14761  Economy / Speculation / Re: Drug Money and the Rise and Rise of Bitcoin on: October 18, 2017, 01:08:46 PM
Drug cartels and the rise in bitcoin prices because they use BTC is very unlikely,I also think that they prefer cash especially if it is an old school criminals. It is possible that some new generations of drug criminals will try to take advantage of BTC and some other coins maybe just to hide some of money and profit in future like most users. There is no doubt that BTC is also used in criminal activities, but nothing more or less than fiat.
14762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should I try to win back my loss? on: October 18, 2017, 12:50:30 PM
I have around 500 000 bets placed on FJ
It was a matter of time when this would happen ( placed a lot of bets on not Martingale, so it already happened a lot of times, just not with Martingale)

I got 16 losses in a row
Starting with bet 0.000001BTC
And last bet was 0.03BTC
Counting a 0.06BTC loss total

Now, my question is, should I try to win it back?

I have a total bank of around 1.6BTC on my disposal

Odds of me losing those 16 bets in a row were 0.00179%
Somewhere around 1 to 60 000

Now, if I place a 0.06BTC there's a 50.5% chance I'll lose
If I lose, I place a 0.12BTC bet,  0.505*0.505= 25.5% chance I'll lose
If I lose, I place a 0.24BTC bet, 0,255025*0,505= 12.88% chance
If I lose, I place a 0.48BTC bet, 0,128787625*0,505= 6.5% chance I'll lose

If I lose, I have a total loss of 0.48+0.24+0.12+0.06 (+0.03) = 0.9BTC (+0.03)

Is it worth it?
Should I cut my losses o.o

Odds of me losing 20 bets in a row should be 1 : 860 000
Which, with me having 500k bets, doesn't sound very good

You got into a series of losses and by some logic you should stop because it's easy to lose even more. But by some law of numbers after you lost 16 times in a row you probably should finally win in next few bets.I think the decision is just for you because money is just yours. If I was in your place I would stop for a while.Since you are in good campaign all you lost will be back to you anyway.I know it's not the same as getting a bet,but let's say it makes sense,at least for me.

If you still decide to bet good luck to you and to get back all the lost Smiley
14763  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why so many currencies? on: October 18, 2017, 10:24:08 AM
Many try to copy BTC achievements and create new coins only to make some profit of that, but BTC is out there for almost 10 years and it is the most famous crypto coin and yet is still very unknown to the wider public.Let's imagine then what the future is for some other coin which appears on markets and tries to do something. In most cases they are sentenced to failure and the only benefit is for the owner and few lucky traders.

People see a chance to make money and is not so difficult to do made new coin,so we have so many of them. How many will survive for long time it's hard to say,but in my opinion that number should be between 10-20 coins.
14764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving Bitcoins for your Children. on: October 17, 2017, 04:46:52 PM
It would be nice to save some BTC for our children if we belive that one day in future these coins can help them to be financially independent and to have maybe better life. There is always a question how to do it safely so that the money does not go to the wrong hands or to remain hidden and forgotten.Store the data in the bank safe or rely on a law firm or something else.

I was thinking that would be interesting to make few paper wallets and hide them on some places, leave some map so that they can go in treasure hunt,it would be fun for sure Smiley
14765  Economy / Speculation / Re: when will bitcoin price struggle to breach $6000? on: October 17, 2017, 03:59:15 PM
There is strong resistance above 5880 level as we can see in last few days and I doubt that 6000$ can be reached before hard fork, maybe in the case of some big player invest a large amount of money and push price up.After the situation with hard fork is resolved there should not be no obstacles that price does not go up.But as each day can bring some good, but also the bad news it is difficult to predict when exactly something will happens. It should not be significant changes in next days, price may stay in range between 5500-5700$.
14766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 World Cup qualifications, UEFA zone, discussion and information thread on: October 17, 2017, 01:20:26 PM

Today was drawing of play-off and as you can see above there is some good and interesting games which will be played next month for win last four european spots for Russia 2018.

On first sight game between Sweden and Italy seems the most interesting, and Switzerland,Croatia and Denmark look like favorites against Northern Ireland,Greece, and Republic of Ireland. What are your opinions about these games?

14767  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Waiting for fee estimates.. on: October 17, 2017, 12:34:44 PM
Hi all,

Since earlier today I am trying to send an amount of mBTC to another wallet. unfortunately I keep seeing a message below "Waiting for fee estimates..". After an hour the message disappeared and instead I saw my mBTC balance.

I tried to continue the transaction so I pressed send. Now I got this Information text block saying "Dynamic fee estimates not available".
Can someone tell me what's going on here?

Thanks a lot!

