1481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another year is going to end. Bitcoin isn't dead on: December 22, 2023, 03:02:56 PM
Those who don't understand Bitcoin will like to destroy the coin but the decentralized nature of the technology keeps it outstanding stronger. And those what Bitcoin to be dead is happy whenever happened to Bitcoin but since Bitcoin can't be harm and the coin is growing day by day and they can't do anything to destroy it so they have to give up. And anyone who want your dead must plan evil against you. And there is no way those people are not planning evil against you. But karma and nemesis is always on the way to them.

The chart shows that Bitcoin was predicted to die this year but seeing Bitcoin growing stronger this year, made them to stop updating their chart and who knows they are investing in Bitcoin.
1482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best piece of advice to anyone going into bitcoin on: December 22, 2023, 02:47:52 PM
Not everyone who invested in Bitcoin will become a millionaires, some will stop along the line because nod fear. While some will sell to solve problems. So it is not all that will make it. Buying Bitcoin with the DCA is the best approach to accumulate more Bitcoin to the portfolio buy not everyone will still do that because of cost of living and some would prefer buying once or twice a year.

But I don't think Bitcoin can be sold with $1. Bitcoin can only be sold from $4 and above and I calculating from my current country exchange rate fiat currency to dollar exchange rate in the country. Though I don't know of your country but I know that you are just using it for example purpose because I know that no country in the world will buy and sell Bitcoin with $1.
1483  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Inflation rate and Bitcoin. on: December 22, 2023, 02:26:34 PM
You don try for compiling dis kind of thread, di inflation in di country e don too much and why we dey really suffer because di government support di inflation very well. Nai make dem no dey talk anything about di high cost of living in di country.
Now, the rate at which people are demanding in the country is over 28.9% ahead of the rate at which we are producing and that is very bad. Making us depend on imports, making the prices of goods to be high eventually leading to high costs of production factors. The causes and effects of inflation in relationship with bad Economy are all related.
Op you talk well but you for tell us where you get di information. You say di demands now na 28.9% I no dey argue with you but where you come get di data? Or na just imagination you come produced di percentage?
With the rate at which we're even losing foreign investors, we may end up going deeper into the hyperinflation or depression phases of the economic cycle. Nigeria needs serious monetary and fiscal policies, but we're still focusing on important things.
Nigerian Government know weti dem dey do. If dey want to stop all dis nonsense wey dey happens in di country na just small things for dem. Dis thing wey dey happens like dis na joint work with di internal body nd external bodies. Nigerians can produce enough food for demselves wey dem go even use supply anoda countries but di external and internal work together dey destroy do food crops so dat we go only import things from outside countries. All di plan if di government we know dem.

The vice presidential candidate of Indonesia, santiaga Uno, in expressing interest in Bitcoin and for his campaigns said he would raise Bitcoin experts in order to help the country's economy. Let's not even dive into the fact that the Nigerian government has shown no interest whatsoever in Bitcoin talk more of accepting it for Economic purposes. Let's move into the facts that Santiaga wants to raise Bitcoin experts meanwhile, we have Bitcoin experts in this country why isn't it helping the economy even if it's a little? Or does it have to be a political thing before it makes an impact on the economy?
Bitcoin can't determine di inflation of di country but di fiat currency nai go determine di inflation, Bitcoin na just di alternative digital currency dat e no get anything to do with inflation but can make di country economy to grow faster if di country invest in di bear market and sell in di bull market. Nd be like say I don tok am for somewhere before, our naija leaders e no fit do things by demselves and always dey depends on di oyinbo people.

A very famous entrepreneur once said ( and I will never stop making reference to this saying ) " If only the people can understand how money works and how the monetary policies work, the economy will change before tomorrow morning". We as citizens can help this country with individual efforts.
Op I no go agree with you for dis one at all. And if you say you no go fit forget dis guy statement, abeg make you forget in sharp. Di citizens cannot make di economy better for any country. Even though dey know the important nd understand di monetary policy in a country my broda dey no go fit do anything. Na di government go do good environment for di people to do business. Nd dat thing wey you dey talk na REVOLUTION which e no go happens in any day. #Endsars was an Revolutional movement but di government used di same youth plus di army to destroy everything.
1484  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If bitcoin is not decentralized currency what would have happen to bitcoin on: December 22, 2023, 01:40:45 PM
I don't think dem for destroy.am but dey for control Bitcoin nd na dat thing dem wan do but dey no fit do am. Di decentralized nature of Bitcoin make Bitcoin stay strong but make we know say Bitcoin e no dey 100% decentralized because if really understand weti dey happened for the Blockchain dis days you go confirmed shey Bitcoin no get 100% decentrality. If Bitcoin e dey decentralized how come di ordinals come enter di Blockchain dey disturb di network dey increase di transaction fee?

