1501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Have access to 12 PCs.. Which currency is best to mine in my case? (CPU MINING) on: April 02, 2016, 10:32:06 AM
There are some altcoins which are profitable for mining with cpu. A little google search will help to give you some alternative to bitcoin.

If electricity is cheaper in your country, then I think you can mine MONERO. The below article may help you.

http://cpucoinlist.com/how-to/cpu-mine-monero-pool/

Also, you can try mining reddcoin or clam as well. But I can't guide you as I have never tried that.

So I downloaded in a test Windows 7 old PC dual core and 5 GB ram the cryptominer. It generated a wallet address, I connected to minero official pool and it started mining. So far everything OK.
Question is how to I withdraw this Monero to another wallet of mine, more specifically for example to a mining website that offers Monero and I can exchange it for BTC ?

Do some calculations and you will see your talking about VERY small amounts of BTC in most cases CPU mining.  Have you done ROI on mining Monero?  I'm guessing it costs more in electricity then you make in BTC.

But it would depend on pool on withdraw, most are easy.  But you need a exchange if you search about Monero.... you will find exchanges pretty easily.  I think you have some reading to do.

But after doing the reading I highly suggest you do ROI math.  As I think your wasting your time.
1502  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to collect BTC ?? on: April 02, 2016, 10:27:59 AM
*snip getting ridiculously long

Absolutely trade in bitcoin will be very profitable, we can get many bitcoin with trade. Yes perhaps now many people who trade in order to obtain many bitcoin.

Ok but I don't really understand what you meant by trading. Are you say offering of services and collec through bitcoin?

I think he mean trading by trading altcoin with some exchanger. As we know that trading with altcoin as same as we trade like forex
There are 2 exchangers that trusted and long exist : poloniex & bittrex
I've trade there over a year ....

You can also trade for fiat money.  Say trade BTC for USD, and try to gain money by selling and buying back.  It is hard to to speculation not being to accurate.

Since it mentions how to collect.  If you have altcoins which is also another way to trade do not keep them on the exchange.  To many are lazy and keep coins on exchanges... it's been bad news for many people.  Use a real wallet you control it's better in most cases.
1503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best coin to mine with GTX 970? on: April 02, 2016, 10:23:25 AM
Ethereum ~20 MH/s
Stats:
Per Month 11.25 ETH - $128.30
Your electricity rate per kWh?

Can't mine ETH.. It makes my computer laggy as f*ck. When writing letters come to screen after 2 secs, and mouse pointer is lagging too. Can't really do anything when mining eth.

 5,79c/kWh

GPU mining is really a thing of past I would not invest much time as so many are pump/dump.   If you already have gear... eth is going to be best option.  But again I don't suggest GPU mining for most.

Buying new GPU's is expensive... and turning a profit is not easy like it was years ago where 3 month ROI's were almost guaranteed.    Also I would not mine on a PC your using as you mention lag.   Dedicated mining machine is more practical, due to high intensity needed in most cases.
1504  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help trouble shooting Antminer S7 5.06TH on: April 02, 2016, 10:04:02 AM
I got the new psu's today. I have a picture and would love to see what you guys think. How do i post one? I don't know if you can see this but it's on my Google drive 20160401_141931.jpg

Did the new PSU's fix the problem?  I think that is the big thing we are wondering.

On images you should be able to post use the picture frame button and post the URL picture between code.  It say's insert image if you hover above it.   But you will need to use a image hosting site that works with bitcointalk. Some sites it does not display from right.
1505  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New one fan S7 on: April 02, 2016, 09:55:17 AM
Yeah, like they tested S7 heatsink design in S5+

And the 3 hashing boards per miner they tested in them, which I have actually have groan to like.  Took me a while to get use to it but at this point with having big PSU's around and 240 I kinda like the power of having 1/3 more in each unit.

Only thing I wish I could get them to do is use RPI's as controller as easy to get replacement and sd backup is so easy.   But I think BBB are here to stay.
1506  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: April 02, 2016, 09:48:58 AM
I have a R1 again, just need get it set up.  So that is a project sometime this week for me.
When you do get it going again come join the German R1 fun run, it's something to give purpose to the R1 besides using it to control U3.  Well, not much purpose, but it is fun at least!  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1411813.0

I already got one... my old one in fact.   It's on my list of projects to get around to.  Thanks for that link looks like it could add some fun to it.  I have spent some of my hobby time playing with my drone lately.

Thanks to selling it via ebay/paypal is why I got it back.  Happy customer day 1 great feedback left about sale... and little less then month later he wanted refund.  I'm guessing he grew bored of it.   But it is almost scary how easy he was able to return a working device and keeping it and running for almost a month.

First miner I have gotten back via papal luckily it was a small R1.  I have been selling since A1 day's on ebay... guess I have been lucky to have gotten good customers in other sales.

1507  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1:1st wireless networking device with uᴉoɔʇᴉq mining chip on: April 02, 2016, 09:40:50 AM
Ok so a little update to my issues ive been having with hooking up multiple U3's to the R1.

