reality sinked in fast with this one. makes for an easier trading decision.

Hey manic-depressive-bro. If a <50% correction after a 100% rise scares you, stay out of cryptocurrency. Go invest in a mutual fund. If you're a day-trading master, go ahead and ride the waves.

the first question for a willing longterm investor to ask is:  is xmr widely used as a currency?

No, it's not. And neither is bitcoin.

is it a crime to ask what people think and express my own opinions about price movements?

as for it's not widely used as a currency yet, it's not a problem for me to be quite honest.  if it's trending up for the longterm then it's all good.  but i would be willing to go super longterm to the moon if signs point to mass adoption.  and rightly so.

How many times can you sell the same coins? I thought it happened already in 170s..?

what i meant by easier, is it's easier in letting this one go as it might stay flat/go slowly down.  win or lose, i try to avoid buying and waiting (hoping), unless my paper profit is really huge and can relax a bit.

i'm hoping the driver comes back tho.  but it looks like he may already have left.  i will sell if it stays like this for a few more days.

We are at the price we were only 2/3 DAYS ago.  That's a very short time to base a decision on....

i like trading trends.  i don't buy and hold (hope) anymore.  i am too impatient for it.  having said that, giving it a few more days before making a decision. i'd rather take a small loss than taking a big one cos i was holding (hoping)...

XMR was not designed for quick profits nor day trading. You have not done your homework on this coin. For you, I agree, sell off and go find a day trader's coin.

i do longterm trend following not day trading.

as for homework.. you mean fundamentals?  is xmr even widely used as a currency?

No but neither is bitcoin. So quit bitching then. Looks like you are FUDing to me.

not fud.  i own xmr cos it looks like it's breaking out.  but since you said xmr is not a day trading coin, then i assume you were implying it has good fundamentals.  if so, then the first question for a willing longterm investor to ask is:  is xmr widely used as a currency?

i honestly wouldn't mind switching to investor mode if the answer is yes.

edit:  but if no, what is monero team's plan to change this?

If you asked if XMR is widely used as a currency, is good proof you did not do the homework.
It is time you move to main thread and start at OP.

everyone already knows the answer.  i don't need to "do my homework".   as for implying that xmr has good fundamentals, the first question is:  is xmr even widely used as a currency?  yes or no?

Buy orders set at 40 satoshi  Grin

if it goes down to 40 sats from its current price, then meaning it could go down even more.

Is Monero's short term price outlook getting as obscure as Monero's transactions?  Huh Embarrassed Cry

Time to jump out of the cliff?  Huh

pattern of XMR makes me think it's in limbo.  give it a few more days, it will be an easy "sell/stay away for now", or a "buy/hold" decision.  hope it's the latter.

It's probably due for another small correction soon as the profit-takers are probably looking to re-position themselves. I don't think we will get back to September or mid-june prices at any point soon.  The only thing going for it is that it's starting to be used in the dark corners of the internet now as an alternative to darkcoin.

we'll see what happens in a few days. i am not one to "hold and hope".  if nothing's happening, sell.

edit:  well it looks like the driver is gone.  sorry folks.  but we'll see.  a couple more days and then "bye bye" if nothing happens.

why not have a bitUSD/BTC trading pair for people who do not want to hold fiat but want to speculate on BTC's volatility...?

Admittedly the other coin I hold is ShadowCash.

bolded statement makes me wanna dump xmr tbh.
