761  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: February 20, 2015, 06:38:02 PM
just caught up on this. one thing that ban technically does is let people set the different payout periods, from 1 to 24 hours. maybe a solution could be to add in 3 day, 7 day, or set an amount? I wouldn't mind waiting longer for my payouts, and happy to ride out the things during slower periods of luck, if it would mean that some other pool members who want it more urgently want to go ahead in the queue.

And re p2pool, i'm going to be doing a mid-term review with a load of pools side by side with roughly the same hashrate, and would love to work this out, with publically available wallets so people can see what the earnings are side by side.

Blocktail's given me the mining pool data going back from day 1, 3rd January 2009, and I can map out the lifetimes of each of the pools out there including BAN.

Jan 2015 stats are at http://bitcoinsinireland.com/bitcoin-mining-rankings-january-2015/ with December at http://bitcoinsinireland.com/bitcoin-mining-rankings-december-2014/ and November at http://bitcoinsinireland.com/bitcoin-mining-rankings-november-2014-2/

For January just gone, BitAffNet got 55, compared to 44 from P2Pool

"maybe a solution could be to add in 3 day, 7 day"

jammers this is what s0br stated at the start that he didn't want the pool to be a bank. At first he paid everyone every hour and we pleaded with him to extend the time so we could stop the fly poop payments that most received.  I think he he felt if the pool did not hold miners coins then it would be hard for the wallet, if compromised, to lose a lot.

holy sh..tuff!! BAN just found two blocks in the last two hours, that makes 5 total in the past two days! woop! Shocked

Yes it looks like the pool has had nice luck for the last week or so. That should help the timely payment issue.

Ya i keep thinking i should switch to a larger PPS pool. However, BAN keeps on coming up with good block finding for a small pool....especially recently. So I continue sticking with BAN. There are days when it even pays out better than NiceHash...and the hash rate is better on BAN.

The other larger PPS pool charges a 4% fee, so as long as BAN pays on time this pool is much better. I just moved a couple miners back here.

5:35:34 all over 10PH.  Conspiracy crumbles a little bit.  Still holding on.

And now the pool has been below 10Ph for a good while and no blocks found.

please create a ticket at http://bitmain.zendesk.com  (top right)

or email a support request to support @ bitmain . zendesk . com

If support staffs are online, you may request to chat, too.

https://v2.zopim.com/widget/livechat.html?key=2ZaJsbRPVUUFCqOE8MmgXgbFFdNYxOBP

warranty is 90 days from purchase date. (Bitmaintech.com or Amazon seller "Bitmain")  If you purchased it from else where, please email the proof of purchase in the ticket.

you can try updating the firmware to the most recent January one but before you do that, please power off your S3+ and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and power it back on.  If the xx goes away.  Often time, a few X's on the ASIC status comes from teh firmware bugs.  But your hashing speed is low, too, so the problems could be on the hashing PCB.

What is the warranty on the S3+. I have one showing:

oooooooo oooooooo
---ooooo oooooooo

And only getting speeds of about 400.

Thanks for the info, but I'm past 90 days on it.

I have a batch 2 that I was getting a couple x's and have to run the Frequency at 218.75 which stopped the x's showing up. I get  420Gh out of it with low error rate.

Anyone who noticed the restart earlier today, I've just done another restart to add in some new lock detection code ckolivas wrote today to deal with the earlier problem that required the restart.

P.S. OK enough cow bells Tongue Make it a link please.

Edit: oh and whoever IcyPPS is, could you fix your connection details, your IP will be banned shortly if you don't.

Thats interesting as there is a miner on BAN with that ID

#27      IcyPPS  looks like he is hashing with 9.5Ths

EDIT: I was thinking he had more hash than that so it could be he is spreading some around.

Using my conspiracy calculator I calculate this block will end at approx 14 hours 45 minutes.

Got that wrong, wishful thinking.

But the pool did drop below 10Ph/s

I can't sign onto his website.

