15661  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: chinese exchanges reject 20mb block size increase on: June 06, 2015, 07:30:30 AM
chinese should also understand that bitcoin isn't their baby only because they are running the biggest farm(i think they will end forking their own bitcoin in the future) and that something about this current limit must be done, no matter what they think
15662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Circle Android app has 10,000 to 50,000 downloads. on: June 06, 2015, 07:28:18 AM
With Circle, you dont even control your bitcoins .. it makes bitcoin centralized, which is the opposite intent of cryptocurrency.  I can't believe people are actually using this dubious service ..

it is not that different from any other exchange(and you use them too), a decentralized circle would be far better, but it is still a good tool for many users that want fast transactions with about bitcoin
15663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being your own bank and theft on: June 06, 2015, 07:25:15 AM
Hal Finney said he had printed his keys onto paper wallets and stored them in a safety deposit box in his bank for his children to inherit. I guess the bank would require ID before they would let anyone access a particular safety deposit box.

so we don't need bank for bitcoin in the end, because you can already do it, in thi way, cool idea

Why would people be mugged for Bitcoin? The majority of the planet doesn't even know what it is.

when someone will discover that they are actually money, you will become a target in no time, especially if they know your amount, because you revealed it in some subforum or to a friend that it isn't really a good friend
15664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hold on....you can buy things on ebay now....with Bitcoins! on: June 06, 2015, 07:18:37 AM
Now i just need a paypal funding option. Ebay is good but most stuff there are junk anyway.

this could be a problem indeed, i doubt they will reinburse you if you pay via gift using bitcoin, but paypal was talking about integrating bitcoin, maybe it will change with this
15665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: if I disconnect my pc will my BTC be safe on: June 06, 2015, 07:08:08 AM
my ip is dynamic, i'm not worried about that, being a target or not, they still need to find a way to infect me, which mean that they need that i download something or click on something, almost impossible

i think if you are really careful and know what your are doing, you are the best antivirus of your desktop, but i agree that such thing isn't advisable, average joe don't have the patience for something like this, they can not manage their own security
Sorry, you think that you've got it figured out, but you don't. Opening a single email could be the ticket to your Bitcoin hell.

yeah i know, but i'm very careful everytime i open one, usually you need to download something there, also

No. Having multiple antivirus software is a bad idea because they will counteract each other. They will start fighting over viruses, they will try to kill each other and sap your power. However, it is okay to have an AV and Malwarebytes.
Strong viruses aren't a thing of that you would encounter everyday, correct. However, this goes only for your average internet users.

it's funny how you always want to contradict me  Cheesy, but you are wrong on malwarebyte, it can be used without any problem, along with others antivirus
15666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why i am here :0 on: June 06, 2015, 07:04:38 AM
bitcoin is just money, a method to transfer value from one user to the other. no different in that respect.

It is also just like money in that there is no one giving it away for free (no significant amount anyway)

think of all the ways you can earn $ online, then apply that to earning BTC online. its the same. for legit pay you must do legit work. Anyone offering you get rich quick or easy money is trying to scam. just like regular money scams.

avoid the securities section especially. it is a snake pit of rip-offs and scams. get some btc and hold. its the only hope you have for ever seeing a profit. and that could take years, if it even happens at all.

Nice info but what if we invest in BTC mining ? how much investment needed to generate 50$/day and how much time it will take to ROI ?

we are also investing in HYIP but not serious amount we do it by investing 10$ max/ hyip Smiley so if one goes down before ROI i don't have to sell my home Smiley

50 a day is a very high amount, we are talking about 0.217 a day(better to use bitcoin for your measure of the money, we are in a bitcoin forum after all), you need 17-18 antminers s5, to generate that income per day

those thing cost around 350 each, usually their roi is around 6 months, more or less

for HYIP i'm also trying one, and for the moment they are paying, started with 0.1, and received my principal back in 10 days plus 3% interest, now i raised it to 0.5, let's see if they are scammers...
15667  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Hardware whats going on? on: June 06, 2015, 07:00:24 AM
i only know that knc are investing in 16nm chip and that a new line up of miners is coming for them, but as it was said they don't sell anymore, so it's a bit of pointless news

yea I saw something as well about that but if they are not building it for the public that is kind of dumb considering they made an announcement again I hope we get some new hardware in so we can buy.

I remember buying an A2 for around $11,000 Smiley and made some coin and alt coin off of it than after selling it for around $6,000 dont think I ever ROI'd but it was fun.

maybe they will do the same thing that they have done in the past, like asking you money for pre-orders, ship the initial 1 and 2 batch, and then close the door for future orders
15668  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Do you think a mining ak-47 is a good idea? on: June 06, 2015, 06:31:25 AM
another hylarious thread by you, i actually like it, sometimes it's good to make funny thread and not be always too serious for any aurgment...but you need something that connect it to internet and a powerful battery to replace the lack of electricity

it seems unworkable, but you can do it in a funny way, for example for every bullets you receive 100 satoshi or 1k
15669  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ╣├ Research about Faucets ┤╠ on: June 06, 2015, 06:27:49 AM
put a game inside it, this will attract more viewer and more players,, maybe start with something from 500s, then the game let you increase it to 1k and above

you need something that keep the interest of people when they are visiting your faucet, gamining is the perfect choice
15670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Booty Girls !!! on: June 06, 2015, 06:24:03 AM
If sex sells then how come those videos barely have any views?

