While disappointing, it is helpful to know how you honestly feel about DNotes and everything that we have worked very hard for. There is clearly a mismatch of philosophy, business model, priorities and time horizon. Fortunately, this is a free market, with over 500 different coins one can invest in. I trust that you can find many that are better suited in meeting your investment criteria. We all have different investment objectives. Based on my understanding of your investment expectation, it is understandable why DNotes disappointed you. As TeeGee has elaborated in great details, DNotes is positioned differently for many reasons; among them to be the trusted global digital currency worthy of being a supplement to national or fiat currencies.

If DNotes were a pure currency play and technology with a colorful road map is all we need to be concerned about, I would have plenty of time to enjoy my retirement and spend more time with my family. A pure currency play is what everyone else is all about. Some undoubtedly are significantly more technology focused than DNotes at this time. Technologies in both software and hardware evolve and become obsolete rapidly. Pioneers heavily invested at the early stages of technologies, without a viable business model seldom gained the first mover advantage. In our industry, early movers’ penalties are quite apparent as in the case of Ripple, MasterCoin, Counterparty, XCurrency, and Bitshares, just to name a few. I trust that you must know of some that had great “technology” but no longer listed on any exchange.

Mochillies, I hope you are not suggesting that CryptoMoms, DNotesVault, our family of CRISPs, DCEBrief and all the networking and PR with we have done are without “technology”, and value, but 99% “smooth talking the talk.” That is sad, and honestly very discouraging and offensive to all of us who have worked so hard selflessly. Being so absurd and unreasonable, I don’t believe that changing your mind is remotely possible.

For others it may be worth noting that DNotes has the most comprehensive and far reaching business model than any of our competitors in this industry. Starting from ground up DNotes is designed to be a complete system, strategically positioned to interact internally and externally in the most efficient and dominant manner conceivable. It has many parts and components, including our own ecosystem. Once it starts to gain momentum, it will dominate and can not be easily replicated. This is a very large scale global project with a very bold agenda. Technology is one of many components or subsystems. Focusing only on the technology aspect at the wrong time or prematurely is a very bad idea and the major pitfall in our industry. With due respect, that kind of mentality is a clear demonstration of ignorance on what it would take to be successful in the business world.

Being designed as a complete system in a massive nascent industry that is currently chaotic, fragmented, ever-changing, lawless, and leaderless; timing and good strategic directions are significantly more valuable than running mindlessly with the crowd.

We have disclosed that a for-profit company will be incorporated in 2016 to take over our ecosystem and expand into other areas. DNotes will own up to 25% of this company with significant funding for future development which will include our own exchange, Blockchain technology, and a global payment network. For more details:

Australian Securities Exchange 'Considering' Blockchain Technology


The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) is seriously considering replacing its current clearing and settlement system with blockchain technology, reports claim.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, ASX CEO Elmer Funke Kupper said blockchain technology could help cut the cost and time associated with its Clearing House Electronic Subregister System (CHESS).
The CEO added:

"We are looking at what we can do to bring end-to-end efficiencies, and we have people looking very closely at blockchain to see if we can create efficiencies for our clients, investors and companies."
He continued: "We're thinking about whether there are smarter ways to do things – to remove a lot of administrative costs and reconciliation costs from the back end of investment banking and broking, and this is where blockchain could be potentially quite helpful."

The upgrade of ASX's clearing and settlement system is expected to begin by the end of next year.
Crypto in Australia

Funke Kupper's comments come after the National Bank of Australia and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia – which is experimenting with Ripple's technology – joined distributed ledger startup R3CEV's project, which seeks to develop standards to spread the use of blockchain technology within the wider financial industry.

The news also follows reports that various banks in Australia had decided to shut down the accounts of bitcoin operating businesses in the country. The closures are currently being investigated by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)

The Elephant in The (Crypto) Room


Our resident naysayer has again ridiculed P2P. Let’s clarify the issue:

One: are automated exchanges – like Cryptsy – ‘free open public markets’? Not at all. They are whales, trading against their customers.

Two: can price discovery happen in a less-automated-exchange-centric model?

Well, it happened in a non-a-e-c model from the Neanderthal era until just a coupla hundred years ago.

Three: is a tight focus on trading -- automated-exchange trading -- detrimental to the development of a crypto?

Initially, no; but this point, it’s an existential threat. It signals clearly to outsiders that the crypto has a rape-n-run culture.

Four: can you elaborate?

Yup. Let’s consider an hypothetical crypto – ‘G-Coin.’

Is the G-Coin community oriented to making all potential users welcome?

Not at all! Theirs is an insular hyper-masculinist culture in which you can get away with saying things like [omitted]

Are they trying to increase trading-volume – and thereby somewhat decrease price volatility -- through committed merchant-network development?

Nuh.

Although the community professes hatred of the KYC/AML bastardry of the automated exchanges, are they developing P2P alternatives?

Nuh.

How broad is the community’s general participation in the crypto’s development?

Not broad at all. A few dedicated members do most of the work. The rest sit and wait for opportunities to turn a quick buck.

How cognizant are G-Coin folk about its relationship to cryptos that offer more, the so-called ‘2.0s’?

Completely oblivious! They’ve (publicly) bet the farm on Special Functions ‘X’ and ‘Y,’ which allow them to expect more return for less effort.

Conclusions?

One: the twilight phase has been entered when all hopes are pinned on (a) the present low price attracting new buyers, hopefully on (b) the new exchange.

Two: reputations are fragile: a couple more pump and dumps will leave G-Coin an illiquid low-cap 1.0 clearly unable to boot-strap itself back into the game.

Both arguments sounded reasonable. However, I am inclined to agree with KC. Playing the (small) numbers game to avoid being challenged or prosecuted is a old game of scam artists.

That unfortunately is correct, Cookie. The vast majority of people worldwide have not heard of digital currency. This industry is still at a very early stage, giving early adaptors a great advantage. The advantage is extended beyond to just early investors. Early nation adaptors with reasonable and favorable regulations will also benefit significantly, drawing massive new business and job creation.

FinTech or Financial Technology as a group is by far the most active industry, today, in terms of funding, published articles, new business creations and new participants, joining in by the day. As a group they are hugely disruptive to the banking, credit and debit card, and financial services industries; including insurance.

The Blockchain technology is a significant part of the driver. As it stands at the moment digital currency is only a small part of it, on a global scale, hence, a massive opportunity for DNotes.

DNotes is positioned to be much more than just another digital currency. We will be a major player in the future of money and banking and the next generation of e-commerce using DNotes, collectively known as “FinTech.”. That has always been our vision. 2016 be an exciting year when we begin to execute the phase two of our business model which will include a for profit cooperation with DNotes owing up to 25%.

Very interesting article. In any large scale change to the ways we have been used to in global commerce, it's very helpful for a major player to take the lead. There are good signs that this may already be happening. Personally, I am not convinced that there is a clear leader at this time.
