1501  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Supercycle? on: May 01, 2023, 06:28:37 PM
Is it possible to have a bull run for the next couple of years? I mean more people and companies start using bitcoin often and knowing there's a limited supply of it, the demand for the crypto will go up eventually. Do you think it's possible considering inflation and our global economy today? I know its a very volatile asset but what do you think?
I am not sure I understand what your trying to say in its entire but, I've got one or two thoughts on my mind after reading through all that you've stated thus far in OP and would like some clarification if am wrong but my take is as follows;

1. A continuous pump for Bitcoin:
This can't be and for worth is worth, it wouldn't be very healthy for the currency. By all means Bitcoin can't be compared with alts but if you take a look at what happens with alts after a long period of pump, people tak3 profit and its dumps never to rise again. This would be the bane of a continuous pump as we would have people coming in solely gor the profit, to take profit agte4 a while and leave. This would leave some other users disappointing and would reflect badly on bitcoin.

2. Bitcoin use case for businesses and organisations;
At the time it would extremely difficult to have a firm own majority of its asset to bitcoin. This is because, there atr still a vague range of disbelief in the currency and as its not backed up by the government. Also, the issue of volatility like you've rightly stated, it's a problem that would be sorted with time.

4. Be original and unique.
Do not repeat what has already been said. if necessary, add a link to the source in your post.
No need to put ( if ). It's always necessary to add the link of the source in the posts or else it will be called plagiarism as we all know. By the way this is what I like the most being original and unique in terms of posting. When posting it is important to check your post before posting if there's any mistyped words or mistakes, why? Users might find it hard to understand your point or topic you made.
I think it’s not that necessary to add link…as many don’t even care of it but still get merit points..
So it was necessary to have  “if” in the article the guy wrote
I was perplexed to have seen the subject of the thread but, when I looked as to how long ago the thread was created and even the last comment on the thread before yours @musa_scorpion which dates back to 2018, i wonder why you had to whip those dead horse of over 5years just to point out a well established fact though.
You didn't break any rules though but, I felt you must have been warned to be posting in a thread that haven't been posted in for a long time and to spell out the word "if" must have been pretty important to beat this dead horse. Okay!
1503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What would the Bitcointalk Forum be like without Signature Campaigns? on: April 30, 2023, 10:45:00 PM
Well, the forum would be a little less from a ghost town. I have no doubt in my mind that we would have some very active users here still. There are those of us whom have built our lives around here for it's resourcefulness and that is something that can't be taken away from the forum.

Beside signature campaigns, there are other ways to incentives work on the forum an that is from offering needed services. We would have people sourcing out the technical aspects to the forum like working as developers and something of note, Hhampuz and his series of art contest has turned some people to artists on the forum. Users would find a way to stay but, there would be less bullshit from shitposters and spammers for real.

Jurgen Klopp has shown the fans that Anfield is a home ground for conquered victories. Liverpool triumphs once more at Anfield. It was not a simple task for the Reds because the visitors displayed an enormous amount of pressure and effort in the second half. Tottenham Hotspur made an astonishing second-half comeback. More interesting play from both teams, with Richarlison coming off the bench and scoring the equalizer for the Spurs, taking his shirt off and celebrating. Diogo Jota ruled out his goal in front of the spectators with a fantastic kick into the area, bringing the score to 4-3. It was incredible to see two wonderful goals in the additional six minutes of injury time.
It was a case one for Liverpool I can tell you that. I mean, in the early 20minutes of the first half, two seemed unstoppable and like almost every attack was going to produce a goal but, Tottenham wasn't going to allow that. After the 3rd goal, they seemed to have been kicked in the balls and they jumped at the chance to fake the game to Liverpool as it was becoming embarrassing with fans leaving the stadium even before the first half was over. Bad enough, those fans left too early to have seen the challenge Tottenham posed after that.

What an amazing time it was for Richarlison to come from the bench and score his first EPL goal for Tottenham. Unfortunately, his joys was short lived as Jota ended up being at the end of a back pass that gave Liverpool there victory. Klopp never saw this victory coming an his emotions got him yellow carded. Another victory for them.
1505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 30, 2023, 04:51:44 PM
At first it looked as though Tottenham was in for a goal outpouring from Liverpool. It was just defensive error after errors in the first half and that left Liverpool ginding loopholes after loopholes and the back of the net as well. Each attack for Liverpool almost produced certain goals but, the tides seems much changed now.
Tottenham has started getting something from the game and they have.managed to have more attacks than Liverpool in 10minutes before halftime and generally in the second half. We've seen Son hit the ball twice and without thinking much, his likely going to have a goal before the game ends. Pedro with his long rang shots, he ought to try more networking into the box as, that's likely going to produce nothing from the way I see it now.
1506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 30, 2023, 03:49:47 PM
It's very sad to see that if kevin was not playing against fulham. The performance from manchester city looks bad at this moment. Haaland was making the first goal through penalty. it seems like that if pep will not be regularly using KDB as starting lineup. Manchester city faces difficulty to build an attack. It seems like that if pep was trying to keep keving for the important match. pep didn't wanna see its club will be playing an important match without de bruyne. Fulham was giving a tough game against city on its stadium.
I think we should appreciate Fulham for giving us a game to watch, making the champions have to work for there spot on the league table.  They've come to be take the league from Arsenal with the efforts of teams like Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton who all shared points with Arsenal and left them to catch they breath with Manchester City gaining in heavily on them.
Fulham was out here to give Arsenal that chance too but, ot wasn't always going to be easy with Manchester City. They tried @Fulham but these guys @Manchester City understands there play and was going to go all down clamp down on the chance to be winners once more.

