161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin setting records, $19.8k and half a million blocks milestone on: December 19, 2017, 07:19:24 PM
It is ironic because we touched that all time high but now the price has dropped a lot, i dont know what the fuck is going on, but now it seems that it wants to have a "floor" between $18700 and $19200, this is kinda strange.
But it will recover soon, it will be touching a new all time high during this week.

Yeah I was thinking the same just yesteraday we saw such things happening and today btc is dropping near about 18000. But this time I think that people aren't selling off their btc due to panic instead they are actually diversifying their holdings as you can see that the total market cap in cryptos is increasing and the BTC dominance in the crypto market for the first time has gone below 50% well this explains that BTC has lost its majority in the crypto market and we just can't say that crypto is all because of bitcoin anymore.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost private key. on: December 19, 2017, 07:13:33 PM
Guys what will happen if you accidentally lost the copy of your private key?..it's still possible to transfer your tokens to your other wallet using your wallet address..?? Does anyone know?..thanks in advance
If you are stuck in such a situation sadly there is no way out. Losing private key means losing access to the pathway of your wallet. No one can help you transfer funds from this wallet. Only case where in such a thing is possible is if you are already inside your wallet.

You cannot get back your funds if you lost your private key. It is very important in crypto. You are unlocking your funds on the blockchain with your p-key. If you lost it then you don't gain access to it.
You cannot recover your wallet without private key. AFAIK the key itself can't be recovered as it is based on strong cryptography algorithm
Yes cracking a private key is certainly impossible as its a very long alphanumeric code. If even with the best technology available today we try to make a brute force attack to find such a key it would take years to find out your combination.

164  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex vs. Gdax on: December 18, 2017, 09:09:02 AM
Bittrex and Gdax are two absolutely dissimilar exchanges. Bittrex is much versatile exchange which has enormous amount of coins listed while Gdax limits its listing to merely top few coins but has large volumes for such pairs.

Bittrex: Bittrex is for traders most of the trading is done on this platform therefore you won't see much USDT pairing up here most of the traders settle for btc trading. Bittrex however limits your withdrawls and requires certain level of verification which they call basic verification where you merely need to verify your mobile number. This gives you 1 BTC withdrawal limit similarly they have a enhanced verification for higher withdrawals limits.

GDax: Its much more of a saving types exchange for new comers. People come here with their USD to buy some bitcoins for the first time. Gdax generally comes on top in volume moreover has various fiat pairs with btc like USD, EUR, GBP. But its not a traders exchange as they have limited coins listed.
165  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to become a trader on: December 18, 2017, 05:25:02 AM
Trading is different then investing, first you should determine if you are going to trade or invest. Investing is buying and holding for years, trading is simply buying and selling to make a profit regardless or the fundamentals of a coin.

Figure out which coins you like and buy and hold them dont trade them, on the other hand find coins you think will go up in maybe a couple of months and try and trade those.

Stop losses and indicators are something you should become familiar with and remember trading has a lot of emotion involved, dont let your emotions get the best of you. Good luck
I agree with you trading is much more different than investing here are some tips for you which can make you a successfull Trader  ??

1.For the successful trader knows every action he takes, every decisionhe makes he ,and only he, is responsible for that action.
You will never meet a successful trader who is looking to blame
someone else, or something else for the consequences of his results. It just will not happen.

2.You see, when you accept 100%, no questions asked responsibility for all your actions you close the door to "excuses" behind you. When something goes wrong instead of looking for someone else to shoulder the blame, you will accept responsibility, note it down and vow never to repeat it again. Simply, you are willing to accept you are going to make mistakes, but more importantly, you are going to learn and never repeat those mistakes. A vital component of any winning trader.

3.If you have a system that you have tested and proven over the long run that it does outperform the market and it is a system that fits you, why will you EVER have to ask for an opinion? What extra will a third party opinion provide? Apart from confusing you and clouding your opinion?

Always be with your research elswhere you may get REKT in this Crypto Industry.
166  Local / India / Re: Which bitcoin exchanger should i use now? on: December 18, 2017, 05:06:49 AM
Previously i am working with Btcxindia but now they closed bitcoin. Igot which is fraud and now bitlio. Zebpay bad support as i read in thread.

