A quick browse of the latest crop of coins show spots and HBN having quite a share of hash power. GME also gaining ground.

After yesterday's surprise launch of orb coin, The Editor is not surprised to see what a abysmal coin ORB turned out to be. With a sneaky launch and a massive premine that totals 4 years worth of coin, it was doomed from the beginning. I downloaded the source and compiled it myself, only to get no connections. I dub this Failcoin of the week.
In what has been considered the final nail in the Nugget coffin...user hotcoldcoin posted a sell order on the forum for nearly a million NUG @ 0.01 btc, if this is any indication as to their worth then it is safe to surmise that the coin is dead.
The attempted Scrypt Asic scam continues to entertain users as the site uploaded even more ludicrous images. An image of a dual cpu board was uploaded and metioned as part of the machine's build. I leave it to the community to boo these guys into oblivion.
Business News
The "Toilet Run" that alt-coins experience this weeks has seen a slight slow down for some coins, others...well, they are in the septic tank. I doubt we'll be seeing any major pumping of the existing currencies.
The recent rise in the BTC price has seen enthusiasts rubbing altcoin users face in it, this is mainly due to a war of words that has been rising between early adopters and fanatics versus the new guys and alt enthusiasts.
Sports
Not much to report here except the knock-out puch Vlad2vlad received after a sell offer was made to sell a million of his shitcoin at 0.01 btc.
Weather
The weather is calm and will hopefully continue so unless we have another sneak launch and/or J-coin releases today.
Trends
The recent multi-mine shindig has seen difficulties rising rapidly as these pools can point +200mh at any coin in their site, their popularity is rising and devs are panicking trying to modify their coins to be able to deter this phenomenon.
Drama and Entertainment
Anonymous rumor has it that BCX will attempt an alt coin first, to kill three alt coins simultaneously. Targets have yet to be announced. If you are holding low hash coins... watch out.

Accusations have been running wild about a possible instamine at the launch of Worldcoin, the outrage by junior members who seem to have joined the community 2 months late has perplexed users of the coin.
User r3wt has witten a long apology letter to the community over the recent Gascoin scandal in which he apparently hid a premine and the delivered a faulty product...r3wt you villian. However some have rejoiced at the fact that this may discourage mos of the new comers hoping to make a quick buck.
In a record breaking discovery....I have not noticed any new Launches today, could the storm finally be over?
lol the instamine isn't exactly news worthy. Most coins that were launched in the past few months were instamined by GPU farms at launch; Worldcoin is no different.

Algo update incoming, give me two days. I am thinking that a per block re-target is best instant high and instant low, and in the event of 20min no block solved, it drops to previous diff. it forces you to either stay or leave. The multi mine pools will leave us alone after they notice this.

Breaking news i spoke too soon ![Lips sealed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/lipsrsealed.gif) Despite the silent launch, Orbitcoin appears to have gained a lot of attention from cryptsy chatters. It already claims a 17mh rate at block 600

@barwiziGet the facts straight, they matter LOL 1) The case pictured in the scrypt scam is a "Coolermaster" model HAF XB, not a Thermal Lake ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) and it appears it's time for someone to come and clean up the garbage known as "shitcoins". ~BCX~ Thermal Lake huh? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I have a shitcoin idea of my own to try unite users of untraded shitcoins. They trade their multiple sh*t for one sh*t that we can all push to the market. if it works, it will combine 25 sh*t coins into 1

Coinwarz has been causing miner confusion today as it has been reporting incorrect prices for cryptsy traded coins. User root1484 @ cryptsy was the first to notice.
The downward spiral of Alts has continued with many bag holders lamenting the high rates at which they bought coins, anticipating exactly what ...we do not know.
Recently Erundook has opened his new trading platform to open beta, again user root1484 was first on the scene. We'll be keeping you informed on user ratings.
Sports News
The war between IGotspots and Vlad2vlad has simmered down of late as most have taken their focus to the Gascoin incident, this has left forum users bored, holding popcorn with nothing to watch.
Trending
Recent rumors have suggested that Shitcoin devs have resorted to launching their coins on little known sites to enable "in the know" premines. Earlier today I heard of a ORB coin but a search of the forum yielded no results. Could this be becoming a trend?
A recent posting of a supposed scrypt ASIC has left members either dumbfounded or hysterically laughing at the very poorly attempted scam, the User uploaded a link to a site. The images there show a coolermaster case and claimed these specs 500 Watt PSU pushing 50,000 Kh/s avg
Weather Report
Today we enjoyed sunny weather with no downpours of shitcoins, miners and traders were seen in chat boxes and generally having a good time. Tommorrows forecast looks bleak as scammers will be taking advantage of the void.

