161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what new coins are promising? on: August 07, 2020, 03:26:21 PM
Its quite natural that people in here will try to sell and shill their own bags to you, so approach their answers with caution. Most of my holdings from 2017 are performing quite poorly price wise, so yes, for now I would definitely stick to the newer ones that have a solid amount of hype behind them, stuff like Elrond, Chainlink, Band Protocol etc. When it comes to my personal favorites, I would give a shout out to Reserve Rights, Ferrum Network and Geeq.

163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi - Which coins have the best fundamentals and still have huge potential? on: August 03, 2020, 08:36:19 AM
I would say that right now PlutusDefi is quite undervalued, mostly because of FUD that has been created as a consequence of their recent shaky token sale. When it comes to upcoming DeFi projects, no one really knows how those will perform price wise, but there is a number of them that will be listing with sub 1 million MC, so I would include those in the "good investing opportunity" category. Projects like DeFiPie and Geeq (more of an infrastructure for DeFi) are first two that pops to my mind.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you still hodling that shitcoin? on: August 03, 2020, 08:30:18 AM
My ETH wallets are filled with tokens of failed 2017 projects, keeping them is definitely a better option than to send them to some random empty wallet and get rid of them. There is still a tiny chance that those tokens will be worth something in the future, if not as a consequence of the re-animation of the project, then maybe as being part of some pump and dump scheme. So if you are not bothered with how "messy" your wallet is, why get rid of them...
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't get robbed by something you don't fully understand on: August 03, 2020, 08:22:02 AM
I remember this being a trend 2 or 3 years ago, you could see new ANN threads opening constantly, claiming the same thing, their tokens being backed by gold. I am pretty sure that most people ignored those kind of projects, but I assume some newcomers in the crypto space sadly stepped on this mine and loose a bunch of money as a consequence.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: should i invest to this project ? on: August 03, 2020, 08:15:38 AM
A very obscure project for sure, but I have actually seen quite some hype on /biz/ about it, maybe from paid shillers or from investors that are genuinely excited about it, who knows. Its market cap is still very low so if you have any gamble money to spend, it could be a solid wild card pick, but definitely dont throw any serious money into it, its way too risky for that.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Regret always comes late, is there anyone who has experienced something similar? on: August 02, 2020, 09:20:45 AM
As some others pointed out already, be sure to create a watch-list of your holdings, either via a portfolio tracking apps like Delta, web-based portfolio trackers like Crypto Compare, or watch-list on CoinMarketCap-like services. After that, take a peek at your portfolio and its movement once a day and there is no chance that you will miss a dumping opportunity like you did with the Switch pump. Right now the market is so irrational that it would be crazy to have a nonchalant attitude towards it.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: top 6 cryptocurrency , Invest in 2020 on: August 02, 2020, 09:12:50 AM
I am not sure why did you include tether on the list of "high potential" coins of 2020. I guess you can swing trade it in moments of high volatility, but that is pretty much it. BTC and ETH are a constant, a logical choice, I am not a fan of Litecoin and Ripple tho, and that wild card Titan should not be on the list at all, it kinda diminishes the credibility of the list, better choice would be to stick to well established projects.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: August 02, 2020, 09:02:57 AM
When the real bulls come in town, you are pretty much safe holding any top 25 alts imo, but right now there are some standouts in the infrastructure space. Chainlink, ETH, Cardano, Polkadot etc. presents quite an attractive investing opportunity as their constant development and growth of their community is getting rightly more and more recognized. That being said, everyone here has their favorite "wild cards" as well, mine are RSR, 2key, 0chain, LTO etc.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing now? on: August 02, 2020, 08:28:56 AM
Nothing much, trying to ride the DeFi hype before we enter in the full blown bull market. I am still trying to figure out if this DeFi bubble is already close to bursting or if is in fact a new big thing in crypto that will last for years. If that is the case, I couldn't forgive myself missing on insane investing opportunities that are presenting themselves at the moment with all the new DeFi projects. But yea, diversification is key here as well, so I have to take risk management seriously.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DONT MARRY YOUR ALTCOIN BAGS on: August 02, 2020, 08:21:21 AM
