1521  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: scalping Bitcoin vs. other assets on: May 20, 2023, 05:35:32 PM
Bitcoin over other assets? Difference is with the rate of increase. One is having a higher one but with higher risk while the other is the counterpart, most likely. This will now be depending on investor's preference. As we all know, higher risk means higher profit. But bottomline would be if you can endure the negative outcome from biting high risk. If you are into less risk, but lower returns, then stock and other assets such as in the field of real estate. It is for me, generates a more assured profit but for a longer period of time of waiting for return. Some investors are looking of instant profit which pushes them to go beyond their loss tolerance or the amount they can afford losing.
1522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Budget For Halving on: May 20, 2023, 04:54:25 PM
No matter how high hopes are, never invest an amount you can afford losing. Keep in mind that you are in this industry wherein there's no certainty with price actions and movements. Anything could happen. Indeed,  what happened with previous halving in Bitcoin resulted to huge price increase but also consider what happened with previous ETH fork. Both are huge tokens in this industry which makes sense having expectations of direct correlation with the events and outcomes.

Much better to manage the risk and the amount you are betting as long as you don't have 100% assurance of the outcome. And there's just no such thing in this industry wherein prices are naturally volatile.
1523  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it about morality or productivity in choosing to work from Home on: May 20, 2023, 03:46:25 PM
Depends I guess on the employee's comfortability. Just like in my country wherein work from home set up have just emerged since Quaratine period due to covid. However, it was adopted by some companies even if heightened restrictions are already lifted simply because they believe that as long as their employees are still productive even at home, that won't be a problem. But in terms of morality and productivity, ofcourse onsite set up would seem to be more fitting because that is where we are used of. Some are not being productive working at home because of the 'vibe' they are getting unlike in offices. Point here is comfortability and a company's satisfaction with their employee's.
1524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency a financial pyramid on: May 20, 2023, 10:55:53 AM
First of all, how do you define financial pyramid? 'coz it has various definition such as the context of fraudalent scheme and the other one is a strategy to efficiently make use of your money as you get older. Ofcourse the market price of Bitcoin will depend on the demand since there's nothing to regulate its value unlike other assets. Lower supply means higher demand but that depends if the asset would really be creating a demand to its consumers or users. Not all things which has low supply will automatically have a demand.

And if this is about investment pyramid, then Bitcoin would more likely fall to high risk speculative assets simply because of its high rate of market price volatility and its usage across majority of countries.

To make it simple, Bitcoin is simply a currency and an investment at one and that is because of its characteristics with regards to its changing market price.
1525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose altcoins you buy? on: May 19, 2023, 11:08:06 PM
Market volume, token supply, and popularity. These are the factors I am checking when looking for a coin I could make profit of. These factors won't guarantee profit but atleast it would lessen the risk of losing big time unlike with investing to some random coins wherein prices would change in every minute. Likewise with projects; whether to buy on pre-sale or not, depends on the platform they are making. If it has potential then it would be worthy of investing.

