1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Blockchain Parser on: December 30, 2013, 10:07:05 PM
hi all, i need a tool (both windows and linux) that will parse a blockchain and generate a CSV table that lists the total unspent balance for each address.

willing to pay if we can agree.
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / PoS GPU mining on: December 30, 2013, 11:16:32 AM
The Cent fiasco has produced rare unique situations that have allowed exploration into the world of PoS in the same way Shakezula's sCrypt coin allowed us to test the limits of PoW sCrypt. The PoS difficulty has risen fairly well, that i think it may be time to discuss a PoS GPU miner, either seperate or as part of something like the modified cgminer/ybcminer.

Your thoughts?

Alright, this is the last time I'm going to say this: Pennies are supposed to be worthless and i will not do anything to change that no matter how much you whine about it.

You invested in a currency that was always meant to be worthless from the very start, if you lose any money on it it's your own damned fault. No one advertised this currency, no one told you it was a good idea to invest in it, you did it all on your own specifically against the developers suggestions. If cryptsy delists it that's completely fine by me, i don't know why they ever wasted their time with it in the first place, i don't know why any of you have wasted your time with it. None of you were even supposed to know about this coin, it was just an experiment for shake and his pals at #fridaynightunix. That any of you even care about it is an anomaly i don't understand but I will not change the only purpose this coin had just to appease you.

I would like to request that any further discussion about pennies be done in the forum linked in the OP, this thread was not supposed to be dedicated to pennies but rather the future endeavours of RazorLove services. The continued maintenance of pennies was simply a small courtesy that I am beginning to regret.

Point of correction before i unwatch this thread. I was there the very minute shake announced it on the old cryptsy chat box. He stated clearly it was for fun but did not block commercialization. Either way all that's left is staking and selling. This coin is dead unless something is done soon, the smart ones will have sold all by the 5th because i doubt anyone one who knows will still be buying.

At last count there were 194 OTHER coins to try your magic on.

I take it you are an expert? Take note that your last ten posts have been on this thread, so why don't you take your own advice and shove it up where it belongs.

My point is, there are too many in existence. The whole idea of indivisibility was novel, but it only exacerbates the problem, divisibility should be retuned at the same time that stake is removed to ensure this coin lives and people's investment of time , funds and costs does not go down the drain.
Trying to stick to the idea of having trillions that are continuing to stake is absurd, even with the stake reduction if i have a trillion, i will stake 10 Billion, as a result the mony supply will still grow very fast.

but if we divide by ten billion then a trillion becomes a hundred coins, which grow by 1 coin a week, which is far more manageable growth. in a month even with the stake fix, we may very well reach the point where the client is unable to display the balance.

So it would deal with inflation, absurd numbers, and stay well within transaction limits for A LONG TIME.

Just food for thought.

Your grasp of simple mathematics is terrible, if everything is divided by a <x> it wouldn't make a damn difference in any value. sure, each coin would be worth <x> times more, but it's the same relative value as they have now. The only real effect this would have is eliminating many peoples pennies. The only issue is MAX_TX, which as I've stated before, is easily remedied.

your grasp of the English language is terrible. it would make a damn difference if the total supply is divided because it would return the numbers to sane levels. also you keep overlooking the overall effect of PoS.....60 trillion it would still stake 60 Billion or more weekly with your reduction in stake.

Grasp this......THERE ARE TOO MANY PENNIES IN EXISTENCE, WE WOULD LIKE TO START REMEDYING THAT. I know you are not the original dev, but as a stand in, please do not take such an attitude to people's investment. I am nearly done cashing out, and i'll continue dumping unless a viable fix to the money supply is put in place.. saying you've reduced the stake by so much percentage is meaningless unless you plug in values and calculate based on that.