I am pretty sure that most of the people are guilty of just doing that at one point or another, I am definitely not an exception. I am still holding bags of 2017 alts that mooned insanely in the 2017 bull, then they got absolutely reckd in the following bear market. Maybe being emotionally attacked to projects that have hurt me bad (investment wise) over the past bear years makes me a sadist, but if they are going down, I am right there with them.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bad Exchanges on: August 01, 2020, 02:30:51 PM
I am avoiding low liquidity shady exchanges as much as possible, but lately I have been forced to use a certain obscure exchange and had really shitty user experience. It is kinda understandable that their operation is not running as it should if you take into account how young their exchange is, but damn, inability of setting limit buy orders or withdrawing funds, that is just too much and it definitely leaves a strong bitter aftertaste.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BOUNTY PAYMENT MATTERS on: August 01, 2020, 02:23:30 PM
I mean, escrow is as perfect solution to secure bounty payments as it gets, but on the other hand, if a project is early in its development and did not run its token sale yet, what can stop them to simply change the contract of the token after the bounty to avoid paying bounty participants. It would definitely damage their reputation, but if their intention from the beginning is to scam bounty hunters, they are screwed, escrow or not.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do we know Ampleforth is not a ponzi? on: August 01, 2020, 02:15:12 PM
I mean it definitely has characteristics of a ponzi, but at the same time it has strong backers and HQ team. Coinbase CEO is its early investor as well if I recall correctly, so maybe there is something to it and it is not a blatant PnD scheme. With daily volumes of over 100 M its definitely an attractive choice for listing on bigger exchanges, so I wouldn't be at least surprised if it lists on Binance or Coinbase in the near future, regardless the opposition of "naysayers".
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Think before joining any campaign on: August 01, 2020, 02:07:29 PM
I mean its kinda logical that a project which is already listed and at the same time running a bounty campaign is struggling with low recognition, liquidity and small community. So finding out about its lack of liquidity and demand should not be a big surprise. Bounty hunter takes on a risk, maybe the current non-existent liquidity will be much higher in the future, or not.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What old coins are you still holding? on: August 01, 2020, 01:57:25 PM
Well, the oldest one in my portfolio would probably be ETH, but now even tokens from 2017 are being considered as "old", so I guess my portfolio consist of mostly old coins and some exciting newcomers. The unfortunate thing is that most those old ones are rapidly being forgotten which reflects on their price as well, but I guess I am waiting for a potential hyper bull so I can get rid of them and swap them for something with more momentum behind it.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Antiample - An anthesis to fiat on: July 31, 2020, 02:41:45 PM
What the flying *uck, more than 20 mil daily volume on Uniswap, you must be a magician. Are people jumping the ship from AMPL to this or what kind of sorcery is this? Nevermind, I see it is getting quite a lot of traction so I assume /biz/ is all over it already, gonna join the Telegram channel and lurk to find out more.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pump DeFi projects are on fire! on: July 31, 2020, 02:27:22 PM
2017 had ICOs, 2020 has DeFi. Even projects that didn't have any direct connection to the decentralized finance sphere before the craze are now jumping on the hype train, plastering their brand with DeFi labels, "infrastructure perfect for building DeFi solutions" and similar PR stunts. But hey, maybe DeFi is really the next big thing in crypto and not some one day wonder and people who currently refuse to participate in the craze could sit out on dem massive gains.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your Biggest Crypto Regret? on: July 29, 2020, 10:45:47 AM
Holding my 2017 positions thorough the whole bear season would probably be my biggest regret, but back then I was oblivious about market cycles, so I just fell on the 100K $ BTC hype train. One of my other big regrets is not participating in the Binance ICO as I intended to, but I somewhat managed to miss the sale altogether. There are many more, like selling at ATH, but those are just the obvious ones.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why lots of people got scam easily on: July 29, 2020, 08:04:48 AM
I have sympathy for people that get scammed in different types of highly elaborate crypto fraud schemes, but I simply cannot relate to people that fall for those lazy "send 1 BTC and we will send 2 BTCs back" scam attempts. What is their cognitive process like and some of them actually own big amounts of crypto, so they should be aware of dangers and despicable opportunists that are a part of the crypto world.
