Thanks proudthing
Very unlikely. In case you haven't noticed, I've established a pretty consistent track record of being right. I had not heard that you have a "pretty consistent" track record for being right, proudhon...... Am I being disrespectful? There is no doubt The Lama is a very consistent indicator.

they seem fine to me... I was walking through a beach area with a bunch of young folks partying down - and sometimes I was overhearing some of their nonsense conversations, and it seems like they do and talk about a lot of similar dumb shit as I used to do and talk about when younger...
Of course, the technology seems to change some of the matters - but still it is easy enough to see that some of the folks are more awkward than others and some of the chicks are more scantily dressed than others... not that I was looking very closely.. oh my, is she even old enough to have that beer in her hands? same shit, no? vaping instead of smoking, but still some smoking going on too...
I still go to tons of concerts and the kids sit there like lumps and don't even get up, its a disgrace. classical music, maybe? otherwise, it used to be a high energy affair...haven't been in maybe 5-7 years, though. Classic rock/heavy metal.

As I would see it, monero has during all its trade history been a rangebound coin. Almost certain Rpitila has every one of the numbers to do this in the event that he hasn't done as such as of now. The assets of the previous gathering are monitored, while the assets of the last option bunch are scattered because of misfortunes by blackmail, burglary, and misrepresentation.
I am not sure why you are mentioning Pietilä. He died few years ago. Do you have a source for this? Not questioning what you're saying but would be interested in knowing what happened.
Long time since I've been here. Had a few drinks tonight and got to thinking. Does anyone remember the handle of the guy who used to post here many years ago - he was a little crazy but clearly very clever. His health was bad and I had a feeling he lived in Asia. He knew a lot about Monero. Had plans for creating his own currency but they never worked out. Used to argue with ArticMine a lot. His handle was something to do with War/Revolution/Big Brother. I can't remember. Any ideas? Between him and rpietila it was a wild time. Shelby Moore, aka Anonymint?

You're right about the nostalgia aspect though. We seemed to have more fun than the sourpusses I see in the bars now. A lot of younger people seem to take themselves much too seriously.
I've noticed this at concerts, kids these days have no clue how to party.

Also in the news.. Its St. Patrick's day. https://www.almanac.com/content/st-patricks-daySt. Patrick’s Day is officially observed on March 17 each year, though celebrations may not be limited to this date. The significance of March 17 is that it’s said to be the date of St. Patrick’s death in the late 5th century (circa A.D. 493). Saint Patrick is the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland. He is credited with successfully spreading Christianity throughout Ireland—hence the Christian celebration of his life and name. The symbol of St. Patrick is a three-leaf shamrock, not a four-leaf clover. However, long before the shamrock became associated with St. Patrick’s Day, the four-leaf clover was regarded by ancient Celts as a charm against evil spirits. We wear a shamrock on St. Patrick’s Day because, legend says, St. Patrick used its three leaves to explain the Holy Trinity in his teachings. (The Trinity is the Father, the Son, and the Spirit as three divine persons who are one divine being [God].) Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona duit! Well shit, got wrecked yesterday and too old to drink successive days. Drank till 3am so I did get my sacrifice in in the prescribed timeframe.

Hi guys ... had been absent for awhile. My father passed away and I have to go visit the country. The little coin I have left has been spent. If anyone wants to help, you can always send me a message. The war is just bad. I have everyone vax'd but still need a bunch of paperwork just in case.
Condolences.

Some good news for the EU residents:
That news has been good for 2 days, you're a little late But even if they decided completely differently I personally wouldn't care because Bitcoin doesn't need a license to exist. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg59524187#msg59524187Hat's off to the Ukrainian soldiers who are blowing off the Russian army tanks and fighting off with full spirit to protect their home country without any fear and they are worse nightmare for the the enemy. The motivation and support they are getting from their leader is awesome and boosting their morale and they have shown what they are capable of.
I experienced this in the war for the independence of my country 30+ years ago when we faced an enemy that was incomparably stronger. Less than 2000 poorly armed people managed to hold the city of Vukovar for 87 days in front of a manpower of at least 36 000 people, hundreds of tanks, cannons, air force and everything that the modern army had at that time. Although the city eventually fell into enemy hands, the losses the enemy suffered were a turning point in the war. If the Ukrainians last long enough in defense, it is only a matter of time before they launch a counterattack - and most EU countries have realized that not only Ukraine is defending itself there, but that it is defending all countries in the east and north of the EU. I never knew much about this. Morale on the battlefield was poor. JNA commanders resorted to firing on their own positions to motivate their men to fight. When the commander of a JNA unit at Vukovar demanded to know who was willing to fight and who wanted to go home, the unit split in two. One conscript, unable to decide which side to take, shot himself on the spot.[86] A JNA officer who served at Vukovar later described how his men refused to obey orders on several occasions, "abandoning combat vehicles, discarding weapons, gathering on some flat ground, sitting and singing Give Peace a Chance by John Lennon." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Vukovar