You moronic demented idiot, you wasted a lot of my time! Delete the account and create a new one. No one willl give a shit about you or trust you again! As many of you know, i did a questionable thing to GasCoin, and by extension the AltCoin community its self, and in the process i lost the respect of the community and alienated the supporters of both GAS and NAN. For this i am sorry. Lets be clear here, i am making a simultaneous apology for my multiple transgressions, both before and after the fact. I won't sugar coat it, i was in the wrong and I'm really starting to feel the consequences of my actions. Not only did Gascoin die that day, so did Nanotokens. a list of my transgressions - Delivered shoddy product. I accept atleast partial responsibility for this. I was rushed to meet a deadline and did my best in the time frame i had. (though ultimately i failed and lied about it being ready, when it was no where near complete)
- Premined Coin without permission, Lied about it. Again, i was wrong and i accept the full responsibility on this one. I wanted to get myself a cut of the coin and needed a way to compensate my friends who helped me start the network. I was out of line and broke the chain of command, and ultimately when it came to light i denied it and lied my ass off.
- Lying to the community, denying any wrong doing. Basically i spit in everyones face and denied any wrong doing and refused to accept responsibility for my actions, which ultimately prolonged the ordeal. I realize i could have simply admitted it and resolved the entire issue without it escalating out of hand like it did.
- When confronted about my actions, i stooped so low as to belittle and demean those questioning, those of which did no wrong doing. the only explanation i have for this is that i was feeling the heat of everyone confronting me at once and calling me a scammer and whatever else insults, i felt attacked and i resorted to denying, lying, and namecalling. This was also unnacceptable and i am sorry.
I would like to make a special apology to iGotSpots and Gascoin for betraying the trust you put in me. You came to me to help you, and i flat out took advantage of your trust and generosity. You asked for me to help and even paid me in advance for the coin. I'm sorry that i gave you a shoddy product and went behind your back and Premined your coin and then lied and denied it when you confronted me. I may not be able to rebuild the bridges i've burned over this, but i will atleast do you a solid and ressurect Gascoin. I will be eternally indebted to you for the humility you've displayed through out this whole ordeal. Ultimately after i had admitted to you what i did, that last message you sent me about the coin reputation being ruined because of me, it really got to me. I could almost feel the defeat from your words and i am sorry. Do not feel defeated, it is not your fault. It is my mess to fix and I intend to fix it on your behalf. I am so sorry for what i did to you guys and i hope that your coin is successful beyond your wildest dreams. To anyone else i might have offended or anything else i did that i forgot to include, feel free to bring it up and i'll apologize for that to. this is what i can remember off of the top of my head. I for one trust him. And lashing out at a genuine apology is in bad taste. Decline the apology if you wish, but your choice of words....is crude at best.

ok, so how to go about this proof of life in a manner that is efficient yet secure? you mentioned using mail, how a bout a pop up in the client that requires user input at shar submission? would'nt it then also be possible to have set share submission intervals from registered users who have registered clients? I know it sounds leaning towards closed source but having this kind of system would allow a much broader platform compatibility, lower internet usage, lower blockchain securing costs and lower hardware requirements.
|
|
|
uh, ok. i forgive you....?
|
|
|
well then, lets take this to the next level then , let's call if POL , "proof of life". however someone just asked me how people will perceive it to be valuable if they did not really put effort into it.... as current people give currency value based on how much time they spent mining it and how much they paid to mine it..
|
|
|
Then a new "proof of human" thing maybe ideal. but overall attention, requirements have lowered, without any help from me my miners can now go weeks without any problems, they reboot every 72hrs , auto start mining and switch pools automatically. I only touch one which i use for mining new coins. now with a stable machine, always online pools and cryptoswitcher + my trading bot....i barely need to do anything. And most who i have given this system agree that it is convenient. Now i want to remove the heavy hardware component in that equation.
|
|
|
The advent of new mining tech has lowered cost and increased efficiency. I'd like to start discussing the development of cryptos that can be generated by anyone without need of a GPU or Asic. My eventual goal is to develop a method that works from a pc and has similar efficiency to perhaps a mobile device. I've want to develop a method of coin generation that is not really hardware dependent yet also not too inconvenient.
Games have been suggested but i think games take too much attention. Browser based mining has shown to be inefficient and vulnerable. The system should also try to encourage anonymity. By developing new coin generation methods that have new "proof" ideals...with a view towards easy widespread adoption and eco-friendliness via use of minimal resources, I'm hoping to build a system that can be quickly adopted into everyday use.
I've had a few small Q n As with people but i'd like to hear what the community thinks of such an idea.

for a typical scrypt alt, you can have it done by half the forum members. be careful who you trust though.
