They will contribute most of it to an off-line wallet for savings and the rest will go on their android client and to a prepaid visa card for spending. The idea being that they can make a purchase and get cash back when they need pocket change. I want the cheapest method to get bernankies onto the prepaid. How much are you going to charge me and what kind of fees can i expect from this visa card each month to do this? If I have to pay something like $5 to load a card each month, that's a significant percentage of their allowance at this time. Just trying to figure out my best options. Well all gift card options cost $0.25 per card no matter the value. visa cards are about $5 to purchase/load them I'll update the description to reflect this new information I just found out after reading more into their terms of service. I'm mostly trying to look into payroll options for customers where they can load $$$ from dwolla or paxem or something like that can and then I can load your visa card instantly. but those require private information to be signed up with and sent to visa in order to be activated so I'm not sure what the Bitcoin community thinks about this which is why i haven't done it still looking into my options aswell.... |

All international shipping is around $100 (But in BTC value) I will send back the change this is to provide a seemless purchase. Other wise you'd have to wait until you get a shipping quote. and even then shipping quotes are outdated by the time I get to the post office with everyone all packed and ready to go.
I want to buy something worth $30 from you and you want me to pay $100 shipping? Another site: bitcoinworldmarket.com can ship for $35 internationally, still expensive but more reasonable. Too bad they only have 4GB microSD and nothing bigger. Please take this as constructive criticism. No problem but just so I'm clear you get most of your shipping cost back; I even scan and send you the receipt. If its an issue just write in the customer comments that you would like and exact quote on shipping price and I'll define it manually there is no autonomous way of me setting international shipping - its just a fixed rate. The problem with international shipping is nothing is in stock so I'm at will of my suppliers shipping methods which none of them ship outside of the USA for "security" issues or some rubbish like that. So I'm forced to ship the product to my business address and then re-ship to you. Basically I have no clue how much its "actually" going to cost until you purchase the product and I take it to the post office. I'm not opposed to doing international shipping but I've had problems with it in the past and it's not profitable at this time to make it convenient for international shippers; this is the best I can offer you. If you really want international shipping get some friends to purchase things whom are outside of the USA and it will be profitable for the business to fully support international shipping(Have more items in stock, find alternatives to lowering shipping costs, etc, etc). |

We're way ahead of you, johnj.  Ad placement isn't my forte'. Anyone have any sway in radio advertising? It would be interesting to find out what sort of costs we are looking at in the top 25 DMAs. Another thought would be to cut a commercial in Spanish. I live in Dallas and there is a huge Mexican immigrant population here and other cities in border states like Houston, San Diego, Los Angeles and Phoenix. The spanish radio stations reach a very large market. Many of this audience is looking for better and more safe ways to send money back to relatives in Mexico. I like the idea of cutting the commercial into Spanish, I've been to LA myself and other areas you've listed and those could be a huge conversation starters for the Mexican community. Have you thought about cotacting Mark at www.freetalklive.com ? They might have some kind of radio commercial production deal. Here is why I ask, because to have a professional commercial made, it would set u back about $1000 ish. But maybe Free talk live can produce a commercial for you (and you own the rights to the commerical) if you buy commercial spots on their program. A.K.A every once of you budget goes to on air play time. But in the short term I wanted to buy a 16GB microSDHC but your international shipping was 35BTC but US shipping was 2BTC.

Im not sure if it was my catch phrase(or robber) idea or possibly someone elses statement or idea. Lets stay on track here. In the end it matters on attracting new gamers, geeks and most importantly business owners to learn about bitcoins
I could care less if zero people joined Bitcoin forum, became a miner, accepted Bitcoins at their bussiness or started trading. My goal is mostly to just get the word Bitcoin in there head with truthful information.

If you're going to ask for $1500, post a line item budget. It sounds like this project has no direction or leadership, and every idea put out there is met with the same level of positive enthusiasm. Which is probably an excellent way to go if your plan is to run with the money.
I already stated I'm funding the project, I just threw out the number I was given I want the community deeply involved with what direction I go so I figured maybe I could think out side the box better with everyone involved and It worked! someone mentioned radio ads being more cost effective so far that sounds like a good direction. As of right now there is no direction, and a lot of enthusiasm; so I can understand why you sense those attributes in relationship to the project. nothing is set in stone, its just looking at the best advertising options and get some ideas out in the open. Any Ideas I don't use could obviously be used for inspiration by the next guy that wants to get ideas for future commercials.... |
