1581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Charlo vs Derevyanchenko on Sept 26 on: September 25, 2020, 04:52:42 PM
I'm not a fan of the Charlo brothers, but I still think Jermall is going to win this one.

Derevyanchenko is coming off two losses in the last three fights, against similar tier fighters to Charlo (Golovkin and Jacobs). And he only beat a bottom-feeder like Culcay by decision.

I'm going to go for Charlo in 5-8 by KO/TKO.

Once Charlo wins, he'll still be in third place in the middleweights though, Since Golovkin and Saul Alvarez are the only two ranked higher than him, with massively better records too.
1582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain and Bitcoin adoption globally. What is the cause of the slow pace. on: September 24, 2020, 10:40:58 PM
Blockchain and Bitcoin has been on for more than a decade (according the statoshi's white paper) and up until this moment, there is still struggle in the global community in terms of adoption. Countries like India once placed sanctions on the technology and later lifted it. Russia made laws to govern and regulate the operation of the technology in a bid to take advantage of the solutions it proffers and loads of other stuff ongoing in different locations but still we still have a very slow paced increase in growth and devlopment and acceptance. What could possibly be the reason and what are the ways to further create awareness and global acceptance.

The cause is both the lack and harsh regulation. People don't want to invest millions into blockchain founded projects and then find out that regulatory changes leads to them losing a lot of their money. Similarly, not many countries have taken this seriously and devised regulations around cryptocurrency.

The infantile adoption of blockchain and its derivative crypto assets is at the mercy of officials devising strategies that would assert investors and give them the go ahead signal.

Until this is resolved, you won't be seeing many corporations placing their funds into crypto assets, although a few of them have already embarked on this risky journey, though this is not the norm.
1583  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Outrageous trading fees, should I switch to stocks? on: September 24, 2020, 08:49:52 PM
Whether you opt for crypto or stock market the risk associated with investment is not going to dilute. Investment is about risk and if you were to ask a successful investors how they got to where they are they'd most probably tell you 'diversify'.

So the point I'm trying to put across is that it is best to be involved in both worlds, let you sole dependency on either crypto or stock market wear away. Here, is an article addressing the exact same issue, should one look at investing in BTC and crypto market in general or switch their attention to stocks.

In the end, it doesn't matter what one decides if they consider it is the best for them. However, one must be properly equipped before making a decision, so a guide could be a consideration of the pros/cons of crypto over stocks and vice versa. Should you wish to read more about it, you can do so here.
1584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Card counting in black jack on: September 24, 2020, 07:29:52 PM
At the moment, this does not make any practical sense since the deck is shuffled long before the player (even the one who counted the cards completely) can gain an advantage.

I must say that the reason card counting has been scrapped from casinos is because it would otherwise put the player at an arguably greater advantage and thus giving them a higher winning chance.

Of course, this type of business will lead to casinos losing much more than they want as they're all about making money. SO asking for something like this is nothing more but futile.

1585  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best online gaming platform on: September 24, 2020, 05:49:20 PM
Ever thought of ways to increase your wealth through some online gaming platforms? https://www.kingbillycasino.com/en-AU/games/slots got you covered as it's the best online gaming platform that offers its users chances to increase their wealth within a short period of time.

The regulars of gambling board can tell you the most about how to increase your wealth through gaming platforms.
None of the presented platforms aims to distribute money to users. It all depends on luck, if you are lucky you won the unlucky lost. Therefore, it is not necessary to say so clearly that the platform you offer will allow players to earn money without fail. This can be confusing for newbies.

In most of the cases you will lose money from gambling rather than gaining the money. Only the gambling platforms are certain to make profit from this business. Other then the few lucky gamblers, most of the users will only lose money from gambling. Also few only play for fun and does not care if they lose or win the money in this process.

It is preposterous how this has been proposed in the main claim as "the best online gambling platform that offers users to increase their wealth in a short period of time". How can this claim even be supported, it can't.

Gambling is gambling, no matter where you play.

While it is true that house edge and fair play can affect the outcome of the games and pot size considerably, the hard truth about gambling still stands.

Gambling is not a safe way to create wealth, instead it is a place where you try your luck and during the process you have fun and a good experience which rarely leads to winnings, mostly losses.

So, creating market movement based on fallacies isn't the way...

Needless to say how disappointing I am with the title of this - it's misleading, and I hope newbies don't take the bait seriously.
1586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Operation DisrupTor: Over $6.5m in cash and crypto seized by FBI on: September 24, 2020, 04:14:46 PM
So it's sending a message across the globe that the days of dark web will no longer 'fence' anyone, and even if you used crypto, the law enforcement agencies are going to track and hunt you down.

