The picture posted above is an evaluation board or development board for developers, not for end user. There was a press conference last week in Beijing, where participants can buy those boards and chips. And those boards are delivered to developers in other part of China this week. There is no detail information of miners for end user by now. The only info for USB miner is that one USB miner is equipped with 4 or 5 chips, depending on the temperature and cooling design. And USB miner is powered externally with an additional power cable. That's all the info I know by now. I will let all of you know when new info is published. I'm Chinese, and I'll do the translator job for all of you don't understand Chinese. Hope my translation is better than Google's. BTW, I brought two development boards and they should be delivered to me in one or two days. I'll post my experience after some testing. Super! Can you share with us what was the cost of dev boards? Thank you At the press conference, the dev board is 500CNY each, and 400CNY for one chip only. It's ~82USD each dev board, and ~65USD each chip. You can check chip's datasheet here: https://github.com/gridseed/gc3355-doc and calculate its $/GHash Personally, I hope the miner's price will be much lower than $65/chip. But there are still many people think the price will remain the same. Thank you Unfortunately 65 USD/chip for mass production is not a deal for me. Let us hope that they will lower the price when time comes. Best

Meh. Time to start learning Mandarin. Maybe eventually I'll be able to do better translations than google translate ;/.
Start with traditional it is much more easy. At least people say so.

Hey, Saying our means that you are local right? Or at least you do understand Chinese better than us. Is there any info available about bulk chip prices out there? Thank you

Hi All, ---------------- Help Required ---------
I got my TP link router today, Flashed it with the Firmware from TechnoBit (0.1.0) configred everything as stated, SShed in to the thing, screen R and it is giving me a message about unable to to get the voltage settings (they are configured in the webpage) so i stop that process and start up CGminer normally and it detects the hardware but not hashing
cgminer version 3.8.3 - Started: [2013-12-14 14:22:50] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (5s):0.000 (avg):0.000h/s | A:0 R:0 HW:0 WU:0.0/m ST: 2 SS: 0 NB: 1 LW: 96 GF: 0 RF: 0 Connected to eu-stratum.btcguild.com diff 2 with stratum as Block: df06e698... What does it mean failure disabling? Is this indicating a hardware issue? The miner is plugged directly in to the TP. Power by molex off a PC
I got a second miner I not opened, maybe I should try that one
Sidenote:Thank you Zich for posting on my behalf yesterday
Hey check your molex, PSU and use multimeter to see if it is giving 12V. In order for psu to start without PC you have to short green and black wires on 24pin motherboard connector. In your case just turn on the PC This usually happens when there is a problem with 12V power ---------------------- I got my TP link router today, Flashed it with the Firmware from TechnoBit (0.1.0) configred everything as stated, SShed in to the thing, screen R and it is giving me a message about unable to to get the voltage settings --------------------------------- Not normal hit sav+apply on web page it will solve this issue i guess it is ok already PS: Same issue just a couple of posts above yours https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=307897.msg3958562#msg3958562

as i said up to 10 Boards on single tp-link work without performance lost Verified and tested I wasn't talking about performance, but about reliability. A PC should fail less often and e easier/faster to fix when it does fail. Then again, I dislike throwing things away, so I would rather use the old PC than buy the router and later have to repair it if it breaks. Also, to use that PC I did not have to go to the store or order it and wait a few days for delivery. I do not know how good/bad the flash memory inside the thing is, but I suspect that if it is used as designed (as a router), it does not write to the memory very often. OTOH, if you flash Linux to it and it happens to run out of RAM, it will swap and do lots of writes to the flash (or just start killing processes/crash if there is not enough memory available and swap is disabled) which could cause the flash memory to fail early. Also, if it gets corrupted, you can't boot from a CD and run fsck on it. Dude, I used to think same way. But i have changed 1 Year+ not a single problem with tp-link if things are done right with proper software Besides as long as it is cheap you can buy one for hotswap and you did not event need to run fsck anymore I have about 20 Tplinks and for a year now not a single problem.

Hey, Just buy a tplink from local store plug it and forget 200W electricity savings from laptop And a good sleep at night Or you could buy a raspberry Pi (though for some reason it gets lower hashrate with my BFL Single than even the 233MHz PC), or just use a PC you have for free. The TP-Link uses unknown quality flash memory as its main storage - hat could fail due to writing (let's say I want to do monitoring or whatever or it just is writing logs) and there also would be a problem if the router failed to boot (let's say the file system got corrupted due to power failure). OTOH, the raspberry can be use with high quality memory and you can connect a keyboard/TV to it to access the console if you can't get to it over the network for any reason. An actual PC is even better as it uses a hard drive (or a high quality SSD) that would be more reliable than the flash memory inside a router. You can also get a PC very cheap or even free and maybe even downclock it to save power. This is my opinion and the reason I use a PC for control. Then again - I have a Single and 3x HEX16B with total power consumption of about 500W, the 50W or so the PC uses is not much compared to the miners. If I had a single HEX16B (and no Single), I would probably just connect it to one of my other servers or use a Pi or even the router. as i said up to 10 Boards on single tp-link work without performance lost Verified and tested

