You guys he's scared out of his mind, and you're telling him to buy more, lol.

What are we supposed to do? We make money when he buys more. I don't give a shit if he loses money as long as I profit. LOL

What do you not understand about fossils that are older than 6000 years  Cheesy

Why do you believe God wrote the Bible?
Because someone told you so?

Well, we're telling you otherwise  Cheesy

Here's a reasonable answer to that. God made it to appear older to us even tho is not to test our faith in him.

The furthest we can go back with any certainty is 4,500 years. The rest is guesswork. You will see this when you delve into what the basic archaeologists say. Everything that is not archaeology - like astronomy, meteors, geology - is based in theory. It is not known to be fact. the best we have is the Bible record.

God directed the writing of the Bible because, it could not come into being without god directing it. Check into the history of how the Bible came into being, and you will see that the whole operation of its being written could not have happened according to the laws of probability.

Do the research first, before you make up your mind decisively. It is important to your salvation.

Cool

So counting of tree rings to 9700+ does not count?

No because back in the olden days trees grew five rings a year. LOL

Christians just make shit up as they go along.

I became silent within and meditated on the subject and pressing question of the tree rings and then I had a revelation that came to me from the Lord of the Tree Rings. Wanna know what He whispered in my ear? (He said it's OK I can share the secret - it'll be out anyways soon enough) - ONLY ONE RING PER YEAR   He had divinely ordained this to be an Infallible Universal Constant. There you have it.  Cheesy

We can stop worrying now, the lord of the rings has spoken. ROFL

I think it is in the Bible: Leviticus 20:13

"If a man puts one ring on his trunk and lies with a male as with a woman once per year, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them."

It is of course up to interpretation...Some Christian and Muslim scholars think "it really means that trees add one ring per year, and it is ok to cut trees during full moon (as aligned with the menstrual cycle of your female slaves)"

But when in doubt, you have to consult with BADecker, he is an in-house guru on Bible interpretations and has broad Bronze Age knowledge in general.

That's because BADecker is from the Bronze Age. I have a theory about that.

Doctor Who went back to the Bronze Age chasing Daleks and used the chameleon circuit in the Tardis to make it look like a preteen girl. BADecker walked by the Tardis. While he was attempting to rape the girl (which was actually the Tardis) to give her an immaculate conception he fell in the Tardis and was transported to our time by accident.

Not really understanding anything about modern society, BADecker was placed in a mental institution after he was caught helping a couple of 60 year old gray haired catholic priests rape some teenaged boys. The hospital he resides in has a computer therapy program that allows him to access this forum where he continues to rape by buggering the logic and reasoning out of the brains of forum members.

Edit: Dr Who fans will know what I'm talking about.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's probably just a minor correction. Or it possibly could be people like me that decided to sell a quantity above $1,000 and keep selling for every jump of $100. There are many people that have been waiting since 2013 to sell and get their money back. They could be selling too. If it does continue to drop then just do what I did and take the $100k you just made selling, buy back your 100btc at a lower price, fly to Vegas and party for two weeks on the profit.  Wink

I was hacked. A couple of years ago I lost 1 month of LTC mining because I was stupid and used a easy password on the pool site. The same password that someone get off me by phising here with "free coin! just sign up".. It was my fault but I have learned.

As one famous person said that everything that does not kill us makes us stronger. Thus, all that is happening, it's just experience.

Nah, that's just something losers say to make themselves feel better.
1508  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN BREAKS ALL-TIME HIGH IN CHINA, $17 BILLION MARKET CAP on: January 04, 2017, 04:23:41 PM
It's shocking to me that there are still people that don't know the current rally is coming from China.

I guess no one can do their own research anymore. http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/

My eyes were bleeding with all the Indians writing on the forum that the current rally comes from India. Now the Chinese are on the ball again.

Now I am left to wonder how much of a crash we are going to have when India and China spectacularly implode from the unsustainable pump?

Oh, yeah. When the hammer falls from the Chinese government it's gonna be painful.

As soon Beijing figures out Bitcoin is the hole in the dike letting yuan flood out of the country they will have to take action. That will scare the Chinese markets and cause a dump that will make your head spin watching it happen. If only we could predict the day that will happen we could get famously wealthy and still buy back every coin we sell.

1510  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: announcement: the international "when-bitcoin-reaches 1000,- $ party" on: January 04, 2017, 06:37:08 AM
They say the 2nd time is always better than the first.

