I can't really decide on a bull/bear position. I feel there are contradictory signals.
is their any reason to be bearish at this time? nvm the stupid "signals" any reasons?

I strongly advise against trying to short! that is all.

Most programmers I know can't tie their own shoelaces. They think linearly. Don't expect them to see a hypertoroid.
Could not this be applied to most people ? Exactly. Programmers are just technicians. They are not dreamers. Dreamers are the people that shed their blood for the betterment of humanity. I think Satoshi would disagree with you.

Patience, most men are inherently stupi in their decisions, if they happen to break up when you are still single, then be a friend when shes looking for a friend. "the friend zone" is not where you want to be. 1) avoid her 2) when your with her, act like you would rather be somewhere else. 3) when she breaks up with her BF, wait till you "accidentally" run into her 4) ask her lots of questions about herself. 5) invite yourself to her place 6) As she shows you her scrap book, kiss her! lol you really should just find a single girl.... you could skip the first 3 steps.

Looks good, Ask side is growing, while bids seem to have not changed. Its like the bears are tired of waiting and want to be bought out ASAP. A dump at this point would mean a gr8 buying opportunity, but it simply wont happen. Stable period could last longer then i thought...

its to bad we cant buy Linux stocks....

Is this going to require a lot of code to implement in C? I can probably do it, but I really don't want to bother if it's going to be a lot of code.
ya its not trivial, a days work to rewrite it in C, only to find out it would take 18years I think Mike will need to give hints but lets just wait and see.

The algorithm that needs to be accelerated to make this work is scrypt
I'm thinking scrypt cannot be accelerated enough, its deigned to take time, this is what makes it strong. I'm no expert, this is the conclusion i came to after a few mins of poking around. scrypt is no joke.

hmm, where do I go to write the loops? This is my first application of programming outside school.
There's no point in writing the loop in C#, as someone already pointed out, using C#, it would take 36 years to crack. You have to rewrite the entire decryption algorithm, in another language, that has a fast scrypt implementation. But if you want to try, the loop should be written in btnPrivWIFToHex_Click method, which is in Form1.cs I have a funny feeling scrypt will be slow no matter what the language The algorithm was specifically designed to make it costly to perform large scale custom hardware attacks by requiring large amounts of memory good luck

well, i wasted some time on the problem can't find a C++ version of the SCrypt, so i gave up BTW the password is not "MikeC"

"It's quiet, too quiet. Especially after everyone predicted a major rocket."
Everyone? No. I didn't, because I don't see any reason for the price to 'rocket' upwards right now. If anything there may be pressure for the price to drop as people eventually receive ASIC orders and need to pay off their new hardware.
people who bought ASICs paid in full, and have been living without this money for months, i really do not understand why so many people think miner will cash out like crazy once they start mining on ASICs.
the way i see it, miner feel unsure if they will be as profitable as they are now when ASICs come out, add to that bitcoin price holding higher then its ever been before, so if anything they are selling for a profit now. Maybe because they thought they would be delivered in October and counted on them being on time so they are in need of the capital they blew on a product that does not exist. People have bills and lives to live. Loaning BFL large sums of money could do that to anyone. People will sell once they mine. I assure you this is the case. But they are mining now, why wait for ASICs to come out, why not just sell some now? Perhaps they dont have as much to sell anymore and used the bulk of it to preorder ASICs. That would be one big reason. Some people here are very irrational when it comes to investing. Just throw caution to the wind and buy ASICS. like this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJrlTK2R4Sowhat ASICs will do is spread the wealth, a wave of new miners will use this ASIC switch to jump in the mining game. new miner will NEED to get a nice big stash b4 they start selling.

Hoarding has kept the price high. Not new investors. New investors hoard. LOL okay please entertain me with your theory. How does this work and what proof do you have that this IS the case? I am a new investor, and I hoard. I know someone else who just learned about bitcoin who is starting to hoard. ya, and this guy too : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJrlTK2R4So

Just the usual weekend slump?
1% rise fallowed by a 1% drop, I call that stable. Wasn't arguing against it being stable, just pondering if this 1% drop would have happened if it were not Saturday. I believe theirs enough $ on Gox to send us sky high at any moment... news like " Government of XYZ in the process of abandoning their $ in favor of BTC " will result in an sudden spike to 30 with a 3 million dollar wall at 20 weekend dips are a thing of the past. hubba hubba once it becomes a 'thing' that people are aware of people prepare to buy at the same time for lower prices then it's no longer a 'thing' I think the only reason there every was weekend dips is because people speculated that a lack of money flowing in on the weekend would mean prices would drop. so they sold, and lo and behold prices went down on the weekends... So you think everyone has stopped doing this? ya they got burnt a few weekend in a row, now the weekend dip thread doesn't even pop up anymore.

I firmly believe a site should do only one thing and do it well, rather then do 10 things in a half ass manner. so i suggest you add a lot more polls. I really like that you now have a graph displaying the poll results, a lthough I'm not sure this is the best way to represent this poll, maybe a pie graph? nvm i just got it, very nice this site has gr8 potential and could become something all speculators watch. keep up the good work
