701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC become the world central currency? on: June 03, 2021, 04:01:02 PM
Can BTC become central to the world currency? I think not, and this has to do with the fact that the blockchain in fact any blockchain is not ready for the mass traffic that it will encounter daily. The network is also not efficient enough and getting regular people to understand why their banks are now run by smart chains is not going to be an easy thing.

703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of your first contact with BTC? on: June 02, 2021, 10:56:58 PM
I regret not buying more... Though, at the time it just didn't seem like it would turn into what it is today.

It was also a different concept and when new things come along many people are not sure how to react. I remember thinking that not many people would want to buy this coin - and how wrong I was.

Anyways, the growth that BTC has seen itself and the ripple effect into what we know today as the crypto world has been massive, and I think with more institutional effort this is just the beginning.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ICO the best way to invest in cryptocurrency? on: June 02, 2021, 09:53:16 PM
Is ICO/IEO/ITO the best way to invest in cryptocurrency now?
ICO, IEO, ITO, IDO, they are same but adapts with a new name for a new trend. The basic instinct of those crowdfunding is similar, only different on name and the way the market calls it.
It is the trend right now, and while this is the case getting anywhere near these projects is quite exclusive. However, if you can get into any one of these projects, then that's great since you'll probably have a high chance to make profit on your money. So yeah, ICOs, IEOs, IDOs are hot but super exclusive too.
705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What online betting company you know gave you a b'day present? on: June 02, 2021, 08:42:12 PM
Never got from a casino as a birthday present, and never heard of a casino doing that, good for you to get that twice on a gambling website whose reputation is not very good but your experience there doesn't have any problems.
I think betting websites that give birthday prizes will definitely be based on wager the player has and that is done to keep the player gambling on their platform.
Yeah, me also. I never got any birthday present from casino and never heard about it, only know it from this forum. I feel jealous I wish I could get one too. May I know how and maybe I can try? I think betting websites that give birthday prizes is a great marketing strategy. By that people will be interested playing and once they are there they would stay because for them to claim their birthday present.
Hmm, never heard that before not from a betting site at least that is. Having birthday presents sent to loyal customers could make for a nice treat since everybody enjoys the surprise and who doesn't like getting free stuff.

But people again could abuse the system, though there are strategies that can be put in place to prevent this like no to multi-accounting etc.

Overall, it would be a nice gesture but I don't know if these casinos see value to pursue it, although it would help strengthen that business-customer connection.
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Doge and coindbase on: June 02, 2021, 04:26:32 PM
Though I doubt it, DOGE is pretty much pumped and dumped to hell that $1 is not impossible. With that said, why are you even trading if you can't come up with your own decisions though? It  may or may not reach $1 following the Coinbase main listing. Think for yourself: is a 140% pump possible from the Coinbase listing alone?
I agree, Doge has already gone through many pumps and dumps and everyone holding Doge should know this. Having had this cycle though even if it gets listed on Coinbase the most it can do is another similar pump and then dump as before. There will not be a case of it being sustained nowhere near $1.
707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla Competitor to Launch First Electric Car That Mines Bitcoin and Dogecoin on: June 02, 2021, 03:57:26 PM
I stumbled upon this news couple of weeks back. While it's ok for a marketing gimmick and may appeal to some crypto miners in this process, but is it really practical? Electric cars are already under heavy fire from the consumers due to its short range and limited usability. Now if an electric car start mining while parked, it will drain out the battery and reduce the range even further.

For a marketing gimmick it's ok but not practical, I must say!
I agree with you. While to some it may sound exciting, in actual fact, having electric cars which of course use electricity to mine is no solution to the rising problem of energy consumption on the back of crypto. Even if you do mine, the battery of the car will get damaged and who'll want to do that.

I think this is another example of how people are putting together 'words' which they think sound cool but have no practicality whatsoever.
708  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | 8 Years of Dicing | 90 Billion Bets | 113 BTC Jackpot! on: June 01, 2021, 10:22:23 PM
Indeed this is really commendable to survive continuous 8 years and still running very strong. Because in these years many sites have come and were doing pretty well but due to whatever reason has closed after working for couple of years or more or less. So in that way 8 years is a long time. More success to users and site.

