14461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IPL( Indian Premier League) Prediction Thread, 2018. on: May 15, 2018, 10:15:05 AM
I knew the chasing team would win but didn't know RCB would dominate the match like that , it boosted up their NRR which they needed badly .

My predictions for today -
KKR v RR, Who will win?

The Rajasthan Royals have won all three out of their last three matches, while the Kolkata Knight Riders have lost two. So as far as recent form is considered, I would say that RR has the edge. Some of their batsmen (especially Lewis and Kishan) seems to be in top form.
14462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 15, 2018, 10:09:48 AM
I think Pakistan has underestimated Ireland as being the new team at test match cricket and thought that they might get an easy win however Ireland has shown that they are capable of putting up a fight and may even win or come close to winning this test match. If Ireland can get a 200 run lead it would be tough for Pakistan to chase it down.

If Ireland gets more than 200 runs lead, then either they will win the match, or it will end up in a draw. But one of the disadvantages Ireland may face is that they lack a quality spinner for the fourth innings. But then again, the chances of an Irish lead of 200+ is now very slim, after Kevin O'Brien got out.
14463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can buy KFC chicken by Bitcoin on: May 15, 2018, 09:48:49 AM
Recently, KFC Canada has accepted Bitcoin payments for a short period of time. However, Bitcoin can only be used to place orders online, and only to purchase a new item called "Bitcoin Bucket". And all this special deal will be handled by Bitpay, a fairly common Bitcoin trading tool. Its really interesting news, I wish that I can also buy chicken with Bitcoin in my coutry.  Roll Eyes

Major (9 Billion USD)  payment provider Stripe has just announced today they stop supporting Bitcoin payments - they conclude it because fewer and fewer are using it, and at the same time fees and transaction times makes it useless as a means of payment. You can see the details on their own website: https://stripe.com/blog/ending-bitcoin-support

From what I have heard, the real reason was not the lack of users, but the high transaction fee. The fee hit a high of BTC0.001 to BTC0.002 ($20 to $40) per transaction in December 2017, and a lot of merchants and stores stopped accepting BTC after this.
14464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin VS. GOLD on: May 15, 2018, 09:45:22 AM
One thing I have noticed is that gold is also facing a lot of restrictions in many countries. India recently introduced new taxes and duties for those who want to purchase gold (both jewelry and bullion). The Chinese government is also getting more restrictive.
14465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mining , Is it worth it? on: May 15, 2018, 09:39:39 AM
I would love to say that mining is not profitable. But those guys persisted with mining in 2013 got huge returns after the exchange rates increased. But a lot depends on whether you are purchasing your mining equipment using Bitcoin or fiat cash. I would prefer the second option.
14466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty rewards Sell Immediately? or HODL! on: May 15, 2018, 09:28:49 AM
On top of what I said earlier, another factor needs to be considered. A lot many of the ICOs are over-priced and they go down by anywhere from 50% to 95% within the first few days of listing. In such cases, there is hardly any use in keeping these tokens with you for the long term.
14467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH or Waves? on: May 15, 2018, 08:32:55 AM
I would chose ETH over WAVES. Because Waves is becoming dormant now and although its user-base is not declining, the trade volumes are going down in a big way. It seems to me that Waves can't compete with some of its competitors and therefore lost the battle.
14468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get fast rich in crypto world. on: May 15, 2018, 08:27:51 AM
Crypto is like other investment assets. If you want good returns, then you should be ready to wait for some time. But unlike assets such as gold, the duration you need to wait is much shorter with crypto. If you don't want to wait for this duration, then you can invest in some ICO and risk losing all of your capital.
14469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum a threat to bitcoin on: May 15, 2018, 08:25:49 AM
The OP needs to change his statement by a little bit. Rather than "Ethereum a threat to bitcoin", it should be "Ethereum was a threat to bitcoin". And it never will be "Ethereum is a threat to bitcoin". ETH was threatening to overtake Bitcoin until mid-2017, but it lost steam soon after that. Now it is the turn of the other altcoins.
14470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did ETH changed crypto world? on: May 15, 2018, 08:13:22 AM
The entry of Ethereum changed the crypto-world for sure, because it was the first platform available for the launch of tokens (if I am not wrong). Ethereum allowed cryptos to be created, even if they lacked their own Blockchain. Now there are a lot of such platforms, but let's not forget the fact that ETH was the first one.
14471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you had $50, what would you invest in? on: May 15, 2018, 08:07:16 AM
Since the amount is quite low, I would rather invest in some smaller altcoins with a market cap of less than $100 million. Even better will be the ones which are having market cap of less than $10 million. Some of the coins that comes to my mind right now are Denarius, Bitsend and Deep Onion.
14472  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated: Guess who is Sicker? on: May 14, 2018, 06:09:58 PM
In a quick sanity check, it looks like prior to vaccination the rate of deaths from small-pox were averaging around 200-per-100,000