Perhaps it would be best if we focused on fixing the coin's image as opposed to playing with the details just yet. I understand what you're saying, but this coin as is with POS still has lot of potential, and the thing that is going to kill it is the community unless they attempt to restore faith in it. Seriously, just deleting coins isn't going to fix anything in the long term if nobody is willing to trade in it. Hell, I accidentally lost 500m coins last night. Assuming 1m people are staking 100,000 coins every 9 days, that will cover the new POS system for around 49 days. Why not use those 49 days to show people CENTS is still a viable trading system and stimulate the market? Then you can go from there and start brainstorming how you want to fix the total supply.

I stake Daily, and i today's total is close to 89 Billion. i actually get lazy to send coins to cryptsy, and i think i have a wallet that has staked 4 times without me looking at it...unless the pc shutdown for some reason. I am not saying lets delete coins, i am saying lets change 10000000000000 to 1000 or 10000, this allows us to be able to transfer all our coins in one go, and they will stake in one go. I am saying that the image of this coin is bad due to the absurd amount of coin out there and the way it grows.. so to fix it, let's reduce what the eyes see. If i say i have a trillion cent, it takes time to register how many zeros are involved and then compare that to the 1 coin reward for mining. By dividing the coin supply, we not only save it's image but encourage people to mine again, which in turn will make transactions instant.

Wait... so let me get this straight... we can only use the 0.9.6 client until new year, but stake will continue generating until 8th of Jan? Huh I'm confused here

How clear can i make this...

UPDATE TO v0.10.0 NOW.

Does that make sense?

i know you are busy, but did you ever think about re-introducing decimals and placing at a point where it divides by 10 billion? It means you won't have to bother with increasing the transaction limit. and since there is time you can just put it in the current update.

never had a stake in 7 days, and i bn here since start.

just a reminder, today and tomorrow are the last days you can buy anything that will actually fall in the mega stake period.

  • Exponential decay of mining rewards at 10% every 2100000 Blocks

Why? I never understood this reasoning. By reducing the block reward as time progresses, you are effectively deterring mining. If this coin becomes very successful (which I hope it does), then difficulty will increase. By reducing the block size while difficulty is increasing you are effectively punishing miners. Go look at the network hashrate/difficulty of CGB. See how it dropped like a rock? Guess what, it is because the block reward got chopped in half. No one wants to mine a profitless coin.

Everyone believes that by decreasing block rewards in the future, you are encouraging early adoption now. This is simply not the case. You are not encouraging adoption, you are just encouraging miners to mine now and not mine later. It is as simple as that. The success of a coin is directly related not to the block reward but the coin value, and that is related to its actual utility in the real world. If you can't buy anything with the coin then its valueless.

So instead of following the standard protocol of decreasing block rewards, drop it. Its nonsense. The coin will succeed on the merits of its utility and purchasing power. Not the block reward. Make the block reward constant. Take a look at StableCoin. No need to punish miners which join later.

As a NRB miner and investor. I reject your idea of decreasing block rewards. I think its a giant mistake.

a quick study of economics will assist you. Also, keep in mind that BTC, LTC and other major coins all have a "halving" every so many blocks. Rather than hit miners with shock reductions, gradual reduction is a finer option.

Official Proposal

Barwizi

Version 0.1
=============

Proposal January 2014 (Strategic)

  • Use of a modified Momentum algo to switch from GPU mineable sCrypt to CPU
  • Introduction of PoS of 0.01% per week
  • Exponential decay of mining rewards at 10% every 2100000 Blocks
  • Change of the reward to 100 coins per block
  • Limiting the Cap at 21 million
  • Allowing use of the Voting System to help core team keep afloat financially
  • Maintain Experimental state of coin but introduce securities (Share Certificates) directly tradeable for fiat currency
  • Introduce a share system that equates a holders's wallet balance to a % stake in the ALL VENTURES undertaken by Weiss International Crypto Finanace Division
  • Importation of the current coin of choice for WICFD i.e Noirbits balances to enable stake holders to transfer all holdings to the new chain if they wish to partake in the company business
  • Possible introduction of Post mining proof of stake that will reward those who opt to stay on the Original NRB chain, essentially for every coin year (~262800 blocks) Users with active NRB Bank accounts will  be awarded 60% stake on the coins in their account in the last 10k blocks before coin year passes

I'm trying to write a batch file that sends 900k to a different wallet when run, that means you get at least 27 days befor you have to run it again
That is more or less how my script works, sent 9m at a time to a different wallet. Leave for a few stakes then do it again. Far easier to write in linux though.

