Panic all you want we will break 15 one way or another.
15822  Economy / Speculation / Re: why dump 12k+ coins into the market at once? on: December 08, 2012, 06:00:35 AM
I have a feeling that there is 100s of people with more then 40k of bitcoins... They decided to cash out and probably had a goal to get so much. A real goal. Once they saw that goal was in sight.. Sell. The timing can be debated but i am not sure relevant.

Well, there can currently be a maximum of 263 people with 40k bitcoins. I'm not a betting man, but if I was I would bet the amount is actually a small percentage of that. Do you really believe that out of a maximum of 263, at least 200 (which would be required for "100s") hold 40k?

put it this way. i told a bitcoin user how to restore their wallet backup of 40+K in coins and the tip was to use rescan.
i was given 100 btc for this. that is how they roll. 1000 dollars for some tech assistance that took 10 minutes. anecdotal evidence, yes,
but i KNOW they are out there. not some nerd IT person who knows bitcoin from the early time frame.. but someone who has a lot
of coins.

maybe saying hundreds was not the best way to put it. but they are out there and they have large amounts of coins.
so redo the math with 12K of coins... and it opens up the possibility of a lot of people. and they have no problem throwing them around.

bitcoin users are generous, this is why you sell every bit of coin you mine? really?

15824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to expect from Bitcoin Magazine on: December 08, 2012, 05:09:34 AM
back on topic.

Thank you!

I have always thought Bitcoin Magazine was a project worth supporting.
although I'm not much of a magazine person i did pick up the first 2 issues.

Keep up the good work!

I hand out copies regularly as as evangelism tool.

Like i say: Not a currency. A Religion.

Money is a religion.

Silly faith.

The church of bitcoin was founded on October 25th in order to grant bitcoin users a non regional spiritual outlet

15826  Economy / Speculation / why did the 12k+ coin dump not create panic? on: December 08, 2012, 04:46:23 AM
it seems every-time we have a dump, the price recovers quickly. ( its been happening all year really... )

Speculate!

15828  Economy / Speculation / Re: I forced the 10 day high last night. What do you think about that? on: December 08, 2012, 12:57:59 AM
In city of Shanghai where I live, an apartment suite of premium quality can be sold for 10 million Chinese Yuan which equivalents to US $1.6 million. If someone sells a suite of this kind (there are at least a couple thousands of them) and uses the money to invest into bitcoin, he can get 118+ thousands BTCs and thus enters into the World Top 10 Fortune List of Bitcoin.   Smiley

A buy of $1.6 million would only get you BTC86810.

It depends on how you do it. If you find a seller (or several sellers) with enough bitcoins then you could do it all otc for the current rate. If you try to do it o mt gox, you might not even get that many if people are able to pull their asks quick enough.

I Seriously doubt there is 1.6 million $ worth of BTC depth at current price on OTC, I doubt there is even 1/10th the depth that mtgox offers....

If you buy it slowly (6 months / ~555 coins a day) on Gox, you should be able to buy all your coins without pushing the price up that much...

Gold line called me again, i told them not to call me anymore last time....

"protect your money!" she says

I told her that IT'S OVER: Goldman Calls The End Of The Great Gold Bull Market

she said " Oh that's probably just a prank"

i loled and told her i had to go.

F'ing gold telemarketers, no wonder gold is in a bubble....
15835  Economy / Speculation / Re: why dump 12k+ coins into the market at once? on: December 07, 2012, 05:21:05 PM
it wasnt random wtf sell.

15k sold right before daily candle close.

ya i noticed that too, he was trying to paint an ugly daily candle.
once again proving, that someone was trying to scare everyone into dumping.

15838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: December 07, 2012, 03:59:04 AM
now there's 2 large orders on virtex at 13.28!  Shocked

and MtGox is recovering fast.
15839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: December 07, 2012, 03:35:43 AM

Canadians are more bullish then ever

There are bitbulls in Canada, I count myself among them; however the combination of very cold winters and relatively cheap electricity makes Canada prime for territory bitcoin mining. The result polar bears in Virtex.

Virtex trading above Gox is an anomaly. So I expect the the wall at CAD 13.20 to get demolished by the polar bears, or Gox to rise back to say 13.6 USD or even both.

I agree the wall will be sold into, and that's the point, someone wants a large order filled ASAP...

Canadians are more bullish then ever

I'm sorry. There is just no evidence that Canadians exist.

Lol, we exist....