To my knowledge this problem is probably caused by server on which you are connected and you can try to manually connect to another server so you can see if that solves the problem. To do that just click on green/red dot and uncheck "Select Server Automatically. You can also go to Preferences and check "edit fees manually" so you can set fee as you wish and complete transaction.
14768  Other / MultiBit / Re: Can I delete Multibit HD from PC after resolved password bug? on: October 17, 2017, 10:21:52 AM
I had this "password problem" but I resolved it (I spend half day) . Now i have bitcoins on android application called Simple Bitcoin Wallet and of course on Multibit. Can I delete now this garbage called Multibit HD from my PC? I don't loose bitcoins? Maybe this is stupid question  Wink

If you transfer your BTC to new wallet and you made backup of that new wallet(seed&private keys)then it is completely safe to remove your old wallet form PC.I see that Simple Bitcoin Wallet is HD wallet so you need to save your seed somewhere safe.Nevertheless I would recommend you in case you have larger amount of BTC that use some desktop wallet like Electrum or maybe hardware wallet.

Multibit is dead long time ago,I remember my Classic version and all problems have with that wallet.Switch to Electrum is solve that and make my life much easier.
14769  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange Bittrex began to block accounts!!! on: October 17, 2017, 10:06:04 AM
I'm not surprised at all that Bittrex made this move, and it is possible that some other exchanges make the same in the near future.I think the reason for this is quite simple, they want to identify users due to possible tax collection, money laundering or some other illegal activity. It seems that the trading on exchanges will no longer be possible completely anonymous,or it will be allowed for very small amounts.
14770  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Yobit exchange on: October 16, 2017, 01:26:21 PM
I was in YoBit signature campaign before and I promote my ref link in signature so I get some referrals.I just check my account and there is over 200k satoshi so I try to withdraw and fee is 150k satoshi. Before fee is only 20k,but this is too much/I am not see any option to set manual fee.

When try to send support ticket I get message that my nick is not correct, even it is 100% correct.YoBit always have some problems,it seems that now is no different.
14771  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Research Shows Half a Billion People Are Mining Cryptocurrencies Without Knowing on: October 16, 2017, 10:51:10 AM
This web mining is become quite popular in last few weeks and many sites start to using it,most of them without any warning to its users. Some are using 100% of user CPU,others are a little more cunning and set using of CPU to lower levels.I think number of users who are affected with this is a lot bigger than half billion, and will probably still grow because this make big profit for site owners.

Beside this web browser mining there is many crypto malware which can infect users PC and mine cyptocurrency without the knowledge of the user and visiting a particular web site.According to Kaspersky Labs only in 2017 this type of malware will infect 2+ million of PC around the world.I think this type is even more dangerous since it infect user PC and literally can mine 24 hours a day if user if online.
14772  Economy / Economics / Re: BITCOIN misconceptions on: October 16, 2017, 10:02:55 AM
I came across several threads on the forums about bitcoin as their source of income, people leaving their day jobs just to focus on campaigns here in the forum.

Why most of the people in the forum sees bitcoin as currency that you need to spend everyday? On my opinion at this point of time for bitcoin it is better to consider it as an asset, an investment that if you keep it there is a big chance that your investment will grow. Think of its future potential, at this time each coin cost $5600+ when maybe about 100 million people who is using it. imagine what will the price be if 1 billion people uses it in the future how much will the price be? And this also applies to alt coins. As much as possible keep you coins and wait for the price to boom.

The answer to your question is actually pretty simple, people leave their jobs and join to sig campaigns just because they can earn more posting here then in their daily jobs.Maybe it sounds weird to you but there are very poor countries with very low wages so some users here on forum earn more with sig campaigns then in real life job.

I consider BTC as currency but also as asset, for people who hold there is a great possibility to achieve very good profit in future. But there is people who need BTC and other coins for everyday needs, hold is just not option for them.
14773  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: tunisie-video.tn (Bitcoin Faucet) on: October 16, 2017, 09:40:00 AM
Hello,

I started a new bitcoin faucet to promote my website https://tunisie-video.tn/

we pay 500 to 2000 Satoshi every 24 H and 50 % Referral Bonus.

The faucet is located in every post of the site , but is locked, you must share to unlock !

It is nice idea for promote your site, although I'm not sure how the potential users will react on your offer. There is no stated where you pay,is it microwallet or direct to wallet maybe, but this will not have much sense. Also you are targeting only your domestic audience, site is not in english. You set very high reward,I do not think it can take too long just because of high BTC price.
14774  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for Bounty Campaign and Signature Campaign Manager for several projects. on: October 15, 2017, 04:18:30 PM
I can recommend Lauda for Signature Campaign Manager because I participated in BitMixer before is closed and Lauda did a great job in that campaign.I am now in CoinPayments Signature Campaign and Lauda is again run this campaign at high level.