Which exchanger should i use with best support.
See for INR we just have some handful of exchanged which offer some good services along with great customer support. But which exchange you can choose would certainly depend upon your requirement. I can review two or three for you.

Zebpay: zebpay is not actually an exchange merely a wallet or a platform where one could buy bitcoins. The bid ask orders on wallet do not really get accepted so quickly because they don't show list of active orders up there. Generally you have to buy/sell bitcoins using the inbuilt option in which you are bound to buy it at price which zebpay wants. Zebpay is best if you continuously send your bitcoins as the transaction fees are too low as they do processing in batches. Moreover it does not supports any other coin.

Koinex: It is the first live trading exchange of India. They are even listed on coinmarketcap as the only exchange trading in INR but they are at their budding stages as well. Their customer support isnt upto the mark yet they support a lot of major coins so you can even trade on the platfrom.

168  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Insurance on: December 17, 2017, 05:14:24 AM
3 Property Insurance Options
Fire
Provides assurance on the property at the risk of fire, lightning strikes, explosions, aircraft fall and smoke.

PAR
Provide assurance on the property at risk of FLEXAS, with extension of warranties such as flood or water damage, riots, riots, and other guarantees. This guarantee is also called Property All Risk.

Earthquake
Provides additional assurance on the property at risk due to earthquakes, volcanic eruptions until the tsunami.

Property insurance won't provide you with the recovery of loss related to your profits all it would do is to idemnify you for historical costs of your physical equippments.
I think better would be getting a business insurance. They idemnify your profits which you were expected to earn in some future months. All companies might not be ready to give such insurance to miners but you can try for some private companies. You may find this article quite interesting https://www.coindesk.com/great-american-insurance-bitcoin-coverage-businesses/ it says how an insurance company is providing risk-coverage to business. But until now insurance companies have been providing such insurances for merely theft and lost of private key.
169  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Lost bitcoins in Mycelium wallet with 12 words and backup??? on: December 17, 2017, 05:08:05 AM
Hello everyone and thanks for reading.

I have an account created in Mycelium. When I created it I made a backup copy and wrote down the 12 words.

A few days ago I put a few hundred euros. And I confirmed they were in my account. In green. For a week now. But I did not back up again.

Today I changed the PIN. And I wanted to make a backup. It told me that since the PIN had changed, I had to wait 2 days. (about 200 blocks, it said).

The fact is that I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. I put the 12 words. And I get an account (mine) and it turns out that the account does not have a euro.

What happened? Impossible to backup the account for having changed the PIN and now I have lost everything? I have to wait for those 2 days that the app asked me? What are those 12 words for? Is it the lag we are experimenting these days???

Thank you!!!!!
First of all mycelium only stores bitcoins not something like euros. Secondly until you have that 12 word private key in your hand you can acess your wallet. Even if mycelium rejects to support it. Try starting from fresh by installing app and restoring your wallet. Follow these steps if you have a scanned qr of your private key as well as the newly changed PIN as changing PIN doesn't changes private key.
If you have the private key as QR and the password you can do the following:

1 hit menu -> offline wallet
2 select qr-code
3 scan private key.
4 mycelium should detect it as encrypted private key and ask for the password
5 enter password and wait for encryption (takes >1 minute on old phone)
6 transfer funds to another of your addresses you still control.
7 mycelium should warn you that it will not store the private key, so make sure to transfer the whole balance

170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coins real or fake? on: December 17, 2017, 05:03:16 AM
How did these new coins come about, there are so many. Are they owned by company? There are some with weird names. Are they all real or fake?
All of them are real but it does not guarantee that they have a real project working behind or if they will really make their best efforts to get listed. Here are some of points which you can surely keep in your mind while choosing a best altcoin.
There are several definitions/criteria by which you can detect whether a new cryptocurrency is a scam or not.

