So Ripple for shitcoins.

I like it.

i do not know how ripple works.

actually, after I realized newbie interest, i decided to make mining possible right of the bat. All i want to know is are people comfortable with the buy-in scheme for old coins. Since i do not own a escrow service it will have to be manually done via thread.... which tiresome as it is, i will do.
Ripple is literally this but with fiat currency and BTC.

Manual buy ins sound terrible, fix that ASAP.

I'd also rather not mine.

Manual buy in is terrible, but buy in is one of the promises i made about this coin. I'm not happy about the manual part because it means more work for me. I've tried contacting most escrows but either they are uninterested or they want more than i can safely provide. My ideas are open ideas, for community use, development and benefit. If you can help find two escrow services willing to assist, that would be great.

it's mine or buy in. Every coin is worthless until us as a community give it value.

News Update

In breaking news....Neocoin is broken and the Alt-coin War is spreading. Comoscoin has Declared war on Neocoin via thread, here we have a quote.

fucking this coin, claimed to be the most innovative coin, just cheat us.

We can see in the getinfo function, money supply is more than 1 million, where is the money, fuck.

Everyone, please go to CosmosCoin, really fair start coin without any premine.

Another concerned citizen has called out the dev of Neocoin by quoting him directly...
"After several tests, mining pools won't be necessary because the difficulty is very low and this might be a problem. A special version for miners will be launched, there are many people who want to mine but who don't know how to do it. Everything will be automatic."

Would you mind sharing some source code/command line parameters of these "several tests" so we can get something working?

Dear All,

The Neocoin client will be (really) released on Saturday, 27 July 1:00 a.m. (GMT + 0:00)
You can check the GMT time here:
http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

The binaries will be available on our website:
http://neocoin.org

The source code will be available on github:
https://github.com/neocoin-project/neocoin

Features/Specifications:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=262114.0

After several tests, mining pools won't be necessary because the difficulty is very low and this might be a problem. A special version for miners will be launched, there are many people who want to mine but who don't know how to do it. Everything will be automatic.

We think Neocoin is actually the most innovative coin on the market. We tried to create new things by thinking and acting differently. Each detail has been tweaked to create the most exciting coin.

We hope you will enjoy Neocoin.

Thanks for your attention!

The world is watching with bated breath as the saga continues. We'll be bringing you more news as events unfold.  Grin

On a lighter note, Gamecoin has seen a slight increase in interest as today's launches seem to have fallen short of miners expectations. The HOBO crowd has grown larger with a significant rise in hashrate.
Cloudcoin has begun a massive giveaway campaign to garner miner interest by using rewards for actions, we will be watching to see if bribery works.

Many bag holders have watched their money go down the toilet as Cryptsy markets continue their downward spiral. Some have lost as much as 70% in value over the last 48 hours.

I've seen good changes here, the current dev(s) should keep it up. I hit a block just now with 300kh, smooth sailing.  Smiley

Enjoyed this report. Please do keep us updated as events unfold  Grin

happy to oblige

idk wtf GAS is sounds terrible not interested..

Neocoin is the most epic FAIL!   Awesome looking client  with failed miner and 1 accepted block per like 3-400 orphans.. on a single 6950... for about 15 minutes lol

GAMECOIN - GME - great to solo mine atm ... probably just not enough people know about it YET.. very fast.. low diff atm.. i like a coin i can solo mine with 6950's--- for now!   although no exchange..

HoboNickels?   everybody buy or mine some to show jdtmp4 some love!   if ur a hater... you have no soul!

SPOTS should go before nuggs!  vlad2vlad is a turd nugget!

i got my posts about the orphan rate deleted @ Gas. Out of speculation, i've dedicated 300kh to GME while difficulty is low, seems legit. HOBO....hmmm, i need more of those.

this is a hilarious post Smiley but your points are valid nonetheless.

I was looking forward to Neocoin, but i guess i should've known better Smiley

the disappointment is resounding.
1585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 27, 2013, 07:42:04 AM
your coin would gain interest if you focused your efforts there.

I am here, 16 hours per day.  A few days ago I pulled 48 hours straight.

This coin didn't gain traction cause what I wanted to be done couldn't be done.  Even now with the best programmers here I was told what I want would require too much work but twoBits fixed it.

So nobody wanted to mine a coin which was broken and malfunctioning from day one and which was being constantly attacked once by an 81% attack.  Why didn't the coin, die?

Also, some were so vocal that it would die the whole first week, scaring people off, and the ironic thing is that these guys were the very ones who went and copied my coin, exactly, not adding anything to it and are dong pretty good.  Almost planned or what, why copy my broken coin when there's some great coins to copy?

Nobody has her given me an answer yet to this.

i am here when i want to be, this coin died when you were dissing people. Even a broken launch can be relaunched. Cool yo heels and ask for help from reputable devs. in the end , this is starting to look like a 14yr olds facebook page. You want in on crypto....get a team of devs to do it for you and pay them. All this is risky business and speculation, only a few people have the right formula for coin launch, hype and trade, so until you get those skills, pipe down and get a crew.