My old U3 ended up being dead, so that's now going. I bought a replacement which is being recognised by the R1, BUT, they will both drop out intermittently. Would this be due to the usb hub being non-powered and the R1 cant supply enough power, or would it be due to something else?

They are both hooked up to an atx breakout board with the 24pin connector from my psu connected (until I can get another 8 or 6pin pci cable).

Thanks for any and all help received already and for any future help Smiley

I have three U3s on a single R1, using a high-powered hub, and powered from a PSU, and I have the same problem you describe. I don't think it's a hub issue. My next step is going to be trying the same setup on a RPi with cgminer and see if the same thing happens.

My R1 is also connected to 3 x U3s and its running fine.
Hub is used is a cheapo unpowered 4 port hub that cost me a few bucks.
150ghs up wards no issues.
I have OC only a notch up for the U3 config.

Now that I have a R1 again I have it sitting on my desk waiting on me to play with again.   With U3's before I used a cheap USB 2.0 hub aswell.  It works fine for the job.

I did not OC mine though I know some do.  I did not like how hot the U3's could get.  I used PC fan's I had already to add more airflow which fixed that for me  a while back.
1508  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New one fan S7 on: April 02, 2016, 09:38:07 AM
snip

Either it is the better version of s7.
Or only the prettiest ... for the general public.
We must try now.

It is more about being the lowest price S7 I think vs other things mentioned.  Likely they save a good amount of money selling thousands with 1 vs 2 fan's.   It's all about lowest production cost.  And coupons make lowest S7 miner price so got more attraction (at least lowest price with batch being sold).

I suspect after I thought about it they might have been testing this design for next gen.  Think about when they are designing next gen if they can keep one fan vs 2 for tens of thousands of units that will add up on savings again.
1509  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: My investments and planning with uᴉoɔʇᴉq on: April 02, 2016, 09:31:30 AM
Why even bother with the pump and dump alt coins.

At the end of the day, lets say we did take that route to mine whatever name coin, then hope people buy in. We can cash out - but the day it doesnt then we got a ton of GPU plus debt overhead and a sad story to tell.

The reason is there are people that want to buy in super cheap and hold, and get massive profit's.  They think it has possibility of being next bitcoin or even just become a decent altcoin.  That being said most are pump/dump, with a new logo and utter crap.

I loved my GPU day's was fun always something to tinker with, but it was time consuming compared to modern asics on amount of time I spent on rigs.  And a lot more babysitting.

The price of a great GPU is just expensive you could get a S7 for less then some of the top of line cards, so you are right about could be big debt.
1510  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The halving is coming. What's your next move? on: April 02, 2016, 09:26:36 AM
I sold some but want to get rid of all my inventory of ASIC miners. Concentrating on ETH right now and might get back into BTC mining in 3-6 months.

I don't think it's a horrible idea on current inventory.  With current coupon price on S7's it almost makes me want to see current gen and buy back in after next gen, and after we see next gen difficulty jumps at least at first.

Double I ever sell all my asics, but tempting as I  see S7 price pushing down current gen in value as we speak.

So maybe Bitmain and other manufacturers are already mining with the new miners and they are keen to get rid of the old S7 as well.

It's possible we just don't know, and for most companies won't know.  We know there are B11's that were made for internal mining but did not hit specs they later will.  So there is one company with next gen being used.

Bitmain is good about being quiet we likely will not know unless leak, which are becoming fewer and fewer from them.   I thought they might have been doing this with S7 coupon.  But feel I was wrong after seeing new batch without fan.

And there are some like that announced next gen miners to early, and I don't think we will see them.  But I wont call out the big one I'm thinking of.
1511  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What to do with old miners? on: April 02, 2016, 09:22:35 AM
Hey there, I currently have 4 S3 miners. I am going to purchase an S5 soon. What do most of you guys do with your old miners? Do you guys sell your old miners or just use them in your mining software?
This is why people should turn to cloud mining, so that they do not have to deal with old hardware sales to recover initial investments.

But he has hardware worth money still be likely could get 40-50 dollars each.  So 160-200 dollars after selling and can be used to buy more bitcoins.  You have been trolling speculation hard with your sig.  But it will not help.

Fact is simple having hardware is nice as you own something.  Heck if he gets 50 each that's almost half a S7 at this point.   So lot's of options for him having these units.

That is true. With the hardware ASIC miner, in the winter, you can heat your house with that. With cloud mining, you cannot.

I personally don't run a miner at a loss for heat.   At a point I did run mines that were profitable in certain rooms for free heat, but after going a little bigger and getting a mining area with power all ran to it I ended up just mining them in it this winter.  And did not go for free heat messing around with putting them in separate rooms.

I think the bigger thing is the part about being able to sell it at the end.  Even S3's 40-50 bucks buy BTC with sells... you get a little extra.  In day's where ROI is harder I take all the extra profit I can squeeze out of miners, which includes selling previous gen gear.
1512  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How long u use your mininghardware on: April 02, 2016, 09:17:29 AM
Was wondering how long u guys mine with your hardware.

I'd guess the really proffessional, big miners buy as soon as its released and sell them further after few weeks, and get themself the new stuff then.

