Ok, guys.... don't bite my head off, there were nothing under the Press section and I think this is major news, so I decided to post it here for the people that will look for something under the news section of this forum.

I will do a search on the forum to see if I can find the other threads discussing this and then I will close this thread, if it is not adding value to the discussion.  Wink
1582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another saga looming to hit bitcoin. on: March 29, 2023, 06:51:14 AM
There is a saying that says, "The biggest trees, always catch the most wind" and this is so true for Binance... because they are one of the largest Crypto Exchanges in the world.

We know that it is a centralized financial institution, so the enemies in government will always target the big guys first.. because they know it will have the biggest impact, if they can bring it down.  Angry

1583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The future of CBDC in gambling. on: March 28, 2023, 07:00:51 AM
Well, Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) are actually just a digital version of Fiat currencies, so regulators will have no problem if people use it at casinos. It will even help them to track money laundering and also to gather information on people's tax obligations.

This was actually developed to counter the affect that Crypto currencies has on the financial sector and I think they will introduce this as the "only" digital currency that will be legal in the future. (It will totally destroy any form of financial privacy)  Angry
1584  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: March 28, 2023, 06:48:15 AM
It is easier to say it than do it, gambling addictions are of different levels this you must understand, there are level of addictions that will only take the grace of God for the victim to come out of it, it doesn't matter how many books the victim reads or how many card tricks the individual try to perform in a day, this can not replace the urge to gamble, most especially when the individual involved have easy access to money 💵.

I view addiction as a sickness or a disease. If it is a disease or sickness, it can be healed. It can be cured. It may be hard, but if you put enough effort into it, you are serious and there is enough support from the people that surrounds you, it can be done. There is no easy fix but it is doable. There are some addictions that I personally have eventually dropped. It is not gambling addiction, but it is equally hard to drop.

No, that is a easy cop out for some people that has this problem. Most addictions have some link to the hormones in our brain...and gambling is one of those. The brain will secrete certain "feel good" hormones when we do certain things, like using drugs or the adrenaline rush that we get from gambling.

So people will get addicted to that adrenaline rush, which is a substitute for other things that they do not get from life. You will often hear about someone being addicted to one thing and when they stop with that thing, it is normally replaced with something else. (Eg. Smoking and food)
1585  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and the fall of Twitter on: March 28, 2023, 06:39:58 AM
In a way, Elon Musk did this to get back at the people that were in charge of Twitter, after the whole thing about him and market manipulation accusations that were brought against him, with the Dodge coin and Shiba debacle.  Roll Eyes

I think he thought that he would scare them with the buyout offer and then they took it seriously ..so when he pulled out of the deal, they went after him and he had to honor the deal in the end.  Tongue
1586  Bitcoin / Press / [2023-03-16] Coin mixer ChipMixer taken down by global authorities on: March 28, 2023, 06:01:54 AM
ChipMixer, which was launched in 2017, was formally taken down on March 15 over its involvement in money laundering activities. German authorities seized four servers, around 1909.4 BTC and 7 terabytes of data.

Source : https://coingeek.com/coin-mixer-chipmixer-taken-down-by-global-authorities/

Now, this is my concern...and nobody is really talking about this... What data are stored by these Mixer services? I was under the impression that ZERO data are stored about the mixing of tokens/coins.... but yet ... 7 terabytes of data were seized.

Disclaimer : I am not concerned about this, because I do not use Mixer services for criminal activities.... but I do use them to break the chain between my main hoard and the other wallets that I use for my daily needs.  Tongue
1587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Never, ever, buy your hardware wallet from a third-party on: March 28, 2023, 05:50:38 AM
Amazon is one of largest 100 companies in the world, Amazon total assets are 462$ billions and they have 1.5 millions staff - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_(company).
I think they are safe for buying, even hardware wallets. This youtuber gets somewhere cryptoware virus. But the main question is  - how this cryptoware virus infected also hardware wallet ?

No, there are no "reported" virus that can infect hardware wallets... so you can discount that. In all probability ...the hardware wallet were intercepted by someone during the transport from the supplier to Amazon and they opened the box and somehow retrieved the "seed" or "private keys" for the wallet.