BLOCKCHAIN
The digital currency was created on the BITCOIN or ETHEREUM BLOCKCHAIN, then it has some level of legitimacy.
LIQUIDITY
It is easy to liquidate the commodity asset of your digital currency asset and turn this into other digital currencies or back to cash.
FUNCTION
The company has a business model/plan within which the digital currency or token will solve a real problem for a large channel to market.
PEOPLE
The people behind the company and the company itself have an ethical background and have not been involved in Ponzi Schemes, Penny Auctions and are operating with transparency and conservatism.
ICO - Initial Coin Offering
Specifying terms and conditions of the downside is a legal requirement not adhered to by most ICOs. ICOs divert this by saying they are technology advisors. However, unlike IPO rules under SEC, ICOs only need a white paper about a potentiality and a funky website to solicit millions of dollars in digital currency investment.

But even after such things show positive indicators one cannot guarantee that the coin is real for sure.
Bitcoin are real,100% legit but it is an intangible thing. Sincecit is a internet or a net thing that show number with a real help in the internet community. Bitcoins are used in buying things in the internet.
I think he is quite sure about bitcoin he is talking about other coins prevalent in the market which use their own blockchain or either work on the tradition ethereum or bitcoin blockchain.

173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forks affect BTC positively on: December 10, 2017, 06:55:08 PM
Hi there, I hope you do well.
I read an article on coindesk talking about how forks improve BTC behaviour ( PS : these forks must meet some criteria ) where a sentence took my attention " Forks offer ideological leaders the chance to put their ideas on improving protocols into practice without getting bogged down in endless bickering with others. "
I let you with the article : https://www.coindesk.com/forks-might-help-bitcoin-reach-true-destination/
What do you think gays about the influence of forks on bitcoin ?

If we see the ideal theory of forks they surely are quite important to nurture bitcoin to its true destination. But lately these forks are becoming quite useless. Usless in the sense that they do not really provide any utility to the bitcoin network as a whole.

If usless forks like diamod and others continue to exist even the forks which are very essential to the overall stability of bitcoin will go certainly unnoticed. The fact that some of these forks are done by a specific group is even worse because it harms the centralization idea of bitcoin.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most undervalued alt coins? on: December 10, 2017, 06:09:20 PM
First of all, what is it mean when cryptocurrency is undervalued? Unlike more traditional assets , here we still do not have any solid valuation method or approach. I am not even sure we should use the phrase “undervalued” in this stage of crypto market, but I am going to stick with it. Many people think it’s pure speculative bubble. It is partially correct, there are lot of people trying to get in early in order to find the next Bitcoin or Ethereum which will make them thousands of % in return.

So, I have somewhat different choice from all of you present here my vote goes to the already established ripple. If we see and consider all the factors then most probably govts. are coming up with certain legalizations and scrutiny over bitcoin. XRP has the network and chain to tackle these legalization. It might be bit centralized but provides with complete characteristics of any currency may it be digital. Its too undervalued at just around $0.2 or something around it and news is that many big banks are supporting it and are going to bring their main chain transactions over it. So it will surely boost up its price a lot. So my vote to ripple

For me NEO is the most undervalued coins it is a lot better than Ethereum which networks has a lot of problems, neo has more advance technology than ETH.

The price for NEO is quite high right now but it is definitely one of the most undervalued coins. In the next few years if NEO is successful, I think NEO will surpass ETH as ethereum network right now is clogged by some kitties.
NEO does has a better network but ETH has a good network too can't really say that NEO would magically trace of ETH and beat it. ETH is a support line for many tokens so in no way its going to crash soon.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Flood of Bitcoin Forks Coming....4 more here before Jan 2 2018! Sheesh! on: December 10, 2017, 01:22:12 PM
Forks originally were invented to improve the bitcoin network in whole. It comprised of two types of forks. The soft forks and the hard forks. These forks brought in new changes to network improved its efficiency and effectiveness but now people have just made it a way of creating their very own blockchain to work on.

I think the amount of altcoins today has increased so much that people no more trust ICOs they feel that every shitcoin coming in is merely a scam. So people have found a new way to gain popularity with their project. They fork the existing blockchain to create a new blockchain. This would continue until people realize that forks too are nothing more than pieces of shit.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is One of the Greatest Market Threats in 2018 on: December 10, 2017, 10:37:00 AM
Deutsche Bank has issued a market briefing for 2018. The document, created by Chief International Economist Torsten Slok, lists 30 possible threats that could disrupt global markets next year. Alongside entries like “North Korea” and “Brexit”, is bitcoin. Its inclusion shows the extent to which the banking sector is eyeing the revitalized digital currency. While some institutional investors see bitcoin as an opportunity, many more consider it a threat.
Absolutely true who would invest in 10-12% bond which give such return in an year when you have bitcoin which gives such return in just a day or two? It is the biggest threats to the financial market.

