162  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin be able to Kill the Bank-System ? on: December 29, 2013, 08:55:07 PM
It looks like you copied and pasted some random phrases or maybe you translated from your own language  Huh Maybe submit the original next time together  Grin
Bitcoin will not be able to kill any bank because banks run the governments, I guess it's simple as that.
What Bitcoin can do is to provide a competitive (better) choice
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING about Nextcoin NXT the new altcoin is this legit? on: December 28, 2013, 02:35:40 AM
Nxt will be worth $80-$100 end of 2014. You heard it here first

+1   Grin

I strongly recommend taking a good look at NXT: (if u have a week to spare)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.0

And then ask yourself if this is a typical scam coin or the next Bitcoin.

No need to spend a week on that thread:

- It's not opensource, we'll see on the 3rd of January
- It's PoS
- Extensive list of innovative features made in advance to attract noobs

These 3 reasons are enough for me to stay away from it, for now.
164  Economy / Economics / Re: Should bitcoin markets be regulated? on: December 28, 2013, 01:45:51 AM
I vote that the bitcoin markets should have regulations and audits done by third parties to keep market integrity. < You are one big step ahead, they first have to recognize bitcoin as a currency/commodity and then try to regulate it.
You can scam people or plainly steal from people, without being held responsible. < only from greedy people
If bitcoin doesn't change direction with it's market system policies, then bitcoin will soon lose it's most valuable asset - trust < this could be resolved soon with a distributed exchange

I voted yes
165  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Judge Says NSA Phone Surveillance Is Legal on: December 28, 2013, 01:29:08 AM
Also here: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/dec/27/judge-rules-nsa-phone-data-collection-legal

Quote
"Every day, people voluntarily surrender personal and seemingly-private information to trans-national corporations, which exploit that data for profit. Few think twice about it, even though it is far more intrusive that bulk telephony metadata collection."

Don't you accept terms and conditions in US giving the right to use and transmit your data to 3rd party companies?
And they played yet again the 9/11 card, oh man
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you really think governments will allow a 500 billion dollar crypto-economy? on: December 28, 2013, 01:08:02 AM
The first part is nonse however, because govs can really simply ban bitcoin by banning all the bussiness that accept it.. if no normal bussines (grocery, electronic, housing, energy, transport etc. etc. etc.) accept it, the price CRASHES= bitcoin is dead. (using it only in the black market wont save it). Decentralization is worthless argument here.

And if this happens how do you think people will react?
This is not a game for nerds anymore, there are serious money invested, serious businesses in the industry and global visibility thanks to internet.
167  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [26-12-2013] China's Richest Man Invests in Bitpay on: December 28, 2013, 12:58:22 AM
If Li Ka-shing made this move now, after a few weeks from china banning bank and financial institutions, he must know something we don't
I imagine a man of this caliber doesn't take decisions out of his ass
168  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if Zuckerberg is trying to get in on bitcoin? on: December 28, 2013, 12:48:29 AM
Maybe he realized that FB is about to collapse

Bwahahaha

Yes, That's what I think, something mobile will replace it soon, facebook is getting old

169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: December 28, 2013, 12:43:14 AM
This is a scam. I hope people are aware of BFL scam with SHA-256 ASIC
Last month there was a conference in London and thousands of people are waiting for a scrypt ASIC, where were you? Probably playing videogames.
And the India idea? Look at India reaction to cryptos today.. LOL
Don't give them a dime
170  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if Zuckerberg is trying to get in on bitcoin? on: December 28, 2013, 12:17:39 AM
They talked about this a few months ago http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1f77qd/mark_zuckerberg_talks_about_bitcoin_in_hungary/) but I don't think he is really interested in bitcoin. Maybe he realized that FB is about to collapse or maybe some very nice news is coming from our friend Snowden
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins developed to avoid GPU/ASICs equates to being simpler for botnets? on: December 28, 2013, 12:08:56 AM
I don't think it's a very good idea.
"Old" miners have no incentive to mine as the reward decreases over time; on the other hand "New" miners will come in and go as the reward decreases.
The result is that there is no incentive to mine and secure the network. It's a bit weird.
Botnet are not always running on servers (usually static ip), they might well run on consumer pcs (usually dynamic ip)
So I don't see how this solution can make a coin botnet resistant and I don't think any project currently uses this strategy.
172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will people be selling after the 1st of the year for tax benefits? on: December 27, 2013, 11:59:36 PM
A lot of bitcoiners and altcoiners made a lot of money this year with the runup. If they cash out their profit before the end of the calendar year they (theoretically) have to pay taxes on their gains.