Or na di government dey bring dis ordinals to do Bitcoin Blockchain to destroy Bitcoin? Because me now I no come understand di whole thing again. If Bitcoin e no dey take time im go loss him respect give another coin because dis high transaction fee. As e be like dis campaign managers e don dey start to pay with another coins and dis go make people to leave Bitcoin dey use anoda coins. Oda people sef e don talk am like dis before. Di decentrality of Bitcoin e get as e be now.
1485  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Make Una Avoid Ethnicity Here in the Forum. We're all One. on: December 21, 2023, 11:34:01 PM
We do not have local languages not because we do not want tribalism. In fact, we supposed to encourage local languages or have a threads in it if it people can make such threads to be active. But with what we have noticed in the past, local language threads are just not active as people are not posting there. The reason most people did not choose local languages was not because of tribalism but for not to have inactive threads.
I don't also think dat, e dey good to promote local language here in di forum. If anyone like to promote local language let him or her go to here state and do dat. Charles-Tim you know say local language na one of di problem we dey face for dis country. Do you know dat Ghanaians e dey more united dan Nigerians? Me I no support di local language here in di forum whether we go dey active or inactive. Nigeria dey get unity problem because we no get national language, The Linguists been dey try to bring out a national language for di country but dem no fit so dem leave am and dat was wen dem bring up dis words "WAZOBIA" dem still dey use am for national TV station. Local language dey bring disunity because when I speak I no hear when I speak u no hear. Den all of us go our way. And if you no gree make we create local thread and make it active them u go see weti go happened. Ethnic politics will revive itself instant.

And as di Op talk am make we dey use those two languages we we say we go use am. If we say we want to promote our language here den indirectly, we go just divide ourselves here. And dis thing dey happened for real life for all do states. So me too I no support di idea. Make everyone go promote ur language in your state and not here. Do you know dat all Nigerians have two identity. First to your Tribe and second to the country. And dat is wrong. Like federal government dey do employment dem still dey ask my tribe. Dat is wrong. I am a Nigerian employ me and send me to any parastatal. I am a Nigerian, and dem still dey ask me my State. They are creating disunity first before even the people.

So Charles-Tim you dey di side say make local languages boards should be created then remember it is not going to be only 3 languages oh, and all the languages must be promoted in the local board. Because me too I no go understand any of those 3. Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo. And di follow must created as we, because we have to promote all. Epie, Nembe, Effik, Orobo, Calabari, Ogoni, Ogbia and di rest.
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: December 21, 2023, 09:59:40 PM
Gambling can destroy family bound and relationships. But all depending on the kind of understanding among members in the family. There are sometimes, children would be playing gambles while the parents are not therefore they would against them to participate in gambling and when the pressure is too much the children or the child would just left them to stay with his friends. I have seen couples quarrel and I have also seen a wife stabbed her husband because of gambling.

Conflict or violent among couples because of gambling is not a new thing in the world. There are sometimes wife would used the market money to play gamble and come home with empty handed and they would be heavy fight among them. Then the recent incident in my location. The wife sells provision store. That is milk, Milo and other retail things. And the husband of the wife used to use her business money to play gamble so the business was not growing so the woman decided to park her things and left the man to her parents house. And now the man is alone. So gambling break relationship very well but if there is understanding then there is no problem.
1487  Other / Meta / Re: 2FA added on: December 21, 2023, 09:41:08 PM
In conclusion using the 2FA you have to be a kinda speedy because the code expires every minutes.
Have I started to hear the complain now that 2fa code expires too quick 😂?
This is a very good feature in the protection of the forum users. But I have not really gotten the idea to use the 2fa. I tried to enable the feature but it is not working yet. But I will give a try again in next time. And if really the code expired too soon then it will affect many users because in most time network is not good and whenever the network is bad by delaying to receive the OTP then person will be repeating himself to resend the code for several time. But if the code expires within 50 minutes then it is good because within that period the code must have arrived.

