1481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Arb below 1$ on: April 02, 2023, 03:05:10 PM
The coin is dropping because the ARB foundation might be dumping more coins than agreed upon. I think it was agreed they would only sell $50M but they did some voting and asked to sell more tokens and people voted "no" but they might still dump those tokens.

So far I would stay out until this is resolved. Because the situation is escalating pretty quickly and print is about the break the ATL. If they keep dumping we will dump below $1 for sure. And who knows might even hit $0.50 like we did for Blur. There is a big discussion about this if you search for #ARB on twitter.
1482  Economy / Speculation / Re: US Government DUMPING Bitcoin on: April 02, 2023, 03:02:13 PM
Are these the actual Silk Road coins from DRP or are they from that Silk Road Hacker who has an account on here by the name of "Loaded". He basically did some exploit back in the day where he sent like 1000 Bitcoins to his deposit address at Silk Road and then immediately did 5 withdraws of 1000 Bitcoins at once and basically sent 1000 BTC and got 5000 Back, so made a profit off 4000 BTC.

I am pretty sure its these coins which they are selling. The caught the guy recently, about a year or two I believe. There is an article somewhere on twitter about how it happened. Those original DPR coins I think were auctioned off and Tim Draper bought them OTC, years ago.
1483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Arb below 1$ on: April 01, 2023, 03:09:45 AM
Honestly I assumed that Blur would never go below $1 and look at what price it is now. Same with Arb. I think if we were in a strong bull market the token would eventually reach something like $5 or so however I think many people just dumped the Blur and Arb because they just wanted some profits since BTC and ETH had a horrible turn last year.

I think if it goes below $1, it won't stay there however we won't see $5 anytime soon. Maybe if bitcoin trades closer to the $50K range and we are in a FOMO bull market like in 2021 and people will be buying tokens like crazy. However right now. The gains just aren't the same with these airdrops like they were during the bull run days.

In my opinion if Blur or Arb were launched when BTC hit ATH then they would be much more successful. But with all this regulation mess, Many people just are chasing the quick profits and getting out.
1484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zksync Era Mainnet launch on: April 01, 2023, 03:05:58 AM
I think the strategy of participating for the chance to receive the airdrop will be similar to that of Arbitrum, with regular experience and activity on the mainnet, I think everyone will have a chance to receive the airdrop.
But don't expect too much and fomo according to the news on social networks, I see that people are spreading a lot of different information related to the Zksync airdrop.

Given the fact that  zkSync Lite still exists in addition to zkSync Era, is it worth using both of these networks to get an airdrop? It is possible that the team will issue 2 tokens, as this is planned to be done in Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova. In this case, you will need to perform twice as many interactions on the network.
IMO, if you are willing to spend on their ecosystem, there is no need to hope too much about the airdrop issue. I'm not sure everyone will qualify for their usage, but it's true for me that everything that has happened with Arbitrum makes me see why so many people try to use multiple wallets and end up not responding. met any criteria, and instead used normally on a regular basis to great effect. That's why I encourage anyone looking for an opportunity with the Zksync airdrop to consider it as it's a very expensive experiment, so don't waste your time or money on things. It just depends on luck.

The issue is that right now. There isn't much you can do on their network. Many of the dapps there are with test net tokens. Who wants to trade with test net tokens? Probably not worth anyones time. I think if they add some large NFT platform OR large Defi exchange with good liqudity then many people will use it.

However now their ZigZag exchange is not good for large trades because you loose too much in fees and in spread. Since Era is new, I think many Dapps will add it to its network and it'll be more widely used. However in my opinion I think the airdrop is probably over a year away and by then there might be more use for it.
1485  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: April 01, 2023, 03:01:45 AM
With what is going on lately with inflation it seems many savers are losers pretty much. Look how much value the dollar has lost in the past 2-3 years. Many were saving to buy a home. But the prices doubled and interest rates tripled that their savings did nothing pretty much.

