If this alt-coin is indivisible, it means that if/when it rises in value you will only ever be able to send someone the value of a single unit as a minimum transfer...
Imagine if these were worth as much as Bitcoins are currently... the minimum you could transfer to someone would be over $100... It is great to see that someone if trying to create something that actually has a difference, because most Alt-coins out there are just copy/paste jobs... but this just wont work.
actually the units are small enough and numerous enough that it will not be a problem, encouraging round figures is a good idea.

I get 400 MHash from 5870's but only 250 KHash, so GPUs seems really bad for me for scrypt mining, the myth that they do as many kilohashes mining litecoins as they do megahashes mining bitcoins is just a myth to me so far, and I would much rather buy FPGAs than try windows to see whether it is true that windows gets better kilihashes than linux does.

not a myth, pseudo fact. windows will get you higher rates but that will be punctuated with just as many crashes.

CPU only coins appear to be gaining ground as more and more successful releases are appearing. Jcoin has met a new contender in Pennies that was released via Live chat on cryptsy. A fork of Yacoin with indivisible units and no gpu implementation yet, it seems to be slowly gaining ground. I had a impromptu interveiw with Bitjohn, one of the most active mods @ cryptsy and managed to squeeze some information out of him. With the recent minor flood of coins and multiple requests from a lot of users to add new and existing coins, they have been overwhelmed and have had to re-do their list. I got a clearer explanation of how the coins are chosen and he promised to clarify to the rest of the community. By being open about this, i guess i can overlook the ORB debacle (hehehe). Follow link for full report and updates.

So per block target it is, but sometimes diff may rise to the point that 30 min go by without a block solved....should we leave it like that or adjust the time to force diff dwn after a certain time period. ?

Gonna work on that as soon as I can...
Also, on another issue, I think fees are way too high. If you look at Bitcoin, min. fees are 0.001 BTC for non-free transactions. With Noirdice, we're at 0.1 NRB for non-free transaction. So basically, NRB transaction are 100x more expensive than BTC. I think we should lower them to 0.001 NRB to encourage NRB transactions.
The change could be included with the upcoming difficulty rules to ensure everyone gets those changes at the same time...
agreed, what do you think of the 5 block retarget?
