What exactly is happening with the devfee connection here? It looks like it fails to connect to xmr.suprnova.cc so it squanders away 20 seconds before trying cyptonight.usa.nicehash.com:

Guys, I have another question here. MB comes with only 2 USB ports. I have kb, mouse and usb stick. Weird, but how you deal with 3 usb devices with 2 ports? Some kind of replicator?

There is a blue pin header for 2 more USB ports on the mobo near the "southeast" corner of the CPU. Get something like the following to instantly add 2 more ports:

That VGA port is one of my few complaints about this board once you get it up and running.  Save yourself some heartache and buy one of these:

http://amzn.to/2FU1vdf

Works fine and lets you use a modern monitor with it.  Wink

I managed to find a used LCD monitor with a VGA port at a computer recycler for $20. I rather suspect I got taken to the cleaners on that one, but I think my desperation must have been evident...  Grin

I actually prefer to use integrated graphics here, rather than one of the GPUs, I just wish the Aliexpress listing hadn't specifically said "don't use the onboard video port!" I mean, it's one thing to not include any instructions or manual at all, it's quite another to purposefully tell the customer the exact opposite of what needs to be done.

At any rate, I got Windoze loaded and am now installing the massive Nvidia driver package. This thing should be mining Equihash or Neoscrypt shortly.

Welp, dragonmike was right - just needed to plug in a crusty old VGA monitor to the onboard port and the screen was sitting at the install windows prompt.

However, the next peculiarity is that I thought this had UEFI BIOS so I already partitioned and formatted an HDD with GPT only to find out it is old-style BIOS and Windows 10 refuses to install to that HDD. Ah well, that, at least, is easy enough to rectify.

That's an argument to not use your pool!?! It's best to spread the hashrate around, not concentrate it in one pool!

Yes, I know that my hashrate is embarrassingly very low (I am using a laptop). I just wanted to check if my wallet works properly because I am new in crypto world Smiley.

Currently, my hashrate is a bit better Smiley When I mine 4 Dero, and I get it into my walllet then I will stop mining.

Ah, a laptop. The low hashrate makes sense as laptop CPUs, even the "fast" ones, are optimized for extreme power savings by default.

Refresh your wallet balance - I just sent you 1 DERO so you don't have to wait 20+ days to find out if your wallet works or not.

Note that the latest version of XMR-STAK also mines with the CPU by default; you can disable with the --noCPU switch on the command line.

1548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Troubleshooting Onda mb. D1800btc. Help. on: January 19, 2018, 12:36:23 PM
Yeah that's the expected behaviour. The longer beep tells you your CMOS has been cleared and your bios reset to default.
The absence of signal is very probably linked to the fact it's sending said signal through the IGFX to the VGA (D-SUB?) socket. I have the original version of the D1800 which doesn't have IGFX so I didn't have that problem. You might have to source an adaptor plug of some sort...

Thanks for the confirmation... I went rooting around in my computer parts junk pile and found a VGA cable and a DVI to VGA adapter; I was all excited there for a minute until I realized that was DVI out...

EDIT - my D1800 (6 GPU) has the v2.00 sticker on it as well.

My Onda 1800 just arrived from China. Just a motherboard in a bag, no box, no documentation, nothing else with it at all. Is that how they are normally shipped?

That's how mine came... very cavalier, the Chinese.

Me and the OP might be experiencing the same problem - using 1.5V DDR3 memory instead of 1.35V DDR3L. In my case, I ordered what was described as DDR3/DDR3L memory from Amazon, as 1.35V is compatible with both, but they shipped 1.5V modules; a replacement module came in today and I'll be trying it out momentarily.

EDIT - well, "correct" DDR3L memory didn't solve the problem entirely, though it does seem that the board makes it farther along the boot process. I get one beep and then even a bit of HDD LED activity but no video from either of the 2 cards. I haven't tried the onboard VGA port for the simple reason I don't have a monitor with a VGA input; haven't in about 15+ years, actually... I guess the next step is to scrounge up a VGA input LCD monitor because it seems like that is the only issue.

I also tried hitting the "reset CMOS" button (just to the left of the USB/Ethernet ports) and that just resulted in a longer beep after power cycled.

Looks like whoever it was took their toys and ran home...Network hashrate is down to ~2.3 MH/s and difficulty, while still elevated, is at least below 300M. I'm (as of now) making a little over 6 DERO per day between my 2 CPUs!  Tongue
That's gonna end up having been really good value mining probably from almost no hash power.  Got to love coins that actually give a solid chance to CPU miners...