I have seen a video where they extracted information with special hardware from the hardware wallet, but they have to have physical access to the device to do it.  Tongue
1588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evidence that I actually invested for my baby on: March 27, 2023, 11:14:22 AM
Based on your last thread, which you created on the 14th of March, I assumed you purchased your BTC on that same day, when the price of Bitcoin was $24178.96, which means 0.00207 BTC is worth 50 dollars based on that day's price. And today's BTC price is $27,900, that's 0.00207 BTC, which you purchase will give you about 57-58$. How come you are having 83$ on the above screenshot, or am I missing something here?OP: I doubt your story, but it looks all cooked up.

It depends on what "source" the wallet are using to determine the price, because the price on exchanges differ from country to country. We used to do some arbitrage between exchanges, but the price difference is so small.. that it was not very profitable.

I worked in Africa a few years ago, when the Bitcoin price was almost $300 higher on their exchanges, than what it was on all the other exchanges, but only locals could access those exchanges.  Roll Eyes
1589  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Want to see what it takes for your favorite crypto to hit it's ATH? on: March 27, 2023, 06:59:15 AM
Am I the only one or do others also have this error I cannot fill in the coin that I want to write or there are no options to choose the coins it just shows blank space, this is a good tool if you can fix this, I tried in on 3 other browsers but I have the same results on all of them.

You type in the white space. I just tested it in 2 different browsers with no issues.

I am open to suggestions on what else to add here as we thought about a ranking system for searched coins. For example, you search shib, and we show that search along with data below it showing the top shib holder wallets or something like that.

Well, you can add the top 20 best performing Crypto tokens for the last 7 days if you really want to add value to your site.  Wink  It is after all a tool that will assists people to make a more informed decision on their Crypto trading.

I also tried it on several browsers and it was working fine. You might add a statement somewhere that says ..." Site is working the best with XXX browser" after you tested it.  Wink
1590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does your country tax your gambling winnings? on: March 27, 2023, 06:51:40 AM
I think it is unfair if you lost say $10 000 and then suddenly win say $5000.... and then they expect you to pay taxes on the $5000 that you have won, but unfortunately that is how it is working in my country.

The online gambling provide nice bet history for you to use, but they do not want that, they are just interested in your winnings. I have heard that they are in the process of changing this, because they want to tax crypto winnings as capital gains.  Roll Eyes
1591  Economy / Economics / Re: What's is daily budgets or expenses as a bitcoiner? on: March 27, 2023, 05:50:15 AM
I follow a 80/20 strategy, where I convert 20% of my income to Bitcoin, so that I can "use" Bitcoin as a currency to buy food at local food vendors that are willing to accept Bitcoin as a payment option.

The other 80% are hoarded for speculative and investment options to profit in the long-term. We have to find ways to support Bitcoin as a payment option or it will not generate enough transactions in the future to sustain miners.  Tongue
1592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The End of the Bitcoin Mixing Service, Should We Worry about Our Privacy? on: March 27, 2023, 05:23:19 AM
Do you think Peer-to-Peer sharing services all went down, when one of these sites were targeted in the past? No, new sites popped up like mushrooms to take it's place.....and that is what is going to happen with all the mixer services that are targeted.

Let's not forget that the IT industry are very adaptive in nature... so people will develop something new to replace current mixer services to make it more difficult to take it down.  Wink
1593  Economy / Economics / Re: Cheap food: can you beat this price in your country? on: March 25, 2023, 06:23:22 PM
I work on contract in many third world countries and I see what malnutrition does to people, so I will not recommend people going on a diet like that for extended periods. People should eat a balanced diet that meets their daily nutritional needs, if they can... so add some fruit and sugar and more protein to that meal.  Wink

Some of the people in the rural towns are doing wonders with the little amount of money that they earn...but they still eat a very balanced diet. (Trading crops and skills between each other)

I also saw that some people in the US that are living off discount coupons and barely paying for food. (Some even manage to get money back from the shop, if they work it out correctly)  Roll Eyes
1594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Crypto Privacy Coins and Mixers Illegal ? on: March 25, 2023, 06:02:02 PM
The thing is.... not all people using mixers are using it for criminal activities. I use them to "clean" my coins, because I do not know where it originated from and if it is linked to crime, if I will be implicated.  Roll Eyes

The mixers will prevent "anyone" to fire up a browser and then to navigate to a block explorer and to trace everyone back to their hoard. Do you think "everyone" can do that with cash? (So why should it be illegal if you have pseudo anonymity when you use cash?)  Angry
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem you think AI can fix in gambling on: March 25, 2023, 05:55:15 PM
I think if casinos can give AI enough data, it can do the same filtering that humans do to detect Alt account abuse. They can also be used to identify and "red flag" money laundering strategies and patterns , so that this can be reduced.

