161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unveiling the truth over the major Monero hoax on: August 25, 2014, 01:56:40 PM
Hah monero is shit. Not surprising it'd resort to such tactics as this.

I'm on Windows 8 and found that the installer version of the wallet would still hang in the taskbar for me, but the standalone exe works perfectly. I wonder if it has something to do with being installed in program files and not having proper permissions there or something...I've seen that problem before, especially since Microsoft beefed up security settings to make it harder to mess around in program files in Windows 7/8.

you want to see price rocket? RT the messages announcing moolah backing SYS & pull all sell orders up to 1k sat.

Grab popcorn and watch.

This. Exactly this.

I like how the FUD has completely disappeared now that Syscoin's starting to rally...could this be the start of the greatest FUD adversity comeback of all time?? We shall see...  Grin

And many developers take a 1% premine, wait 2 days, dump it all and then clone another coin and repeat. Don't forget audacious roadmaps that never materialize (anon! marketplaces! magic! pixie dust!). You're right, that doesn't take any effort. That is not Syscoin.

See also: the last 2months of scams in crypto.

You just explained one scenario that kept repeating these past few months. But, go backwards to the beginnings (e.g. Bitcoin/Litecoin/Peecoin). You dont even have to look that far back, check out Darkcoin and you will see there was no premine, no IPO. They did not "need" it, they did not want all those investors. That was my whole point since I started this conversation, by doing the IPO you have commited yourself to the investors and in a sense the "Syscoin Team" does owe them. Anyways I was just defending myself against vicvelcro who spat out incoherent replies, in which I immediately understood he was under distress and stopped the conversation.

Let me get your point more straight forward:

There are only two type of IPO investors, type one people who support this project, and type two people who want to make money out of it. And you, at least need to make your IPO investors happy, both type of investors. But look at everything now, are your type one investors happy? I'm afraid not. How about type two? lol you tell me?

So here's the solution, to make type one people happy, you are working hard right now, that's good to see, and please keep it up. To make type two people happy, you need to set up buy wall on 516 sat ASAP, more investors going in will always benefit your project.

These are actually all really good points. Either way, I still think it's imperative that the 465 buy wall remains firm. If that falls it will be nothing but panic, FUD, angry investors, and all around terrible atmosphere for the coin. A good technique may be to just build a huge wall at 465, so people don't see the wall that's currently there getting smaller and smaller and causing a tidal wave to wipe it out. A large wall signals confidence, and potential dumpers will think twice about dumping into it.

This is crypto, only invest into a coin if you are prepared to loose them ALL. I was prepared.. did you?
Anyway, I agree with you about dev dropped the ball on launch but so what? They fixed the issue and let's forget about the past. You just continue to complain about EVERYTHING.. does that help ? Are you being constructive? Simple answer is no. You are just trying to get everyone's attention.

My ICO entry point is not gone.. I already sold at 750 and re-buy at 500..a few times.. therefore my investment already increaesed by about 20-30% as a noob trader!

You are just bag holding your coins and afraid to do anything with it. Syscoin's wave is great to surf on.. learn to sell high and buy low..

I wish I could still be riding the Syscoin wave, but damn is the market moving slow right now. Hard to buy low and sell high on a standstill...

Just so you guys are fully aware, our unbiased eskrow service moolah is heavy invested in sys
https://twitter.com/moolah_io/status/501022140230299648

Who the hell cares? They have a partnership together. And it's obvious the devs are trustworthy and will see the coin through to the end, so what need is there for an escrow at this point? Things are working, devs are busting ass, and investors will be happy with profit soon (I imagine after people get a chance to see the "SysMarket" template Dano's working up)...I'd rather see Moolah release the funds sooner than later so services can start being rolled out properly and people can start seeing what Syscoin is truly capable of.

Also, what other coin has the backing of an exchange/infrastructure as huge as Moolah/Mintpal? I see that as only a good thing, in fact I fully expect it to play out huge for Syscoin's future.

Isn't 2 billion coins quite a lot? Maybe that explains the low price...

