161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / liteaddress.org says bitaddress.org after downloading zip on: February 15, 2017, 03:12:06 PM
So, when I download the zip file from liteaddress.org and open it up in my browser, the page that opens has the header of bitaddress.org and it says its a bitcoin wallet instead of a litecoin wallet. I want a litecoin paper wallet. Advice please.

163  Bitcoin / Electrum / BIP47 on: May 25, 2016, 05:26:49 PM
I'm not technical but I listened to Justus Ranvier on letstalkbitcoin.com discussing BIP47. Are there any plans to bring this in to electrum?

164  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Next Halving on: May 24, 2016, 07:51:30 PM
According to the blockchain halving rule, the Bitcoin block mining reward halves every 210,000 blocks, the coin reward will be decreased from 25 to 12.5 coins at 10 Jul 2016 13:24:42,

Can anyone predict what will be the exact time and date for the next halving after this halving?

You can guess, but that's all it will be. In the last 3 months, the halving this year has moved up by more than 2 weeks. There are a lot of variables and it is impossible to even try to make a prediction based on anything known.

It is possible to predict. Watch!

When the current halving occurs down to a 12.5 btc block reward the next halving down to 6.25 btc will occur approximately 4 years later.

I'm no programmer either but I agree. I'm looking forward to all forms of decentralised gambling. It looks like it may be some time though for us end users.

Can be much more than 1% if Uk will legalise gambling with bitcoin, many uk citzens very unhappy with bookies
what are suspending his accounts after big wins, but it is not easy business

Ifs and buts. Punters by the very nature are not happy with the bookies. The winners get shut down and the losers are losing. The likes of old Terry who bets 20p each way on a horse is happy if he gets his free cup of coffee.

I gamble on SafeDice only!
I also tried a bit on Luckyb.it but that wasn't too great.

Go for it. Although, if I were to pick a number out of the clouds I would say that bitcoin gambling is < 1% of global gambling at present, but that really is a complete guess. But if you wanna do it. You go do it Smiley Cloudbet and Nitrogen Sports seem to be quite popular in this space.

172  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think any casino will offer zero/negative house edge? on: April 28, 2016, 09:54:33 PM
Not beyond a promotion like has already been suggested in other comments but I do think one day that there will be decentralised software that can offer 0% edge ONE DAY.

I can't see a way around players not getting their complete bets on though. If you take a coin toss as an example with pools of money being placed on one of two outcomes (heads or tails). It's very unlikely that the same total sums will be placed on the same selections so an amount will have to be returned to those betting on the selection with most stake.

For example say 100 players bet a collective total of
100 on heads
110 on tails

A total of 10 needs to be returned among all the players who selected tails reducing their preferred bet size as a percentage amongst all the other bettors who had selected tails. So this would be a bit sucky if you only got 90% of your preferred bet size down. However, it would be a totally fair 0% edge bet.

Incorporating this in to traditional casino games would likely bring down the percentage of getting your preferred bet size matched, unless it was super liquid, but again your bets would be fair. You can remove the 0 from roulette to make it fair and a mathemetician would have to tell you how to make blackjack have a 0% edge. It's surely possible though.

Dice software instead of dice sites too. Remove the trust, let machines provide the service.
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: do expedia still accept bitcoin? on: April 22, 2016, 10:40:59 AM
Yes they still accept bitcoin. Go to the US expedia site or the plain expedia.com so that you will be able to have an option to pay with bitcoin. It will no show you a bitcoin payment option if you use a local version of expedia. I hope you get what I am trying to explain because I'm quite mixed up with words. Cheesy

Worked out great. Thanks!

I'll give it a crack, cheers.

I'm having no joy finding a hotel that accepts bitcoin. Could one of you guys give me the link to a hotel that you see with the bitcoin option so I can see?
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: do expedia still accept bitcoin? on: April 22, 2016, 10:17:31 AM
It does appear hotel dependent. I just tried 2 other hotels. One was the same and only asked for credit card info but then another one asked for credit card or paypal.... still no bitcoin option though. I'll keep looking for a hotel that accepts bitcoin.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: do expedia still accept bitcoin? on: April 22, 2016, 10:14:10 AM
I'm in the UK. It could be something to do with it saying "£0.00 due now. Payment information is only needed to hold your reservation." What you reckon?
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / do expedia still accept bitcoin? on: April 22, 2016, 10:07:42 AM
I'm all ready to book a hotel, but there is no option on the expedia payment page to use bitcoin. Only credit cards. Did they remove the option?

179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Overcome Skrill Chargeback on: February 06, 2016, 03:26:00 PM
You'll only get the answers you are looking for from Skrill. Did you contact the person that sent you the money to explain? Did you get any response? This transaction seems to be the only suspicion in your mind so he may have charged back, or he may have sent you stolen money. How did you find your buyer? Did you ID him?

The man dont reply on skype any more , i talked to skrill and they said that i am  under security check , i am very old customer and have traded like 2-3K over there and i dont know why only this time they are having problem.

It sounds highly probable that this transaction is the cause for your account suspension. Give them some time to investigate and ask for an ETA on when it will be resolved. When did this transaction happen?
