161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blacklisting Wallet Addresses Across Various Bitcoin Wallet Types on: March 26, 2024, 08:28:54 PM
Is there a feature in any type of Bitcoin wallet—whether hardware wallets, software wallets, web wallets, paper wallets, multi-signature wallets, or Lightning Network wallets—that can blacklist another Bitcoin wallet address from sending Bitcoin to your own wallet address?
Do you think this may be a feature that will be needed in the future for whatever reason best known to the user of the wallet?

You can't stop anyone from sending you junk of Bitcoin. Look at some wallet that people claim to belong to Satoshi, Bitcoin are been sent to the wallet address almost twice a week and nothing is stopping it from going, not even Satoshi can make it stop.

However, there is a solution to avoid them. Don't spend Bitcoin yiu don't know the source. The UTXO might be a junk or even dust attack and what hackers do is to know who own a particular Bitcoin. For instance you have a wallet address A and B  with 0.2BTC and 0.5BTC and they want to know who exactly control the private key to these Bitcoin, they can send you 0.0001BTC as a dust to each of the wallet to know who controls the key. Any day you send that Bitcoin and the dust to any wallet address, they will know that you control the private keys. So, what you should is to avoid any coin that is sent to you if you don't know the sender. A wallet with coin control can help you sort this out.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upon the death of a bitcoin user. on: March 26, 2024, 08:19:44 PM
I have come to stay in this community and thought of one thing which has been bothering me.
Relating from our traditional banks where a bank customer dies and all his assets remains unclaimed by his relatives. I was once told that there was a bank manager who withdrew funds from there customer dormant accounts hopefully that the owners are dead as those account has been dormant for years without any form of activity on the account, it happens when no relative knows about the account for them to lay claims.
Similarly to bitcoin what happens in the event of my dismissal since no relative knows about my investment. It doesn't really make sense if my family can't enjoy my wealth. Will it be lost or is it good to entrust someone incase I'm no longer there?

I think Banks has a duration of years account that has been left dormant to be investigate, it's not the responsibility of the bank to used or touch the money but to contact the real owner of the accounts and if the person is no longer alive, there is a legal way in which the family can claim the money, any bank that eat customers money is a thief and a criminal.

As for Bitcoin, there has been a lot of debate and with the responses I have seen, passing of Bitcoin is subjective. There is no way that I will hold Bitcoin forever but the one I have now is not for sale but I don't know what can happen tomorrow as death don't give anyone a warning and what I have done is that I let my dad knows about my Bitcoin, he doesn't understand how internet work that much but he has learn to keep safe items for more than 20 years that even we the children don't have access to nor the outsider. About trust, I trust him more than even the way I trust myself. So that doesn't bother me and I advice you to do the same but definitely shouldn't be a woman, not your girlfriend nor your wife, not your mum too because they are very emotional and can do the least you expect.
163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 24, 2024, 10:33:29 PM
Extending the contract for the Carlos Ancelotti and talk about bringing Mbappé mean things are surely to stay at the top of the league table with Barcelona is having no solid solution for the bringing themselves to the top due to their huge debit and many other internal issues which are creating life difficult for them and their fans as well.

Life is not always that easy in football. Were were here last season when Tottenham was been dramatic with Kane performance, he had the highest goal for that club, yet not a single Premier League title for him and then people wanted him to.leabe which he did and went to Bayern Munich but what has change since he went there? They aren't even the team leading in their domestic league, so please let's take a break with this Mbape and Real Madrid unity, they will do well but it's good if we all reduce our expectations to avoid disappointment later.

Quote
If we are able to check ground realities about all top teams in La Liga then surely we can understand Real Madrid is having no problems for staying at the top for another season, and they will not allow any club for creating problems for them in future as well now in coming match against Manchester City we will have challenging situation for them and most chance's winner will be going to have title as well.

