice dream.I personally think about 100k in that time period, because that is much more realistic.I think when BTC scalability problem is solved with Lightning Network we can expect big things, until then many small investors will turn more to other coins just because of lower fee and faster transaction.
14446  Other / MultiBit / Re: Problem with multibit on: December 26, 2017, 10:20:36 AM
Hi,

Few months ago, i format my computer and i forgot to save anything about multibit.
NoW, i just have my password and my bitcoin adress but i dont know the private keys
Sorry if someone ask already about that but im a newbie
Even i searched i didn’t find. Sorry and thanks if someone can help
Bye.

Password and BTC address does not mean anything, you need your private keys or seed to gain access to yours BTC.Since you format your hard disk months ago, it is difficult to recover data because they are probably overwritten many times.I would not say it is impossible to some data could be found, but you need to know how&where to search.

You can try to search "data recovery on formated PC" and you will see many options, depending on how much BTC you have in that wallet you can decide is it worth to invest time&money in an attempt to save lost data.
14447  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit v0.5 transaction not being confirmed HELP will pay you! on: December 25, 2017, 02:18:41 PM
Hello everyone..

I've found my old multibit key 2 weeks ago and imported it in multibit Classic. That all worked fine and well. Now I did not read enough so I made a Multibit HD wallet and tried to transfer it to there, did not know I just had to import my private key to an electrum wallet.. I made this transaction last week and just waited to get it confirmed. Since then I read a lot about Multibit and that it isn't supported anymore and so my transaction still is not confirmed. I don't really know what to do.

I made two transactions the first one to try if it worked, seemed to look good when it showed up in multibit HD but wasn't confirmed, then i made the other transaction with all my coins.

This are the transaction numbers

e1ddc1cd1842590e682b518b2de2feeeb1e6c256c0633a841df149147f55475b

f8983b0d6b07301931cd21344811c87b17e9969fb151ed97e7c986026555f655

I first tried to restore my wallet in multibit HD what didn't make any difference, and later on i restored my multibit classic wallet what didn't make any difference as well. In multibit Classic it says no balance and in multibit HD it says my balance but unconfirmed. Now i just exported my multibit classic key file and don't open multibit classic anymore.

Can someone help me with what's the best to do now? Just wait till the transaction is gonna be confirmed? Or can i import or restore a multibit HD wallet in electrum while it isn't confirmed yet?

I think I have done some stupid things..

Since you have MultiBit Classic you could only import you private keys in Electrum, but you pick MultiBit HD and now you have seed which you can use to restore your wallet in Electrum.I suggest that you do this, there will not be problem even if you have unconfirmed transaction.Depending on which operating system you are using download appropriate version of Electrum https://electrum.org/#home (use 2.9.3 for Windows 7&8)and follow this simple steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-KcY6KUVnY

Keep seed from Multibit HD because this will be your seed if you ever want to restore wallet.Regarding transaction, you pay very low fee and in normal way it will need long time for confirmations, but I will try to speed it up with some free tools and maybe you get lucky and get them confirmed even today.

Thank you very much for helping me out! I can see my wallet now in electrum, and one of the two transactions is confirmed! Guess I need to wait for the other one to confirm before I can see it in my electrum wallet?

You're welcome Smiley

I managed to accelerate first transaction,I hope to succeed with the other also.It is normal that you not see other unconfirmed transaction in Electrum-I have same situation and after confirmations the transaction appeared.

You can always check what is the recommended fee here : https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ Also Electrum will always show you recommended fee when you type amount for send, and you can click preview before sending to see size of your transaction so you can then adjust fee manually.
14448  Other / Off-topic / Re: what wallet can you recommend? on: December 25, 2017, 11:50:25 AM
Hi there,

i'm quite unsure about where to save my btc and eth. personally as i travel a lot i will have difficulties using a hardware-wallet, so i was thinking of a kind of mobile version. is there anything you could recommend?

Depending of OS you use in your smarthphone you can choose from 1 to 11 different mobile wallets.I never use any of them, but Electrum and Mycelium are very popular with users of Android OS.If you have the possibility I think you should definitely try them first to see if they meet your needs. Also be sure to always download original version and that your smarthphone is not infected with some malware.

For more info you can check here : https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/mobile/android/
14449  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Getting Bitcoin Cash out without seed on: December 25, 2017, 11:32:53 AM
Hey Smiley
I assume this is impossible, but I thought I'd take a chance anyway.

Situation is. I have an Electrum wallet WITH:
- Wallet
- 2FA activated, and I have 2FA

Which means I can see my public/private keys, but in the Electrum format.

I do NOT have my seed.

I had some Bitcoins in this wallet at the time of the Bitcoin Cash fork, and has since moved the Bitcoin to a safe hardware wallet.

However, while I assume all hope is lost, is there a way to get these Bitcoin Cash out?