Your link works for me and I can sign in also.

Its got to be something on your end?

is the pool down?  I can not view the website. My in house is all dead rolled over  to the next pool.  My nice hash rentals show I am hashing at your pool.

working here for me Phil

Another long one. All this fighting has angered our masters and they have activated again already. Calm must be restored.
what are you talking about?

So normal CGminer has submit stale on by default correct?
I know CK provided a fix for the S3, what do we do about the S5? (Assuming we need corrective action)
Is it safe to say that Spondoolies did this the correct way, that is submit stale is on by default?
S5 binary also available here (antminer's fork binaries still screw this up):
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/antminer/

Spondoolies do the right thing here.

@ck:  Am I right in saying that this has to be applied after every reboot - or is there a way to make it permanent:

Code:
cd /tmp
wget http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/antminer/s5/4.9.0-150105/cgminer
chmod +x cgminer
mv /usr/bin/cgminer /usr/bin/cgminer.bak
cp cgminer /usr/bin
/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh restart

This seems like a problem if you rent hash?
775  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: February 19, 2015, 10:29:04 AM
Seeing I have not yet been able to confirm that the roving 1-2Ph/s is generated from 13 rigs, I took another delve into the stats. Rather than analyse the data without considering the two factors that I have been led to believe are important, i.e hash power and difficulty (I discarded luck as un-important), here's what I have based on difficulty.
Ok, but how much time was spent at each hash rate tier within those difficulty levels?
Quote
Diff: 44455415962 (total: 42 blocks)
1. 16 - Less than 9.5 Ph/s
2. 20 - Between 9.5 Ph/s AND 10 Ph/s
4. 7 - Above 10 Ph/s
If 50% of the hashes are submitted while the pool is over 10PH/s but only 1/6 of the blocks are found in that period, something might be wrong. If the pool only spent 1/6th of the time at that level, then the numbers your seeing are what you'd expect.
At this point, I do not care what you think or know, even whether you might have a point. You've adequately demonstrated to me (thus far today), that your opinion is worth disregarding in its entirity.
If you can confirm either way whether the roving hash-rate is from 13 rigs, that would be your time spent well.

What MrTeal stated was the first thing that came to my mind as well. Your data is flawed to show anything without it.

I am having an orgasm with another block!

So Good News & Bad News....

Good News - P2Pool finally broke through the drought and found a block. We got paid!!!

Bad News - The block that was found and valid/paid from bitcoind was an orphaned/dead P2Pool share so it won't show on your Nodes.  So kids, let this be a reminder to always have your miners set to submit all otherwise we could be missing more Bitcoin valid shares that are dead on the pseudoshare chain.

\
Fantastic.. Back on the game.....

Just a quick reality check...

Not much has changed.  The pool's hash rate is below 1 PH/s for the first time in a long time.  According to my node, expected time to block is 2.7 days.  That means ridiculous variance.

M

What I have noticed on the node I am mining on is that some miners are still there just not throwing as much hash at the pool. So maybe with them getting paid something they will be bring more back. Right now Share difficulty is   :3634201.15 so a guy could pick up a lot of shares now just in case the hash rate takes a jump in the next few days.  (unless my thinking is wrong?)

has there been any pay outs from the recently mature blocks Huh

This is truly a pool that once you set your miners here you don't have anything to worry about. ( other than pool luck)

Now that Chupacabras, literarily meaning Goat's sucker is back, it is understandable why p2pool does not find a single block.
Get the f**ck out Chupacabras and suck your ass.
I am out until Goat's sucker sucks his ass!
Get out Chupacabras f***cker! Go suck your ass! Chupafucker!

This is uncalled for. Creating an account purely to insult people - reported to moderators & ignored, I suggest everyone else do the same.

Let's not degenerate this thread & p2pool's reputation to that of "other" pool threads.

Wow someone came off their meds! IYFTech I agree with you!