It is a proof that Primedice is very serious in their own busines, although the competition among online casinos is getting tougher but Primedice is able to survive till now.
8 years is not a short period of time for a gambling project, I have seen many sites stopped their business after few years only but 8 years is absolutely awesome.
Even though it is a bit late, but I wanna say Happy 8th anniversary to Primedice, you are simply amazing. thumbs up.
I believe this has mainly got to do with the fact that this casino was among the first if not the first crypto dice site. Their hard work and community engagement brought them to today but as the competition grows there sure is a lot of effort to maintain the popularity. So far, this place as far as I've seen remained in the hearts of many. Still, a great achievement but still a lot more to go.
709  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whales selling and retail buying on: June 01, 2021, 09:34:41 PM
Well, having seen how the market moved for the past few weeks is no surprise to me that whales are creating such a 'coordinated' market move to sway the market up and down thus favouring their actions. This is something I pointed to a while back (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5338628.msg57047882#msg57047882).

As for the small gainers it could just be FOMO individuals who buy in as little as they can. Perhaps, retailers but I don't see much evidence for that. Either way what's clear is that the landscape is changing and a smart investor will prepare for whats to come.

710  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Casino & Sports - UFC Official Betting Partner - Play Smarter 🥊 on: June 01, 2021, 08:57:37 PM
-snip-
What's the point you have multiple accounts with different rank Grin they need to cost a thousand hundred dollars to reach Platinum rank and Rakeback, reload, weekly and monthly is based a wager so If they did not wager they do not receive anything.

Unlesh like "Deposit" offer you abused with multiple account, but for bonus turnover there is no point at all.
You're making a fair point and in general this level of multi-accounting won't work but there are a few individuals who live for gambling and so pour all their money in on it.

Having multiple accounts will help them reap the benefits of playing non-stop and getting some reward in return. There might also be the case that people lend their KYC account to others. So, while for most multiple VIP accounts don't mean much it can mean a lot to a few.
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This dip is PROOF that "I wish I would've bought Bitcoin at X price" is nonsense on: June 01, 2021, 06:30:32 PM
Who is that one man that you are talking about though? Well, if you had bought bitcoin when it was around 1$, you are definitely rich by now. Also, there's nothing wrong with people wishing what they could've done in the past, it's called hindsight.
Agreed. At least by looking into the past people can learn some lessons and hopefully will help them be in a better place someday.

For instance, if BTC drops to some unexpected value of say 20K zone then those people who were once wishing they could buy in then will have their chances while others with no wishing at all will wait for lower dips before buying in but there can only be a certain amount of discount.

The point being that if you see a chance grab it because one day it will pay off.
712  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: holding is not an easy thing on: June 01, 2021, 03:26:30 PM
Dont holding for daily needs but for longterm investment.
Well, you really can't hold if your plan is just to use it for your daily needs. The perfect strategy when you're holding is to put that money into no use but as an investment, we both agree about it as long term and you won't going to use that until it has made profit.
Well, holding goes hand in hand with long term. You can't rely on an investment to do well within a few weeks you need to give it time to end up with a chunky profit.

And sure, this depends on when you entered the market but it is safe to say that any investment should be one you will be OK to lose if things don't go your way. You can't use crypto as a way to get your day to day needs. This is not sustainable.
713  Other / Archival / Re: The community created a petition: Elon Musk, sell your bitcoin on: June 01, 2021, 12:55:23 PM
Unfortunately, this person still has and will obviously have a great influence on the masses of people who will believe his words and the ideas that he broadcasts.
Unless this petition gets hundreds of thousands of signatures there will be little impact. The guy is huge, and his success and connections will make all of this look like nothing.

Don't get me wrong it is great to see such unity among the crypto holders but is just that we need to come up with a massive splash that nobody can't ignore. I'm talking about great media attention, and an ongoing rally, this can't be a one of thing. This is the only way this has a way to penetrate and make an impact.
714  Economy / Gambling / Re: CSGOPolygon.com BTC and CS:GO gambling site on: June 01, 2021, 12:13:38 AM
Welcome to Bitcointalk CSGOPolygon.com!
How old is your online casino running?
So after a quick search I found that this website was registered in 2016 and updated on 2020. So this makes the casino up and running for at least 1 year give or take.