It will be interesting to see if this can be done in real-time and how fast the casinos can react on this output. I also want to see how scammers will react to this and what happens if there are false positive results.  Roll Eyes
1596  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is antillephone a legit Curacao casino Validator? on: March 25, 2023, 05:49:45 PM
I wonder if this has been done on purpose to confuse people and to get them to believe that unlicensed casinos are actually operating under a valid Curacao license?

Did anyone contact the Curacao license board to see if this is a legit validator? I have also seen some casinos using some sort of sub-license agreement to operate several casinos under one license.  Roll Eyes
1597  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: March 25, 2023, 05:42:01 PM
I think they will always fight each other. The player will try to create an AI for 100% winnings, and the casino will analyze such AI to prevent players from winning.
It will be possible to win from time to time - when the player's AI finds a new way to win, and the casino AI has not yet broken it.
That's not what I mean but the casino has a sophisticated system and is designed no one can beat it even though a very intelligent AI has been developed in any way but it will only be in vain.
So far I haven't found a tool that's really right to be able to beat the casino, except for hackers.
Casinos will only lose to hackers who can hack all the systems in the casino.
I don`t think that only hackers can win the casino. Today we see that AI is using everywhere and the casino can use machine learning to protect their winning and the gamblers can try to understand winning algo the same time the same way. And it is possible situation that in some moments gamblers can catch the casino. But some time later the casino change algo and they begin next round.

Yea, I think the casinos can also benefit from the AI, because it can use the AI to find "holes" in their security and also in the algorithms that they are using. It must be used preventative to stop exploits, not when they are already found and exploited.

I am very curious to see if AI are more clever than humans to spot these "exploits" and to see how it will react when it founds it. (It would be great if it would go into White hat hacker mode and report it to the casinos) Wink
1598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Game do you think is a Game of Chance or a Game of Skill? on: March 24, 2023, 07:34:47 AM
Poker and Blackjack are pure skill&luck games while slots and dice can be considered as only luck-based games. A gambler shouldn't even think about how to beat the house edge on dice but his chances are higher on the Blakcjack or Poker due to the lower house edge compared to provably fair games. Skills are more critical in sports but the luck factor shouldn't be ignored, that is why call it gambling.

Let's be honest.... online Poker is not the same as real 1on1 Poker, so there are not a lot of skill that can help you with online Poker. Yes, you need the knowledge about the game, but you do not have the ability to analyze your opponent to show you what their "tell" is or even to count cards.

In the end.. all online games are based on "luck" and some skill to know how the games work and what combinations to play. Any DICE strategies and Martingale type strategies are worthless.  Roll Eyes
1599  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: March 24, 2023, 06:55:39 AM
The AI bot prediction accuracy depends on the amount of data you give to it. For example, for a football match, the more it knows about the competing teams, the more accurate its prediction will be.
However, there is two other important factors you have to consider which make it hard to beat the house. The first one is the luck factor. The second one is how resourceful the bookies are. They certainly have more data than you so they can get better results and so they will adjust the odds on their favor.

Yes, even if you manage to use AI to predict the correct Sport bets, you will not be able to get away with it for a long time. The bookies are resourceful and the casino will restrict or handicap your account, once they flag you as a professional.  Roll Eyes

The saying... "The house always win" is so true for many other reasons than simply finding a way to beat the system. They have counter measures to react, when they see unnatural betting, so you will lose in the end.  Tongue

I hope "die seuntjies" can give me a "lekker" answer to my question, because Dice is killing my budget on Stake.com. Hope you guys have a nice day. Oh, I hope you can read between the lines without saying too much, if you know what I mean...  Wink Wink Wink
