I am so glad the UK never entered with the EU best decision ever. Hopefully the UK/England will leave the EU. The UK can do much much better alone.

Right now the United Kingdom is playing second fiddle to Germany in the European Union. All the major decisions are taken by Germany (and to a certain extent France), with the UK being completely sidelined. A good example is the recent migrant crisis in the Mediterranean. I can’t see any major benefits for the Brits from their EU membership.

UK is playing well between EU and US. They did very good politics with this and they have a strong position "inside" EU without being actual members.
And "if it's not broken, why fix it?"
15563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Greece's first Bitcoin ATM installed on: June 30, 2015, 11:17:45 AM
The only use for it nowadays would be to transfer money out of country.
However, interesting moment to do this, I'd be curious about some usage statistics...
15564  Economy / Economics / Re: Grexit on: June 30, 2015, 11:05:33 AM
Greeks really seem to like living under a communist dictatorship... how about showing some personal initiative (start some business)?

There are the Greeks that have businesses (usually tourism related) which may be to blame only for not paying taxes, but I will not blame them.
And there are the Greeks that found out that "working" inside the budgetary machine means more money and less work. These are the ones which voted for the extremists that promised to protect their way of living.

The result is indeed, some sort of communist dictatorship which is lying them telling it's democracy.

9. EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS ON LEARNING TO BE USEFUL IN SOCIETY AND RESOURCEFUL..MANDATORY ALSO FOR ADULTS TO DO 2 HOURS COMMUNITY SERVICE IF THEY ARE PHYSICALLY ABLE AND IF WEALTHY ENOUGH TO CONTRIBUTE A LITTLE SOMETHING TO THE COMMON GOOD TOG ET THE COUNTRY ON ITS FEET..

The most vocal greeks are very unhappy to get a little less money and continue to do nothing and you propose to those to.... work?! Really??

15567  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank holiday in Greece on: June 30, 2015, 08:15:35 AM
Just imagine what will happen if they return to Drahma and its value will drop to 25% within hours....

For current situation I don't really know what will happen with the companies the import food. How will they pay, because the money is not allowed to leave Greece.

From what I've checked it looks like the your only identification is in browser cookie.
That means that normally you will not lose anything. I even did a test with the faucet money. I've lost my alias on browser restart, but not my money.

If you clean your cookies or change browser / computer then, yeah, not good. On other sites if you could password protect the account (and alias), here I didn't see anything for that.

Also, if other tries to use your "secret" url, it's not letting him in. So it's not as unsafe as you would first think.

15570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ultimate Bitcoin Stress Test - Monday June 22nd - 13:00 GMT on: June 24, 2015, 11:55:26 AM
On monday, CoinWallet.eu conducted a stress test of the Bitcoin blockchain. Not only was our plan to see the outcome, but also to see how easy it would be for a malicious entity or government to create havoc for the Bitcoin community.

...

In our future stress tests, these lessons will be used to maximize the impact.

Wow, impressive! I didn't expect that "well used" 2 BTC can do this much.
However, the network "moved on", which is good. Some (known!) time frame for the services to be fixed / improved until the next stress test would be good.
15571  Economy / Economics / Re: How many people are using Bitcoin debit card? on: June 24, 2015, 11:25:11 AM
This sounds awesome, where can I purchase this officially. But I am afraid, in case of any transactions made through online fails, how will be the pay back methods. It needs complete security and reliability for the consumers and traders, if they fulfill such confidential things, then it is a real good deal.

Bit-X has BTC debit card, Xapo has BTC debit card.. they are easy to reach nowadays.

The memebers of Bit-X sig campaign can also get the Bit-X card without the issuing fee.
However, I'd advise you to look for the costs, on any card you want to check out.
15572  Economy / Gambling / Re: Lottery Question on: June 24, 2015, 10:42:48 AM
is my math wrong here? youre guaranteeing 2000btc? most lottery ideas havent gone far on here because noone trusts it will be paid out

You are correct that is BTC2000, as stated we would offer proof for guarantee.

The reason for this poll is to see if it's actually feasible.