Another feature we need is the forum notification feature. Thanks theymos and PowerGlove.
1488  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Glo and it's network wahala on: December 21, 2023, 07:07:27 PM
Glo is going to lose a lot of customers from their network. Their network is very bad that people are always complaining yet they are not doing anything about it. Glo network was one the top three in the country but I don't think it is in that position again. Their customer service offices are not helping matter. Last month I went to their office in location to retrieve my glo line and before I went to office I had done two network both MTN and Airtel and I did it with just a thousand naira but when I went to glo office they told me that they retrieval is 3k. Omen I left the office without retrieving.

Glo is the worst network so far in the country.
1489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ask anything here on: December 21, 2023, 06:16:40 PM

The entire beginner and Help section is to ask questions and guides. You don't really need to create a specific thread for users and ask them to ask questions. I have a feeling that you won't be able to answer them all.
Exactly, beginners $ Help Board is for newbies to ask questions and others who are familiar and can answer the question will do that to the question. So op You don't have to create a thread that will accumulate all the questions, and if you do that most of the questions will be invisible and people might not see them for give a befitting answers. Let everyone creates their question threads in the general board and not in another thread.

There are some questions newbies will asked that you can't even answer and if the knowledgeable users do not see the question then it becomes invisible.
1490  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Everything has changed on: December 21, 2023, 06:05:43 PM
Change is constant and many things and events can also cause change. Even sickness can change many things in one life. And upon all these things that are happening in the world, USA causes 99% of the changes. One of the major thing that cause change is the inflation. Because the more dollar increase it affects other countries currencies and it also affects the import and those who sell foreign things increase their prices and most of the clothes we wear in Africa are imported. So that now affects all the classes in the society.

And US also pressure some countries to devalue their currencies 💵 and promise them with juicy projects and at the end nothing was done and the people continue to suffer. The natural change never come to suffer man but to bless man but the change that cause by the leaders is the one we're all suffering in. Things are over cause in the global arena.
1491  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin accepted in central African republic; which way Nigeria? on: December 21, 2023, 02:10:42 PM
Central Africa adopted Bitcoin to be their legal tender since last year so it is not a new News in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. If your can see from the image at the bottom of the letter where they signed the signature, you will see the date Bitcoin was adopted in the country. And that should be around April 26, 2022 and at that time I was still outside and when I come in a thread was created for the adoption. And people were making comments.

Adoption of Bitcoin is an individual business and not for all. It is only for those countries which sees Bitcoin as an alternative means to grow their economy can adopt it. Nigerian leaders never take decision on their own but depending on their colonial masters in any international investment. You will notice that once British adopt Bitcoin and instruct Nigeria government to do the same they will do it. We are still on the depending side of the economy. The economic dependency is still very much active in the country.
1492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goverment try to take advange over instabilty in prices of stable coins on: December 21, 2023, 01:41:43 PM
CBDC will end in the scop Le of stable coin  if they are coming to the cryptocurrency ecosystem market space and their patronizing will be very low because of the government control coin. And probably it is only the government officials will even use it. I have heard a news from the main board that USA government is trying to control the cryptocurrency world and by starting it from the altcoins and Centralized Exchanges.

Op I might not agreed with you on the bases that stable coins are not for long term investment. There are some coins that have been in the system for a long period now and they are still existing. And those early investors of the those coins are making profit. Though not all.
1493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC] Eloncoin - Mars, here we come!! 🚀 - POS Energy Efficient. on: December 21, 2023, 01:17:50 PM
I've just checked my wallet and didn't notice that I've been far behind with the blocks but so far I'm already on 2022 and updating it as of typing this.
Maybe some of you don't even noticed that so I did the favor to you to check out your wallets and let the blocks update up to the recent date that we are now.
I changed my mobile device so I am having some issues to login to my wallet and when I successfully login to the wallet I will check mine. I have not also noticed that as well before. And is like I am having issue with my wallet seed phrase, I am trying to import the key but it is written invalid. And which I know that it is very much correct. I have used it before and I don't know why it is giving me problem to login. For the op, is there any other way I can do to login or is it a network problem?
1494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to speed up a transaction? on: December 21, 2023, 12:40:00 PM
I broadcasted a transaction with a too low fee via Mycelium, any way to speed it up?

