1481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You think terrorist groups around the world use Cryptos as a means of payment? on: November 30, 2019, 07:22:38 AM
I would not be surprised if they do trade with cryptocurrency considering that cryptocurrencies are really hard to trace compared to the conventional means of trading such as cash or valuable resources. Unless their funders don’t really accept cryptocurrency and they stick with the older methods of payment.

terrorists usually use cryptocurrency or bitcoin payment systems to fund acts of terrorism.
But I think terrorists now prefer to use more conventional methods of interbank transfers, they tend to use cryptocurrency when they make small payments such as to redeem illegal goods.
1482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who has entered a shop (non-BTC accepting) and asked if they will accept Crypto? on: November 30, 2019, 05:52:49 AM
I ask at every single store I visit - most people haven't a clue what I'm on about when I ask. Hopefully that encourages them to research later.

Of the people that knew of it - some said it's too low volume (1 in every 500 customers or smth asking to pay with crypto) and others say they would rather refer them to an ATM (or install one depending on how big demand is) and have them come back with cash.

maybe some people in this world don't know what crypto is, so it's only natural that they don't like to make payments with crypto.
but I think in the future it is very possible that some shops or other shopping places will adopt bitcoin or other altcoin to be used as their payment channel like in some cryptocurrency-friendly countries like Japan where almost all of their stores use bitcoin as payment, and now we seeing cryptocurrency is very growing among people to adopt cryptocurrency of course this is very lucky for us crypto users.
1483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mass adoption of crypto on: November 30, 2019, 04:01:44 AM
if that happens, bitcoin will be cheap, and we don't know what cheap it is, I'm not sure to say it !!

You don't need to worry too much, it is very unlikely that bitcoin is no longer feasible because I think bitcoin will still be valuable because we know that bitcoin has limited inventory, because as far as we see today every asset with limited inventory will always be valuable like bitcoin and gold, although the world will later launch their crypto which can be controlled by the government and I believe it is only for their benefit through taxation.
1484  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Upbit exchange hacked & 50 millions dollar stolen ! on: November 29, 2019, 12:38:03 PM
In my opinion with the upbit exchange hacking incident it is not possible to influence the price of bitcoin down because during that incident and at this time we have not seen the price of bitcoin go down at $ 7,000 anymore .
But I think this thread has been discussed before.

1485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese football players wear bitcoin wallet QR code T-shirt, popular social net on: November 29, 2019, 11:19:56 AM
I personally am not too sure if it is a real soccer player because I think the OP is taking pictures in entertainment applications similar to tiktok.
and before that I also saw a number of soccer teams using the bitcoin logo on their shoulders like one of the English Watford football clubs sponsored by Sportsbet.io. it is very likely that in the future there will be many soccer clubs sponsored by bitcoin because it is a good idea to promote bitcoin through the soccer sport that is loved by many people.
1486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so few women buying into Bitcoin? on: November 29, 2019, 04:00:23 AM
Most women often do business online stores, such as selling clothes online.

yes maybe that's true because we know basically the nature of women is a teaser. lol  Grin

so I think women of course they prefer to follow the trends of clothing and beauty compared to crypto technology, but before I also heard that in America more women are adopting bitcoin compared to men.
1487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Satoshi hides his identity? on: November 29, 2019, 03:24:43 AM
Almost every day a new person comes up with the claim that he/she is the real Satoshi. The real satoshi surely does not want any kind of fame. If he/she/they want fame he could have disclosed his identity earlier. But what could be the possible reason that Satoshi still hides his identity? Does he have a big plan for the future?

In my opinion satoshi nakamoto anonymized his identity because he might know that if the public knew him, the government would definitely ask him to work together so that bitcoin could be controlled or managed by its central organization to benefit them.

and I'm sure satoshi has planned all of this to remain silent forever.
1488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest Shopping Mall in USA Goes All in BTC ATMs for Holiday on: November 28, 2019, 12:30:49 PM
This is the biggest News for the adoption of bitcoin.  Time for bitcoin everywhere.  Smiley

Quote
“With the strategic timing of this new installation of Bitcoin ATMs at Simon Mall locations, customers can conveniently buy Bitcoin while doing their Black Friday and Christmas holiday shopping. Bitcoin is the perfect gift for family and friends this holiday season. Our Bitstop Bitcoin ATM mall locations are at the forefront of a trend as Bitcoin and digital currencies become part of the mainstream culture.”

I think this is one of the advantages for us bitcoin users because currently digital technology is increasing among countries and of course it is very easy for us to shop because now it has provided bitcoin atm in several malls or in other shopping places like in Japan which almost completely they access their bitcoin through atm.
1489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockstack Bitcoin Airdrop is it Genuine? on: November 28, 2019, 09:44:04 AM
I recently heard about Blockstack Bitcoin Airdrop and I am literally confused about the airdrop. Why do they need to conduct such an airdrop? They are well placed and are working.