The big problem is you can get a little profit doing this and flipping on ebay.   BUT if you get a bad buyer that uses it for a few weeks or month even then wins a paypal dispute you lose big money.  People on this board are smart enough to buy direct.... so hard to sell for a markup on most miners.

I sold a R1 a month later person went to paypal said it was not a reliable wireless  router.... yes the R1 is a cheap router all buyers should know this going in.  Yes it is not great to use as router if your wanting one to connect to and get internet on multiple devices.  But almost a month later I got the R1 back and had to give him his money back.   People exploit paypal on miner... it is sad but some do it.

I like buying and keeping for a while.   I normally keep till it's a generation old and my ROI math makes me think I can sell and make more then mining.  And in some cases it is a good amount more selling.    So I keep my gear quite a while in most cases.
1513  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Apr 1 to Apr 15? picks are closed.... prize = 0.1 btc on: April 02, 2016, 09:11:26 AM
Price is up a little around 419, from day low of around 414.   So nothing huge but a good thing to see.  I really want 425 this change... but  I wanted it last and did not happen and stay.

Changes have been pretty nice to use lately.   I keep being afraid it's going to change... but happily wrong on that part.
1514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Have access to 12 PCs.. Which currency is best to mine in my case? (CPU MINING) on: April 01, 2016, 01:48:46 PM
Hey guys Smiley

I have access to 12 PCs (Without any dedicated graphics cards) that are running 24 hours/day. (Electricity is dirt cheap in my currently, besides, these PCs are running 24 hours every day anyways doing literally nothing)

Which currency is the BEST to mine in my case? I am eager to go for currencies with CPU Mining only as I understand I have a better chance with avoiding currencies that have lots of GPU/ASCI miners already.

Also, can anybody give a rough estimate of how much profit I would expect to make on a monthly basis from these 12 PCs?

(CPUs are ranging between i3-530 and i3-560)

Would appreciate any help as I am eager to get this started.

You are a few years to late honestly CPU mining just is not worth it.   You can expect to use more in electricity in most cases then you make by mining.   So lot of trouble and pain's for zero pay.

Even if you make a small profit over electricity you will not pay off CPU's.

Great April Fool's day prank I liked it very much. But Is there only this one prank this year? Or do you guys noticed something else besides upped down uᴉoɔʇᴉq word?

I figured it out right away. theymos has been dipping in too much of fermented WS cheese.

I was not right away. This was first one I saw as I am on it so much.  I did not realize it was April Fools.   I really did think forum or I was compromised.   It was a good one.... but scary.

Best joke / scare I have had in quite a long time.
1516  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S7 antminer(4.7 ths) vs genesis mining(5ths) on: April 01, 2016, 01:32:28 PM
If you buy from cloud mining first, you work for the cloud mining provider first to pay for their S7. If you buy S7 yourself, you work for yourself.

Not sure this is making sense.  You can go to hashnest and get it there.... which is from bitmain.   You are not really working for yourself in my view as long as you pool mine, which is pretty much a must.

I would describe it more as with buying S7 you own the hardware.   I like this better then cloud mining... as I enjoy the hardware.  But that is big thing is owning and running gear, not that you "work for yourself".
1517  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Mar 18 to Mar 31? picks are closed.... prize = 0.1 btc on: April 01, 2016, 01:28:24 PM
Congratz to winner as always.   I feel like we all win when we get low numbers like this.   I'm starting to not be quire as scared of bitmain if change was just a new 1 fan model.... might not be the big changes I was thinking might happen.
1518  Other / Meta / Re: How to protect an account from being hacked? on: April 01, 2016, 03:20:44 AM
I have seen several cases where someone has their bitcointalk.org account hacked and has to prove that they were the original owner.  What is the best thing I can do to protect my account so that if it is hacked, I can prove it is mine?

The biggest thing is don't use online wallets get one on your computer or phone then password protect it.  Even better get a cold storage device, put them on and keep it disconnected from the internet.

Best thing is go to meta and stake an address you can sign with.  With this if your account is ever hacked you can retrieve it via signing a message with staked address.

I would make a paper wallet that is cold address with the staked address.  Treat it like you would with any other paper wallet.

Holy crap was this good.  It even effects some URL's.   I was headed over to meta to see if forum or I had been compromised.... got my heart to beat fast lol.

Well done to all who came up with this.
1520  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have 3 Million USD to invest into Crypto Currency - How should I do it? on: April 01, 2016, 03:10:19 AM
This thread is the thread that never ends, I keep seeing it pop up. OP has not logged on since:
Last Active:    June 16, 2015, 01:00:23 AM

Chances of many reading this with 3 million going twords crypto investment... slim.  Just not a ton of whales buy in everyday.  I think we can let this thread go after seeing that.  I did not realize above, but checked more into created date after this thread keeps poping up over multiple days.

Also beyond OP last active.  It is odd a new account bumped it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=600368.msg14265441#msg14265441 .   He got lucky and was at top of page.... so no one got to see he bumped massive old thread if did not click back.