Most of the recovered assets are either physical or fiat, it seem that the proportion of crypto is little. It therefore points to me that this activity was flagged mainly because of the opium and fiat rather than crypto.

This isn't surprising as it greatly aligns with what other studies have found when looking at fiat vs crypto money laundering activities. Consistent findings show that crypto represents only a minor part of money laundering activities with most coming from fiat. One reason for this is the technology barrier crypto provides. Can read more about it here.

As for crypto being a place where illegal activity is being measured, the use of P2P is relatively safe compared to exchanges etc, see image below, and you can read more here.

1587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if "De-Fi" platforms become regulated in the future? on: September 23, 2020, 10:20:06 PM
What do you think the outcome of "De-Fi" regulation will be? Will governments be successful at the task like they did with ICOs? Or not? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Smiley
With the boom in projects using DeFi the attempt for regulation is on the way.

The governments don't like having anything running loose specially when their room for argument is money laundering which inadvertently involves lots of money which is why I think they won't look the other way but instead think of strategies to regulate it somehow.

If DeFi is to replace banks in the future which I think it's a plausible outcome then I do believe some form of regulation is required. Its implementation will be rough but it will give skeptics piece of mind.

1589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Less Volatile Coins on: September 23, 2020, 08:18:45 PM
I am a newbie on this forum and I have read my posts that people complaining how they lost their fund as a result of investing on Volatile coin like BTC. Is it now advisable for newbie like me to invest on less Volatile coin like Tether or Gemini USD.

Stable coins like Tether isn't worth investing in as there isn't a  way to make profit if this is what you're looking for. The purpose of stable coins is to 'peg' your crypto which will otherwise be volatile to a more stable type of crypto. Hence, it's a way to stay put or withdraw your assets from exchanges for a while.

If you want to invest in crypto there is no way to bypass volatility. As a matter of fact this is what provides traders with the immense opportunity, volatility is KEY to healthy profit.

Also, if you're not cut out for risk and losses this unfortunately isn't a place for you as there are many ways to lose money. So the best thing to do is invest in educating yourself, and then gauge your risk.
1590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for blind people on: September 23, 2020, 06:57:09 PM
However, my concern is how blind people are able to get used to Bitcoin? To my knowledge, wallets (either with a GUI or CLI) don't have "text-to-speech" features to make blind people's lives easier.

This is a concern but not an immediate one since the market group in comparison to the main stream is rather small. Some would think from reading this that this is deliberate inequality but as a business one has to focus on its target market.

At the same time, this is a whole which provides an opportunity if one wishes to invest into it. Because of the large financial implications, I fear not many investors are prepared to do that just yet, but as digital currency becomes more common I'm certain some will start thinking about inclusion properly.

There are certainly ways to do it like the 'text-to-speech' recognition feature alas something more flexible would be required and only with the right market research one can start predicting and testing. The other thing to consider is that perhaps this target audience isn't so interested due to luck of knowledge so perhaps for now the better option is to produce more audible content where they can learn more about BTC and blockchain.
1591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Less Volatile Coins on: September 23, 2020, 05:28:21 PM
What's the point of investing in stablecoins? That's no different to simply keeping your funds in USD or whatever your national currency is.

As their name suggests, stablecoins like Tether and True USD, Gemini Dollar etc are all pegged to the value of the dollar. They don't fluctuate in value, therefore you're going to experience any gains or appreciation by simply holding them.

That said, you can purchase stablecoins and then invest them on a platform like Nexo, Celsius, or Blockfolio to earn a return on your investment—usually somewhere around 8% per annum.

But you could probably earn a lot more per year by holding appreciating assets like Bitcoin. (Just be prepared to take the bad with the good).
1592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do scams harm Bitcoin's reputation in the mainstream world? on: September 22, 2020, 10:40:15 PM
Absolutely they do, I've had several people tell me they no longer invest in cryptocurrency due to a bad experience, which usually revolved around them being scammed in the most obvious way—such as being scammed by a fake admin or handing over their private keys to somebody else.

I think it's always going to be one of the main barriers for cryptocurrency adoption, since the tabloids and newspapers love posting articles about how an old woman was scammed out of her life savings investing in Bitcoin or something similar.