Is it genuine or Is it is a scam? I got this information while searching Google. This article - https://cointikka.com/airdrop-btc-blockstack/ came on the first page stating $1 worth of Bitcoin every week.

Is this a scam, did anyone get those satoshis? What happens next If I follow those instructions?

Please reply. Thanks.

I think this is authentic because bitcoin blockstack is currently holding airdrop events on several exchanges like one of them on blockchain.com exchange they will give us $ 10 if we have passed KYC to the gold level, but at this time I haven't participated in the event because I'm lazy sending personal information to them.
For me it's impossible if it's a fraud because we know that the blockchain exchange is a very popular exchange that is used by crypto.
1490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-Satoshi Conference 2020 (Dubai) on: November 28, 2019, 08:21:00 AM

Hello Every Ones,

I have been thinking to organise a Bitcoin-Satoshi Conference since many years, but could not do it because I was too busy with other things. So, I have decided to host a Bitcoin-Satoshi conference in Dubai 2020. It will be good idea to invite all the Faketoshis there, and of course they all can meet the real Satoshi in a Satoshi Round Table gathering, if the real Satoshi suddenly turn up there in Dubai.

I need some logistic support from Bitcoin Community, particularly from the Bitcointalk Forum members. If you would like to attend and assist the Bitcoin-Satoshi Conference in Dubai, Please DM me.

Regards,

Moses, BitcoinMoses

actually your idea is very good because you hold a bitcoin conference and invite all fake satoshi to be there and talk about cryptocurrency in the future, of course some who are present at the event will get broad insights and some of us will also support the event.
But I think the real satoshi will never be present at all events held because satoshi always anonymizes his identity to the public.
1491  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Upbit hack ...going to Huobi Korea! on: November 28, 2019, 06:43:40 AM

You should describe your thread in detail, not just leaving a link, Upbit hacking is widely discussed on social media, whether it's true hacking or the old way to fool users, the problem was that there were many scam companies with hacking reasons, I'm not an upbit user so I don't know for sure the real problem.

this is not a drama but their exchange was completely hacked, their hackers moved 342,000 ETH into an unknown wallet and the upbit team is currently suspending deposits or withdrawing cryptocurrencies which are expected to take at least two weeks to resume deposit and withdrawal services as usual.

if you don't believe in an upbit incident, you can immediately see the history of the wallet used by the hacker 0xa09871AEadF4994Ca12f5c0b6056BBd1d343c029.
1492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and New Ukrainian cinema on: November 27, 2019, 10:41:49 AM
I see that it has become a common practice to mention Bitcoin in films, theater performances and etc. This means that Bitcoin is globalizing, which is great for its developing and accepting.

indeed now there are already in several films that play bitcoin as the main payment flow and of course this is very helpful in promoting bitcoin so it is in great demand by many people and making them adopt bitcoin, but unfortunately now some of their bitcoin adopters are strictly prohibited by governments in countries- certain countries to adopt bitcoin, like China whose president hates bitcoin a lot.
1493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does cryptocurrency mining produce more pollution? on: November 27, 2019, 07:54:27 AM
Ever since cryptocurrency has existed people have started to mine it using their PCs or Miners’ GPUs. Considering that cryptocurrency mining consumes a lot of electricity because of it using a lot of processing power, does it really cause a large ecological impact on the world?

Every time I see mining operations around the world, there are multiple miners in one place ranging from dozens to even hundreds in for those who can afford a lot of miners. That got me thinking that since there are a lot of GPUs running at once then it must use a lot of electricity which means that power plants, as a result, will need to generate more electricity which will lead to more pollution.

Is the carbon footprint of these mining operations large enough to make a large impact on the world or it doesn’t really cause a lot of pollution in the long run.
What do you guys think and are there any greener solutions for mining cryptocurrencies?

now bitcoin or other cryptocurrency miners continue to grow which makes it possible to provide higher electricity, we are certainly very worried that there will be a world electricity crisis, and of course cryptocurrency mining can cause environmental damage (pollution) the greenhouse effect, imagine if in the future miners bitcoin in the future will establish a bigger company that needs more electricity.

so the miners now really need a solution to tackle world pollution even further.
1494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOTHING IS ABOVE BITCOIN on: November 27, 2019, 06:24:11 AM
Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream and HashCash, has said: "Nothing is above Bitcoin, no Central Bank Digital Currency, no stable coins."

He continued that: "I think that blockchains are more about permissionless, uncensorable usage and free market money. I think while it is possible and useful for some use cases, like crypto trading, to have stable coins, they inherently fall short of Bitcoin as they have custody risk, and if there is a central bank underwriting also traditional establishment interests reflected in the operation which may look unattractive to users."

yes that's true, especially if we see now that bitcoin has become a trend for people to adopt and bitcoin investment is now increasing which is likely because investors are now very interested in bitcoin to be used as protection for their assets because some of them are very confident that bitcoin will give them more profit compared to fiat currency, and now fiat currency investment has faded slowly because they are bored with governments that always collect taxes when they get a little money from investing in fiat money.
1495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The new Faketoshi strikes again! on: November 27, 2019, 04:48:13 AM
Jorg Molt was recently ridiculed on Twitter for claiming to be a co-founder of Bitcoin despite no one ever hearing of him. Today, he tweeted that Bitcoin’s price should recover because he just made an apparently large purchase.