Sure you say to invest in the markets or bitcoin. However the markets won't always go up. And even if they do go up, might be 5 years before some investments finally turn a profit, what if you need the money in 1 year. Do you sell at a -20% loss.

Right now bonds are good investments however, if inflation doesn't go away those are risky also since the value of the bonds can go down also and you can lose money that way.
1486  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit Casino loosing value due to Licensing Ambiguity amongst users on: April 01, 2023, 02:57:32 AM
The timing of all of this is fishy.

Normally when you go to the site, you would see the crypto futures listed. However now you need to be logged in to see the crypto futures. With everything going on with regulations and their issue with the license, I think that they got some warning. Especially now with so many crypto exchanges facing regulatory hurdles.

Also the way they responded to the license renewal period just made themselves dig in a bigger hole. I would becareful using the site in the short term.
1487  Economy / Speculation / Re: The US government sold 9800 bitcoin on March 14 on: April 01, 2023, 02:48:43 AM
Yeah so far they sold 25% of their stash and will sell 75% sometime in the next year. If you look at the chart you will see that March 14th was a bullish day for bitcoin. So most likely they will be selling into strength instead of just market selling it during low liquidity or bear market. Maybe they got someone at Coinbase that picks the most liquid time to sell those coins without affecting price too much.

Really surprised why they didn't just auction them off like in the past. Someone would of paid OTC no problem. There was Justin Sun who offered but he wanted to underpay by 10% and most likely they wouldn't go for it.
1488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining in AWS with leftover credits on: April 01, 2023, 02:45:12 AM
Its been years since I last used AWS for anything mining related however you need to find out how you got those credits. If you got them as a promo and got them for free, most likely they will not allow mining. If however you are actually paying out of pocket for the mining then it should be ok. At first you might be limited to a few servers but after they get your payment and everything you can rent more.

However right now, even with free credits there isnt anything to mine. The best was Zcoin back in 2017 or so. I remember each rented rig made like $1/day. So the more rigs you rented the more money you made. And it was like that for a couple of months. Many people made a good killing.
1489  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable trading ETH/USD or ETH/BTC on: March 31, 2023, 04:38:36 AM
I did not have much luck trading pairs which are with a BTC counterpart. There are times maybe on the weekly chart where it helps to look at ETHBTC pairs but mostly the best way is to trade the ETHUSD pair.

If you are trading other currencies such as ETHEUR or ETHGBP then look at the ETHUSD chart instead if you want to trade with technical analysis.
1490  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do trading in forex gives us 1:1000 or more leverage on: March 31, 2023, 04:35:32 AM
Yes 1000x leverage is possible. It seems high but I have seen leverage as high as 500x with many brokers. You need to understand that forex doesn’t move as fast as crypto or stocks. Most days forex pairs trade maybe 50 pips or so. So if you trade a standard lot which is 100,000 units you would make $10 a pip which is $500.

So with 1000x leverage you would only need $100 or so depending on the pair to open the trade. And you would get stopped obviously when it goes 10 pips against you. Probably less due to spread and margin requirements.
1491  Economy / Economics / Re: Torture Story - Aiden Pleterski who blew millions of dollars from investors on: March 31, 2023, 04:30:24 AM
I am not surprised that many people simply gave him money and assumed he would make more of it. Crypto has a bad rap because everyone thinks it’s a get rich quick scheme.

Some old friend of mine heard I was in crypto and he was like “hey if I give you $5000 can you turn it into $50000 with your crypto trading”. I explained that you don’t get rich off Bitcoin anymore.
1492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zksync Era Mainnet launch on: March 30, 2023, 05:23:03 PM
For those that don't know. If you bridge to Zksync Lite you will have to pay some $1.30 USD activiation fee before you can make a transaction. Most likely they are doing this to weed out the farmers who abuse the airdrop. You can't do much with ZkSync Lite however, its like Bitcoin blockchain pretty much. You can perhaps trade on ZigZag but the spread is large and the fees are almost $0.50 per trade, compared to other Defi this is expensive.

