161  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 25, 2013, 09:23:33 PM
Are there really people in favor of clogging up the blockchain with microtransactions just so that they could get a daily dividend? I don't believe this would be in the best interest of bitcoin, and therefore not in the best interest of AM.

we have faith satoshi can handle it...piece of cake..thanks
162  Economy / Securities / Re: Do not buy the new PMBs called BFMINES issued by Furuknap on: June 25, 2013, 08:22:24 PM
Agreed, this is a horrible investment at the offered price. I thought it was okay at first before I realized it only starts hashing in months.

Actually, 100TH just announced that because the chips are working correctly (and these are the same chips used in my miner) they will start deployment next week.

https://picostocks.com/docs/index/19

Quote
Because of the lower hash rate we will have problems to deliver the full 104TH/s performance in the next weeks. Only 35296 chips are expected to be available for the mine next week. This corresponds to only 70TH/s. We are still waiting for the other packaging company to provide us with the estimation of the date for the completion of packaging.
We expect a delay of 1-2 weeks in launching the mine. We assume the initial launch will include only 70TH/s and few days later additional 34TH/s will be installed.

I don't want to overpromise anything, so I won't adjust the contract, but it is more and more likely that the miner will arrive much sooner than September.

transparency builds confidence at least you are forthcoming..thanks

2)My internet is pretty reliable here in Melbourne. Never had an outage before. I would just cruise down to Uni if I did. They have some insane connection which I think is a part of the internet infrastructure of Melbourne

so they'll let you fire up your portable mining rig there= that's whats up..thanks

165  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 25, 2013, 07:58:51 PM
So question should have been:

"Which Bitfountain does ASICMINER belong to, as there is more than one?"

who filed the patent on these usb devices?..what Bitfountain link is everyone talking about here?..thanks
166  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 25, 2013, 07:52:51 PM
it would be pretty good for the PT.  Get dividends on weds, invest int hings through the week, and pay out slowly on a daily basis...

The point of the PT is that it's a direct reflection of AM, not additional investments.

I'm sure there are some other funds out there that do this.. Aren't there?
probably BTCinvest, I think he has other investments. You are right, it would want to be a fund with daily dividends.  I'm not sure why anyone would invest in something like that, but it seems like the fund manager would stand to make some good money.

It'd just be spamming the chain with lots of small transactions daily.

I'm sure there is a positive spin to it, but I don't really know what it is.

The actual way to do this would be to pay daily divs BEFORE they came out, based on the mining wallet, then do a weekly div to correct it. Then you might get people's attention. Hmm...

There ya go!

Edit -

Ticker name can be TAT-ASICM-DAILY

Do I get some sort of credit for that?!??!!!! lol

DAILY?...we can't wait that long and aint that the new new triple passthrough..thanls

They should also all stop this nonsense of reporting and paying dividends weekly, it is a distraction and is not done in 'the real world' for a good reason i.e. income volatility and it's a waste of time.
Nonsense.
In a risky business such as Bitcoin I can't trust anyone for a long period, hence I demand fast and abundant revenues in order to be interested.

I prefer daily dividend, if they do daily dividend , then the share price will pump again.

30 minute dividend faucet ?..thanks lol Grin

Pays dividend each time when they mined ......

divy every block why not...lol

All you have to do is deposit 10k BTC and transfer it to "burnside" on the exchange.

Then I'll consider programming in support for shorting.   Grin

Reminder / Update

ThickAsThieves, VJain, Franktank and myself have put together the next round of questions for the community to vote on.

Once we have a consensus of the top three questions, ThickAsThieves will submit them to Friedcat.

The last round was a big success, so we will continue doing this for the foreseeable future.

The questions are available for voting here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1M7wigyDWjKjabHKdC7msaEfXvYaNxtMbbmTIRss8EqU/viewform

If there is a question that is not listed, please let us know and we will discuss adding it.

Thank you!  I know the community appreciates it and I bet it saves friedcat a lot of time.

question number (#1) one what Bitfountain is everyone buying into here...thanks ir
172  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 25, 2013, 04:39:40 PM
Does he actually do all the transfers himself? He could have an assistant checking his PMs and doing all transfer requests for him.

