I agree this token name confusion is not a plus and may linger for a long time. Just look at the people accidentally buying ETC.

Does anyone know the length limit for token names?

Ya, like people buying NEOS coins instead of NEO  Embarrassed Jeez, that would suck!

I found this about name lengths:
https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/25619/is-there-length-limits-on-token-symbols

It seems that it depends on the exchange. As Gleb Gamow said above about 8 character symbols being the max on YTC-Sox.

Maybe there isn't a max number of characters, but perhaps for display and formatting purposes, individual exchanges choose the number of characters that best fits in their display format.

Take a look at this post - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1859838.msg18498845#msg18498845 - to get a feel on how we'll handle ticker symbols (TicSym; plural = TicSyms).

Okay, now this is getting weird: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_and_inventions_of_Leonardo_da_Vinci#Dissection

Quote
In 30 years, Leonardo dissected 30 male and female corpses of different ages. Together with Marcantonio, he prepared to publish a theoretical work on anatomy and made more than 200 drawings. However, his book was published only in 1680 (161 years after his death) under the heading Treatise on painting.

Just found another project KickCity, reward-based community on blockchain (ERC20). In their article on Medium I read they also want to use KICK token name... (check their Pre-sale details: https://medium.com/@kickcity_io/weekly-update-24-09-17-7851d4c55f5e). Have they contacted you?
And it's not a problem, right? Token is already registered and in use. I guess they'll be quite disappointed - KC is busy now and KICK either... Grin

That IS odd. I wonder why they decided upon using "KICK" as their token name?

How could they not know that "KICK" was already being used by KickICO's tokens?

Plus I think both KickCity and KickICO tokens are both Bancor protocol?

Seems weird.

I think you have it the other way around. KickCity came out prior to KickICO, both based in Russia with the former catering to the offering of tickets via crypto. City is simply now accepting KCs for payment.

So do you mean that KickCity is "simply now" accepting our KICK tokens? Or are they using their own tokens?

In KickCity's whitepaper it says, "KickCity currently supports ticket purchase using FIAT & Bitcoins. In the next few months, we will support KICK, Ethereum and other ERC20 tokens."

So our tokens will be accepted by KickCity?? Or are they talking about their own KICK tokens? I'm confused  Undecided

The tokens they are or will be accepting are the KICK/KC tokens which KickICO created.

Somebody correct me if I'm mistaken.

Bruno

KICKICO and KICKCITY both are different project, KICKICO wanted KC symbol but KernalCoin already took that so KICKICO took KICK symbol now first and will be listed with KICK. KICKCITY will change their symbol name to may be City later when their ICO finish.

Thanks, bud. From this point forward I will no longer use the KC ticker symbol when referring to KickICO, just KICK. As for KickCity's symbol, perhaps KICC or KICKY or KCITY or KCTY or KCKCTY (just brainstormin' for no apparent reason).

1572  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: September 28, 2017, 02:59:51 AM
I just wish to clarify that there is ABSOLUTELY NO indication in the bible that the earth is flat, neither does it state the earth's or the universe's age.
For everyone believing so, please provide us with the verses that supposedly say so...

So you're still going to argue that the Earth is a sphere and we're stuck to the ball via the magic of gravity even after the Bible clearly states #1, that it's covered by dome and #2, that it's motionless? You're going with Satan's theory of gravity (2 lead balls in a shed) over God's word in the Bible?

Unless you're totally brainwashed from birth that Earth is a globe it's actually common sense in conjunction with observation that the Earth is a flat plane. The Bible was all written down thousands of years before globalism was even invented, the need to state the obvious was clearly redundant back then. The bible does however indicate the Earth is flat in the following passages relating to the creation of the Earth.

"Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it?" -- Job 38:4-5

There is no "God's word" in the Bible, there's simply a collection of stories written by man.

It's ironic that someone like yourself who calls out governments, NASA, the education system and scientific bodies as being controlling, manipulative entities fails to see that he has fallen for the biggest, baddest, ultimate self-serving institution ever invented....religion.

Let me in on some of this Bible verses action ...

Genesis 19: 31-32

“One day the older daughter said to the younger, ‘Our father is old, and there is no man around here to give us children—as is the custom all over the earth. Let’s get our father to drink wine and then sleep with him and preserve our family line through our father.’”

So the daughters got the old man drunk as a skunk, then fucked his brains out. God looked down upon the righteous act and said, "Angels, check this shit out. In a few thousands years, descendants of them two girls will spread the Flat-earth word."

Isn't there a good chance that there is quite some weird stuff going on behind the scenes between those two projects?

Possibly, but I'm not in detective mode, wishing to only use the KickICO platform to launch YuTü.Co.in's ICO.

They attract users by promising amazing returns on their investment. They artificially increase the price of their crypto by tricking users into buying it with Bitcoin and giving it back to them, along with the Bitcoin. They pay back the interest to their users from new investments. When their profit is maximized, they sell all of their artificially inflated currency and Bitcoins and disappear.