ZkSync Era is new and haven't used many Dapps yet however hopefully it'll chain in the near future. Right now you can't even withdraw from exchanges like Bybit on the ZySync network. Only way is to bridge and that can get very expensive, espeically if you are just trying to farm and get the airdrop.
1493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining GPU Coins in 2023 on: March 30, 2023, 05:18:49 PM
Yeah we have been there in 2015. Most don't remember or went around but GPU mining was a mess. The only way to make a decent profit back then was to wait for some promising coin to hit the Announcement Section, and as soon as it launched you would instamine it while difficulty was low. And usually 25-50% of those coins were listed on Poloniex or Bittrex back then.

And you pretty much sold the top when it launched and rinse and repeat. Only way to make money back then. So many turned off their rigs or they went with BTC ASICs instead. Back then many bought the SP20e or Antminer S5 and they mined, profits were not that great however.
1494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Predictions? on: March 30, 2023, 04:57:04 PM
We broke $29K however the way we broke and rejected doesn't look good. Normally when the daily closes as a wick like that implies that its nothing but a stop hunt and we will start to head down. Could it reverse? Sure but it needs to close above the $28.4K quick or else many bears will come out and short it to $26K.

There really isn't much going on in the markets. Stocks are up slightly but many are still worried that the anti crypto regulations and more banks will fail and it'll cause more mid term choas in the markets. The unemployment claims that came out today were pretty much inline and didn't mean anything.
1495  Economy / Economics / Re: Failing bank Silvergate and FDIC are discussing recovery plans on: March 30, 2023, 05:03:06 AM
I got confused but then realized this was posted on March 8th basically days before all this bank mess.

The stock is still listed and trades at $2, so most likely they got some assets which will get sold and shareholders will get something back.
Maybe the SigNet (or whatever it was called) will get bought out by another regional bank who will do crypto transfers from now on. So far too early to tell.
1496  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank loans and securities. on: March 30, 2023, 05:00:27 AM
I don’t know where you are but in North America you have a credit profile. Pay your bills on time and you have a higher credit score. With a higher credit score it’s easier to gets loans for less interest and more balance.

Some loans have collateral like a house or cars. However there are some like credit cards which don’t. For a small loan like yours there shouldn’t be any collateral really. However it might be different where you are located.
1497  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] MtGox distribution, early payment or full payment? on: March 30, 2023, 04:56:17 AM
I remember back in 2016 or so people took basically something like $700 or $900 for their BTC by selling their claims. Years later seemed like a horrible deal but they technically got back what they lost in fiat terms and didn’t have to wait a decade.

Wonder when the FTX creditors will get their money. Seems it’s a larger mess than MtGox and it’ll probably be 5-10 years.

1498  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your take on the price? on: March 29, 2023, 05:12:55 PM
Seems that people are forgetting about the bank crisis. Basically yields are slowly going up and most markets are climbing. Today is a pretty good day in the stock markets. I am assuming it will stay like this until another bank collapses.

Bitcoin looks like it wants to test $30K. Most likely sometime this week. There is a huge buying going around in Asia due to the bullish government regulations there and I think after we break $30K, we will get more buying and might go even higher.
1499  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance CZ sued on: March 28, 2023, 04:20:08 AM
This is happening because of all the mess that FTX created. It’s not only Binance look at how many other large exchanges had similar issues like Kraken or Coinbase.

He donated all that money to politicians and then FTX demanded it back and they are all pissed and pressuring these agencies to go after crypto. Almost every week it’s news like this pretty much
1500  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is anyone using Price Action to trade full-time? on: March 28, 2023, 04:18:03 AM
I think if you want to master price action and be successful with it then you will need lots and lots of experience and that can’t be taught. You just need enough screen time and eventually you will get it. However keep in mind it will take years.

You won’t be an expert trader if you are only trading a few weeks or months. Just not enough to learn in that time. This is not a get rich quick business. You need to put a lot of time and effort to make it.