1508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i reverse a Bitcoin transaction? on: April 28, 2023, 10:14:13 PM
You can use RBF and send it to other address in order to cancel your transaction.  Meaning you need to double spent your Bitcoin where you send another transaction with higher fee to replace the current transaction. Read this article to know about double spending.
Yeah, I have done this a few times and attend some great success with it although, I was sending the transaction to an exchange but, cancellation wasn't the intent but, that's what did result. Having to send either same amount with a higher fee and broadcast on the network would cancel an unprocessed transaction running on the same wallet.

So yeah, it's possible before confirmation and not after. Once there is as much as one confirmation on the transaction, its all gone. Not being able to reach out to your recipient for a reverse simply confirms it.

Institutional Investors Have Little Faith
Grayscale, a company that manages bitcoin assets, has noticed a decrease in its Bitcoin volumes. What this says is that institutional investors are not optimistic. The largest institutional investor in Bitcoin, Microstrategy, has increased its holdings. According to their most recent SEC filing, the firm has spent $6 million for Bitcoin at a price of approximately $19,851 per token. Together with its affiliates, Microstrategy now governs over 130,000 BTC.
 Logged
Looking at the numbers Microstrategy did put in, in acquiring more bitcoins, it would be worth noting that with bitcoin at $29.3k, that's about $10k on profit per Bitcoin which is something worth the time put in but still, you won't see them taking profit because, the idea still remains to accumulate and top up with every drop plus, the ATH is still some distance away and comes that, one would appreciate the idea behind taking some investment when the low was right for you.
1510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It Won't Be Long. on: April 28, 2023, 09:07:25 PM
Have you bought btc to HODL and wonder when it will rise to a point where your life will be changed financially?
Isn't this putting way more expectation on bitcoin?
"For it to change your life financially!"

If coins could talk I think it would scream "please...go easy on me right now".

Bitcoin has got some good enough potentials but, your ideas and the means by which you choose to invest is what would be life changing. Have it that you could as well lost in your bid to attain financial success but that shouldn't discourage you from trying. Put in efforts and get them results but, bitcoin doesn't change your life, your ideas will.
1511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What went wrong with bitcoin! Reply on: April 28, 2023, 09:01:12 PM

Sometimes our desires to help pushes us to do the wrong things. It might have come with some good intentions and though I might not know the manner through which, this merchant was convinced to invest in bitcoin, it seems he had to dump his source of likelihood, his line of business to invest in crypto.

That's in itself wrong. Though bitcoin has been known to offer some securities, the likelihood that they would come soonest is always  food go thought and the uncertainties in the system means, you don't have to put it as your all. You still need to have something going aside from cryptos that could as well pull in some good funds.

One thing I think is a take amd should have been very well exposed to the investor is that;.
You invest with only your sparr cash. That way, the user would know he doesn't have to dump his yam and oil business to pick a crypto investment. Food item business line is still an ideal type of business.
1512  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best laptops for crypto on: April 28, 2023, 08:50:51 PM
Please recommend a good laptop for crypto..
I want to use it for exchanges and holding crypto (wallets)..
Even a desktop computer would be able to serve in that capacity although, it depends largely on the loads of work you subject the device to. Any device would work as exchanges are basically online and don't need any much space to work except for browsers that can access them sites. Wallets just need a few kilobytes to be installed and run successfully, although how safe it is depends largely on what and what you install or choose to click on your device.
Keep a device very functional would add you in working a exchange and so, you might as well want to ensure a proper well being of your device by updating antivirus programs, have well enough ram & rom, avoid over hitting of your device, close tabs that aren't in use and general stuff like that.
1513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 27, 2023, 07:59:57 PM
Tottenham looks scared in this game. I dint know if it's about the early goal but, they just aren't coming out to play and that means, they are likely not to get anything out of this match. There attempts to counter attack is always met with no one running in front to take positions aside from H. Son and H. Kane but everytime, the Manchester United team have got at least 3-4 players on the defence backline to ensure they don't get the freedom to express themselves as they hope to.
Richarlison have got some chances but, isn't able to come up with any dangerous finish.
And just now, M. Rashford has advanced the Manchester United lead with yet another goal, bringing the game to a Tottenham 0:2 Manchester United with just a minute to halftime.
1514  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why not pull down those billboards or sign posts? on: April 27, 2023, 07:52:32 PM
I can vividly remember the present or the incumbent Vice President of Naija too am on di National Television in the year 2021 say, dem no ban the use of crypto. But I can't really remember how im take put am, but I saw him said something like dat. And since dem no ban am, anyone who is interested to use am e dey free.
For we naija shah, you know say, one set or arm of government or even a government official with some good enough authority fit override anything way the 001 or even court talk for the country. Just like that, you go see say, different units go act based on jow e take favour them. Na how we carry dey see people account getting banned. Your bank manager hear crypto matter for your mouth, your account becomes subject to investigation and things like that.