Having a massive number of transactions in the wallet causes the gui to have major performance issues (200mb wallet), definitely not going to miss that part of it or all this maintenance.

I'm also kinda confused Tongue, so I'll put it in a simple question:
so I have like 3bn CENT on cryptsy and just installed the Pennies - Piggy Bank on my windows. I can transfer them all to the wallet in chunks of 900m and then wait 9 days or is there more to it?
(what is with transfering to a second wallet? will it work for this amount of CENT in one wallet or do I need to have smaller amounts)

to get them out of cryptsy , use chunks of 900m. then once they are in your wallet, create another and send smaller chunks to it.
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Black Watch // NOIRBITS RE-VAMP THREAD!!!!!! (OP MANAGED) on: December 27, 2013, 07:04:11 AM
Your plan seems like a great idea Barwizi!

I also like the part about merging some dying coins, but only if the value of NRB 2.0 is something like 85% NRB + 15% total of other coins. Anything higher than that and we'll be diluting all the hard work we did mining NRB until now with a few people who bought a crap-ton of dying coins at ridiculously cheap price in my opinion.

you are of course right, For NRB 2.0 only NRB can be imported and they will mean a lot. I just need to reduce the sharecount and ensure that no individual especially exchanges, holds too much of a controlling share and can override either my or the group's decisions. As for the merged sCrypt coin, i'll leave it to the NRB community to choose which coins we accept as this is part of the company's projects, as it stands any proceeds made from this will be divided and recorded, the actual payouts will be made once i get someone to design the website and engine I need. The payouts are based on how much NRB 2.0 you hold.

1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Black Watch // NOIRBITS RE-VAMP THREAD!!!!!! (OP MANAGED) on: December 26, 2013, 08:46:47 PM
So in short you want to implement AES as hash and have the same system as MMC? As a shareholder of NRB i have to ask... are coins converted 1:1? And what will be the specs of the new coin..

Any ETA?

Ok, the actual algo hasn't been decide but AES looks good thus far. As for conversion, no it will probably be a lower ratio. I intend to lower the total supply in a way that makes the share issuing simpler for me. Issuing 50 million share via post would be tough on me. I think bringing it down to 12 million would be great, that way i can mail paper wallets that represent shares to people, and should i manage to get this 3D printer working...i'll begin printing plastic coins with the Bar-code wallets inside.

So what happens if I transfer 10 billion coins from Cryptsy to the 9.6 wallet?  Will I get the payout in 9 days which would give me 100 billion?

That would be crazy unreal.

Or are these people right that I need to send the coins in batches of 100 million or less (which would take a long time) or the payout won't work?  So can I send all the coins at once or not - I'm seeing differing opinions.

Thanks!

ensure that  you do not pass the 900 mill per tx.

then once they are in your wallet make sure to send to another wallet with smaller transactions.

Thanks for the info... Something nobody has tried before : I will follow with interest !

Ok, all updates will be posted here.

Cool, I like both ideas. So how would opting to change to NRB 2.0 work? Just updating a wallet?

you would import the private key of your NRB wallet
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Black Watch // NOIRBITS RE-VAMP THREAD!!!!!! (OP MANAGED) on: December 26, 2013, 02:52:02 PM
we'd have to discuss that.

For joining with others.