See this is why I still feel max coins should be reduced to 1 billion over 20 some-odd years as opposed to 2 billion over 80 some-odd years. Won't change anything about the coin whatsoever, but at least it will make people stop bringing up this damn (false) criticism.

At least I thought about doge and the huge amount of cheap coins flooding from the huge amount of coins. I guess SYS  is then different (haven't mined it so don't know) but it isn't really explained in the OP.

Yea, it's tough to notice unless you take the time to look at the mining structure and do the calculations yourself. Basically, even after 15.5 years of mining there will only be 828,633,600 coins on the market. So unless you're worried about 2 billion coins 86 years into the future, there's nothing to be concerned about.

so the devs now have ther ipo funds released to them ?

Think so yes ,

Dev, come on you have some btc trow 100 against it to 1000 sat and start the revolution , you wont lose just win coins Wink

The devs have no coins yet; last I heard Moolah was going to be watching the features/blockchain for a few more days to make sure everything is working and available before releasing the coins.

Another thing to keep in mind, is that Moolah purchased what, like 150 BTC worth of Syscoin during the crazy fud-for-all the past couple days using buy walls that just got sold into...and they have no plans to sell that anytime soon, as far as I am aware. So think of that as an even greater tightening up of supply. Good things will be coming soon...

Guys, where's the epic dump that was supposed to happen as soon as Mintpal opened the wallets back up?? I'm sitting here with BTC in hand ready to grab some more sweet sweet SYS at 400 sat, and word on the street is an epic dump is supposed to happen. Are the devs actually incredibly skilled and transparent?? Is Syscoin actually an innovative coin destined to change the altcoin landscape forever?? Is all this forking nonsense actually behind us and people will simply forget when they see the price going to the moon due to Syscoin's amazing featureset?? I am so confused... Huh

Hahaha! Don't be delusional, boy.

You're right, it was delusional of me to expect people to willingly dump such an innovative coin at a loss...the hell was I thinking?

slex, just wanted to post that I agree with everything you've done so far. These measures are necessary to protect the investors, the devs, and the longterm health of the coin. Anyone demanding otherwise really doesn't know what the hell they're talking about.

Suchnekky stop being a dick, the devs are working their asses off and you're just wasting their's and everybody else's time posting your shit and making dano delete it. WTF is wrong with you?

Dreamspace you're no better for quoting it.

Here we have it and now we all know for next time

~4 days for devs to fix their shit before refunds are OK when using moolah as escrow.

I would rather give the devs the opportunity to fix everything and show us just how awesome Syscoin can be, than have them admit defeat ahead of time without even trying by issuing everyone refunds...
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 18, 2014, 03:39:40 PM
For the sake of full clarity, we are hereby giving the Syscoin team 48 hours as of 1800 GMT this evening; to deliver a stable and working product. If at 1800 GMT on August 20th, the coin is still in a completely non-usable state (multiple forks, wallet corruption, service issues, mining issues, etc) and no progress has been made; we will begin the process of fully refunding coin holders at ICO rates. If good progress has been made (and only lesser issues remain), we will readdress this issue. If the coin is fully resolved? Great, escrow released. I will be communicating this to the Syscoin team momentarily.
Elaborate, what does good progress and lesser issues mean?
Seems pretty vague.

Good progress = working blockchain
Lesser issues = data button not working in wallet

My take on it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like a lot of people are worried about losing coins due to the fork, when really, isn't there a pretty low threat of that at this point?

The only coins that could be lost are ones generated (mined) AFTER the fork and on the wrong blockchain.  I'm pretty sure the exchanges froze deposits before the fork (I know Mintpal did anyway).  And most pools have been down since the fork also.  Unless you directly bought SYS from someone who mined them after the fork, you should have coins generated on the proper blockchain.  And coins generated on the proper blockchain that may have been sent to a wallet on the wrong fork, would likely revert back to the last address on the proper fork upon blockchain rescan.  So in short, the only way to get screwed is if you exchanged BTC (or something else) for SYS generated on the wrong fork.

This seems unlikely due to deposits to exchanges being down since before the fork.  But I'm definitely no expert on blockchains.  If I'm way off here, please, someone enlighten me.

If this is true, it is really good to know. Thanks!
