Hope the winner spends my stolen bitcoin on something nice. I was buying stuff that is legal in the US and here.
From a place that was known to be engaging in illegal drug trade money laundering.... Many things are illegal somewhere. I am sure most drug dealers, if given a chance, would pay their taxes properly and not resort to laundering. Just give them a chance, stop arresting them  The Feds are fucking thieves. But as the adoption of Bitcoin slowly (!) grows their power will erode away into nothing. Sit back watch it crumble and when it burns raise your glass. Dinosaurs will die. Raise my glass? May I humbly suggest we stop constantly throwing links at Coindesk (news aggregation) and instead link the actual source material?
Coindesk basically takes other people's news and re-posts it with a few words on their own site. it's a shitty, asinine practice and we shouldn't support it.

I got an email from the authy app stating that my account had been reset and to click the link to verify it and that if I had not done that to ignore the email. I had not done anything so I ignored the email.
And get away from Coinbase. Their response to this situation has been horrible. Through lack of availability when the incident started to the flaws in their system that allows what I am finding to be prevalent hacking, their response is awful. Coinbase is worse than useless. I hold for that scenario, prepared for zero, and insured against the outrageously unlikely moon scenario. I sleep well at night.

That said, the main reason that I do believe bubble size growth will decrease over time is that I believe that as the market gets bigger, the market also becomes more professional, which also entails it becomes more opportunistic, which entails profits will be taken earlier (because if you don't take profits comparably early, someone else will, and suddenly there are no profits for you to take anymore - i.e. a game theoretic understanding emerges that profits need to be taken earlier as time progresses), which entails the bubbles will overshoot less than they did in the past.
I think that is spot on what is going to happen, its the best I'm hoping for in the circumstances. Any other crazy MOON ideas occupy the same part of my brain that thinks I'm gonna win the lottery or something, nice to dream but unlikely to happen! I generally agree, as it will take an even higher volume of money to make a bubble go parabolic to the same relative level (5x - 6x) as past bubbles. But to play devil's advocate, suppose we go through future periods where the bitcoin "awareness factor" spreads faster than previous times, and an influx of new bitcoiners has a higher incoming velocity (i.e., say 20x vs. 10x) than past bubbles? So hyper userbase growth? In terms of awareness growth, I believe we are going through one of those periods now, in that bitcoin awareness is spreading globally at a hyper-exponential rate than past periods. This is what I think may fuel a hyper-bubble in the future. Maybe not this next time, but at some future date. Thoughts? It certainly could [says the I'm-gonna-win-the-lottery part of my brain] |