Main News it's boring though, not much happened  Sad

Following yesterdays' abysmal launch Neo8 had the following to say.

Please to consider that this was a beta version, it's why the source was not available. Some miners have exploited a bug to get +50% of all coins, We can't continue to support this.

Neocoin will be relaunched without bug, fairer, without partners premine with a new website. The binaries and the source code will be really available at the same time. The starting difficulty will be higher. When the source code will be online, we won't change anymore, the genesis block will be definitive.

We won't stop this project, this coin is new (without copy/paste). We take lessons, everything was not perfect but we are convinced that Neocoin is the most advanced coin on the market and brings new things.

We will inform you as soon as possible.

Thanks for your support.

Neocoin.org

He/ "They" seem to keep repeating the  "without copy/paste" yet the Qt is reported to be version "Satoshi". We'll leave it to the readers imagination to figure out what scam *cough* is going on.

Conspiracy stories are the theme of the day apparently as fear of the US Governent continues to escalate.

What in the world makes you think BTC is decentralized ?

Ever since this..  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=6652.0 .. BTC has become a banker's cashless society wet dream.

What we have today is NOT what Mr. Nakamoto intended.

HT xD

Oh yeah, and after that the protocol was changed in a subtle way that no programmer reviewing it could actually see the change but now ALL YOUR BITCOIN ARE BELONG TO CIA. Now I see how naïve I am, thank you.

Bitcoin is decentralised exactly because even if the CIA implants an alien on Gavin so that he starts to write code making Bitcoin centralised, a decentralised fork will appear and there still will be good ol’ Bitcoin around.

They will PASS a special executive order and make a hard fork that gives all control of Bitcoin to the government. It is INEVITABLE. Then Bitcoin belongs to the government!!

But seriously, I fail to see how Bitcoin, a decentralized, pseudonymous currency is a banker's/government's wet dream, when they already have KYC, debit cards, and credit cards, which offers more tracking and raw control than Bitcoin ever could. With those, your spending can be tracked, your accounts can be frozen and even stolen from.

Financial News

The downward spiral continues as traders spread their wealth over the new altcoins on Cryptsy. Coins-e seems to be gobbling up any new coin to surface as they try to gain a foothold in the trading market place.

LTC price has been steadily dropping as miners and traders are becoming more apprehensive. The initial hype after the announcement raised the price but recent events "dumping" have seen the price lowering.

Rumors of a pre-emptive CIA dump have been floating around as the reason for bitcoin price vis a vi USD instability. This has raised more concerns from the conspiracy crowd.

Sports news

The NUG vs Spots war is getting heated as angry adopters who wasted *cough* their hash power on it retaliate.

There's been 3 exact clones of NUGGETS so far

No there hasn't.  There has been one and only one.  Since you are mentally challenged people played pranks on your by linking to threads of coins launched months (and in one case a year) before NUG saying "look another one copied you".

You do realize that posts have timestamsp and you can verify yourself that the coins which "copied you" launched before your copycat scamcoin.

BTW at current Bid the valuation of all NUGs in circulation is ~1 BTC.   99% of that is the premine and thus not earned by miners.  Quite the "miner's coin".

Users are also begining to ask questions about the promises made buy recent shitclones. The "vague" promise line has become common since the launch of the bitgem scam.

So what's this whole "related to precious metals" thing going to look like? Are you setting up an exchange site that will only trade between Spots and metals?

Special-purpose currencies have always confused me. I can understand there being some direct link with, say, silver if someone is holding on to a lot of silver and will trade for Spots at a given price. But I don't understand how that can in any way be built in to the currency without centralizing it.

I'm not trying to criticize, I have just heard a lot of vague talk—vague talk that I like the sound of, mind you. I'd just like to hear more specifics.

Weather report

Today seems cloudy, due to the recent unsuccessful launches we predict a minor storm of "copy-paste-shit-clone-rain" as "devs" try to flll the gap. This merciless bombarding that has brought wallet stealers and left bag holders is continuing....only the fit will survive this "Coinpocalypse"

Whats the current LTC rate?

Make sure scantime and expiry with cgminer (or whatever client you are mining with) are set lower than default. I use scantime 1 and expiry 30 to 40 (For some reason I feel lowering this as difficulty goes up helps) Im getting roughly a block every 30~40 minutes with 730kh/s at current difficulty. Luck changes all the time tho. Sometimes I get 3 blocks in a row, other times I wait for a couple of hours to get the next block.

my scan time is 1 and expiry is 20, i solo mine a lot so i don't think it's my settings, i finally got a block but it seems people with lower hash rates are getting ore. i'll keep trying a few more hours, if nothing works out, i'll consider just buying.