because you can find porn everywhere already, also porn is a bit boring nowadays, always the same thing, you need to do somethign a bit original, but it is not an easy task in that environment

if you really want bitcoin and porn to succeed , bitcoin should be integrated in some famous site like pornhub, but they adopted something called "titicoin" apparently
15671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why don't we create a new crypto and call it bitcoin? on: June 06, 2015, 06:21:28 AM
this is was already done multiple times, there is an altcoin discussion, they just don't call those bitcoin to avoid confusion

actually there was one, and it was called exactly bitcoin but it was scrypt, then they removed it because it was making too much confusion, now it's called bitcoin scrypt
15672  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: if I disconnect my pc will my BTC be safe on: June 06, 2015, 06:19:46 AM
if there is a trojan or a keylogger in your pc, of course they will steal your data.
so even if your pc was off if they have you private key, decrypted. they can stole your money.
but if it's encrypted it will not stop them but just delay them.
and the most of trojans or keyloggers cannot be detectd by the most AVs (i'm got some victims of my keylogger the detection of AVs ar just 3 anti-viruss that detect it)
and the most of hackers or data stollers just stole passwords (especially paypal , banks) and credit cards numbers but i don't think about bitcoin private keys.

well you need more than one antivirus, for example you can malwarebytes, also the free version of av isn't the same as the full version

anyway strong virus(like those that can hides themselves in any folder) are not a thing of everyday, it isn't that easy to be infected by those
15673  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: June 06, 2015, 06:15:22 AM
Either trading (but it's hard to earn without losses there) or affiliate programs and freelancing are IMO the only three ways to really earn. Correct me if I'm wrong... but IMO most other things are either rip-offs or kind of "get $0.00000001 for free clicking ads"

trading bitcoin is something that requires experience and skill though, wouldnt really recommend it to the beginners without a good background in trading already.

newbie should start trading with altcoin instead, it is far easy than trading with bitcoin, there is a pattern that those alt follow, you just need to spot a new coin and invest immediately into that, usually they always rise at first, then there is a dump and the death of it

and this is the reason why you see some users in the official thread of that coin, that are selling off market, to catch the train later, i've done it plenty of times in the past and always worked
15674  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is day trading on Coinbase profitable? on: June 06, 2015, 06:12:58 AM
1% is a crazy fee.....only playable for mid to longterm

it's not 1%, this rumor is false, it's 0.25% for trading, like many others exchange, the 1% is for withdrawal only
15675  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So fees may apply to some transaction !! on: June 06, 2015, 06:11:28 AM
there is a misconception here, usually they say that bitcoin can move large quantity of money with a very small fee compared too fiat, not that you don't need fee at all, still 10k satoshi is a very ridiculous amount
15676  Other / Meta / Re: Satoshi's IP address(es)? on: June 05, 2015, 07:51:43 PM
Even if there was a time when satoshi leaked his IP I am sure theymos deleted all records related it long before the forum got hacked.

does theymos also changed his password? because with the last downtime, there is the possibility that his account may have been hacked, it would be problematic
15677  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you expect from the halving in 2016? on: June 05, 2015, 07:39:48 PM
Another trick question:

Why do some people insist that the supply of bitcoins will fall at the halving, when the supply of bitcoins will actually continue to rise at the rate of 75 per hour.

where did you get the number from?

apparently some users does read only the last post of the thread...

here for your nuisance

What I didn't understand:
How will 75 coins increase per hour when the reward will decrease by a half?

The current reward is 25 BTC, which increases the supply at the rate of 150 per hour. After the halving, the supply will continue to increase, but at the rate of 75 BTC per hour.
15678  Economy / Economics / Re: Was Bitcoin actually just a Pump and Dump? on: June 05, 2015, 07:31:46 PM
Just remember a bitcoin is a place holder for the speculative value that we the public assign to it. It has no intrinsic value, and as such reacts like a stock in the speculative market, meaning it is extremely volatile.
Nothing has intrinsic value. Gold has value because of network effect, just like Bitcoin. In any case, Bitcoin has more intrinsic value than Gold, because it's a lot more useful than a piece of metal.

You obviously forget that this metal has many uses beyond just being a precious one. So you may want to think again which has more "intrinsic" value...

the same is for the technology sorrounding bitcoin, it has more to offer than just being an instrument for trading, just think of what you can build on top of the blockchain that can make your life easy or better

I'm really fascinated at the amount of wishful thinking and pipe dreaming going on here. What exactly does it have to offer, and why is it not here already if it does make my (or anyone else's) life easier or better?

In short, if you're so smart, why are you so poor?

because you need money to make that happen, some companies are moving in that way, you just have to be patient...i guess those that say that people here have no patience, are right after all...

moreover bitcoin is still viewed as a risky environment
15679  Economy / Economics / Re: What to buy.. what to buy.. on: June 05, 2015, 07:28:03 PM

if you can't sell your land, you can always build stuff in top of it, and produce something to sell, so still worth it, in any case

You must spend more money to build that, and if you do, what kind of building will you build? If you build something that people don't like it, so they never come to your building, and the price of your land will be decrease.

there is one thing that people will always want, and they need forever

foods

this is the answer, build something that provide some special foods, or even a small supermarket, in a strategic zone, and you are done
15680  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Circle Buying Limits? on: June 05, 2015, 07:12:14 PM
does anyone know how much one can get raised?  That is even lower than coinbase.  How do you guys buy thousands and tens of thousands of dollars of bitcoin then?

i remember that the limit was 500 per week, not 100, it seems that they changed it

anyway it increases based on your age on circle, it's like the activity of this forum
