14521  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: March 20, 2020, 08:02:33 PM
How often are payouts made from this pool? Is it only after a block has been found?

That is correct.

Wow, how can anyone afford to miner here? I mean, the design seems great - but at this point with once per year payouts - that's rough. Too bad there isn't some sort of marketing campaign to get a lot of people to jump on all at once the get the blocks coming in faster. It looks like it was doing pretty well at one point - if the payouts were less all the fees usually involved, what prompted people to pull their miners elsewhere? That's a shame.

Well, the irony is that a zero fee pool leaves more profit than those 4% fee PPS pools, and if enough hashrate was added to this pool, payments could become as frequent as daily, and with such frequency variance cease to matter. But that requires some petahashes per second to move here, rather than, remaining at the usual Chinese pools.

As you can see "little fish" can't change this situation much. I suppose that the interface and pool help needs to be available in both Chinese and Russian...

Marketing requires money, but a zero fee pool doesn't make any on its own...

What the killer is Even with 2ph it is not enough to matter.

I control 2 ph.  If I point it here we need to hit a block a month for me to not suffer variance issues.

2ph is not enough to matter any more.  it is .9 btc a month which is about a block every 13 or 14 months

If I had 20 ph it would be a block every 1.3 to 1.4 months

so I need about 40 ph to matter.  this is not going to happen anytime soon.
14522  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: March 20, 2020, 07:52:21 PM
Yeah this is a good point  my 2ph sha-256 and 11gh L3+ are 57 miles from my house.  My host/partner is in food distribution so he can go to the warehouse every day. but  if there is a major issue  all he can do is turn gear on and off.

I am happy I don't have 10x s19 pros on order.

We have 1 s17+ it was due to ship in early march.

All the gear is paid off we can turn it off and wait for the shit to stop hitting the fan if we have to do this.

I still see BTC doing better then USD the next 2 months to 6 months.  rather then the other way around.

At the moment my ratios are

 gear heavy
 debt low
 coins low
 cash medium.

not perfect but could be worse.
14523  Other / Meta / Re: [BitCoinTalk][COVID-19] Grim Reality on: March 20, 2020, 05:32:33 PM
For the past few days the government and doctors in my country issued a statement that the COVID-19 virus could be transmitted and infected through fiat money used for daily shopping., Because we do not know the money we have used has been used by people infected with the virus, if this happens every day that is infected with the COVID-19 virus will multiply doubled.

Doctor's advice, when we trade / buy with banknotes, it is necessary to wash hands, perhaps, which are held and touched by positive people attacked by a virus, quickly spread to people who hold fiat money.

The only way if this could be infected and killed by the COVID-19 virus, when in contact with fiat money automatically all people in this world must use the crypto currency in the sale / purchase transaction, in my opinion, it is to prevent increased casualties.

I actually received an email from a coffee shop chain here in Oz that said their employees will wash their hands after handling cash (as well as other time stipulated in the email), however the next day (today) said coffee shop chain's counter staff asked for credit card payment as they were reluctant to handle cash.

Yeah a cc stuck into a machine is safe for the teller.

Just remember to clean your hands after pressing keys on the cc machine

14525  Economy / Computer hardware / Sapphire Vega pulse feeler . sold and locked on: March 20, 2020, 04:03:06 PM
I sold this to chillfactr

I have a SAPPHIRE VEGA 56 PULSE.

runs on 75% fans
runs on a power reduce setting under 70C

I live in USA and would prefer to sell it in the USA.

This ebay seller wants 200 + shipping
about 220

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Used-SAPPHIRE-Pulse-Radeon-RX-Vega-56-8-GB/274284765435?

I think no one is under 200 for buy it now offers.

I would do better.

Not sure if I have a box.

So offer me something over 150 and under 200 shipping included to the USA.

I mod to prevent trolls.

I take BTC or LTC
14526  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: March 20, 2020, 03:33:40 PM
What a lot of us do is spread out our mining.  CK is a stand up guy and provides a great service to this community with CGMiner and the solo and pool.  So I support both of his pools (solo and group) but use another pool for some steady income.

Yeah  I use 3 tiny pools that take over a year to hit a block

and a pool that pays me daily

700,000,000-1,400,000,000 infected.

lets pretend

575,000/700,000,000
I'm assuming in the first part of your post that the second set of numbers above should read 375,000/700,000,000 which would be half of the first value.

