Since mine has the same probs as yours, what solution did Bitmain offer to you to rectify the faulty control board.

Nothing yet , waiting to hear back
Makes ya wonder why they constantly ship f'n lemons, also makes me wonder what I'll end up with out of the 4 units I ordered.
my miner drops down to 410-415GH. I would rather keep it running and pay a deposit so he would ship a new controller out and refund me after he receives the bad one than shut the miner down for a week or two.

The first rack are S1's, the second rack are S3's.
As of last night, the 12 S1's are hashing @ 2,265 GH/s, and the 12 S3's are Hashing @ 5,228 HG/s for a total of 7,494 GH/s.
After that measurement, I overclocked the S3's to 237.5MHz and am monitoring them to see which ones are capable of this increase.
This morning it seems I have 2 "problem children" that don't like the increased clock rate.
But am hashing around 7.9 TH/s.

what do you pay per KW?

I am still looking to see if anybody else here has seen this when they try to log into their S3?

/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute function dispatcher target for entry '/'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/sauth.lua:87: Session data invalid!
stack traceback:
   [C]: in function 'assert'
   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: in function 'dispatch'
   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:195: in function </usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:194>

I had logged  on the miner a few times with no problem and this is what comes up when I try and log on now. The miner is still mining and if I log into it thru Putty I can still get into the frequency, so it seems the password is still working  but i'm afraid of rebooting or using the reset button until I know I will not brick the miner. Bitmain has PM me that he turned it over to his engineer and I hope to hear something soon but was wondering if anybody else has seen this problem.

Tried /etc/init.d/uhttpd restart
It might give the process a kick to get it running again... The error you're seeing is to do with the web interface on the S3 screwing up when trying to handle the authentication, according to one bug report, when one process is writing to the session data at the same time another is reading it out. Does the error happen every single time, or just every so often?
Thanks for the reply I have sent you a PM so not to clog up this thread.

I am having problems logging on to my S3. I was logged in last night and this morning it asked me to reenter my password to log in. When I did this is what I see:

/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute function dispatcher target for entry '/'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/sauth.lua:87: Session data invalid!

   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:195: in function </usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:194>

It is still hashing on my pool ( @ 410-420 GH/s on 218.75 freq) and I have tried to log in a few more times with always the same results. Not sure if it's safe to power down or to use the reset button? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm positive this is where you want to post this question

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=671189.3740

The LuCi and openwrt are not by con or the cgminer crew. It is possible one of the nice folks on here will know the answer though. Bitmain and openwrt would have actually done the programming for that part.

EDIT: I can't wait for a binary that uses a new version of cgminer. I really should look into if its possible to add a config file and have everything work as I like more then 3 backups.
Thank you. I have posted it there as well. Also PM Bitmain and he has now gotten back with me and said he has forward my problem to a engineer and I will hear something back.

This is a new one:

Airplane problems? Just think this could be a sequel to Tom Hanks movie Cast Away. The UPS plane goes down and the lone survivor on the island does not have "Wilson" but has "Mr. Bitmain" instead. And once rescued the pilot hand delivers the miner.... ( after 100 difficulty raises) to the waiting addressee which still beats the Monarch being delivered.

I just tried to log onto my S3 and get the log in page but once I enter the password and try to log in this is all I get:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute function dispatcher target for entry '/'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/sauth.lua:87: Session data invalid!

It's still mining and hate to reboot it in case it would not restart unless someone can tell me what this means. Thanks

But then again rebooting or using the reset button may be my only option?
1529  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 02, 2014, 11:03:38 AM
i cannoct connect the miner also with direct cable miner-pc

the pc address is 192.168.0.xxx

i changed it according to dogie's guide to 192.168.1.1  and connect the miner

i changed the protocol into dhcp client ands save and apply

after no more connection, also repeating the same steps

the problem is that i didn't set the pools data

I downloaded the app Fling to my smart phone. Once you do dhcp the router gives it a random IP so I would go down the list on my phone looking for it which either starts with Shenzhen or Paragon and this will show you the IP. I later learned to just stay with Static and change the last two digits of 99 to an unused IP number or numbers which again the Fling will show what is already being used.
1530  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 01, 2014, 11:20:47 PM
whats that wifi feature in the S3 ? can I use that instead of the LAN cable ? Or do I need something else to get it working?
some report that as long as you have it close to your router it works without a antenna.

1532  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Corsair RM1000 powering 2 Antminers S3 on: August 01, 2014, 09:31:03 PM
I have that same corsair. The other thing is once you put the paperclip in the PSU fan will not run and it's hard to tell it's powered up. The fan will not kick on until the load gets high enough and really gets pretty warm before that happens. I have a small case fan running to keep it cooler.

Looking for some coupons to order 2 more miners.
Will pay a fair price. PM me with what you need.
1534  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 25, 2014, 11:07:38 PM
I don't see it that way. I see it as part of the risk if you offer paid utilities to someone. The rental agreement should include provisions to restrict or prohibit mining if the "landlord" doesn't want to pay for mining (or grow lamps, for that matter) as part of the electric.
Most criminals don't see it that way.  Justifying their crimes with clever imagination doesn't reduce the burden they dump upon their neighbors one tiny bit.  We all end up paying for your bullshit.  Taking electricity from educational institutions makes it 10 worse.
Most dorm rooms could only handle a miner or two at the most. I don't see it any different than a TV plugged in or a xbox or  refrigerator or stereo or lava lamp or any other type of entertainment item. I don't think it's ever going to become a data center of equipment. Nobody is taking anything, as people pay for the dorm and my son paid about $11000 a year for room and board at Notre Dame. His dorm room was built in 1928 shared it with 3 others and they had a total of 3 outlets for all 3 to share. It had no a/c and even one miner would have been hard to run but would have used no more electric than the tv, computers, refrigerator.

Nice to see Batch 4 sell out so quickly Smiley Picked up another 6 in Batch 5 Smiley

Wow, cant believe the batch 5 price is only 0.01 lower than batch 4.  An S3 should make ~0.09 during that time.  Each batch is a worse deal...
as long as the batches keep selling this fast the price will not drop much.

Hello All,

I purchased a Butterfly Labs 30GH from Ebay.  I did not go into this blind.  They told me that it was DOA, figured for 25 dollars what the heck.  What I found was a burn spot on the PCB board right below the asic and right above R40 and R42.  Looks like the placement was C11?.  First does anyone know what this is on the board?  Can it be fixed?  I sent an e-mail to Butterfly Labs asking if they would RMA it since it was the board.  We will see what they have to say.  Otherwise just getting ideas on what I could do.

Thanks for any help.  Let me know if you would like a picture of the board. For additional info.

John
Did you email directly or did you use the form on the website?  http://butterflylabs.com/technical-support/ is the link, make sure you mention that it is a 3rd party RMA.
BFL had RMA 2 times for me back when I had singles and they were all bought second hand. It was about a 1 week or less turn around. They shipped  a new miner. The problem you have now is they no longer sell them I think and not sure what kind of inventory they have on hand as I quit following them months ago. Good luck.

I just think it would have been easier for them to understand than trying to explain Bitcoin or using the word "
mining" but good luck.

Hey guys,

I'm looking at this power supply on newegg to snag during the bitcoin promo.  The plan is to have it to power 3 Antminer S3's, standard clocking.  I'm wondering if anyone has used this power supply, and if you think it can handle the job?  I fail to see why its a whopping 30-100$ cheaper than all the other PSU's of that caliber I am finding.  Thoughts?

Link?
