1481  Economy / Goods / Re: [Ann] Shirtoshi.com: finally, nice bitcoin shirts! on: May 07, 2013, 04:49:56 PM
I think it's ironic I can't buy them with Bitcoin.

Eh?

You can! The prices are in USD but you can ONLY pay in BTC!
Really?
You should make that more clear on the webpage. Showing only USD give the impression that you are accepting USD.

well if someone wants to get around it with a script they can
Yes, but the script would have to wait 4 hours refreshing. That may not be attractive to spammers who want to post messages in seconds.
1484  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Newbie Status Really That Hard? on: May 06, 2013, 05:52:54 AM
If I understand correctly, the newbie status is the first step to implement something like this.
1485  Other / MultiBit / Re: Still experimental? on: May 06, 2013, 02:38:43 AM
It's very, very hard to actually lose money with Bitcoin ...

No, there have been enough cases of people loosing btc by sending funds from a wallet and deleting the change adress. If you send partial funds a new adress is generated for change. People belived funds are still on original adress and delete wallet because they have a backup at home ...
Technically, the coins are not lost, they're just unaccessible. But yes, that's something to be very careful about.

How does MultiBit handle change addresses?

it sad that so many PC drones can't distinguish men from women, gays from normals, blacks from honkies. youve all been spoonfed so much egalitarian nonsense from school that youve turned into mindless auomata without realising it. it reminds me of orwells 1984 and the concept of newspeak.

you poor, hopeless vermin
Why is there a need for a distinction?
Also, who are those “normals” you talk about?

You may not offer items that represent intermediary currency because it is important that users know the specific good or service they are buying.
But Bitcoin is not an intermediary currency. Some may use it as such, but it's not the real purpose of Bitcoin.
1488  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CoinMap - Map showing places where Bitcoin is accepted on: May 05, 2013, 09:40:46 PM
Well, they can't be compared since Google Maps is not Google Data. Google Maps is not data.

OpenStreetMap(OSM) on the other hand is data, so no real comparison can be made with Google Maps since Gmaps use either prerendered maps from their own private data store or they show satellite/aerial imagery.

In simple practical terms your data is stored on bitcoin.travel but on coinmap.org your data gets stored on OpenStreetMap.

CoinMap just shows places that have the tag payment:bitcoin=yes Smiley
Any more questions? I would be glad to answer them  Cheesy
My question wasn't about comparing Google Maps to OpenStreetMap but comparing bitcoin.travel to coinmap.org
Like, which one has more or better features? Or, if I have a shop, where should I announce myself?

For the time being, I don't (yet) have a solution for Niko's hack
So, will you inform us when you do have a solution? I would like to be sure it's the most secure possible before starting to use it.
1490  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CoinMap - Map showing places where Bitcoin is accepted on: May 05, 2013, 03:04:39 AM
I see there's another service similar to this: http://bitcoin.travel/
Some differences are that it uses Google Maps, and apparently there's a small fee for being listed.

What do you think?
1491  Local / Esquina Libre / Re: multibit mensaje de error on: May 04, 2013, 10:37:07 PM
Usa la opción de “Restaurar transacciones y cadena de bloques”. De preferencia pon de fecha de inicio un día antes de cuando tuviste el problema.
1492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: what to do ? 2.5 BTC lost forever? on: May 02, 2013, 02:29:30 AM
If you just did a normal delete of wallet.dat it should be recoverable from the trash bin, right click, and recover item.
AYFKM?
People are trying to help. It's a possible scenario. If it wasn't what you did, then just say so. No need to get angry.

Its down for me.
You're right. I could get before, but now I'm getting a 403 Forbidden error.
1495  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Intersango vs Mtgox? on: April 28, 2013, 09:42:14 PM
No tenía idea de la historia de Intersango.

Pero, si Intersango sigue funcionando, ¿por qué su tipo de cambio está en 12 USD? ¿O es que la página principal no la tienen actualizada?

Do you have international shipping?
1497  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How would you like to design a bitcoin banknote? on: April 28, 2013, 05:37:13 AM
Man I wish someone would just come up with a simple program that compiles all of the designs, allows users to submit designs (which should be approved first-just to make sure they're not like the Ron Paul/Eagle bill at the beginning of this thread lol) and, like bitaddress, generates a keypair and puts it on the bills as QR codes in the load and redeem fields. There are so many good designs, its something the whole community could benefit from. If I could afford it, I'd offer a reward/bounty for something like this.
Something as simple as a wiki page listing all good designs could be done, in my opinion.

Watching your screenshot made me realize I have a mistake in one sentence Embarrassed
I've already corrected it, and also added the rest. (I'm still missing a single N; I don't know what it means)