Are we talking about sex or bitcoins? LOL

I'm almost afraid to get excited this time though. Last time we really didn't know what was going on. As far as I was concerned it would go up forever. This time we can be fairly sure it's happening because of the Chinese governments capital controls and their desire to keep yuan from fleeing the country. What happens when the Chinese govt realizes bitcoin is being used to usurp the govt imposed $50k outflow limit? Kind of puts a damper on the whole party spirit.

how would they really stop it though? genie out of the bottle, and all that. the great chinese firewall is farm from impenetrable after all.

I live in a suburb of Beijing (San Francisco lol). I know more Chinese people than any other group and they tend to live in fear of the government (even here which is odd). I have a feeling that any government sanction would start a mass sell off that would spiral out of control. I don't think the government would try to block it directly but enough of the people would voluntarily comply to start a run.

that's fine more for the rest of us... the beauty of this product is that it flows like water, and is needed like water...

mass sell off... we aint even at mass scale yet... how do you get a mass sell off with a few thousand Chinese people... guys in Venezuela and EU and Russia and now India happy to take it from them if they get scared so easily.

fyi - there are parts of the 415 which are not "Beijing" you might want to wander around a bit and get some exposure to other cultures.

Nah, I don't want to hang out with the pretentious white people in 415. They are nothing more than overpaid pieces of crap that way overrate their value to society. Besides, I like the Richmond District all the way to Japantown, even the area with Chinese consulate on Geary.

If the "few thousand" Chinese that have been buying Bitcoin heavily for the last six months should decide to sell out, hold on to your hat because it's gonna hurt.

So your experts are the fat guy that's about to be extradited in 2017 to the USA to serve a federal prison sentence for racketeering, money laundering and copyright infringement, a guy who's only reason to write anything is for self promotion and the guy that thinks the democratization of money is "economically silly".

I don't think I'll be trusting your experts.

1515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very little Press Coverage of Bitcoin's Rally this time on: January 03, 2017, 04:56:38 PM
Have you tried switching channels?

Personally, I don't have a TV altogether, and you may want to throw away yours. Whenever I see a TV broadcast somewhere, I feel loathe by the amount of advertising being thrown on me as well as the way the information is being fed. It is intended to hit mainly on emotions, not caring much about factual content and its authenticity (as well as impartial coverage), and you can't efficiently and coherently process what is actually being told to you. I understand that otherwise it would be boring, and ordinary people would simply turn off their TVs, but if I want emotions, I'd rather watch a movie (with no ads either)

It's all channels. I hate tv too but the wife is addicted to syfy network and the news channels so it's on all the time in my house. I can't even get away from it in the kitchen because the crazy woman bought a refrigerator with a tv in the door and mounted one behind the mirror in the master bathroom. Most people soak in the tub to relax but she watches fucking tv. The cable installer started laughing when I told him I need a line run to the kitchen and bathroom.

What's the purpose of a wife which watches TV all the time?

She has her talents and makes great sammiches too.  Wink

You dummy. You know essentially nothing. And the little bit you DO know, like how to post in a forum, you use to spread your stupidity.

Are we having fun yet?

Cool

Are you talking about yourself?  Not sure.  You were the one who said that Earth is 6000 years old, then said that Göbekli Tepe is a proof
that there were many ancient civilizations more advanced than ours.

Problem for you is that Göbekli Tepe site is 10,000 years old.

There so many things that go against your Bible that is just not funny.  It is sad that someone could believe ANY of it.

The problem is that you stopped thinking.  You are just defending you religious dogma, no matter how ridiculous the dogma is.

Just stop arguing with him. We need to keep Christians around anyway for when the lions get hungry.

1518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your biggest bitcoin regrets? on: January 03, 2017, 04:24:03 PM
I forgot about this thread. What a blast from the past.

I have a new regret. My wife just reminded me about the cheap boots I got her as a part of a party costume when I told her btc was over $1,000 again.

I used to talk this guy named Jeremy West on the forum, way back when, and he convinced me to use a service he started called Spendbitcoins. They sold Amazon gift cards for btc. I tried his service and bought a little gift card to buy my wife some cheap high top costume boots to wear at a party we were going to attend. She only wore them once. At today's exchange rate those flimsy cheap vinyl boots cost $7,800. FmyLife

I guess the lesson is to replace bitcoins if you spend them? 😀  At least that isn't as bad as the $20 million pizzas.

Sure wish I had replaced them but at the time I was mining on 30 computers with more than 60 hd 5970s and sitting on more than 2k btc. In my mind I was replacing them every day in the garage.

This is what Bitcoin mining used to look like

I guess I would count as a long term holder. I have about 20 btc that I collected from a faucet run by Gavin Andresen that handed out whole bitcoins and I guarantee I will still have some at the 10 year mark.
