161  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-19] Bitcoin not a threat to financial stability, say European economist on: December 19, 2017, 05:29:14 PM
Why should it be a threat? Although some "dreamers", if you will, among us believe that bitcoin will eventually overthrow the current economic system and replace fiat altogether, I just think of bitcoin as an alternative investment method which spices up the financial scene; which would not threaten financial stability, but rather make it more colorful.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin.com co-founder sells all his BTC for BTC Cash on: December 19, 2017, 05:26:13 PM
I have a strong gut feeling that once LN is implemented A LOT of alts are going to get completely crushed at that point. BCASH will be one of them. People like Roger Ver are very short sighted. Bitcoin will get upgraded and once again be competitive and lots of people will cash out profits of alt coins because of this. Just stay patient fellow bitcoin HODLers. Our time will come and in a VERY big way

But when is LN going to get implemented? I haven't read any concrete information recently, and the longer it is taking to implement, the more people might lose their confidence in bitcoin. This is currently one of the biggest things that scares me about bitcoin.
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you learn from Bitcoin? on: December 19, 2017, 05:17:16 PM
Patience is the most important thing that I've learned. Not only from bitcoin but from alts as well. There are many times when the trend starts to go downward and people start to panic sell, I've learned to keep my cool in such situations, because the price has recovered eventually.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin strategies on: December 19, 2017, 05:12:54 PM
There aren't many strategies anymore, actually. Since bitcoin's price skyrocketed, there is no easy method to earn bitcoins. You can either participate in signature campaigns or do some real life jobs that pay in bitcoin. But things like faucets or any other method that promises fast and free bitcoins are not a thing anymore.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BUY BITCOIN CASH NOW on: December 18, 2017, 06:01:21 PM
After reading the post, I have the feeling it is something like dump/pump thing. If you could bring a reason why it will increase, it would be more convincing.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you find interesting ICO ? on: December 18, 2017, 05:57:24 PM
You can find an interesting project from my signature, it's called chainge! You can find the details from the link below.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: coinmarketcap december 2018? on: December 17, 2017, 09:14:48 AM
If the governments don't have a combined effort to ban out cryptocurrencies, then this is highly possible. Remember, cryptocurrencies are still not interesting to the vast majority of people. If they get on board, then we might see the market cap go through the roof.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Max Keiser: bitcoin to reach 100,000 USD on: December 17, 2017, 09:09:05 AM
What is missing here is that he said it will reach 100,000 USD, but he didn’t say when, or at least the article didn’t quote it. It’s not the same to reach 100,000 USD by the end of next year than to reach it in the following ten years.

As for the price by the end of this year I suppose it will be a bit over $20,000, maybe if it is quite bullish we will reach $25,000.

Well as long as it eventually gets to the $100K mark, for me, it doesn't matter when. Because there are two camps here, the one saying that bitcoin is a bubble and that it will burst, and the other one is that bitcoin is around to stay and the price will increase. As long as the second camp wins out, It doesn't really matter that much to me when that happens.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bittrex 0.001 btc withdraw fee -- about 19 usd on: December 17, 2017, 09:06:07 AM
I withdraw 0.3 btc from bittrex and I noticed the withdraw fee is 0.001 btc. It is about 19 usd.

the withdraw fee is expensive now.

maybe if you think that 0.001 btc is too expensive but if take a look how much money you can get from the total amount. 0.3 btc is equal $5811.435 and I think if you pay $19, it is something that you should give to support the network. many of us have objected to the high fee that we should pay but we don't think that with this fee, we are helping the network and our transaction doesn't need to waiting too long. if the fee is too high then we can think that if we want to withdraw, make sure we have bigger amount to receive so we don't have to feel bad about the fee.