Nothing we can do about it really.
1593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where i can find info of up coming coins like defi YFI AND UNISWAP Kind of?? on: September 22, 2020, 09:30:57 PM
https://t.me/uniswaplistings

You can find projects as soon as they're listed on Uniswap in this Telegram channel.

Be warned though, the vast majority of these are almost certainly scams, and it doesn't provide any information about the token itself, it's use case, who's behind it etc.

But it's a good place to start your research and you can still get in early for promising projects if you take the time to DYOR.
1594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Teofimo Lopez Lightweight Unification fight on: September 22, 2020, 08:02:18 PM
The split is already predetermined, Lopez is already guaranteed $ 1.x million, and there are no PPV here, that's why he was offered that big amount. Initially he has rejected it and Loma step up and agree to have his pay cut just to be able to salvage the fight. Of course, boxing now is business, trash talk and stuff, but most of the time, the fighters that is so loud mouth losses the fight, except perhaps for elite boxers such as Floyd Mayweather who can walk the walk and talk the talk.

Lomachenko is not fighting for money, he just want to kick Lopez's ass right away when they stepped in the ring. Now that Lomachenko has already sacrifice some grand just to make this fight happened, I'm pretty sure that we will gonna see some all out war from him. This is some serious match right here, I wonder if he can really make a red mark to Lopez's record.

Of course he's fighting for money, otherwise he would just beat whichever bum comes his way, including the dozens of top 50 guys that would love to get in the ring with him.

I've seen plenty of Lomachenko's fights fall through because they couldn't come to terms on pay grade.

I don't think Loma should take a pay cut just to ensure Lopez's purse though, that's beta AF. I guess it must have been the only high paying fight that was possible to make.
1595  Economy / Gambling / Re: bet.io domain for sale on: September 22, 2020, 06:07:50 PM
Bet.io is a nice domain but here's the thing. People base their Domain value at a price that is typically close to what online evaluators appraise such domains.

For this one, the max I found was from GoDaddy which appraised it at $11,000 and the least credible evaluation was from pc.domains which evaluated it at $1100

So you asking for a minimum of 7 BTC is you just clowning around and nothing more. I think you'll be lucky to get $10,000 to be honest.
1596  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm thinking about trading. My name says it all. on: September 18, 2020, 09:16:55 PM
If you are genuinely a layman, then you clearly have no idea what cryptocurrencies are or how trading works. Really not a good start.

I'd suggest spending some time and researching into the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies and the current market climate before you even register to an exchange.

Binance Academy and Ledger Academy have some good resources for this type of information. NewsCrypto also has a lot of tutorials, but this is more trading oriented, and so should come at a later step.

I'd also recommend spending some time in popular trading communities on Telegram and Discord to get a general feel for things.

Once you've done all that for at least a couple weeks to a month full time, then it's time to start trading using demo accounts on spot trading platforms.

Once you can reliably turn a profit when demo trading, you're ready to step into the big leagues.
1597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH's fees on "De-Fi" platforms are ridiculously high on: September 18, 2020, 09:03:16 PM
You'll often find that there are a handful of wallets that cover the transaction fees for users.

I know FalconSwap does, for OpenPredict at least.

For most transactions, you can actually cut the fees down slightly by sending it using slightly lower than the GWEI recommended by ETH gas station, even 10% or so should be confirmed fast.

Likewise, you can cut fees down on Uniswap by skipping WETH as an intermediary, since that bumps the transaction right up (where possible).

1598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNISWAP (UNI) is driving me CRAZY!! on: September 18, 2020, 07:22:44 PM
congrats man, if i were you, forum will be the last place to share that information
will probably have some other choice about my time today, then to hang-out on the forum, but free will, enjoy your money

do you plan to invest in some other coins, or stick with UNI

Not sure if extremely gullible or troll?

It's obvious that OP didn't actually randomly get $2 million in UNI from nowhere. Only extremely high frequency traders and whale liquidity providers would get anywhere close to that amount.

Most of us just 400 on each account we used.
1599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr. vs. Danny Garcia IBF & WBC Welterweight Title on: September 18, 2020, 06:44:52 PM
Although Spence is definitely one of the best in the division, he did get into a car accident recently that put him into a bad state. It took him months to recover, and even walk again if I recall.

Not only that, but this led to a long layoff from boxing, which could have adversely affected his game. Realistically, there's that's a lot to battle back through and stay in top form.

I think it's going to be a closer fight than many people expect, I'd have to say it's pretty even really. Because of that, the odds on Danny Garcia to win are pretty nice right now.