Here is what i see, I've had four guys ask me to take over their coins, 2 of them are like NRB in that they have their good days.
Users are tired of switching form one coin to the other trying to mine the most profitable. So if we pick out 9 abandoned scrypt coins that are traded and create a block that import all their balance up to a certain block number, allocate a given % of overall supply to each coin....we would have united 10 TRADED coins into one. meaning users need only mine one coin.

This will be optional and attempting to game it by transferring coins after the genesis is built will be pointless. Users can choose to join or continue mining seperately, but once you join, it's a commitment.

The benefits are if a lot of users join, we can have a pretty powerful userbase. By using current exchange rates of the coin we can ensure fair import into the new chain, as a result we can essentially raise the number of coins to become ALL scrypt coins.

A coin of coins.

Introduction of a different algo

Using a new algo means we could possibly make this coin a cpu only coin, which would save us from the advent of the Scrypt ASIC. while others say those are a good thing , i beg to differ, only the guys who got them first with BTC every really made ROI, if it wasnt for the chimese pump, most would have just bought losses.

By ensuring CPU only or CPU and GPU, it stays within range of the average miner. Others complain about botnets and GPU farms, but would you compare their hits versus a ASIC farm?

This is an interesting idea. Some notes and questions:

1.  What are the technical/progaming challenges in merging several coins ? Presumably they all need to be hashing from same scrypt ?

2.  Do you have sufficient information on the developers with whom you intend to collaborate ?

3.  Would there be an apportionment/entitlement problem with allocation of stakes from old blockchains ?

4.  I assume NRB would act as the senior chain (ie the benchmark coin for number and value), and the others would merge in, if that is the intention ?

Please put me right if I am making any incorrect assumption !

This will be a once off thing, merging the chains by importing is not limited to sCrypt coins. We could literary grab any coin and give it a place in this chain.
I intend to merge only coins that are traded bu have been abandoned by their devs.

The allocation is not an issue, by deciding say we will merge 10 coins.... we simply look at it's value and give it an equivalent portion.  Example:-

we dedicate redeemable 10% of the new chain to coin imports, look at the explanation below.

Say we look at coin X traded at 0.001 BTC each and there are 1000 of them
                            y               0.01  BTC each                     1000 of them
                            z               0.00001 BTC each                 100k of them

coin each unit of y is equivalent to 10 of x and 1k of z, so we allocate the 10% based 1:10:1000 if we were importing those three only.

The math becomes more complicated the more coins involved but it is feasible. unlike the MMC/PTS import that dictated a prie based on dev's opinion, this will be based on actual market price on a given day and publicized so people can pick which coin(s) they wish to hold.

The trade is based on market price not NRB, the option i will give NRB holders is the ability to import into NRB 2.0 which will stick to the spirit i launched NRB in ...i.e no premine, experimental and capable of expansion.

NRB 2.0

While some things are cleared up, it is basically a migration from Scrypt to a new algorith that will be ASIC resistant for the forseeable future, and what makes it seperate from those who opt to join in the sCrypt coin of coins , is that holders automatically own shares in The bank and hosting project i've been talking about. The Original NRB chain is unsuitable for many reasons including the fact that some coins had "disappearing effect" also some individuals hold unhealthy amounts that would constitute a problem for share issuing (You will be mailed actual share certificates on my Birthday....i'm planning to open the hosting side and small shop and trade on that day)

At the beginning I wanted to say hello and thank you all for trying to save cent.
I have small problem. First cents I've sent to wallet were on december 15th but it was only 2x100, so not so important.
I've sent next batch on December 16 so Today is the tenth day, and my saving interest is still 0.
My cents were sent in batches: 3x900K, 5x99999999 and 1x35M. Should I wait more, or maybe these transactions 99999999 were too big?
Maybe it's like kalgecin says I need to wait 18 days for the first time, but on the other hand I've read in this topic
that someone send cents on 3rd Sept. and they multiplyed on 12th Sept. so 9 days.
Should I be worried about it? Would be nice to get small part frome this huge cent cake Smiley

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

wait until it's more than 10 days to worry