An Assessment of Bitcoin as a Strategic Opportunity for the United StatesBitcoin is here to stay. It’s time national security decision-makers understood the implications A world where Bitcoin fails is a world where U.S. retrenchment and decline is more likely. A world where Bitcoin succeeds is a world where our role in the global system, while changed, may long endure Conclusion It is difficult for legacy institutions to acknowledge that the structures that underpin their power need reform. It is natural for incumbents to view the systems they spent their careers building as necessary and good; to view any challenge as a threat, and innovation as a concern. This is understandable at a human level. At the level of national security and geopolitical strategy, however, it is counterproductive. Preconception bias and cognitive inertia are limiting in an era of rapid change. Those who fail to adapt, fail. Our adversaries are positioning themselves for, and trying to bring about, a radically different international order. Individuals around the world (including tens of millions of our own citizens) are opting into an emerging monetary order, with Bitcoin as its new foundation. This order is one in which America can maintain and extend its inherent sources of national power, while holding resurgent and destructive illiberal forces at bay. Bitcoin, if it succeeds at home and abroad, can help the U.S. and it’s liberal allies achieve our enduring objective to “keep the world safe for democracy.” As President Biden himself has proclaimed, “This moment is an inflection point. We are in the midst of a fundamental debate about the future direction of our world. To prevail, we must demonstrate that democracies can still deliver for our people.” If we expect to deliver on these promises – to present and future generations – we must think differently. In this moment of crisis, the time for such thinking is now.

Sad. Much as we like screen captures (which are OK), we like links a lot more. I'd like to know exactly how they "seized" the bitcoin. Trudeau set up a successful 51% attack? Not likely. Perhaps replies explain this, perhaps not. Without a link, we will not know. My guess is the retards used an exchange address. I was hoping for an answer from the OP himself, possibly after he'd done some research on twitter ;-) Unfortunately, said individual was busy concocting multiple price models for us. But yes, I agree that's the most likely explanation. I can imagine the treasurer trucker searching "crypto" while dreaming of magical internet money donations or something like that, and falling into the hands of the first exchange to be listed by google. Although 14.6 bitcoin, which was worth around $630,000 then, were distributed to the truckers by then, the police came to NobodyCaribou’s home on Feb. 28 and took 0.28 bitcoin (worth about $15,000), stored in a wallet NobodyCaribou co-controlled with Tamara Lich and Chris Barber, members of a trucker-affiliated nonprofit who were previously arrested. According to court documents, NobodyCaribou claimed he was about to transfer the funds to an escrow agent when police compelled him to surrender his wallet under a search warrant.
The seizure of a censorship-resistant digital asset might sound odd at first, but all it’s referring to is a string of 12 words known as a seed phrase. If not held on a centralized crypto exchange like Coinbase, Bitcoin is self-custodial by design, which means one can only access their bitcoin if they type those 12 words in an exact order. According to NobodyCaribou, police compelled him to reveal his seed phrase. ... “I wanted to give the bitcoin to truckers. A court order was issued for the bitcoin that had not yet been distributed, so regardless of what I ‘want,’ I’m not going to break the law and get arrested,” NobodyCaribou told Motherboard. “The basis for the claim on those funds is to be determined by courts. Until then, they are safely held in escrow.”
https://www.vice.com/en/article/jgmnpd/the-freedom-convoy-bitcoin-donations-have-been-frozen-and-seizedLooks like someone acting as an escrow got a visit from your friendly police Guys obviously a moron just by looking at the fees they paid on the wallets so no surprise he didn't take any precautions and rolled over.

Use Samurai guys. Turns out, blockchain analytics unit Chainalysis could de-anonymize Wasabi’s mixer with open source techniques.
In fact, revelations from journalist Laura Shin’s new book The Cryptopians, which tracks Ethereum’s early years, showed that Wasabi failed to follow the aptly named protocol ZeroLink.
ZeroLink requires “zero linking” of mixed and unmixed Bitcoin. Wasabi used a ZeroLink alternative called “peelchain.” The wallet was released in 2017.
As the name suggests, large transactions pushed through Wasabi are progressively “peeled” across successive transactions. https://protos.com/bitcoin-mixing-coinjoin-wasabi-chainalysis-samourai-privacy-wallet/