I don't think so, they are just comparing the best and the worst death case scenarios and where 575,000 are death out of 700,000,000 infected peoples is the worst case.

yep  4 numbers on wiki are

dead  175,000
dead  575,000

infected  700,000,000
infected  1,400,000,000

so  175,000/1,400,000,000  is the lowest death %    0.000125 death rate     x 3 =  0.000375 death rate

and 575,000/700,000,000 is the highest death%     0.0008214 death rate      x 7 = 0.00575  death rate

I have read this virus is just as contagious and is 3x to 7x as deadly.

So  if :

500,000,000 infected   187,500 low death rate      2,874,900  high death rate
1,000,000,000 infected   375,000 low death rate      5,749,800  high death rate
1,500,000,000 infected   562,500 low death rate      8,624,700  high death rate.

Those are six simple models  pick your poison  huge difference in the numbers.

that 8,624,700 is  a crazy bad number.

On a more personal note my wife has a first cousin that is a nurse she lives in Long Island New York she and her husband have it.

14528  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Have my S9 miners been hacked? on: March 20, 2020, 12:39:13 PM
Part of what is happening is nicehash  is paying really high for sha-256 hash.  Some hot shit coin is why that happens.

0.0152 is about what it should pay per ph

last few days it is paying  0.0181 and up.

this causes lots of switching as bots and renters will raise the price they are willing to pay.  So your s9  switches like mad  that is the #xnsnb code purpose it allows easy switching.

Right now nicehash is paying about 0.0160  which is not too much over the 'true'  price of 0.0151  so the switching is less.

if you see a lot of xxx mixed with ooo  in general  the gear still works.

If you don't see a board at all in general the board is dead.  but that is a generality maybe 70-30 or 75-25 true number.

14530  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Canaan A1066 Pro Review. (soon ) on: March 20, 2020, 10:33:10 AM
My lone t17+  has a dead board.

More then 3 others have bad t17+ units.

So far it is an unreliable  miner.

So the question is how reliable is the a1066 pro  well we hope to find out when we get the samples.

Avalons have tended to work well over the years.
14531  Other / Meta / Re: Moderators Doubling Membership Fee Despite People Loosing Jobs on: March 20, 2020, 02:14:58 AM
So the fee was 0.0024 btc last week, then when bitcoin and the fiat markets started crashing, fee was raised to 0.0045. It's just a nasty thing to do at a time like this. Even from a 'symbolic' stand point - Not Nice!

Why? The fee is supposed to be approximately 25.00 USD worth of BTC. When BTC tumbles from 10000 USD worth to 5000 USD worth, why should bitcointalk take a haircut, USD value wise?

I agree  and when we jump to 10000 a coin  it will drop back to  0.0025 btc .

I believe this has happened on another occasion.
14532  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9K fan lost on: March 20, 2020, 02:06:08 AM
Yeah 7 months to 2 years they all go.

pick up a replacement  on ebay or amazon

https://www.ebay.com/itm/6500RPM-Cooling-Fan-Replacement-4-pin-Connector-For-Antminer-Bitmain-S7-S9-Black/112634675926?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/7500RPM-Cooling-Fan-Replacement-4-pin-Connector-For-Antminer-Bitmain-S7-S9-Black/123531120730?

I went to ebay  and picked first two in the search

you want 6000 rpm to 7500 rpm  4 pin pwm

If you get lucky  maybe 8 bucks a fan I don't want to really search it out tonight.  You can do it .

I do not know those fan sellers
If you look harder you could save a few bucks.
14533  Other / Meta / Re: my topic was delete on: March 20, 2020, 12:57:54 AM
So admins please answer. Could i place topic about our pool in btc Section like other pools: Poolin, Antpool, ukrpool and others?

No, you can't post this in the Pools subboard section, or even in the Mining board at all. From the board's rules:

5. Mining altcoins, even if you get paid in bitcoin, does NOT amount to mining bitcoin. Ethereum is NOT bitcoin. Monero is NOT bitcoin. Litecoin is NOT bitcoin. Bitcoin cash is NOT bitcoin and so on. Any discussion regarding mining anything NOT BITCOIN will be moved to the altcoin mining section.