Real Madrid has a string reputation, that's the trend they have been keeping and they know their way out bringing stubborn teams that keep them on that track. If having some strong feelings that even now that all eyes are on Mbape, they might be having some new players on track especially center back and possibly another full time goal keeper as Courtois has sustain another Acl injury.
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 24, 2024, 02:35:27 PM
Although Manchester City, Real Madrid are opponents of each other, we definitely consider these two teams as strong rivals in the Champions League. Along with Manchester City and Real Madrid, Bayern Munich are quite strong in the Champions League tournament this season and we can list Arsenal as the favorites for the Champions League competition. Arsenal have been consistent since the start of the season but they need to be a bit more consistent as the upcoming matches are definitely tough and if Real Madrid can't perform in line with Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the upcoming matches then Bayern Munich won't do well. If Manchester City and Real Madrid qualify for the semi-finals, I would like to see Arsenal and Bayern Munich qualify for the semi-finals.  Because if all the strong teams lose in the quarter final then the final match will not be good at all.

Which of the Bayern Munich are you talking about? The same ones that beat minor Lazio, they didn't even win Lazio not until they had to aggressively make a come back in the second league, if they are that good, I'm not sure Bayern Leverkusen would give them 10 points back because if it was that easy for Leverkusen to shake Bundesliga that way and Bayern is that good as you said, they should probably be above by 15 points in their domestic league but the are not, sitting in the second place.

I won't be surprised if Arsenal say goodbye to the tournament in this phase. It is still going to be a successful run for them anyway. The opponent is Bayern Munich now and their job is quite difficult. If Arsenal play the same as the Porto matchup then there is a big problem for them. Bayern Munich might seem like they aren't the same as the previous season but they wouldn't be forgiving against vulnerable opponents anyway.

Honestly I don't expect a huge score between these teams this time. Arsenal have made big progress thanks to Arteta. I expect to see them fighting back decently.  Smiley  But when it comes to my favourite it is still Bayern Munich though.

I know right, Arsenal is not used to be here so we are not programmed to think they are capable of pulling surprises to their fans but what if Arsenal becomes like the rest of the teams that are good. You can't see a team at the top of the Premier League and consider their performance as average, they are more than average team which is why I have a vote of confidence in them, at least to send Bayern Munich back to Bundesliga where they belong.

I just don't like how faith brought them to the same side with Real Madrid because I'm anticipating for Manchester United to go home and Madrid will proceed to the semi final and then face the next opponents but I don't want to see them face Real Madrid, that's going to be a suicide to them. If perhaps a reshuffle is allow after the Quarter final, that will be my final wish in this tournament so they can demonstrate that they are good but I know Madrid will win them in the final match anyways. Cheesy

165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 24, 2024, 07:54:43 AM
The EPL is tougher than we would know. Manchester City always have a turn to spun things around, not certain with their current form but they're the best when it comes to performance, no dragging odds to win matches because Pep Guardiola is incharge. The EPL title race is among the three main clubs and only one of them will be able to lift the title with significance. Meanwhile Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta are also making moves for the title and this season will probably be the best in decades.

It's not as tough as you think, we just have 3 teams that are hungry for the league title and none of them want to give up on their target. Jurgen Klopp is having is final moments in Liverpool and has won EFL cup which is now twice his achievements but his Premier League trophy is one which was for Liverpool, winning this one again will be one of his greatest achievements if you ask me.

Arteta since assume the full role of Arsenal Manager and full coach, he has set the club in one or the greatest journey, not what they have done in the last 6 years but the club is fair now but no trophy yet, it will be one of the best moment in Emirate to present that trophy for Arsene Winger and the rest.