I'm guessing a lot of people are waiting until after the 1st of the year to sell their coins in order to cash out and realize a profit. Cashing out after the 1st of the year allows them one whole year to find tax havens such as mortgage interest and Roth IRAs.

Will people be selling a lot after the 1st of the year?

There will be no major cash out, US citizens only hold a small part of the BTC in circulation
And you forget that holders are greedy, we are all waiting for the next bubble aren't we
173  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Altcoin Trading Tool To Show Portfolio Value on: December 27, 2013, 11:47:41 PM
You should contact his guy: http://cryptofolio.info
If I understood correctly, he has already done half of the job
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just got an email that Alpha is opening up preorders for Q3 scrypt ASICs on: December 27, 2013, 04:58:54 PM
People already learned the hard lesson with BFL, not many are willing to give any money to those stupid companies.
And this stupid refund policies? These guys are crazy if they think they can do it.
I guess it's against any consumer protection law in any western country.
175  Local / Altcoins (criptomonedas alternativas) / Re: NXT, la nueva scamcoin on: December 27, 2013, 04:53:54 PM
NXT es una trampa, como podeis dar dinero "verdadero" a esos 71 inversores iniciales?
En el hilo han puesto cualquier feature para atrapar a los pobres q descubren BTC ahora.
No ayudes a esos ladrones
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the point of all these ALT CRYPTOCURRENCIES on: December 27, 2013, 04:41:18 PM
The vast majority have no purpose whatsoever. Many people are disappointed they found Bitcoin this 'late' (which is ridiculous because it's still early) and try to get rich by scamming newbies into buying their scamcoins.

A few altcoins offer something useful, but nothing gigantic. Proof of Stake by PeerCoin is innovative and another hash algorithm (Litecoin) was too at the time. The thing is that when such things prove to be really advantageous they can just be included into Bitcoin as well.

That's absolutely NOT true. Nobody will ever change bitcoin SHA-256 and if the core development decide to do it nobody will follow them.
There are millions and millions invested in ASIC miners, if there is one thing that will never change in bitcoin is PoW SHA-256
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Locking Heavily Premined Coin Threads? on: December 27, 2013, 04:35:45 PM
Do you think staff should lock all heavily premined coin threads in order to protect new members from being scammed?

It just seems a little unfair that you get scammers on here with heavily premined coins, and new members come along and put hard cash into buying these new coins thinking they are getting a bargain. Next thing you know the coin is dead and all their money is gone. That sort of thing will put you off ever using cryptocurrencies again (if you are new to the whole thing, which 99% of people are).

This has been discussed already so many times that it's almost as spam as premined coins.
Nobody will EVER delete any thread on this board. Period
Hopefully everybody got a brain, it's time to use it
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 27, 2013, 04:13:54 PM
Hi, can somebody please point me to the right direction?
I can see a lot of features but I can't find any paper explaining how and when these will be implemented.
In particular:

- Decentralized Marketplace / Auction
- Decentralized Mixing Service
- Decentralized DNS / Alias System (Starting at block 22000)
- Voting

Thanks
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you really think governments will allow a 500 billion dollar crypto-economy? on: December 27, 2013, 04:08:30 PM
....and we have the first jap-anime inclined fool chiming in with deluded sense of 'power' they hold.

ROFL

Anyway.. no, governments won't allow it, they will try to extort as much as they can from people to retain their power.
This is just the beginning, they are trying to understand if they can make some money out of it before killing it.
The only problem with this is that cryptos are decentralized which not even a censorship can stop
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I have 1 dogecoin? on: December 27, 2013, 04:03:43 PM
By the end of the year you can have as many dogecoin as you wish, for free
Finally this spam is about to end :-)