From what I've understood this had been possible IF I had the seed, or just didn't put on 2FA. But since I have the combination of 2FA and no seed, this is impossible.

I'd of course be willing to pay for help.

Seed is most important thing when you create Electrum or any other HD wallet,if you have it claim of BCH it would be very easy. However chance to get BCH still exists, but you need to get second private key which is in control of TrustedCoin.I will not explain it in detail because HCP is explain how to do it here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2436831.0

So you have chance, now you only need some luck and time Smiley

i accelerated your transaction (c3ff0dfe1cc39344938f10b4a366f1044b5d5e75ba15a8d1288b4ff059443e5d) via antpool i will accelerated the other 2 later after the confirmation of your transaction

I try antpool few days ago and it not help me with my transaction in any way.I use Via and accelerated alivec first transaction so it should be confirmed with next block ViaPool mined. If you ask me most of these free accelerators not work, especially these days when a large number of unconfirmed transactions is out there.
14451  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Arbitrage between Korea and US brokers on: December 24, 2017, 03:32:19 PM
1.Korea is 30% more expensive than the United States. 2. You buy coins in the United States. I sell in Korea and withdraw money. 3. Divide your earnings by 1/2 4. We have huge profits because of continuous transactions.

Came on, dont you think that you are so clever because of that?

Let me tell you that most of the Korea exchanges are going to ask you for giving your identification, the KYC but from them, most exchanges from there are using that.

If you have to provide some ID's or whatever they ask you to give them, are you going to provide it? dont you know that most korea exchanges are created by normal people and they do not have a proper volume?

If they want to disappear, they can do it in just a few minutes.

Thank you, but that is too risky

What OP is suggest could work if he/she is from South Korea and can easy make account in domestic exchanges. There remains the question of trust and how will fiat be transfered between OP and his partner. Not so long ago one user open thread and asking about opinion to move in South Korea because of trading, and I think he have very good plan regarding this.

I bet that this we discuss here possible/impossible-some people use for some time and make nice profits.People always find some sort of solution to achieve their goal, and money is the biggest motivator in that.
14452  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-22] Belarus Legalizes Cryptocurr. and ICOs – Tax-Free for Five Years on: December 24, 2017, 02:58:37 PM
I think it's the second country in Europe after Germany that doesn't impose taxes on profits from cryptocurrency trading. I will have to start doing my research on the cost of property and residency in Belarus because it might be worth it to move there for a while if I ever decide to cash out my coins. Germany is still looking good, but the cost of living is probably much higher than in Belarus, and the political situation seems to be more stable in the Eastern EU. Who would have thought? Cheesy

I think Germany have some rules regarding tax on cryptocurrency,it is only up to 600 EUR of capital gains and 0% if you sell your cryptocoin one year+  after the purchase. But in that case I think you need to show some proof when you bought coins.

There is also some other countries where you can pay 0% tax on crypto profits,Denmark,Singapore and Slovenia as stated in this article : https://coinsutra.com/tax-free-bitcoin-countries/

If you ask me about paying 0% tax on BTC,I certainly consider some more exotic country then Belarus or Germany if one day I decide to sell my BTC Smiley

I love your website. Cool! I have to admit it.

Please I would like to add my faucet on your website bitcoin faucet list

1. Emmon faucet

http://emmonfaucet.ga

Faucethub micro payment system
10 - 50 satoshi every 12 hours.
10% referral earnings

2. Emmon Nigerian faucet
http://emmonnigerianfaucet.tk
Faucetsystem micro payment system
10-50 satoshi every 480 minutes

Thanks!!! Thumbs up!!

Hello,

sorry for late reply and thank you for nice words Smiley

I check your faucet and first one is open, even reward is too low for such long timer.Second one is blocked by my antivirus because of mining script you use there so it is not even open.In general I do not like that script because I always have problem with timer-you need to wait xx minutes even I not claim before.I will add your first faucet to my list today.

Regarding faucets, especially BTC/DOGE/LTC/DASH which have go up in price, rewards are go down in accordance with that+problems with high fees and unconfirmed transactions are disrupting faucet owners to refill their faucets.Be patient and focus more on other coins.I recently add BTX to my site so now all coins from FH are available for claim.

For first 10 comments here who post their DOGE address I will send some tips.Newbie accounts are excluded from this offer.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

14455  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger nano lost bitcoin on: December 24, 2017, 12:12:13 PM
i checked and the original address is in there. My coins are shown in the blockchain see below, i dont know how to read the info displayed here but i hope my coins are not lost in some frozen transaction.

what can you see here?

https://blockchain.info/address/3AzWaxhLJBdxPx7NakZ8F9XbmP2FoGg6n3

Your transaction is not confirmed and also you add very low fee, only 10.95 sat/B or in total less then 1$ worth of BTC.I also see that you try to send BTC from legacy address to SegWit address,do you send this BTC to yourself in Ledger SegWit wallet maybe? In that case you need to choose SegWit chain in Ledger Bitcoin Wallet.