Manchester City want to remain dominant of the league, having these will put Guardiola as best manager of the year and will increases the chances of players like Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne compete properly for the next Balon D'or, there is much at stake for Manchester City of they win the Premier League.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are some countries being sentimental with bitcoin and the cryptos at large? on: March 24, 2024, 07:40:37 AM
Most countries where bitcoins has been restricted is due to the rate of fraud that so many people has turned bitcoins into so government decided to banned it use
Then another causes of it could be acceptability and awareness of bitcoins by the leaders of a country

I checked analytical insight to see if I can find the current rating of 10 top internet scamming countries and what I found was the rating of last year and judging by your statement, you are wrong about that. Among the top countries that has ban Bitcoin was only China and what happened was the crackdown of miners activities. The government believe there high numbers of illegal Bitcoin mining site in China and this was due to the fact the electricity were cheaper to mine and due to the concern of global warming, the government decided to ban anything related to Bitcoin and not "scam" campaign. Even India still allow the used of Bitcoin despite the high rate of scams from that region.

You should know that government can ban anything for many reasons particularly if it's something they can't control or something that dify their aims and objectives. I could remember in 2020 when the Nigeria government ban anything related Bitcoin because there was ongoing protest and donations were made through Bitcoin and other means and the only way to stop the ongoing protest was to stop funding them and they did ban it but fee years later, it was later unbanned.

Arsenal winning the premier League is like wanting a Cow to pass through the hole of a needle.. it's an impossible mission if you ask me, and I believe they are actually fighting to remain in the top four to qualify for the champions League.. Although they have been playing impressive football since last season and bravo to them for that but winning the league is another level itself.. with clubs like Manchester city, Liverpool who have also been in good form this season it'll  take a big miracle for Arsenal to lift the trophy this season.. Let's also not forget that they'll play Manchester city immediately after the international break probably is the reason bukayo saka is claiming to be injured..

You guys underrate Arsenal so much that you don't even see their success when it's right there that the are winning. They might have more loss among the top three teams but they manage their so well to win instead of draw like the other teams did. They are were topping th table even before now, came down and still went back there. If it was that easy, Manchester United would be there dragging the top of the tree with them, but they aren't even sure of going to the Europa conference league next season, give Arsenal some respect they deserve.

Bukayo Saka is one of the key players of Arsenal, he can't fade injury just when the club need him the most but even if he wouldn't be around, there are people that will take that wing position massively and will deliver. He was injured some weeks back and wasn't here and yet the team were breaking barriers like he was present in the club, take a chill and watch the outcome of the match.
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It’s unlikely that anyone besides you will be happy with your winnings. on: March 23, 2024, 08:05:35 AM
I know that many friends and acquaintances get depressed when they find out how much you have earned. For them, it will be an unnecessary reminder of their failure. Often friendships end after one person becomes very rich. People lose common topics for communication, common interests disappear. Of course, things are different in sports betting and trading than in business. Here success is less stable and a person can often fall back into poverty more quickly. But it’s still better to hide your victories from others. I've seen many clear examples.

It's natural for human being to feel jealous when they see that another person got something they are struggling for all their life so easy, imagine someone that has been gambling for some years and has been mixing strategies to get some grand audit win and all of a sudden someone who started less than a year won $1M, no matter how you tried to keep it, you will be happy for him and the same time jealous because you would wish you were the one that has such opportunity but of course, we have people that will never be happy for you, they would wish it happen to them and they can do anything to make you lose that money you have earn.

If you don't have the stomach to controls a lot of things around you, if you win a big amount of money from gambling, it's better you keep it to yourself and not even your family. As long as the money is legit and has a source, even if you buy a whip that get attention of anyone, it's not in your place to tell them you won something big, the world is full of evil people.
170  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: March 22, 2024, 01:58:14 PM
I only wish more retail investors would understand this and adopt a perspective of long term holding, many people are only in bitcoin for quick profits from the bull and end up selling when the price has reached a certain high level, but don't they ever wonder why these big companies Don’t sell, they know what others don't and from Michael saylor Comment that shows a lot, to him bitcoin is a far better asset than all others and they is no need to sell to have faits or to buy any other asset, this guy sees a future that many don't and I won't be surprised if he becomes an icon in wealth in the next few years.

Everyone can't be like Michael Saylor and his company. Some people like their quick profits and it favour them and I'm cool by it, Microstrategy has money to do what they want but the rest don't have like them and they also.has access to borrow funds from any company to buy more because they are capitalizing on low leverage, their liquidation should still be below $20k, if anything unexpected comes up, the can still find their way out and stay liquid.