best regards,

Hank
Op you follow the footsteps of this thread and get your stuck transaction done as he has done his. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5321446.0. This is my first time of hearing this kind of wallet. But you want to spend up your transaction, either you use accelerator or you bump your transaction fee. Those are some of the options to go about it. And as others have said, you have to for the instructions of the comments if not your transaction will stuck for days or weeks. This has happened to but later I cancelled the transaction.
1495  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New crypto stealer: Rhadamanthys Stealer malware on: December 21, 2023, 11:56:26 AM
I feel that this news and the names of viruses come from the developers of antivirus systems, as they work as an indirect promotion for these services.
Exactly. Those antivirus software companies are the same companies that development the same malwares. In years back a friend mine who is into computer science told me that antivirus software creators are the one who create virus as well so that they can sell their market. And this malware to steal currency in online is not a new development but it is an old news. This has been in the banking system of industry for years. Many banks have been in victims in the matter and because of that Banks have also increased their security very right now so the attack on banks have reduced.

And now that they have channeled their stealing malwares to cryptocurrency, which is an individual control system, we should be careful with the kind of link we click in the net and from our emails. In most times they normally send those links to our emails with nice messages and for us to clink and if you mistakenly clicked it then yours is gone. One of the best way to avoid hacking, avoid clicking of links.
1496  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How many scams have you caught? on: December 20, 2023, 11:12:43 PM
There are many that I can't even count them again mostly the Ponzi Schemes that were deceiving people to double their money for a very short period of time. And those fraudulent elements had defrauded me a lot and I also believed that many people had been defrauded like me. And in most time those things happened to someone because of the level of poverty and they want to increase their financial status and unknown to them they scam sites.

All experiences are bad on this. Some of this Schemes have been running in the internet for a very long time and all these period they are compiling funds to run away and within these period they would create trust in their platform and people would be depositing big amount of money. Op just be careful with anything referral links.
1497  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: U don Plagiarist ursef on: December 20, 2023, 10:50:07 PM
Apologies to everyone one here.am very sorry for that and thanks for the warning ⚠️ I really appreciate I had no idea so I have learnt from my mistake and I won’t do that again. Thanks for letting me know I really appreciate God bless you all
This may have happened purposely or not either way, a quote from the good book said, go and sin no more. I am saying go self-plagiarize no more. You should count yourself lucky that Agbe was quick to notice and point it out on the local board without taking it to the thread for it.
I think at this point Agbe should be noble enough to lock the thread to avoid dragging this back and forth unless we want to further discuss how to avoid such incident in the future and how best the member can make correction to this whole thing.

Since we have two languages here which Englishis and Pigin the ops can as well translate the local board thread into pigin then let the other one be.
Yes I also thought of it. Since the main purpose of the thread has been completed then the op should lock the thread for further discussion. And the culprit should not do such thing again because if to say na another outsiders see dis kind thing, the culprit for dey beg or him for don forget him account by now. The culprit should translate the local board thread to pidgin English as others don talk am. So everything go dey oka.

This kind things dem e dey okay so that other people sef go see say local board e no dey for children play. Make everyone sit up and do well. Make everyone dey contribute to the development of the local board.
1498  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is hard!!! on: December 20, 2023, 10:22:15 PM
Lolz!! People are eager to get rich and they don't want to hear anything that will stop them and all they want is to get money so they look for the fastest ways to get money so most of them join trading and thinking that they can makw in trading faster than investment. And I thank God that trading has shown them the disappointing ways. Though trading use to give instant money if you know how to trade.

But you have to be careful when trading. Yes as you said op, trading is not a Ponzi scheme in which one can come in and starts to make money and become rich overnight. Even ponzi schemes don't get you rice overnight.
1499  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: December 20, 2023, 10:03:08 PM
Op is no need to know the percentage of each person portfolios but you can also the diversification of the person's investment. You don't have to know because that is a private affair. And as for me I am only invest in Bitcoin and Eloncoin altcoin. And the two are doing great. Though Eloncoin is just a new project that hit the market recently and it is doing well. Diversification of investment is good and it is also dangerous because altcoins are not reliable. They can disappoint someone at anytime.
1500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: December 20, 2023, 09:46:19 PM
This not a big deal, if I  will create threads to all the people I have introduced Bitcoin to, it will full 20 pages article because they re many but I don't have to to write threads on that. Because that is not an achievement. And also before you introduce Bitcoin to someone you have to know the two major risk involved now. Tell the person the high transaction fee and also the volatile nature of Bitcoin so that when the person comes to the field and anything happens he would know that you have told him before so you would not be blame again in any downfall of the person.