Bitcoin isn’t going to leave each other global asset category obsolete. But if it were to continue its leading ascent, investment banks face a quandary. No other stock, bond, or equity in history has performed in addition to bitcoin this past year. Traditional assets that guarantee a 6-8% return look decidedly tame in comparison.

Moreover considering the fact that investment in bicoins don't even require any kind of formalities involved which make it hazzle free and safer too. It is surely tax avoidable thing as money stored in private key wallets can surely never be taxed in any possible manner.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why most top coins are falling? on: December 10, 2017, 09:01:34 AM
Why top 10 coins are falling? Something happened?

goldman-sachs just took over btc,

that means zog now control btc, and most of the alt-coins were created by zog

so crypto is now essentially just another zog currency, all the dreams of satoshi crypto-anarchists are now dead

**

BRR-CME to set price of bitcoin, goldman sachs, is nsa israel fbi IRS, ... its now all under one umbrella

In this methodology document, both the Administrator and Calculation Agent of the BRR are exclusively listed as "Crypto Facilities Ltd", based at an address in the City of London:

Contact Details: Crypto Facilities Ltd 4th Floor 25 Copthall Avenue London EC2R 7BP

    Web: https://www.cryptofacilities.com Phone: +44 20 7655 6085 Email: contact@cryptofacilities.com

So who or what is “Crypto facilities Ltd”?  Looking at the UK Companies registration web site (Companies House), reveals that 'Crypto Facilities Ltd' was incorporated on 12 August 2014 as a private limited company in the UK.

According to Companies House, 'Crypto Facilities Ltd' only has one director, a certain Timo Schlaefer.

Who is this Timo Schlaefer? According to LinkedIn, Timo Schlaefer was with the Vampire Squid Goldman Sachs between 2011 to 2015. Strangely though, the header of Schlaefer's LinkedIn profile still says “Goldman Sachs”.
What are you people talking about and what is the source and credibility of.the information which you are talking about? Bitcoin has always been decentralized when was it bought by goldman sachs?
178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could we expect more years like "2017"? on: December 10, 2017, 05:47:59 AM
We all know that this year we experienced bitcoin surging up so high from $1k in January then on this month of December it almost touch up to $20k. So, do we have to expect more on Bitcoin just like this in the coming years that will go through?

For me I think I will be positive as this years has and hold the Bitcoin that I have right now.
2017 isnt only important in terms.of price surge. Its important in terms of advertisement and publicity of bitcoin too. 2017 was the year when the market cap multiplied by like 30 times. 2017 was the year when a lot of new people joined in this journey of bitcoin I highly doubt if any year could match this year because now authorities are also looking forward to assure bitcoin isnt misused.
179  Economy / Speculation / Re: ⛔️⛔️⛔️ Is It Time To Cash Out The Profits? ⛔️⛔️⛔️ on: December 10, 2017, 05:00:32 AM
Do you really think anyone here can predict it? I seriously can't. These crypto makets are becoming heck of unpredictable. We see new booms and new corrections each and every day. Its becoming difficult even for traders. so its better to cash out profits whenever you get a chance to do so. Moreover not to forget that a new wave was added to the never-ending Bitcoin mania when the Chicago Board of Exchange (CBOE) became the first major derivative exchange to launch Bitcoin futures on December 10.

Getting its futures listed on a top exchange of US is a great thing in itself and clearly exhibits that its price is certainly going to shift upwards in coming futures.
180  Economy / Speculation / Re: YOU ARE ALL STUPID - SELL NOW on: December 10, 2017, 03:27:35 AM
Good God, I've had enough. You will all lose your shirts when bitcoin hits the markets. You are not smarter than the big boys that run the financial industry.

SELL NOW YOU BLIND SHEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well with very profound grief I would say that you are correct the big whales actually manipulate the market too much but selling right now also won't be a very graceful option to us bitcoin can still go up by thousands of dollars even if big guns continue to manipulate it.