My only fear is that the government is watching and I can't say for sure if Microstrategy don't have cockroach in their cupboard when SEC start investigating, they are now currently the highest institutional investors with lots of Bitcoin, if SEC comes after them and see some foul game, the will fine them and you know what happened next if such news spread outside, Bitcoin price will be affected.
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden resurrects 30% crypto mining tax in new budget proposal on: March 22, 2024, 01:36:08 PM
the problem is, such a small percentage of people are going to be affected by this law in the usa that the voice of the miners is going to be so small as to be negligible. on the other hand, lets say biden was trying to tax uber/lyft drivers an additional 30% on their electricity use of their electric car well then that would be a different story. the drivers would raise a huge stink about that and a bazillion journalists would be writing stories on it like this was the gravest injustice ever known to man...

Comparism of Uber drivers and miners doesn't make sense because their gross revenue is unmatch, not even close and the energy consumption isn't the same. The last time I check about the US tax is base on the amount you earn, if you earn small amount the government will likely charge you less and if you earned high amount, you are likely to get high tax because even with amenities, the reach tend to get special treatment when it comes to allocation of these amenities.

The Comparism should have been between the stock investors and the miners and when you check what stock and other investments tax charges the US government collect from these people, it's likely the same with miners though it's less for minor investors. The US is known for heavy taxing and that's why a lot of investors are running from the country, some of her citizens don't bring their money back to the country because of these taxes.
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: March 22, 2024, 01:18:06 PM
There is only one issue with holding Bitcoin for a long period - you never know when the price will go up significantly. You can wait for 10 years and the price would still be low. People waited 3 years for ATH to update. There is a tendency that every 3-4 years Bitcoins price update ATH, but there is no guarantee that it will always do it. And adoption might become like this - you want adoption, you get regulation or limitation. Right now Bitcoin is so to say wild. Adoption cant happen imho without control. If Bitcoin gets controlled, it will stop gaining in price.

I think this is wrong information. Holding Bitcoin for a long term means that you are holding for a long term because you don't have plan on cashing out your investment anytime soon and also anticipating for increase in price which is not bad but waiting for 10 years is wrong. I have not seen anyone invested in Bitcoin all their life for 10 years, most people that have been holding for more than 10 years are probably the OG which are still using legacy addresses.

So far, we have had adoption and no regulations has been set upon Bitcoin, the only people that the government are trying to regulate are the centralized exchanges which is as a result of implemented anti money laundering scheme KYC to combat scammers and allow the crypto be free from fraud but that hasn't stop Bitcoin from doing what it should have done.
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A weird interview on: March 22, 2024, 01:08:24 PM
I was recently interviewed on air. The interviewer described my answer to her question as weird. During the interview, something led to the other and I was asked thus;
The interviewer: If you are eventually imprisoned and denied access to internet and communication for 10 year, on regaining freedom what's the first thing you will do?
My answer: I will ask for a mobile phone or a laptop to check the Bitcoin price Grin
She exclaimed that it is weird that I love bitcoin that much. She proceeded to ask if I am sure bitcoin will still be around in 10yrs time and what value will it have.
My answer: Things change alot, 5 years is alot for many things to happen let alone 10 years. However, I believe bitcoin will be around and it might worth between 100k to 300k dollars.

I will bite my ***k if I get to know that you don't own a full Bitcoin just like John McAfee said if Bitcoin price doesn't get to $1M(rest in peace man, Bitcoin community misses you). Grin

Well, you really love Bitcoin that much but I think the lady is right though from my on opinion. Honestly, 10 years is not 1 year and just to remind you, 1 year contain 12 months and to say that we se 1 months like a year in crypto space, I think the first thing I will do when I get out of a prison is to see my lovely family, I can't do without my family because they are the last I will want to abandon and then get lock up for 10 years.