And to clarify

and here is where you would win or lose your fight.

to be in btc section  you need to have a pool that mines btc straight up.

So you have that?

here is what I mean
this company has an exclusive pool for btc

do you have a pool that only mines with btc sha-256 asics and only pays in btc

yeah they have a lot of other pools but they have a pool only for btc

Well, I will help you, in response, please send contacts here of Global Moderator, who answers, because I wrote to one, but there he is no answer.

Mining pool - one structure that contains different algorithms. And VIAbtc it's a one mining pool but few algorithms. Coins: BCH and BTC and BSV - it's a one algorithm - SHA256. there are no many seprate EXCLUSIVE mining pools, etc. We are the same pool as Viabtc and other pools, but only we are better because viabtc has a FEE, but we don’t, and we have much more income

Your screen - it is a list of coins that miners can mine.

Thus, viabtc supports several algorithms, like us. And we place this information about algorithms to the main page.

And please if you do not understand mining - do not write such nonsense.

Thanks

I understand

on my screenshot

the btc pool pays btc.

the bch pool pays bch

the bsv pool pays bsv

the ltc pool pays ltc

so on and so forth.

your pool i dont know how it works since i need to sign up to understand your rules.

... To me, the way I see it is that risk-takers are trying to get what they think of as cheap bitcoin thinking the bottom is in, the virus is getting the best of the word's economy and we are unlikely going to recover, selling pressure will start pretty soon and we may very likely make a new lower low...

yeah meant six not 3 days.

14535  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you ready for the Halving ??? Not that Halving, the PRICE Halving of Bitcoin on: March 19, 2020, 11:36:15 PM
Seeing this hard fact,

what does the OP think? Most of the OP's responses to the members above are always contradictory, we should realize that the crypto world is a unique niche with extreme changes, so don't easily draw conclusions that the BTC bubble, btc scam, btc die, etc. just because of the fact of falling prices at the time narrow. Seeing a lot of negative responses, has the OP ever experienced bad things when investing or trading with BTC or another altcoin?

he could of tried to push prices down and purchased when we dropped under 4000
14536  Other / Meta / Re: [BitCoinTalk][COVID-19] Grim Reality on: March 19, 2020, 11:32:47 PM
wiki has estimates on h1n1 during 2009-2010

175,000-575,000 dead 💀

700,000,000-1,400,000,000 infected.

lets pretend

575,000/700,000,000

worst death rate comes from that.

lets pretend

175,000/1,400,000,000

best death rate comes from that.

so that flu was 1 of 1200 worst death rate.

and 1 of 8500 best death rate.

I had h1n1 in fall of 2009 at the age of 52.

I had a 104.3 fever with chillibain symptoms for 10 hours.

worst flu i ever had.

so if this is 3 to 7 x as bad as h1n1.

we are 1 of 160 at worst to 1 of 2800 at best.

note did the math in my head so i could be off.

but if 1 of 160 people die off world wide that would really be bad. and yeah over 500 people would die here.

if 1 in 2800 die world wide maybe 30 people will die here.

I am getting ready to point a miner (or few) to your pool. But have a few questions.

Does it support ASICBoost?
Should I set my URL to other to use #xnsub?
Are there any other configs that can be set - like #xnsub?

Sorry, I looked around and didn't readily find these answers.

Thanks!

it will do asic boost it does not need xnsub

that setting allows rapid switching on and off different renters.

here your btc addy stays pointed to the pool.

and just the pool no one rents your gear.

just be sure the btc addy you use is under your control.

this pool can be slow to hit a block. so it can take time to pay.

you can do what i do point some here and some to another pool that pays quickly.

we discussed it in the other thread.

i point 24th to this pool and 40 th to the other pool

so are they all set to viabtc or to ckpool as i ask?

do that first lets say one half to ckpool and one half to viabtc.

once you did that.

boot each one three times.

then  run the gear and monitor it.

see what happens.

if it sucks let us know.

if it works let us know.

so far every thing we suggest you simply disagree with us.

stop that.  just follow these ideas .

there are actual reasons we suggest it.

if i was at you place i could sit down and explain to you each and every reason.

but on the internet it is simply too time consuming.

I have yet to see a screen shot of any of this gear set to via btc or to ckpool.

also three boots tends to clear a lot of bullshit out of the ram in the controllers.

good luck 🍀