This is what he said Wink

Update
It has been and will always be me myself who use the forum id friedcat to post updates and replies. If my partners are to announce the news or contact the shareholders instead of me, they will use their own account.

nice charts man...i love the black backdrop!..thanks +++

From another post:
"...It truly amazes me that Co's lie ASICMINER or SDICE, who roll around in thousands of BTC (hundreds of thousands of EUR) can not find a bookkeeper, who is capable compiling a proper P/L, C/F and the the balance sheet. All I can say is: "WTF!"

This is a big concern for almost every Bitcoin Business.

Same applies to many companies like SDice, AsicMiner, MPOE etc etc. They have all grown quickly into big successful business making loads of BTC, but all still operate like one-man bands, with the founders doing all the PR and numbers. They need to act like proper $50-$100m+ businesses and have proper PR communications on scheduled basis, proper websites and proper financial statements. They should also all stop this nonsense of reporting and paying dividends weekly, it is a distraction and is not done in 'the real world' for a good reason i.e. income volatility and it's a waste of time.

On a similar matter, the exchanges and gambling sites need to get regulated and the mining devices should be sold with FCC/CE certification.

Ultimately as Bitcoin grows it will have to become more professional, ignoring rules never works out well in the end.......ignorance is no defence of the law.

what? fyi our group has been providing matket awareness / promo for at least two weeks...thanks buddy

I put this together for my own convenience, but anyone is welcome to use it. I'll probably be adding some ASICMINER-relevant links to the site as well.

If you use the site, I strongly encourage you to donate to SmiGueL, as he maintains the charts! His BTC address is linked to from the page.

179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is litecoin hyped so much when it doesn't add any value over bitcoin? on: June 25, 2013, 01:53:58 AM
Litecoin is different from bitcoin in following ways, however none of them is particularly useful and on the contrary are only less worthy.

84 million vs 21 millions: since bitcoin is divisible upto atleast 9 decimals and also micro BTC can be used for dealing with low amounts

faster blocks 2.5 minutes vs 10 minutes average: 6 confirmations of bitcoin are not equivalent of 6 confirmations of litecoin, so litecoin payments are usually confirmed after many more confirmations. It also wastes mining power because in litecoin, most of the time miners may start work with non-best blocks.

scrypt vs sha-256: since scrypt can be relatively efficiently run on CPU/GPU which means botnets can easily control a lot of hashing power. Also, scrypt is relatively less analyzed and used than sha-256, so it may not be more secure tha sha-256.

Technically, bitcoin does what litecoin in an equal or better way. Also, bitcoin testnet can be used to experiment with new features.

Why do we need litecoin that actually has monetary value?(around 2.7USD per LTC now) Is it just promoted by a group of people who missed the bitcoin get-rich boat?

Bitcoin is novel concept and early adopters rightly earn their rewards for the risk they have taken.

Chinese scrypt-o?..lol
180  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] peatio.com the world's first 100 percent public owned bitcoin exchange on: June 25, 2013, 01:40:57 AM
As bitcoiners are calling for a true p2p exchange, I figure out another direction: if an exchange is 100 percent public owned, it's in essence another form of p2p.

http://peatio.com

  • The team was assembled, and are now working.
  • The project is funded and supported by https://bitfund.pe. (..., which is the 11th project in the portfolio of https://bitfund.pe)
  • The first market will be China, one of the biggest markets in the world. (The next market will be nominated by share holders.)
  • The exchange will have a client, with desktop and mobile edition. (more details will be updated)
  • The exchange will sell all of its shares to the public.
  • Every country or area will have it's own subdomain, cn.peatio.com, kr.peatio.com, jp.peatio.com, us.peatio.com, etc. and should have its own 100% IPO, since local traders should own local exchange.
  • Once launched, the exchange will pay out dividend on a daily base.
  • The shares will also be exchanged on its own site.
  • The funding process will be open within two weeks, which will be parallel to the development. And the shares selling will be escrowed by John. K, or using
  • a mechanism of the distributed contract ( https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Contracts )

@GGGGG is responsible to give more on announcements of peatio.com and https://bitfund.pe

UPDATE 2013.06.24

i'm sorry isn't that the purpose of bitcoin software to do this?..lol
