It's bottleneck time again. 4 days without blocks. That may be one of the reasons bittrex said the wallet is broken.
14783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lowest transaction fee . How long can it take ? on: August 11, 2016, 04:51:23 AM
Cancelling unconfirmed transactions is easy. Just submit a higher fee double-spend transaction. For example: if you send a 0-fee transaction it could take a day before 1 block mines it. Then you send another transaction with the same inputs that just sends the money back to yourself. On this transaction you put a higher fee. This becomes more likely to be mined and will get included in the blockchain - invalidating the slower-to-confirm original.

And is there any wallet that can do that or you have to script it by hand?
14784  Economy / Speculation / Re: Testing 600 again on: August 11, 2016, 04:46:02 AM
Give it at least a week or two and we may see $650 again. Bitcoin started to climb the charts again on August 5 but did not get that much momentum as the increase is not big. From $568.21 last Aug 4 to $593 on August 8, that's an average of $6.39 increase per day. Not bad if you ask me so lets just wait for it to hit $650 by 3rd week of this month.

Since it's summer and the trading may be slower it may take 3 weeks for the 650$ goal. And after that 850$ may be the next stop....

14786  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Aug 2 to Aug 16. Picks are yet to start. prize =0.00 on: August 10, 2016, 01:04:13 PM
It seems miners not much concerned about short-term Bitcoin price and continue hashing as usual. Bit weird as there must be a lot of S5 and older unprofitable hardware (I guess phil estimated about 500 ph) unless you pay nothing or like 1-2 cents from nearby power plant. Hard to believe last week hashrate drop included disconnecting all of the older and unprofitable equipment and the spike we see last few days is the new bitmain in house S9s (or privately sold to some big mining farm).

I'm not surprised the hash rate continues to climb as S9 type miners trickle out. If S9 type systems were available to the public tens of thousands would be sold. The last batch of 999 sold out in hours.

Each S9 has the hash rate of at least 10 S5s.

Currently the S9 is profitable to power up even if you pay 20 cents per kWh.  If you have cheap electricity the profit margin is huge.

It is quite possible the network hash rate will come close to doubling by the end of the year.   The limit is the availability of 14/16 nm miners.

I would expect the difficulty increase this period to be at least 5% and probably close to 10%.

I think that the hash rate drop was related to the flooding in China. Maybe now the things came back to normal and they started producing again.

Phil, I've just read that Bitfinex is about to reopen (trading and withdrawals) sometime in the next 2 days.
14787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does the rekcahxfb giveaway say about our community on: August 10, 2016, 05:43:50 AM
So it seems the hacker rekcahxfb is offering to give away 1000BTC on reddit.

These funds have been stolen from individuals in the bitcoin community and not some faceless mega corp yet so far nearly 6000 people are more than happy to try their luck hoping to win the stolen cash.

From my point of view all those that signed up for it are just as bad as the scammers and it doesn't reflect well on the bitcoin community which is often viewed as a criminal entity by outside world at the best of times.

I also wonder what would be the legal ramifications for the person who wins it, I doubt they used a proxy so can be identified by I.P address, I dont think the police would be very understanding towards the person knowingly accepting $600k of stolen money.

Only 2 things:
1. When the giveaway was on bitcointalk, for quite a while there were no words about the source of the money. And even then many didn't bother to read.
2. You think too good of bitcoin community. Since I came from the (nice and light hearthed) Dogecoin community to Bitcoin, what shocked me at start was the greed so present here. Sorry if it sounds harsh...
14788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [RaiBlocks] RaiBlocks trading thread on: August 10, 2016, 05:38:17 AM
Colin has answered me, he is having a personal life problem, and currently he has not time to continue the project, even if he would like to come back to it.

Maybe in the next months he will find the time to come back.

This is actually quite a news!
It explains pretty much the silence and it gives some hope that this project is not dead for good.
14789  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CoinsBank App issue on: August 08, 2016, 03:33:39 PM
It shows:

Your Private Keys

QR-CODE            some long private strings            enabled: checked              readonly: no            description: apk

I hope it helped..
14790  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CoinsBank App issue on: August 08, 2016, 02:49:27 PM
Hmm...While creating the API on the website , have you checked the "Read only" checkbox or not ? because I checked it , I'm not sure what difference would that make but I assume that It will give me the ability to see the funds etc .... and not be able to use them

I don't remember. Is there a way I could check?
14791  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CoinsBank App issue on: August 08, 2016, 12:58:25 PM
I'm still having this issue and no could offer me help yet in the CoinsBank official thread , anyone ?

I'm not sure this will be of any help, but when I installed the CoinsBank app I had no problems at all setting the API key / linking the app to my actual CoinsBank account.

Well , I didn't type anything by hand except the password , I scanned the QR code from API key so I don't think It could be my fault anyhow ?
Is the application still working for you ? (now) ?

I don't know 100% what did I enter back then, it's quite some time since I've set it, it was shortly after Bit-X (campaign) became CoinsBank. But the app works very well since then (I've just made a test now too). I use it only for coins, I don't have a card, so I have to go to coins to actually show anything useful, but it works. I even like it more than the web interface.

14793  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Which online wallet do you use? on: August 08, 2016, 07:30:26 AM

 I found xapo , blockchain.info ,  moneypot , coinsbank . Just to name a few.

Also did blockchain.info had a design change recently?

I use xapo for values under 1$.
For real values I use my own wallet (and a paper wallet for what I want to just keep).
14794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 07, 2016, 06:16:24 AM
Here we are, back into the late 03/16 price levels.  Nice green candles, and all quiet in the speculation thread!  XBT also creeping back up, putting XMR back in the $2 range again.  I like it.

Yep, the price looks nice lately.
Was there any new development or news? What made the price rise?

Spreadsheet is already, Many participants didn't follow the requirements. :/
Please follow the requirements and use proper hashtags on post. Improve also the quality of tweets.
To those who didn't got credit. I challenge you to do proper job this time.
Im counting on all of you guys.  Cheesy

I'd appreciate a few comments from OP on 4 things:

1. I am on the spreadsheet, but no accept written in this thread.
2. The requirement is not clear: retweet with hashtags means a retweet with a custom comment including the hashtags?
3. Do we have to do 2 tweets + 2 retweets each day? Then the pay is rather low and I want to make sure I understood.
4. If you want so many retweets maybe it would be a good idea to post at least 2 fresh tweets every day to have something to actually retweet?

Thanks

Hello there. Your on the spreadsheet that means your accepted. I quoted on my recent update. And about the retweet issue. I already answer on previous question. Just do a back read. Thanks

I've done a new back read, but the answer I've found was not clear enough.
Ohwell, if getting answers is that hard, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if what I did today was OK or not.... Huh
14796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: XAURUM Twitter Campaign on: August 05, 2016, 01:12:08 PM
Correct we are waiting for XAUR wallet to be added to exchanges and ill change title to closed for those concerned
Yay, i have not patience for exchanger Xaurum, How price of Xaurum worth in bitcoin? are you know little about it bro?

If you followed the ICO (if you didn't follow it I don't understand how could you have posted any useful tweets really) you'd know that 1 XAUR is about 0.04$ and its price is tied to gold.
I hope that you don't need help to convert $ to BTC.

Good day Marco and Bitcoin_BOy$.

Any fearless update about what should supposed to happen?

And those missed payments and the BTConus.

Thanks. Cool  Cool  Cool

I would be happy even with a "we are still here, we are still working on it" update, even without an estimation...