Newly launched projects on the market are very risky so I always wait about 1 year or two before buying. However I always look at the usefulness of the coins, the team, and very often in which exchange they are listed.
A good strategy I guess but if you're too conscious of big win, then this won't probably work. Profit would start the moment a coin is introduce to the public but determining whether its price would continuously increse over years, would be hard.
1526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: lovesnoopy this new memecoin will surpass pepecoin on: May 19, 2023, 10:39:27 PM
According to a post by https://thechaup.blogspot.com/2023/05/projeto-lovesnoopy-lista-na-bolsa-mexc.html, LOVESCOOBY COIN can beat PEPE COIN, what do you think?
If it is general posibility then for sure it has a chance to do so. Problem is on the actual; there are many projects being released in this industry but only a few had a pump the moment it is released in this market.  $Pepe and Floki indeed showed good price increase but keep in mind that these are meme tokens. There are no other usage or utility of it which makes it risk of an investment. Its price could skyrocket for an hr and fall in a minute. Actually this is the first time hearing about this meme token but one thing I know is that, when you are late already never enter the market on a coin which is too volatile 'coz you'd possible be other investor's liquidation.
1527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I convinced my stubborn neighbour working for a central bank to adopt Bitcoi on: May 19, 2023, 09:59:17 PM
What's the point of doing so?  I get it, we all want to encourage other people to also engage in this industry but the idea alone that some people are quitting, should already be a warning to not convince others to do so. Let them find their own curiosity. Also, I have experienced encouraging a friend of mine before but unfortunately, I was the one blame for his loss and there are even worse scenarios from other people who also tried doing so. Point here? It is okay to share the knowledge but always think of the consequences. Let's say you managed to get him involved in this industry. And happened a market price crash which caused huge loss on his assets. Ofcourse it would be easy to just say 'hold' but how would he feel? Not all people can tolerate risks.
1528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wrong Predictions as price keep failing! on: May 19, 2023, 04:58:29 PM
That's just how this technology or industry works. The market prices are full of uncertainties. Indeed there's technical analysis, DCA, and price actions but the market value of cryptos simply move dependent with the demand which is a variable being affected by many factors. This is also the reason why speculation of market prices will never be 100% accurate; there will be lapses 'coz there's no such thing as absolute prediction in this industry. The reason why pprices re falling at this point? We may cll it part of price correction but we may also see it as nature of price volatility. Thing here is that, we won't be able to be certain of how will the market price move on the next day or cycle.
1529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is "dying". on: May 19, 2023, 02:56:03 PM
And I think we are losing the purity of Bitcoin right now.
So what if it's not pure anymore? Do you want to tell people to stop using it?

They want to tax it, they want everyone KYCd, they ban mixers and they create trouble for companies or people who use bitcoin.
There is always an alternative to doing that. Look at the people's answers on page 1.
Purity he referred I guess is the extend to how Bitcoin is being used which is more of an investment or asset and not as an alternative mode of payment as its sole purpose in the first place. But we cannot help it I guess, there are still issues existing concerning Bitcoin and this industry in general's adoption or usage. It is not wrong as qell to make use of something out of its charactersistic and in this case is market price volatility.

KYC and other means are because of centralized exchanges. It is more of an option than requirement. They simply require such procedure not only for taxation but to follow what's in line with their license and to promote more sexured transaction. Again, this is just an option, there are DEX in which an investor could make use of if he's not into such procedures.
1530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best and worse slots on: May 19, 2023, 02:34:22 PM
I never liked Slots, Idk because it's only luck and I feel it's rigged. More like it got more house advantages and the chances for you to make more profit/money are way less as compared to something like Roullete. I would love to know a beginner slot to start gambling again and understand the concept of it. I recently played some slot games on the rollbit website, It was meh. Not my cup of tea.
I think roulette and slots have the same odds since both of these games are considered on the category of pure-luck games including dice games, therefore, I percieve these games having the same chances or tendency of winning. In terms of slot mechanics, things are simple. You just need to be aware of the combinations possible in order to get a win. It is more of a spin and go kind of game.

On the ither hand, what determines whether a casino is a good slot provider? Almost every platform are the same and only varies with the UI, bonuses and promotions and not to mention the quality of service that platform is giving to the players. So if your site won't pass this characteristics, then it would more likely fall on the category of bad slot providers.

[li]Casino di Venezia - Venice, Italy[/li][/list]
Quote
Opened in 1638, it is considered the oldest casino in the world. People still gamble here today. The casino changed its management several times and it is currently owned by the Casino di Venezia Gioco S.p.A. Even though the stately gaming house is almost 400 years old, it is one of the most technically modern casinos in the world. Over 5,000 m² of floor space await players with a large selection of slot machines and table games.