If there is problem with Ledger try advice of bob123 and download Electrum and then connect you Ledger to see what will show to you.It is possible that reason why you not see transaction is just because is to many transaction unconfirmed and your transaction is removed from mempool so Ledger App is not see it any more.I also have one transaction which is not visible on Ledger(Electrum)but it is visible on blockchain.info.
14456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will lightning network be added to Bitcoin? on: December 24, 2017, 11:48:02 AM
Lightning Network is in the final stage of testing,so it is expected to become available during the next year.I think it is a bigger question, how fast will exchanges/wallet providers add LN and enable it to be used by all users.Considering how "fast" they are regarding SegWit,we should not expect some lightning speed regarding this issue.

I tested also LN and confirmation is instant, with this upgrade BTC would be moved to an entirely new level.I think it would bring a big increase in its everyday use as a means of payment.Buying coffee, newspaper or bus tickets would be something we could do pay with BTC without high fees and long waiting for confirmation.

You can try LN here : https://htlc.me/ and buy some Blockaccino&Espresso here : https://starblocks.acinq.co/#/
14457  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Bitcoin according to ...... on: December 23, 2017, 01:57:45 PM
This makes me think that it would have been better for Satoshi Nakamoto to patent the brand "Bitcoin".
This might be against his consept, but there are hundreds of forked altcoins called "bitcoin" and their number will increase. This creates confusion around the newbies and they might just abandon btc and use ethereum.
I still believe in bitcoin core, but it`s harder than before to use btc as a digital currency and buy goods and services.

I wish he did that, and I wrote that few times before. Most of old users know difference between forked and original BTC,but so many new users are completely confused about what BTC they should use.In that situation many decides to buy BTC which has a lower price and lot of money go in BCH&BTG pockets.Just imagine if new forked coins can not use "bitcoin" in their name, probably would not have 30% of value they have today.

Regarding real BTC,we know that is only one, what do somebody else think is his right or maybe problem if we look on long term.First BTC has been proven throughout the years,it is still alive and have great value. At this time there are big problems with slow confirmations and high fees, fortunately the solution to this problem is possible very close.
14458  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction, what to do? on: December 23, 2017, 01:39:10 PM
I have paid 0.002 btc withdraw fee from the exchange. BTC fall 3000$ since that moment so... I kind of need this money quite fast, I can send tips if someone can help me out with this transaction. So please if any of you know a way help me out.

You have paid 0.002 btc to the exchange as a withdrawal fee. But the exchange paid 0.00045 btc transaction fees.
If the exchange would have paid the full 0.002 as a TX fee it would go through a lot faster, but exchanges always retain a percentage of the fee.
You could try to do child-pays-for-parent (CPFP: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Fee_bumping), but with the current network status it would
probably eat up the biggest part of your withdrawn amount. So waiting / free accelerator is the most economic way to go.

I have tried to use viva accelator but everytime it seems to be busy.

I guess you mean viabtc (https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/) ? They have a limit of 1000 TX accelerations per hour.
Quite a lot people try to accelerate their stuck transactions these days.
You have to submit your transaction within the first few seconds of a new hour to get your TX confirmed within the next few blocks viabtc mines.

ViaBTC free accelerator have only 100 free slots every hour,or to express it more accurately they used to have such option in past.In last 5-6 days their tool is not working which has been confirmed several times on this forum, and I can also confirm that is not working.

Also Bitman(Antpool) and some other services which offer free accelerator not working, tested few days ago on one transaction and still nothing.
14459  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction, what to do? on: December 23, 2017, 12:00:57 PM
Hello,

I have a transaction on pending for days already, 4 days. I have paid a good ammount in order to withdraw and still nothing..

Is anyone here, PLEASE, that can help me to sove this transaction?

Thank you

https://blockchain.info/tx/2803288b09034411976de60ff3b38ac84e58c0580ede3df9a3862a8231685c30

In the current situation when we have 200 000+ unconfirmed transactions 4 days is "quite normal" time for pending. You think you pay good fee but 200 satoshis/byte is not enough for fast confirmation, today that amount is 950 satoshis/byte which make fee for your transaction in total 214,700 satoshis.

If you have option to increase the fee you can try that,or use some accelerator service. It looks like a number of unconfirmed transactions slowly decreases, with a little patience things could normalize in the next few days.

I have to admit that with regard to where this news comes it is surprising for me,that such we may say "no democratic" country gives such privileges to cryptocurrency.Such moves should attract foreign investors but also encourage locals to start jobs related to cryptcurrency,no tax for next five years means an excellent profit for those who know what they are doing.

This is in every case a good move of one government and I believe it will pay off in the end,for investors and for government.I wish we can see something like this in other countries instead of banning cryptocurrency and fight against progress.