Do you allow the use of VPN for the use of accessing game not available to the region?
This is an interesting question... Personally, there are not many casinos that enable VPNs but that does not mean there is not a market for this. I suppose getting the licence in this case would be more tricky to get.
715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The next 100x coin after bnb and after eth on: May 31, 2021, 11:34:09 PM
What is the next 100x coin that you would like to bet as little as $10 and gain as much as $1000?
Don’t tell me there isn’t anything that can make you filthy rich, you just need to look deeper.
Do you think DeFi or NFT would be next 100x?
Seeking general opinion can be sometimes confusing and misleading. And also it is not always easy to make x100 .
I will not mention coins for you, but i will give you some clues that will help you make nice investment.
1. You can follow trend to know coins that influencers are interested on, it move.
2. Pay attention to the chain on which it is listed eg BSC,Eth etc
The two points highlighted above are both valid. If I was to add to those I'd say that project performance is also a factor determined by the early investors, who the adopters are, if the team already has a working product in place, what the tokenomics look like etc.

These factors altogether should help any investor make an informed decision about which markets are going to move or remain stagnant.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Gas Fees Drop on: May 31, 2021, 07:10:28 PM
The drop of gas fees might be the reason why Ethereum is sustaining from $1800 to $2600.

That's a good news for us and those who have been problematic with the fee can now set their fees lower. I've done my transaction already and it's good to see that I didn't rushed to do my transaction.

And waited until the network settles the fees and sets it lower.
Yup, agree with the fees being so much lower the transactions on ETH are much higher. The fees have made it such that normal people can transact without having to spend hundreds in fees.

Nevertheless, the situation still calls for a much faster need to speed up the improvements on the blockchain. We need ETH v2.0 as scalability on the network is posing a huge problem.
717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't believe in digital money? Well... on: May 31, 2021, 04:55:36 PM
-Digital books and kindles replaced library books

-Regular mail was replaced by email

-Previously, we took actual photos; now we take digital photos

-Digital music replaced cassettes and CDs.

-We switched to direct deposit from cash or checks.

How often do you actually have cash? It's rare that I do! The next item on this list is money.

Then... Buy Bitcoins.
In all these examples there is evidence of how the digital version has taken over the previous paper version and how all of these paper-based companies have disappeared.

I agree that money is yet another of these much needed transitions. Crypto seems like a logical option but who knows maybe there could be something else not yet developed... In any case a change to the financial system is but inevitable
718  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Scalping even viable in Cryptocurrencies? on: May 30, 2021, 09:27:34 PM
Of course, scalping is highly possible. Even from your description in the OP, you're already doing it. So, why do you still doubt it? I trade but I'm more of a swinger. The issue you're going to have with scalping is that you will constantly have to be on your app or system monitoring trades.
Similar to other trading strategies scalping requires you to be on it 24/7. The more time you spend researching, putting your trades in and getting them out at the right time the higher the chance of minimising risk and increasing your rewards.

Scalping is both valuable and applicable to crypto, it is just a matter of finding a platform (Binance usually works well) and getting going. It is a little more stressful but it can be done.
719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin volatility on weekends on: May 30, 2021, 06:32:14 PM
It has been said that Bitcoin is more volatile on weekends usually because there is low volume which can be easily manipulated by the whales.

Also it is observed that bitcoin usually dump on weekends and not pump.
It is not always the case. For instance, today the BTC market has shown positivity with a recovery and possibly another spike towards 40K. While this may seem like a one off there isn't so much of a trend not even on weekends because to make money on something that you know it works you just don't stop because it is weekend.

This is my logic anyways, and as far as I've seen the crypto markets are moving quite aggressively even on weekends.
720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most of your coins are going to be worthless in years. on: May 29, 2021, 11:42:45 AM
It's obvious that some coins with no value but only hype behind them won't be around in a few months. This is something that's far from new. You can look at the last bull run and see that only the coins with value and big budget were still around and even popped off during this bull run.

Without much of a prediction it is safe to say that all the meme coins will die along with most others.