The amount is too big to be true. And you know the saying about "too good to be true".
With 2000BTC even the most trusted escrow could run with the money.
You must gather that amount (plus your margin) to actually give that out and it would take enough time for you to play around with the 5-20 BTC you'd actually gather from the ones that'd try this out.

15573  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Greece leaves Euro - effect on BTC? on: June 24, 2015, 10:32:12 AM
us dollar already gained quite a bit against the euro. i don't think it will gain even more since it might be destructive when the value of the euro falls below 1.00 if that happens prepare yourself for a lot drama.

USD gained (and will gain even more) vs Euro for completely other reason. For some months EU central bank is printing money. A lot of money.
Meanwhile US is slowly getting out of circulation parts of the huge amounts of money they've printed in the past years.
So EUR dropping under USD is not that unexpected.
15574  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [Giveaway]🌑🌓🌔🌕 Daily FREE Twitter Follower Giveaway! 🌕🌔🌓🌑 on: June 24, 2015, 09:59:51 AM
Are this real followers or bots followers?
The followers are high quality and real looking.

Still, count me in. If it's free I don't complain.
15575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must Bitcoiners now "fork" like ancient tribes to survive ? on: June 24, 2015, 09:56:46 AM
Fork is unfortunately the only way to go forward. But forking the chain should not mean a split between the "nodes" and the "miners". I think that this "option" is a little bit too .. "forced".

To be honest, i am also a bit worried about the percentage that the chinese miners have of the network and their power of vote when it comes to the basic protocol.

I hope that this will never become a real problem, though, it also worries me too.
There is always a fix, but nobody will like it: another fork, change of algo for an ASIC-resistant one, bring mining back to people.
(Of course, this may never work for real and it could crash the price too.)
15576  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Greece leaves Euro - effect on BTC? on: June 24, 2015, 09:50:00 AM
Greece will not leave (nor get kicked out of) EU yet.
But IF that WOULD happen, I expect that Euro will also get hurt a lot. And not only me will expect that.
The result will be that Bitcoin and USD will gain quite some %.
15577  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: June 23, 2015, 07:30:15 PM
Guns should be used only by the army and SWAT. I think that such restriction would make life much easier for all.

In america it's seen as a hobby. You can see videos of people testing out guns and shoting out watermelons outdoors in some places that sometimes look like their backyard. It's pretty insane to anyone not living on there. I mean you can walk in on that area without knowing someone is shoting shit up and get shoot... pretty crazy.

Most terrorist have this "hobby" too. Americans will have to let that go. For most cases a pepper spray is just enough.
Really, Have you been in a gunfight? I have, and I know you have not because you think pepper spray is of some use.  Cheesy Good luck with that!
Again, why would anyone listen to people who know nothing about guns? Do you ask the bag boy at the store about your investment portfolio? I know my guns, and I would hope you never pull out pepper spray on an armed person. Your best bet is trying to bargain for your life with a blow job or something. I don't know what will happen in the end. It's really not up to us, the criminal will decide what your future is.

You missed completely my point.
If only army and SWAT would have guns, it would be much less likely you'd end up in a gun fight.
If guns would be so much harder to be bought, the likelihood to see this often gun fights would be much much smaller.
And obviously it's the law enforcement who should take care of this, not you and your guns.

I live in a country where it's very hard to get a gun. And it's the very few things I actually like here. I've never seen a gun fight and the chance to see one in the next 5 years is almost 0, though I use to walk alone in the night on the streets.

Edit: missed a word, yeah, En is not my primary language
15578  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN going up or down on: June 23, 2015, 06:28:26 PM
Hi guys, I'm recently wondering all this work and investments we do with bitcoin, and 2015 hasn't been a very pleasant year for btc. Do y'all think that bitcoin will keep going up or drop to what it once has in 2009? Just imagine one day bitcoin drops 200 dollars, that will probably give all of us depression. Advice and predictions please Wink Huh

Bitcoin is getting more and more popular; more and more people have some or want some bitcoins; even though it's constantly mined, rather soon it will become scarce enough for the price significantly to rise.

15580  Economy / Economics / Re: How does bitcoin block halving work? on: June 23, 2015, 03:58:55 PM
Halving happens at certain block numbers. So the moment in time depends on the global hash rate and cannot be known very accurate.