I don't know from where you are getting these funny numbers. You are saying that only 0.2% of the small-pox infected died of the disease? This is beyond ridiculous. In Latin American nations such as Mexico and Peru, the mortality was more than 90%.
14473  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Environmental Problems on: May 14, 2018, 06:08:00 PM
5% of all the humans that had ever lived are alive right now. We need to reduce the population.

"We"?
I am afraid "they" may chose to reduce the population, and I guess you and me are more likely to be among those who can be sacrified.

He is not saying that large number of people must be exterminated. On the other hand he is saying that population control measures should be adopted and the population growth must be slowed down.
14474  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bible downloads banned in China on: May 14, 2018, 05:52:27 PM
there are many religions around the world, and each of them brings in both negative and positive features of life in society. In order to avoid a bad influence on the Chinese people, the government is doing everything possible to make their people return to their origins.

The problem with both Christianity and Islam is that they tend to interfere in the governance unlike the case with the oriental religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Shintoism. Perhaps that is the reason why the Chinese government is adopting such a hostile approach.
14475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are some stable altcoins ? on: May 14, 2018, 05:34:44 PM
If you want to invest in altcoins, then you should go after the ones which increases in price and not in the ones that have stable exchange rates. Anyway, if you are that determined to invest in "stable" alts, then you can go for coins such as Monero, Litecoin and Bitsend.
14476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: False Promises About Bounty Payments! on: May 14, 2018, 05:32:34 PM
Some Bounties Today is not Honest enough to Fulfilled its Promises Like Paying Bounty Ontime, Dont pay the rigth Amount etc.

Any thoughts about this Annoying Issue! You can mentioned those bounty that you think is not Honest or not Fulfilled its Promises like Distribution Date lapses.etc.

During 2017, the vast majority of the bounty campaigns were honest and they paid the participants the right amount on time. But thing have changed now. Many of the bounties are not paying the reward (either completely or partially). And some others increase the duration of the bounty campaign mid-way, without increasing the bounty pool.
14477  Other / Off-topic / Re: Chinese Men need to spend a huge money to get married. Most cannot get married on: May 13, 2018, 06:00:09 AM
If I spend 1 million $, what kind of woman can I find in India to married?

If you are Chinese, and you are ready for marrying an Indian girl without a dowry, then on average you will get a girl who looks like this:

If you can spend $10,000, then you will get a girl who looks like this:

If you could spend $100,000, then you will get a girl who looks like this:

But why stick with India? You will get far better deals in Thailand.
14478  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Stop the taxing of online sales! on: May 13, 2018, 05:50:20 AM
Even here in India, the online retailers are complaining about hostile stand by the government. The shop-keepers are complaining that the online sales are having a negative impact on their revenue. But at the same time, they are not ready to lower their profit margins.
14479  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think of North Korea? on: May 13, 2018, 05:47:01 AM
North and South Korea ,finally, are so close to build a new country with,i hope, more freedom from the people of the North.I also hope that the President of Usa will help more than talk.We will see how will happen after the 22th of May.

So far, the signs are positive. But we will be able to say something concrete only after the meeting between Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump. I don't think that Kim will agree to give up his nukes. And Trump may not agree to a deal without it.
14480  Other / Politics & Society / Re: what are the best possible export of north korea to the usa? on: May 13, 2018, 05:45:08 AM
The North Korean terrain is not suitable for intensive terrain and that means that the scope for agricultural exports is limited. On top of that, the US is one of the largest agricultural exporters in the world right now. In future, REE can be exported from the DPRK to the US. North Korea has significant deposits of REE and they are in great demand around the world.
