https://github.com/Xenland/BitcoinRetail-Lite/blob/master/bitcoin_controller/bitcoin.inc.php

Line 338:

/**   * Safely copies wallet.dat to destination, which can be a directory or   * a path with filename.   *

Your software is flawed because it stores the wallet on the webserver, and probably passwords to access it as well or whatever.

I do not trust webserver administrators/web hosters.

the part your referring to is part of the bitcoin-php library.

It uses it to interface with BitcoinRetail-Lite

I want people to test the software before i add the feature were all Bitcoins sent to the server will be sent to an offline address set by the installer.

Oh yeah learn how to read. You neckbeard

No, I think you pretty stupid, if you expect people to use any kind of software where bitcoins are actually stored on some server somewhere, out of their control.

If a criminal would find out where that server is, perhaps in some facility where people share hardware, the criminal could then rent some equipment there and then try to steal that server or it's information...

Pretty damn dangerous scenerio !

You still have not responded to my posting about: "copieing the wallet" ?!?

So does that mean I was correct, and your software is flawed ? Wink

Starting to seem like it based on your silence.

lol

I think you pretty stupid if you expect experimental software to be perfect or secure? really? go home.....

Today I feel like I have conquered.

I have for the first time convinced a family of four who's computer usage is of the usual web browsing, printing, yahoo mail, hot-mail, etc etc and of course some played games such as Left 4 dead 2 and Dead Island 2.

I've been over their house many times fixing their computer with the same exact problem.

First problem was their Kodak ESP C310 printer(WiFi only) would not work with their windows 7 computer any time they would turn off the printer or the computer, or both. By not working I mean windows asks you to install a printer.

2nd problem was that they kept getting viruses even with paid yearly subscription to McAfee with every feature activated and update to date. Most times I'll run Spybot S & D and they will pick up what Mcafee doesn't and it usually works but this time it was different this virus was bad. it was one of those viruses where they close all applications your running and tell you that everything you open up is in fact a virus, and then it shows an obviously fake scanning window saying you have 1000's of viruses. It was one of those.

Long story short, they were scared that they would lose their data, or it would be difficult learn an new system entirely I re assured them I could easily back up their data and continued to tell them that Linux is so safe that their aren't even anti-viruses made for it since theres no market... of course they then gave me the response I half expected which was "Is it just not popular enough yet?".

My response was searching up it up on Google for the estimated Linux users and it was around 25 million people use Linux(of course these are estimates but even a 50% error rate is still high)

Anyways I installed unbuntu linux, and it took me 15 minutes to show them how it works, I made cute little icons so they could just click facebook and bam theres face book.

Once we get Perl/PHP/Python/etc. running and instantly compiling within browser, a lot more doors will be open.

However, Javascript is still pretty powerful.

cuz PHP isn't a Just-In-Time compiler or nothing.....  Undecided

I rather see better webgl drivers and games written for the web that every platform can play. That's where the future is at.

Yeah those are nice too!

However the future doesn't rely on one technology(HTTP/Javascripts)

Apparently they are debating which platform to develop on they are considering Ubuntu as their gaming platform. I say please do! I'd love to play a "REAL" game for Linux now a "WineHQ" or some other windows emulation software. I'm sick of microsoft monopoly decentralize videos games today and like that facebook page! I'm just a huge Linux fan I'm not affiliated with these peeps
1475  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinRetail-Lite | 1-2-3 Library for integrating Bitcoin into any store on: November 28, 2011, 02:14:18 PM
This is great, thanks.

What is this licensed under?

I think i missed this question

The BitcoinRetail-lite project will always be completely open-source and available for free to the public under the MIT or X11 license the license/readme pages will tell you this

Quote
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE
AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER
LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM,
OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN
THE SOFTWARE. ENJOY.

How ever I have another Repo called BitcoinRetail which will be used with BitcoinRetail-Lite but it will be an out of the box installation setup and the BitcoinRetail Repo will be open source but in the future could be a money maker but with purchasable mods approved by the BitcoinRetail team.

I'm looking for BitcoinRetail-Lite volunteers who can spend 20minutes to an hour a month to write & add code to the project.
1476  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinRetail-Lite | 1-2-3 Library for integrating Bitcoin into any store on: November 28, 2011, 02:03:45 PM
Looks like I didn't actually make the cronjob functions send confirmed bitcoins to an off line address although I did put a variable in the config section of the library so I can later implement it.

Hey Xenland, that was kinda fast, and on a Sunday!? Actually, I don't really know when they left the island. It's just that the storms seemed to keep the planes grounded for weeks (one might have slipped away without me noticing). Did you keep the stamps and postmark? Also, the packaging doubled as a note. Hope you didn't throw that out nor that the tupilakker ate it.

Indeed cool looking stamps, I kept the stamp and a tupliakker ate his way half way through the bag Tongue

I read the entire story that the packaging came with, it was entertaining.
1478  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinRetail-Lite | 1-2-3 Library for integrating Bitcoin into any store on: November 28, 2011, 04:54:12 AM
I can't remember if I implemented this feature into the software yet or not. But it is suppose to send all available funds to the set off-line address when the cronjobs are ran.
1479  Economy / Goods / Re: Greenlandic tupilaks (and other traditional arctic crafts and knives) on: November 27, 2011, 10:58:18 AM
They came sooner then I expected!
I'm using one for a Christmas gift and the other for a table piece!

Here are some pics to show how well they travel.

I could have swore I heard one of the buggers gasp for air
when I ripped open the packaging Wink

Thank Netrin, I will be buying from you again in the future. Cheesy