If you have spoke to another person that is a Bitcoin maximalist, they would have understood but ladies are emotional and would definitely see your answer as weird. Even a common person that has not use Bitcoin will see your answer as been weird my friend. Cheesy
174  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading or Long term on: March 22, 2024, 12:58:51 PM
So I have been trying to wrap my head around which is a better option, day trading crypto or buying for long term keep.
While they both have their pros and cons, they both come with a form of risk and they are meant to generate profit.
The major difference between them is that day trading tend to make profit from small market volatility, while hodling make profit from the bigger change in crypto value.
Day trading involves more techniques, self discipline and rational decision making.
Which do you prefer and think is better

The two is about timing. You can be a day trader in bull market and also be a long term trafer in bull market, some coins don't have fundamental news to give you daily profits, some will take one or two months before they spike before they give reach the potential level you want it to be sold. But let's use Bitcoin against USD as example: In a bear market, there is no way for you to daily trade and have a significant profit but as along term, you can gain something in a long term trading but you can make the both in bull market without any stress.

Your aim in trading should be learning how to trade, if you understand trading very well, trust me you will make a lot of money and you will know if you are to go by daily trading or long term trading because the time will always give you hint from your technical analysis if it's going to be favorable or not.
175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trades be closed only when the market is bullish? on: March 22, 2024, 12:52:39 PM
A tendency arises among us. When the value of Bitcoin increases a lot, we start trading more. Which puts our trade management in jeopardy, during which most of the time people face loss.

What is your experience in this field?

Logically, your subject doesn't make sense, it doesn't make sense to close trade when market is bullish, you only close trade when the market is bearish or maybe when you have hit your targets. However, most often, to always avoid your profits wearing off, it's always better to use Trailing profits, that's help you take profits at the particular place you want it to take the profit for you.

What you should know about market is this, both ways profits can be printed if you understand the market very well. As a regular spot trader, I don't short market when everyone is bullish, I become bullish as well because the trend is your friend but I don't follow the trend blindly like everyone do, I take my profits before we reach resistance, that's what I did with Bitcoin when we reached ATH of Bitcoin and then short the market at $71k and it's still open. The reason why I shorted is not because I'm bearish, the market is still bullish but short term bearish as halving is coming a lot of weak hands will sell off until after the halving before another rally will start again and by then my shot will be close as I have another open order waiting to be filled so we can continue the ride.
176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Isn't trading almost like gambling? on: March 21, 2024, 10:25:26 PM
No, I don't really think so, trading has nothing to do with gambling, they are totally different from each other, because gambling is a game of luck, while trading is based on knowledge,  and the your ability in the craft.

Perhaps you should say that gambling is all about luck and knowledge probability while trading is using knowledge in technical and fundamentaly about what you are trading at hand. Gambling and trading are never th same and doesn't correlate at all but I think futures can b categorized as a form of gambling but in trading form. In spot trading, you only have unrealized proofs and loss but futures is not realize unless you are using cross margin which requires more money if liquidation is coming close.

Quote
Those traders that are trading as if they are gambling are mostly the cause of people comparing gambling and trading together, in trading you don't chase losses like they do in gambling, because if you do, you will surely do yourself more harm than good, but their are traders who are making it big because they have masters the craft, and they know when to trade and when not to trade, those set of traders are the profitable traders, while in gambling their is no mastery, it's a game that is base on how lucky you are on that day, nothing more.

A trader that fail to use technical and fundamental analysis is not trading, what the are doing is pure gambling which can lead to disaster one day. We have a lot of them right now in this bull run but they don't learn until the very day we have a hard correction the way we have been pumping all this while, you will see them calling crypto as a scam.

Help!!!

Hello everyone, I am a newbie and am in dire need of help as I'm eager to learn but I have little or no experience on how to navigate through the forum.
I joined the forum late 2022 but most of my discussions are being moved to off topics, probably because my discussions aren't of good qualities.
One of the reasons why I got depressed and left but I am back now, in good health and sane mind, ready to learn to improve the quality, and also give back positive impact to the community.