If I am an ardent casino goer I'll definitely want to visit this place and have a bet here and pride myself as one of the casino players that played in the oldest casino and have my picture taken in front of the oldest casino and will even take a deck card for souvenir coming from the oldest casino in the world, they have to keep up modernizing it and upgrading the facilities and they have to still retain the atmosphere of being the oldest casino in the world.
If you are really into gambling then for sure you'd be interested personally making a visit in such places. But for casual players, they won't be that eager to invest time and to be entertained on such places. However if curiousity would be supported, things indeed has meaning. Visiting such places would help us realize how huge was the advancement took place in gambling industry, from the platforms to the games being offered. In terms of games, slots are of the same idea but have different combinations to come up with a win, likewise with graphical improvements especially with online platforms. On platforms, online gambling sites are emerging which gives further options to gamblers.
1532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Aviator crash games - did anyone hear about it? on: May 19, 2023, 12:40:42 PM
Never heard of this as well. But based on what I have read from other users' reply, there's a split to both being good and not. One thing I believe from being in this industry, the best way to know whether a gambling site is legitimate or not is to play on it on the actual as well as asking for ither people's insights. Personally, I don't engage to mainstream gambling sutes or those which are being advertised on social media platforms. One reason is traffic on transactions; many players would engage to that platform if it would be advertised in such way. Another is pile of problems if the team won't be able to handle the number of their players. I'd be more okay with not-so-popular but credible ones in this industry.
1533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Third graders and Bitcoin on: May 18, 2023, 11:53:08 PM
It is perfectly acceptable for third graders to comprehend bitcoin technology. Knowledge gained in school is not a reliable indicator of intelligence or brilliance. There are some people who work extremely hard in school to rank at the top of their class, but they have low IQ scores overall. Anyone can succeed in life and become wealthy despite being in the third grade. The best students are not necessarily the wealthiest students. Because bitcoin technology is not graded in a classroom, anyone can be interested in learning about it and investing. It is best to test your children's IQ at a young age.
What for? To learn taking the risk at an early age? I didagree. There's this thing called stages of development. Allow children to enjoy their youth and if you re a parent who is eager to share the idea of Bitcoin technology to your child, wait for the right time where they would be interested of earning profit to buy the things that they want. Keep in mind that this technology has risks involved. You don't want to break their assumptions if ever they would encounter uncertainties early. Wait for them to have that curiosity and have the interest to ask. Learning this technology is okay but do you have the assurance that things would be limited in such way? Ofcourse they would explore it which is why they need to be ready first.
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Assess a Memecoin and Not Get Scammed ;) on: May 18, 2023, 05:05:40 PM
A memecoin would be only a scam if a rugpull happens. But if this is coming from what we saw with $Pepe and other memecoins such as SHIB and DOGE, I don't see it as scam but rather a usual market pattern in this industry. The market prices suddenly fell simoly because huge investors decided to take profit already and those who entered midway of its pump turned out to be the squeezed in the middle. This should be a lesson to not be too confident on every market price pumps. Always check the volume and price action. Take note that memecoins have no utility which could sustain high market price. It solely depends on demand and once it breaks, expect for a sudden crash on its value.
1535  Economy / Economics / Re: Helpful mineral resources on: May 18, 2023, 03:02:13 PM
Africans are blessed with a lot of minerals that if this resources are gainfully used for benefit of their citizens, this God given resources would add colours to Africans. Countries in Africans like Nigeria, Serial Leone, Ghana, kenya, south Africa and lots more you will a lot of natural resources either misused or abandon by government and even if they see need to use them, is either abused or mismanaged. Petrol in Nigeria till today is been refined outside country and still import back to Nigeria on a high price, lots of minerals like coals, salt, kerosene, gas, petroleum and so on but no appropriate handling of this resources, so even the citizens can not benefit from it. If Africa can make use of their resources well, they will be more independent, free from indebtedness and indirect colonial system of other countries.
Problem is lack of knowledge. Most areas in Africa were deprived of education. Minerals will just be a potential but won't be too beneficial if people cannot utilize it in such way their economy would make use of it on global trade of goods. Another indeed is resources such as tools and equipments for them to make use of those minerals. Usually, on third world countries, foreign countries are ones who make use or take advantage of the circumstance, they become the capitalists in that country. Same thing happens in my country wherein most of the big companies are owned by foreign people. Even with agricultural movements, locals are being used as workforce.
1536  Economy / Speculation / Re: Know your time to HOLD on: May 18, 2023, 02:38:09 PM
It's a desperate move and if you harbor that ' get rich quick ' mindset, you'd quickly lose interest when instead of profit, you encounter loss due to volatility. You're relatively new in the forum, so instead of jumping in without thinking, why not take out time to research and better study the market or possibly DCA while observing the market trends.
Bitcoin investment is something that is risky as there is zero regulation and no collateral Incase things go south hence the need to not be in a hurry.
I think it's better to just buy now and hold instead of waiting till 1st July since this has been marked to be a good year for Bitcoin.
Every investment has its own risk. Also, I'm not quite aware of July 1st to be an indicator of the market unlike with the last quarter of the year. However those expectations does not mean certainty. The market price will go sideways without any particular hint.