My 2 CPUs combined do around 700 H/s, which is just under what my single RX 570 can do by itself (though the RX 570 requires 50% more power for 20-25 more H/s, I should note). I do have a bunch of Nvidia cards for mining as well, but they don't seem to do nearly as well at Cryptonight as AMD. I will revisit that as new mining programs become available, though (this was with xmr-stak).

1551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1060 discussion thread on: January 18, 2018, 11:19:06 PM

If you can get those kind of numbers out of your 1060's then by all means mine ethash with them; that's fairly close to an RX 570 with modded BIOS loaded.

Thanks for your answer. Maybe I check what I get on equihash too in case to know.

Definitely - Nvidia cards have an advantage on Equihash (Zcash, Zclassic, Zencash, Hush, etc.) and Lyra2rev2 (aka Lyra2v2, Vertcoin and Monacoin are the only prominent examples I can think of) so it makes sense to use them on those algos.

Bah, I'm just cranky because I'm down to making just a little over 2 DERO a day, when only this morning it was closer to 10...

Whoever paid for all that hashing power must be super cranky. They've found so few blocks

I've been mining around three days (http://pool.dero.live/) and I still don't see any dero on my wallet. On the pool I see this detail:
...
 Hash Rate: 12.84 H/sec

Uh, definitely not trying to sound elitist here, but that is a really low hashrate; even my 10+ year old AMD Phenom II 955 can do around 40-50 H/s. What kind of CPU and mining software are you using? (Please don't say you are using a laptop... mining is murder on laptops!).

1555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF 0.3.4b dev fee question on: January 18, 2018, 09:00:41 PM
Hi all.
Specifically join for this same question.
I think developer should be entitled to some fee however...

I noticed that for the period of 4 hours 45 out of 500 accepted shares goes to a "devfee".
that is 9% and IMHO this is way too much.

So, question is how do I set it to reasonable 1-2%?

That's not how you figure out the devfee percentage except for the highly unlikely case where all of your shares were mined at the exact same difficulty setting as all of the dev's; generally, the devfee shares are mined at the lowest possible difficulty to ensure some are received during the brief devfee mining period (e.g. -72 seconds per hour for 2%, or whatever).

Samsung doing 18.x at stock speeds, Hynix doing 14.x at stock. So if you get a Hynix card, get rid of it.
...

No, that's only true for Ethash; Hynix memory does just fine with Equihash, Neoscrypt and Lyra2rev2. All of my 1060 (so far - got 2 more coming in) have Hynix memory; see my benchmarks above.
1557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1060 discussion thread on: January 18, 2018, 08:36:17 PM
5x 1060 6gb rig minig 122.2 mh on Ethash algo. Average 83W power draw for each card.

2 of them samsung memory each doing 25.1mh
3 of them micron memory, 2 of them doing 23.7mh other one 24.3mh.

With this performance is it worth mining ethash or you'd still recommend equihash algo?

If you can get those kind of numbers out of your 1060's then by all means mine ethash with them; that's fairly close to an RX 570 with modded BIOS loaded.

Honest question: Is the network under attack or... whats with the 7MH/s on a 0.50 USD coin?

I was just wondering the same thing... as well as which asshat let NiceHack onto their pool?

1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1060 discussion thread on: January 18, 2018, 05:54:22 PM
1050ti cards are more available than 1060 cards and cheaper. Here is the way I look at it

1060 is about 2x the performace at about 2x the cost
1.4-1.7x performance-wise. If the cost advantage (YMMV) outweighs the performance and you have the possibility hook 8+ 1050Ti onto a rig, it may be well worth it.

Yeah, the GTX 1050 Ti isn't quite the useless door stop people make it out to be. Here are some of my benchmarks along with those of the ASUS Dual 3GB 1060 for comparison (and to stay on topic):

Equihash - 190 vs 305 - 1060 is 1.6x faster (dstm 0.5.6)
Neoscrypt - 460 vs 650 - 1060 is 1.4x faster (ccminer-klaust)
Lyra2rev2 - 14.8 vs 22.4 - 1060 is 1.5x faster (ccminer-klaust)
Cryptonight - lol, don't waste your Nvidia cards on this algo (385 vs. 485, in case you are a stubborn cuss, using xmr-stak)
Ethash - lol again, but 13.4 vs 21.9, so 1060 is 1.6x faster (claymore dual 10.3)