Early this month, BeInCrypto reported on a new ‘fake Satoshi’ named Jorg Molt. Introduced at the SIMS convention at Symbiosis International University as the ‘co-founder of Bitcoin,’ Molt has since then stuck by his story. Despite being ridiculed on crypto-Twitter and beyond, Molt maintains he was present at Bitcoin’s founding, and subsequently claims to own 250,000 BTC.

Source link here

The first time I heard of the new Faketoshi himself, Jorg Molt, he was confronted by my man, I repeat! My man! Ken Bozak. Ken was in a blockchain conference where he took a video of himself pointing to Jorg Molt, the self-proclaimed new Faketoshi, saying that he is a scammer. I just watched his entire clip on Twitter, where they even took Ken's cap.

My man, Ken Bozak, was brave enough to do this to really expose Jorg "The New Faketoshi" Molt. I met Ken personally at Token 2049 Hongkong, and he was a fun guy to talk to.

So the new Faketoshi claims that he owned a whooping 250,000 BTC? Are you freaking kidding me man! Since I'm active in conferences, I would not hesitate to take a selfie with Faketoshi saying "I'm a huge basher of yours!" before pressing the button.

of course now it is familiar to us when we hear about people claiming to be false satoshi because previously there were some figures who also claimed to be satoshi but we are not easy to believe even though they showed 250,000 btc, because we believe the original satoshi will never return to publicize his identity, maybe he knew it would be a threat to him if the government and politicians knew his true identity.
1496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Hit As Per The Experts Predictions? on: November 27, 2019, 03:16:08 AM
Well!! Crypto market is quite slow nowadays as a lot of crypto experts predicted their bitcoin predictions

Will Bitcoin Hit Again?

maybe some of us of course no one believes in predictions because basically predictions are just luck for someone, and now a lot when we see experts predict the price of bitcoin but the results do not always match what they predict.
I don't think it's only experts who can predict, but we all also predict what we want because it's just luck.

In contrast to the analysis that must have high intelligence that can only be done by experts.
1497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would it be realistic for the world to run on cryptocurrencies? on: November 26, 2019, 12:34:03 PM
It is quite possible to replace Fiat money with cryptocurrencies. But this requires that all people understand what cryptocurrency is and why it is needed.

if mass adopters happen in the future, maybe bitcoin will become the main payment stream. This certainly will greatly facilitate the public if they want to do transactions with bitcoin, and this may be a difficult competition for fiat currencies, but if that happens it does not mean that fiat currencies are no longer valid because some of their people will also need banknotes to be given to their children and it is very unlikely if they give bitcoin to their children to buy snacks.
1498  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bizarre crash! What cause bitcoin crash?? on: November 26, 2019, 11:02:58 AM
Its second major crash in 3 days going below $7000. What you guys think what cause bitcoin crash because i think uncertainty  of market makes bitcoin crash. I think many of investors should holding there coins and hoping for the best because bitcoin is a fighter and somehow manage to came back at number 1. What you guys thinking about this?

In my opinion this is not an accident and you don't need to worry about strange things when the price of bitcoin goes down because this is one of the properties and habits of bitcoin that fluctuates, after bitcoin goes down like the last few days, and it is also very possible that the price of bitcoin will soon rise to $ 10 thousand.

I think now bitcoin remains the king of other altcoins even though prices are now declining because bitcoins greatly affect the prices of all altcoins.
1499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 6 safety concerns? on: November 26, 2019, 08:39:02 AM
what would be your top 6 safety concerns you have in the crypto space?

whether it be like scammers? wallet protection? exchange protection ? integrity of content creators?

lets hear it . and why you think its a concern

when using cryptocurrency honestly I personally am very worried about scammers because apart from that problem of course we already know how to avoid those problems, unlike scammers who are very difficult for us to predict because they are certainly very good at making projects or platforms that are attractive to many people to try to invest in their projects, and now it's not surprising that some people suffer losses due to the actions of scammers.
1500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins are left? on: November 26, 2019, 07:10:03 AM
There have been almost 18 million Bitcoins created. We know that some have been lost over the years and can’t ever be recovered except potentially with quantum computers.

18 million - lost coins = ?

My question is how many Bitcoins are left, which is really a question of how many have been lost?

basically the total supply of bitcoin that we know is 21 million in total and circulating now only amounts to 18,054,212 BTC.

so it is very possible that the current available bitcoin inventory is only 2,945,788 BTC.
