Btw. you can currently write ฿ with Ctrl+Shift+u, then 0e3f followed by space in Linux and Alt+0E3F in Windows.

I have ฿ on my keyboard. Just have to change my local to Thai and press Shift+7. It's also printed on the keycap for extra convenience. (All keycaps have both international and Thai stickers)
162  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is escrowing for yourself using a secret alt OK? on: September 09, 2015, 01:21:21 AM
Why is this even a question? An escrow should, by definition, be a neutral and trusted third party.

Using an alias pretending to be that is a scam because you're simply not providing escrow at all.
163  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this real? Is this legal in Thailand? on: September 08, 2015, 09:28:33 AM

A (re-used) picture means very little. The website canonical name is spy[dot]th[dot]com. I did a quick google street view on the adress they gave and it looks like a residential area. I'm guessing the do not have a store front. The website design is old, the claims of the device are quite extraordinary. If you want to pursue this I suggest you contact the webshop and see how they respond to some questions.

Thank you for your comments!

Are you very far from Bangkok?

I did some research and it seems the device is a SecPro Cell Interceptor. I found no reliable source about where it's made (China?? Like everything else?) or the name of the company.

I just consider to make a move if someone local can verify on the spot that the shop is real and the device itself is real and can be sold.

It would take me over 2 hours to go to that location, and I probably still wouldn't be able to identify the building they operate from since it will likely be a normal residence instead of an actual brick and mortar store. I don't really feel like going out that far without at least having some confidence I would actually be able to find the place.
164  Other / Archival / Re: Can I get a third party to look at this message log and mediate? on: September 08, 2015, 08:39:19 AM
I can interpret the conversation in two very different ways:

1) There was no deal at all, Razerglass was simply asking for some examples / reference work before contracting Coinnosaurus
2) Razerglass agree to have Coinnosaurus design the signature for only seniors at BTC0.125

From the messages posted here Razerglass never said they would pay BTC0.035. They only mentioned they had another offer to do the job for BTC0.035. Coinnosaurus started work assuming they were contracted to do it for BTC0.125 without having an explicit confirmation of that.

I'd say both parties are at fault for not being explicit and specific about any deal. Both probably acted on good faith and this is the result of a misunderstanding.

My suggestion is that both parties talk together and come to an agreement where they both take part of the loss.
165  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this real? Is this legal in Thailand? on: September 08, 2015, 02:05:02 AM

Thanks to several messages from members I've now seen this exact same device (same pic at least  Grin) for sale in other asian countries like Indonesia and Pakistan.

So this makes me more confident that this device is real.

The cheapest place I saw it's still the thai shop I posted in the first comment.

So I'd like to ask again if someone from Bangkok can visit this store to confirm it's real.

166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CoinWallet says Bitcoin stress test in September will create 30-day backlog on: September 02, 2015, 05:19:46 AM
CoinWallet.eu is shady anonymous individual appeared recently just to advertise himself and XT fork.
Just ignore this crap. Slightly raising mining fees during attack will make his efforts useless.

Hopefully their website gets pwned if they try pwning Bitcoin.

This is fucking redic.

Hurts no one, but the little people.

In fact reading their statement it almost sound like a publicity thing "Our users of course will be unaffected *hahaha*!"

Stop whining. If bitcoin can't handle this, it's because bitcoin sucks in its actual form. Plain and simple.

Fuckin XT shills ftl.

Turn their argument around. If bitcoin can handle this it's in perfect form. Cheesy

Congratulations on moving to a bigger stage. Now you get to serve even more spammers fans looking for your attention ;-)
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Experiment - Achieving consensus where there is disagreement on: August 31, 2015, 01:35:57 AM
I think this experiment was a complete success in proving that you can achieve dissensus without too much effort. Wink

If you group the votes in 90% or up and less than 90% you get an almost perfect 50-50 split at the moment Cheesy
169  Other / Meta / Re: Abuse or not? on: August 28, 2015, 08:53:21 AM
Recently I have seen a few accounts being sold that have some trust on them. Personally I think it is bad to sell any accounts, but trusted is obviously worse. I think dropping a negative is probably alright as I do not trust people who buy them. Right now I have been leaving neutral warnings to inform others, but that does not lower their trusted status. Let me know what you think or at least flame me for the fun of it.

Voted yes because of the bolded part.

You're on default trust because (hopefully) you've got a good grip on who can and cannot be trusted.

PS. Flaming you seems pointless since you're all blazed out...  Cheesy
170  Economy / Reputation / Re: xetsr has put me a negtive trust without reason , Abuser shit on: August 28, 2015, 02:47:14 AM
You should complete a few deals with reputable members and show that you are not just another scammer.

... before you pull your scam.

This sounds like "Scamming 101"...
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin? Call the police! on: August 28, 2015, 02:01:50 AM
So you demonize Bitcoin, because of your security mistakes? You demonize the coin you hoped to clone and make money off of, because you fucked up? Anonymous tips to the CIA/FBI won't do much in terms of your attacker returning the stolen funds....
I was thinking the same thing, it's like putting a big wad of cash on your cars dashboard and then blaming cash in general for getting stolen.