Whether to hold or not, depends on the investor; short term or long term. Basically, short term investors are the ones who swings in every price action. Is it best to just hold? If you can endure seeing how price changes from time to time, then you're good with long term holding. Price is somewhat consistent upward if you'd use yearly timefrme.
1537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: A long term investor here, thinking about adding RoLLBit Token on: May 17, 2023, 11:56:46 PM
Gambling projects are one of the best investments if you are just into project engagement. There are many gambling prjects and platforms which are good and existing in long term. Honestly, I never experienced playing in Rollbit but as I have read feedbacks, it is inedeed a good one. Much better if you would engage into it first in order to know it at first hand.

But if it is with tokens alone as an investment, I doubt it would be that much profitable. Most of the gambling (projects/platforms) token are either having a lower market price after the release, or stable. Reason to this, is the utility. A gambling token is basically being used in the platform which makes sense to say that the demand won't be that high. Not all investors are gamblers in the first place unlike with other token investment in this industry.
1538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Things that still make feel awkward with some online casinos on: May 17, 2023, 11:43:16 PM

Not just only Bitcoin withdrawal, even coins with very low transaction fee, isn't this robbery?
More of policy than robbery.
Unfortunately, that's just how platforms work; they have different withdrawal fees. Factors I guess why in some platforms withdrawal fees are high is price of the crypto as the mode of payment, being registered, and high quality of service. Whenever the market value of Bitcoin is increasing, transactional fees are also getting higher. On the other hand, a platform have paid for its registration or whether it is regulated or taxated, they have to put a raise on the withdrawal fee to cope up with this in return. Lastly, if the platform has high quality of service, top of the line UI and other features we don't often see among majority of gambling sites 'coz that is somewhat their investment; putting a lot of effort to the platform and to make up with those effort is high internal fees.
1539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Confusion about sweepstakes and gambling on: May 17, 2023, 04:36:02 PM
1. Is Sweepstakes illegal in the US?

Sweepstakes is legal in US as long as it follows the guidelines on conducting it. It’s still often use by company if they want to advertise certain product to the public. Sweepstakes is just a raffle which participants is voluntary participating without fiat involved. They often using coins which you can use to exchange on certain reward. But there’s some organizer of sweepstakes that offers coins that can be exchange via fiat fiat to dodge the gambling tax.

2. Is Sweepstakes gambling or not?

The original sweepstakes is not a gambling because it shouldn’t be involved real money. But on the current state which using loopholes on the law. Sweepstakes is sometimes gambling. But in reality, it should be just a free raffle while the prize is sponsored.
Sweepstakes jive with the idea of gambling because tickets are being sold to people u like before wherein it is in form of lottery by means of some requirements to be eligible of a ticket. What makes these two confusing is simply the involvement of money. Once an individual will be required to use an amount in order to avail the tendency of winning a bigger amount, without assurance, that is already gambling. Sweepstakes in general is allowed to many countries because of its lack of money involvement in order for people to be able to join. But things would be different in terms of the procedures or the process of how will it be executed.
1540  Economy / Gambling / Re: What all are your considerations before picking your go to sportsbook? on: May 17, 2023, 02:51:00 PM
Would probably be feedbacks from their players. Usual problem in gambling sites not only in sportsbook, is delay on payments or transactions 'coz that would be the only interaction between players and the platform. Also, to how problems are being addressed by the platform whether they are putting time to resolve it as soon as possible or they would be silent about it and ignorant. There are many gambling sites existing up until this date. You may be attracted by bonuses and other promos but the best thing which would make a player stay is for sure the quality of service they would be getting from a platform. It is just how sportsbook works unlike with general gambling platforms.