Got my 2 units today.
Tested both, on desktop and the pi. Running one at the moment because i have only 1 USB cable. Works like a charm.
Nice

Success 39.7Ghps!
Why doesn't it like my Orico P10-U2-BK USB Hub? What make/model are you guys using?
Maybe it's because it's a top notch USB hub which has surge protection?
I noticed the Hex16B was sending power back down the hub from the PC PSU!
I didn't need to power the hub to get the TP-Link powered. Is that normal?
According to marto Yes It does not hurts. But i am not good with wires do not count on my opinion After 2-3 hours you should be making 44GH stable just give the broad some time to level Look at the api stats for actual rate I am mining at bitminter also and most probably you are minig at diff 16 or 32 which can give you variation in bitminter hash rate +-15% sometimes more depending on luck. The actual number og Ghs 100% correct will be seen in api-log. More over due to current implementation your HW errors will be always 0 they are not counted

Thanks ditching DHCP and manually setting the IPv4 works. I can see the interface now.
Gratz OK had it mining over an hour now, damn that fan's noisy, and nothing is happening at Bitminter, 0.0Ghps. Can someone help me diagnose what's wrong please. I can ping it ok and it's got an address on my network, has my router as Gateway and DNS and 8.8.8.8 (Google). Router diagnostics all pass okay. It's like the it's not talking to the miner or the pool? Remove the hub if you use any And/OR check USB hub cabling especially uplink 2. Connect the board to the router DIRECTLY and try again 3. ssh to router and post lsusb output

Have you tried them one buy one just to make sure one of them not working If no i suggest to try them one by one in same conditions even not changing port of the hub
Yes, i try it. on the same port the broken not working and other one work. Unfortunately i think we will not be able to help you. It seems that this one is not OK ... PS: If someone can tell you how to program them and if or you find FW for pic it can solve your problem. But i do not know much about it

@marto74 why you reply only to people that accuse you to scam or people that use strong word for you?
i understand that you are very busy to maintein your agreements but i write to you in all possible way (mail, private message and then forum thread) and with patience i'm waiting your reply, but you are ignoring me.
i paid, but i have received some hardware BROKEN, i don't ask a refund for the moment, i only ask if there are something to do to make it functional.for a lot of day i can't use something that i have payd because you don't reply and you don't support your customers
Hey, Will you share here with us what is broken? It may turn out that we can help? 10X Yeah maybe some high quality picture, Or output from Nanos ? If yoes i am counting on you Zich Yup, nanofury yes we are talking about nanofury, tank you for try to help me. i received 3 nanofury, i try it on 2 pc, 1 with win 7 32bit and bfgminer 3.8 and 1 with ubuntu 10.04 64 bit and bfgminer 3.8. on both pc when i attach the 3 nanofury on win device manager i see all as HID device and on linux with lsusb -t i see all 3 as microchip device, but when i start bfgminer only 2 nanofury work, the third not appear in the list and when i add device from bfgminer while mining it say no device found. I start bfgminer with -S all and setting osc bit 50 i use a Dlink DUB-H7 powered hub, i try all device connected, i try only two and only the broken to exclude power source problem but same result, 2 working and 1 not working, led remain off now i can't post output of bfgminer -D because i have only the linux pc and bfgminer say segmentation fault when start with nanofury connected, i post it as soon as possible. this evening i also post high quality picture.i compare the broken with the other one and i don't see solder problem or components broken, but i don't have expert eye Have you tried them one buy one just to make sure one of them not working If no i suggest to try them one by one in same conditions even not changing port of the hub

Has anyone found any limit to the number of Hex16b you can USB to the TL-MR3020 router?
Unlimited I am joking from a point on i think performance will suffer But most probably 9-15 will be ok. If you happen to see performance lost just buy second tplink or use Linux PC in that case
|
|
|
I finally got my order! I see a lot of default entry's in the tplink configuration of cgminer, is there any manual on how to safely overclock it?
It is overclocked already to safest value. Check voltage to be 900 and clock 540. Do not go above 540 clock it is not working. Try voltage if you feel brave
|
|
|
It finally compiled and works now. And my single CPU control PC is at load 2.5. I will build a faster PC for this (just replaced bad caps on the motherboard) and it should work great. I will try overclocking.
How do I specify to cgminer that it should not use the bfl device? I could then run bfgminer for the Single.
As i sad ./autogen.sh --enable-heminerb Only. you will see BFL disabled in the summary Enable only what you need. About CPU usage - I have seen Tplink Cpu at load 45% with 10 HEXA boards....can you post top output? you will see what is loading your cpu but if cgminer was compiled for HEX boards only it shall load 2-5% you cpu assuming you do have one board only

who allowed you to post this here?
do you think i don t know how to post it?
you ll be removed from the docs access.
i have requested the mod to remove this and i m asking you remove this now
thanks for your participation
Sorry but you're asking for 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS from us. Of course people want to see those pictures. Also I don't remember it saying anywhere not to post them? How about a video of cgminer hashing away? That will be a killer 1.5 Mill video the most expensive one probably he has to invite Keanu Reeves for some Matrix Action