Everybody is just jumping on the troll like it's their own fault something got stolen. In the example above it's foolish to blame cash in general. It's equally wrong to blame the careless person that kept in a very unsafe way (though they did fuck up, I agree with that). How about we start blaming the criminals?
We could blame the criminals, but what is that going to do? If people don't realize that part of it is their fault for bad security, then they aren't going to change things and criminals are going to steal it. If something is exploitable, someone's going to exploit it.

And that's the real problem. And it has zero to do with bitcoin.

173  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DjVoodoo/Crazytragator sent me fraudulent Amazon cards and demanding payment on: August 27, 2015, 05:15:37 AM
Am I the only one who thinks the whole business setup is Fishytm?

DjVoodoo obtains 3 Amazon Gift Cards (AGC), worth $500 each from Mr. X
DjVoodoo "sells" these AGC to turtlehurricane for BTC3.75 (BTC3.75 was worth less than $1125 on August 4th 2015)
turtlehurricane uses the cards to purchase a $1300 golden coin from Mr. Y
turtlehurricane sells the coins for $1300 (no profit?) to Mr. Z
turtlehurricane "pays" DjVoodoo 75 70 65% of $1300 ($845)
turtlehurricane keeps 25 30 35% of $1300 ($455)
turtlehurricane keeps the unspent $200 in their amazon account ?!

This is what I can read from this thread. It raises so many questions with me.

174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOVERMENTS killing CRYPTO. Back to the drawing table SATOSHI NAKAMOTO. on: August 27, 2015, 03:34:25 AM
The government is stealing our money using quantum asics? What's next, hitler bursts out of the ground where his secret nazi army was hiding and takes over the world riding on the backs of dinosaurs that shoot lasers?

Why would they do that? They already got you (or your employer) to send money to them. They don't have to take anything as long as everyone is giving to them.

The only people they will actually steal from are those that are not voluntarily giving. But that's quite off-topic for this thread. Back to Hitler and his secret Nazi army bursting out of the ground riding laser shooting dinosaurs. I'd (almost) give my money to see that movie.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOVERMENTS killing CRYPTO. Back to the drawing table SATOSHI NAKAMOTO. on: August 27, 2015, 03:30:33 AM
Real quantum computing (i.e. not D-Wave which is a scam) can't even count to 500 let alone do SHA256 hashing

You are missing the point it DOES NOT EVEN HAVE TO BE QUANTUM TECH... With Goverment resources especially they can build something x 1000 more efficient than normal consumer ASIC. Wich they will because it is no effort from CHINA or USA Goverment to do that. It's like another little test to QUASH this little thing called BITCOIN.

I find your faith in the competence of "government" quite endearing.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Experiment - Achieving consensus where there is disagreement on: August 27, 2015, 02:59:47 AM
Voted 75% because:

1) The children
2) I have no objections to 75%
3) I have no horse in the race.
4) To show how easy votes can be manipulated

So basicly... I voted for a small chance of someone else donating a bit to a good cause. Now I can feel so good about myself.

Could someone with a few dozen sock puppets join in on the vote? Think about the children!
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Subreddit dedicated for discussing why XT is a bad idea. on: August 21, 2015, 05:48:22 AM
It's not a discussion if only one point of view is accepted.

can't say anything negative about XT on /r/bitcoinxt

Yes you can, there is no censorship out there.

Oh sure, i'll just get downvoted to hell by all the Gavenites. Whats the point.

If you feel there's no platform where all sides get a fair chance to share their arguments then by all means start your own.

But stating "articles, news, ideas, about why forking like this is a terrible idea" implies that you're already set on the conclusion and are only allowing content that supports that preset conclusion. It will be an XT NoXT subreddit where you can only praisecondemn XT and Gavin. What's the point? You'd just be preaching to the choir.

179  Other / Meta / Re: Company putting clickable ad's at top of almost all posts on: August 21, 2015, 04:41:57 AM
Lately the mining hardware forums has been flooded with ad's posted by the company iTop.   They put a clickable ad at the top of most of their posts.  I talked about this in another forum and I think it's a violation of rules.

*edited to make smaller
I think it's in violation of #22 and/or #24:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

Please look at the following two accounts they post the click-able ad with iTop logo as an ad on almost all posts.

itop_james - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=539247
ITOP - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=543718

I have no problem if they advertise in signature or other ways on forum.  It just seems like a Gorilla type of advertising to make sure to post ad's in Bitmain threads in hopes of sales from the click-able ad.

I would appreciate if a moderator could look into this and hopefully stop these ad's at the top of each post.

Below is the ad they have I believe been breaking rules with by posting at top of almost all posts:

I pm-ed itop_james about this yesterday and they responded that they will stop doing it.
180  Other / Meta / Re: list of xt shills on: August 20, 2015, 09:49:38 AM
You're hopefully not accusing this LiteCoinGuy? You can always contribute to this list.

Please put my name on the list.
Being ignored by wannabe fundamentalists will make my life a lot easier.
So trying to improve the experience here = wannabe fundamentalist? Okay.

I agree with adding FUDsters to "The List". XT/Core fudsters don't need their own list.