14775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How stated-backed cryptos will affect bitcoin? on: October 15, 2017, 03:17:52 PM
Banks and governments will certainly not stand by or support BTC if there is no interest for them.If banks can not profit from BTC and governments can not charge tax, they will try to make their own coins. In that case some people would certainly believe more in coins backed by some state and bank.

But BTC is still much more than money,it is also very valuable asset these days and many like it just because it is decentralized without control of any government, bank or other institutions. For the first time in the history people have something that they can control themselves, free money on free internet.

I think any bank or goverment can not offer anything like it,so there is not too much danger for BTC.
14776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taking Courses to learn about Bitcoin on: October 15, 2017, 01:24:15 PM
Has anyone taken a course online on sites like Udemy to learn about bitcoin? I just received a coupon to enroll in a bitcoin course for free. Would it be worth the time?
If anyone has any experience, do share.

I think this is a great idea for beginners to get acquainted with the basics of cryptocurrency and even for some let's say more experienced users to learn something new. This forum provides a lot of useful information, but additional knowledge is always welcome especially if it is free.

I think with ever greater growth of cryptocurrency users this type of service can become very popular. In any case it is useful for promotion of BTC,and new users gain basic knowledge how to buy/sell coins, use wallets,security...
14777  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-15] Bitcoin Has Barely Reached 1% of its Potential: Expert Blog on: October 15, 2017, 01:10:02 PM
There is no doubt that BTC is still far away from his competitors,$ or gold are present in the human society hundreds or thousands of years in the case of gold.It is strange to expect that BTC for less than ten years of existence can reach market capitalization of gold or $.At this time very small percentage of people knows about BTC,luckily we live in an era when information travels fast and this is great advantage for BTC.

Over time, more and more people will know about BTC and will probably wish to have at least a small part. There is no doubt that there will be less available BTC on market in future,so 12 satoshi for  Big Mac, large French fries and a Diet Coke is quite possible Smiley
14778  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin's rally really about BTG? on: October 14, 2017, 04:43:14 PM
It is very likely that this price up is at least partly due to new coin BitcoinGold, people still have fresh memories on last fork and BitcoinCash who make nice profit for them.Nobody wants to miss the possibility for new profits and trying to accumulate as much as possible.

It is difficult to say is this the only reason why we are so close to 6000$,but demand for BTC is big, more buying then selling is always causing price increase.Probably we will see correction after hard fork is finished,it is always been like that-after pump always come dump.
14779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hedge Funds Getting Interested w/ Bitcoin on: October 14, 2017, 11:13:29 AM

Bitcoin has been called by many names both positive and negative. One man called it as just a fraud and a possible scam while there are those who are defending it like a very innovative or revolutionary new way of doing things. Now, with the value surging so high (more can be coming especially next year), there are now many hedge fund managers who are getting interested to have their share of the potentail profits they can get out of Bitcoin.

As votes of confidence, giant investors like Andreessen Horowitz are finally calling Bitcoin safe enough to enter in. As the investors come, more and more will follow very soon. VanEck, a $38 billion investment fund (mainly in gold and precious metals) has made the move in August to switch some assets into Bitcoin as well.

Bitcoin’s market is currently around $75 billion, which still seems young to gold’s $7 trillion market. But the very fact that Bitcoin is being compared to something as old as gold, is something to take note of.

The shift has already started and then there would be a bandwagon which Jamie Dimon really feared of.

It is difficult to get rid of the old habits and accept something new such as BTC.It may not be so difficult to understand and accept for young people, but some old players in the financial world not reconcile easily with the changes that will come.It is true that BTC if far away from gold market but it is now over 95$ billion actually.Considering the history of gold and BTC it is difficult to compare them,BTC is just at its beginnings and will need more time to become a serious player on the world financial scene.

I think that no one will miss opportunity to earn, the question is only whether they join sooner or later.
14780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why people are sharing tips? on: October 14, 2017, 10:44:03 AM
So, I'm sure many of you have seen tipsters on this section, in your Twitter, in chatrooms and some other places - it's the people who suggest you to place bets on certain picks in sports. And maybe some of you have asked yourself a question - why they are doing it? Why they are giving us advises how to win money absolutely for free - and by doing this they decrease their own profit, since the winning pool grows bigger as people follow their tips. Can anyone explain this?

There may be a few reasons why people doing this. Some just post for fun and hope they win,so if someone follows their pick and win maybe he/she send some nice tip.Others post some picks for free and also offer pay service,if users see he/she have a high rate of wins they will try with pay service to get better picks. There is also many who post just for make some money from signature campaign.

I do not see how tipsters lose profit because they post here or on twitter, they usually play bets before in case that odds go down. There is so many bookmakers today,it is easy to find best odds but it is not easy to win Smiley

Also I think some users maybe promote some betting sites with this activity.