Anyway, since the bear market come, government no too carry crypto matter gor head again and matter still remain say, them no bam crypto, them just no dey in support as, that na to commot some kind control for there hand and them get there own product way be fiat. Them no go fit abandon fiat for crypto or even endorse crypto since them know say, people way go divert go plenty and the fact say, the volatile nature in a way fit affect the people way no fit wait when e drop negatively.
1515  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The Latest Ponzi Scheme in Town, pls Avoid it. on: April 27, 2023, 07:41:02 PM

I would have left some detail in the quote but, I wouldn't want to make a duplicate copy of what I hope to correct and that you get off the forum.
I could see clearly from your screenshot image upload of your chat, your supposed friend whom you've successfully convinced from participating in one of them pyramidal scheme making ways in your locality.
I am sure it slipped you that your quote response to her text as shown in that message not only carry her messages but her name as well and in its complete form. You could as well do her a favour and blur that.

I tend to understand why these guys are often convinced most times even when they happen to be scared from previous experiences. They bank on the ideas of people having to make withdrawals in current times and that makes it legit. They seem to forget that the hook that gets the fish is usually covered by a bate. Why some or even you (them) might successfully make withdrawals at first trier, the bate is always there to hook you (them) in the end.
1516  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Madness of many! on: April 27, 2023, 07:29:47 PM
No matter how bad politics might be, it would continue to exist in some form within our societies. It doesn't necessarily have to be a party thing or within a democratic system of governance, a one man with a selfish ambition is enough to bring about some self centred ideas in a public office.
Still, we have to look towards the bright side in all that and that someday, the greater good can come out of even the most selfish idea.
1517  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What really makes pastors children rebel? on: April 27, 2023, 12:21:23 PM
The society we live in work by certain rules and principles. People are subject to certain expectations based on what profession or family we find ourselves. It practically erases the fact that, we have a life of our own to live.
You see a reggae star and its almost natural that yiu expect him or her to have dreadlocks of hairstyle and smoke weed, a pop star, you would be expecting a tattoo covered fellow, dressed in big clothes materials and more, a religious leader and you expect him to never watch porn, have taste for alcohol, smokes and more. Same is transfered to them kids but, these kids have got a life of there own and your profession shouldn't subject them from not living there true.
1518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What a physical Bitcoin could look like? on: April 26, 2023, 11:25:37 PM
yes it requires ensuring you got them from a trusted source and someone didnt just print a public facing label of a randomly funded address with no private key underneath.. and yes you got to ensure no one just printed hundreds of notes/labels that have the same keys..
This tells all the reasons why bitcoin just has to remain digital. Its always been digital either ways as, to gain full value of it, you still have to use it in transacting over the blockchain and get some confirmations on it, leaving no room for double spending or any form of counterfeiting which isn't possible in bitcoin.
Bitcoin obviously has got its about over the Web with fiat to operate the realms of the physical and so, we might just have to leave it in its best fit, digital.

Quote
but all in all it has been done and people have successfully traded in the physical world within a small group of trusted face to face exchanges
This spells how determined some bodies and users are determined yo attain certain fantasies.

2011 and now is a very long time, 12years in between and a lot ha changed on the forum between then and now. Some of them is newbies not having to wear avatars. Perhaps you could try gor accounts created after the merit system was updated.

These accounts from wu back 2011 could as well have been ranked up as legendary members or some of the top ranks around should they have been a little more active but, they evidently weren't and as such, they remain newbies still.

The Puss in Boots avatar though, kiddy kiddy cat cat, mew!
1520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 26, 2023, 08:29:12 PM
Chelsea is just surprising, I don't believe they will get worst like this, Chelsea haven't been able to win any of their last seven matches played in both premier league and champions league, Chelsea performance is getting worst on a daily basis.
There is absolutely nothing good to say of Chelsea's performance, its been 5 games under Frank Lampard's management now and a 5th Los as well. Worst part of it is, it doesn't matter if they are playing at home or away. You play against Chelsea at the moment and your almost sure of 5 points.
Brentford has put in place a very coordinated and compact defence, while waiting on Chelsea to be on the offensive sp they can make maximum use of the chances they create on a counter. They've advanced there lead by 2 goals now from a very good shot in by B. Mbeumo and Chelsea isn't looking an aggressive at all. An immerse disappointment for every Chelsea fan at the time, giving Brentford this much comfort from an away side.
