Guys, I won't be around much today since I need to take some personal time out but I want to give you a little side note. I've been seeing some people complaining about price/dumping in bittrex/polo. This is NORMAL and I thought about this when I made the decision to go x11 with such a short PoW mining span. The dumping will happen this week and won't happen anymore, multipools will stop bothering us and price will start to rise since there won't be anyone who doesn't believe in the coin dumping PIGGY for quick profit... I don't want to make any price predictions since market prediction is not my strong suit but I can guarantee you that the dumping that is stopping the price from going up that is happening now will stop, this is just a phase we are going through (1/4 of it is done). Don't forget that we will also have a multipool ready as soon as we leave the PoW phase (that will be a big help in raising the price). We are not like other coins where you have to wait for a "multipool announcement", our multipool was announced before we even went PoS (with the change already in mind ofc). We will also keep delivering updates to the wallet with the help of our friend flubber, our gratefulness and gratitude for his work can't be enough. Right - 2 hours? More like 5 hours so far... Neither the old address CoinKing displayed to send OLD PIG to can be found in the blockchain explorer or my NEW PIGGY address from my NEW PIGGY wallet. Looks like my PIGs are flying somewhere but not in either of my wallets... How many confirmations so far in the old blockchain? (FiniteRed - TY also) PIGGY New: pt13yVBxvPtKjsqJnKKYke1YYALqNbP4VB COINKING deposit address: 7FEo5WBJwnUUz28atBUHkBFxiY4YiHrwQd hmm the deposit address has not been seen on he block chain apparently, what's your old wallet address?

hmm so what is keeping the old block chain running? Are people still mining it? and will there be a point where you can no longer mine it / use the CoinKing service to change old PIG into new PIGGY?? See also my previous post: The old blockchain is still being mined, and will continue to give block rewards until block 62500; after that block, it will still be mineable, but will give no block rewards. The block times are generally longer than 1 minute, as the difficulty hasn't yet fully adjusted to the reduced hashrate now that everybody is mining X11 PIGGY rather than Scrypt PIG.
The original date mentioned for block 62500 would have been an estimate based on the average block time. But piggydev decided to launch X11 PIGGY at a fixed time rather than when the old blockchain hit block 62500; I think it was the right decision.
Having the old blockchain moving is important as it allows everyone to exchange their PIG for PIGGY at the coinking site.
The old chain will always be mineable, but with zero rewards. Coinking are presumably going to switch off the exchange feature at some point, but I'm sure we'll get plenty of notice. Best to exchange your coins sooner rather than later. Excellent thanks for the info

Wouldn't it be nice to get a new article (current position cgb is in and it's 1 years anniversary) on yahoo finance or an similar place. I think this would give cgb a lot of positive attention just like in nov/dec last year...
+1

Mark Zuckerberg is calling...

Let’s explore the psychology of the miner and the investor. The miner wants to create a new coin with high initial reward so they can reap it all and sell for a quick buck. The investor sees this activity as a ponzi type scheme where new capital must flow to match the mining dump just to prevent the unit price from collapsing. If a currency is just beginning, it's hardly worth putting any capital in at all. Doing the math and you will see that your investment is inflating away at an alarming rate while the miners dump for profit. Some people think that miners will hold on to valuable new coins but this is not true because mining implies a lower value of each new coin and the first miner to sell realizes the highest price. A miner who waits is hoping that boatloads of cash come sailing in from somewhere. Smart investors don't want to touch that unless it’s a truly revolutionary crypto-currency which would bring such a cash flow. Interesting, I would class myself as a ' minvestor' speculative mining (at cost) as I believe CGB has enormous potential.

omg, just seen the price - this is amazing, deal of the frik'en century! I might even make it into the 1k club at this rate who are these dumping people

Dev are we gonna be able to change our old coins (scrypt) for new ones (x11) or how this is going to work.??
Good question.

Hey Franko! - I have a (whopping) grand total of 36 of your wonderful coins - what we got on the horizon? Should I... buy more

If you can see from the updated Extremecoin website, I am working on Version 1.6 of EXC.
Remember though that this will bring Extremecoin, code wise to how it was supposed to be, as per the old Dev's release details.
This means blocks are going to be found fast again, not sure how that will effect the EXC price but with blocks flowing again, it should get added to CoinWarz again and maybe a few exchanges might pick it up.
Once the client release is out and running smooth, then I will start to market Extremecoin and see how community members respond.
Excellent - thanks for the update

Right then. I have stocked up on some delishious MEC ahead of Kimoto's new project announcement and Birthday celebrations tomorrow Bring it oooon.

|
|
As of now the EXC wallet 1.5 is stuck at block 45026. We'll see if it moves again.
Same here, waiting for 19 days now Come on Omega6, get the fix published - this coin is going nowhere until you do

IDK, but i hold about 4K of MEC!
4k? Nice holdings, let's just say you will be very glad you did

Hi everyone, does anyone know where the address for MtGox's non-virtual office is in Tokyo?
The place that the protesters stood outside of just before they went dark?
Cheers if anyone can help

Nice post, really! any update or news?
+1 Need to get a new version of the EXC wallet released that works correctly.

I think a child will be able to relate to 'savings earning interest' far more readily than the concept of cracking blocks through solving complex cryptographic hash functions. In about 6 to 12 months the PoW landscape will be quite different; we will be in a situation where mining requires ASICs, expensive specialist devices that are far beyond the reach of children leaning about crypto currencies. I would consider a hybrid PoW* and PoSV system - with the PoSV system generating more coins than the PoW. It would make PoW intentionally unprofitable and keep the difficulty low, allowing non-ASIC mining to continue, but more importantly teaching kids the value of saving up.
*Perhaps even harden PiggyCoin against ASIC mining by implementing X11 or one of its kin.