It still doesn't make me feel better about paying that much. Wasn't one of the arguments for bitcoin that you can send money around the globe quickly and relatively cheaply? If the price continues to increase, does this mean we're going to have to pay $50 to send money, and not complain about it because we are "supporting the network"?
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies Price Determination on: December 16, 2017, 06:14:02 PM
The supply is certainly an indicator, but doesn't tell the whole story. If a coin's supply is huge, chances are, one coin's price will not be that much. However, instead of the supply I'd pay more attention to market cap, trade volume and overall news surrounding the coins (new partnerships, shifts in public perception, etc.).
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in EOS on: December 16, 2017, 06:05:27 PM
Of course, no one could guess what the price is going to be. I think it's not wise to ask for investment advice on this forum. All indicators are green, the coin looks promising and hopefully the price will increase; I think nobody can say anything beyond that.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how much can ripple reach by year end? on: December 16, 2017, 03:07:27 PM
I would be happy if it reached $1, it would be a fair price point despite the recent pump. A $1 ending to 2017 would allow the price to increase more freely in 2018 as well, in my opinion.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How will you invest $110 usd ? in altcoins on: December 16, 2017, 02:20:44 PM
How are you going to invest $110 usd in altocoins if that is all you have to invest.

No offense, but with that money i would prefer to go for a good lunch, $110 is not a big amount of money, and you can not do anything with them (talking about cryptos)

Just do this math, $110 are less than 0.006 bitcoins, that is nothing.

I suggest you to have fun with that money, and once that you have a good amount of money, then invest it in here.

Why wouldn't you be able to do anything with them? If you had bought $110 worth of XVG 2 days ago, today you would have had $220, doubling your money. Sure, $110 is a small amount to small with, but in the crypto world, it could grow very fast.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your asset allocations for Bitcoin versus Altcoins? PORTFOLIO on: December 16, 2017, 10:20:32 AM
I keep about 60% in bitcoin. 5% in ETH, 10% in LTC and the remaining 25% in altcoins. Since altcoins provide easier opportunities to make quick winnings, I try to keep its percentage up, whereas with the other three, I just purchase them and wait.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How should you measure profits? on: December 16, 2017, 10:09:06 AM
I measure it in fiat, I think it's the only way common investors can keep track of their investments.. I always think of it in terms of, how much fiat did I initially spend to buy coins, and how much fiat would I get if I were to cash out all my coins right now. It makes it easier for me to know where I am.
176  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-15] South African Revenue Service Has Their Eye On Your Bitcoins on: December 16, 2017, 10:06:55 AM
The title is a bit sensationalist, don't you think? When I read the title I thought SARS was going to confiscate bitcoins outright. But it is OK in my opinion that they want to regulate bitcoins so that they become taxable.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Effect of overpopulation on bitcoin on: December 16, 2017, 10:05:01 AM
Rather than the price, I think the overpopulation is having an effect on the overall bitcoin infrastructure. Transactions cost more, take longer to go through, and if bitcoin wants to add more users, these issues have to be addressed.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is ETH and LTC dropping in price while BTC is soaring? on: December 15, 2017, 11:09:37 AM
An increase in BTC = a decrease in all altcoins. And vice versa.

This is not always the case, as far as I have seen. I think the decrease in ETH and LTC this time around is a correction independent of the BTC price, since the prices of both ETH and LTC went crazy in the last 7 days. I think the question in the OP doesn't have a 100% correct answer since no one can identify why exactly the BTC price is increasing in the first place.
179  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-15]US prosecutors rush to millions of dollars worth of digital currency on: December 15, 2017, 11:05:06 AM
Why rush to sell, though? The price is still going up. Other than that, what I immediately thought of when I read the news was, if this drug dealer hadn't been arrested, he would have been a millionaire now. If he is somehow able to track the bitcoin price in prison, I'm sure he's pretty angry about it.
180  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you sure that bitcoin will fall? on: December 15, 2017, 10:56:30 AM
Why do the number of addresses fall every now and then? I would assume the graph should have gone up all the time, no? When people lose interest in bitcoin, I would have thought that they would just uninstall their wallet apps or something. Are they deactivating their addresses as well?