Please kindly recommend me books and guide on how to be better.
Thanks in advance

Depressed? For what exactly? You are eager to rank up for signature else I don't think ranking up in this forum worth been depressed but don't get me wrong, there is nothing absolutely wrong in signature earnings.

I want to highlight some of the mistakes and things you are doing wrong since you registered into this forum. You have been making threads about life situation that are neither politics or speculation and those kinds of threads belong to off topic discussion, all boards in this forum are created for special discussion, so when you post something that is not related, they take it off.

Secondly, you haven't been active in places where merit are most time available, you should visit places that are not spamming like the altcoin discussions and the rest that do have less engaging threads.

178  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be ready when it comes to selling? on: March 21, 2024, 07:54:44 PM
I understand it is more safe to have crypto on cold storage but is it less likely in the peak of a bull run for exchanges to fall? If so, I feel it would be better to send all of my crypto to exchange in advance to then be ready to sell everything.

This may be obvious to some but this is my first bull run and want to be ready when it comes to selling and I am just not sure what is best way of planning to sell.

I understand your strategy, looks smart but more trappy to me. Don't leave your coin on any exchange if you don't have business selling that particular time because between that range of bullrun, a lot can happen, 1 months in crypto looks like 1 year in crypto world, a lot things can happen that period. You don't even need a centralized exchanges to sell your coins, kindly use a Dex from your laptop and connect your hardware wallet to sell your coin to USDT, it's as simple as that and USDT use for anything you want at any time without worrying of any volatility.

If this is your first bullrun, please have it at the front of your mind that any coin can pump to any price, what you have in mind for the coin to perform is not what night happen. If you have enough profits that you think it's significant enough, sell the coin and move out of the market. If you are in profits and having the mindset to use your money to buy a car, you might keep holding forever until tte profit becomes loss.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 Years ago people laughed at me bcz of THIS on: March 21, 2024, 07:44:32 PM
I know the corona virus affected the price of bitcointhat led many people to sell out at that time but I doubt coronavirus occured just because of bitcoin.  The existence of corona virus have nothing to do with bitcoin,  their might be something the caused the virus to occur but bitcoin was not the target, this deadly disease caused ao many effects on important things that is very valuable to human life. It also affected the economy in general.

Many articles suggest the virus originated from China but irrespective of where it comes out from, just know that the virus was a biological weapon set to wipe out the population of the world, it could also be a weapon for shock market to crash and it did, even oil was so red that year and speculative even when no news was there, a lot of people sold their investment because of food during the lock down and you know, during war investment doesn't matter, what matter is food, water and means of survival.

Bitcoin wasn't the only asset that crash that time but it hurt the crypto market more because a lot of people were bullish on the coming halving which was great but the the volatility of Bitcoin is crazy, the volatility was one of th reason why Bitcoin crash was high than the stock market but the recovery was crazy. A lot of people made money after the halving.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How old would you be by 2140? on: March 21, 2024, 07:22:48 PM
I don't need to beat around the bush further because what I want you to know that perhaps you haven't thought to sit and give a careful consideration about, before being bothered about any FUD and FOMO Or the mere thoughts of investing in BTC is this;
* how old would you be by 2140?
* What's your excuse for not investing in owning Bitcoin now?

With the epistle you wrote up there, I don't expect you to ask the first question because you and I will be skeletons in the grave by that time. I hope the person reading this in the year 2140 gives me some credit for saying this because I wouldn't be breathing by then Cheesy
OP, an average life span of normal human is 80 and if you are lucky, you could go to 90, only few numbers 1 out of 10 do reach 100 years without kicking the bucket, with my current age I don't think I need to discuss about my age in 2140 because I will be resting by then.

I have some Bitcoin but not fully gauge as I want to invest and that's because of my financial weight, not every one can afford to invest in Bitcoin and some people you see that didn't invest in Bitcoin is because they don't have money to pay bills, Bitcoin is investment is going to be the last thing they want to try out. In addition, not everyone will invest in Bitcoin even though it comes down to $10k.
